    My spouse and I stay...

    My spouse and I stayed for one night. It would have been even better if our Room had a sofa, but the bath was indoors and an Onsen, already filled for us. The staff member who guided us also provided a thorough and helpful explanation. The meals were wonderful both dinner and breakfast, and we truly felt pampered. Since we dined in a private room, we couldn’t eat while looking out at the sea, which was the only disappointment. We have stayed at many Hotels, but this had the best food of all. We happened to visit Shimonoseki this time and found this Hotel by chance, but next time we will travel specifically to stay here.

    Shimonoseki is a wonderful place.

    This was our first trip to Shimonoseki with my parents, and we were able to relax in the Room. The meals were adjusted to a smaller portion suitable for seniors, and breakfast was excellent and delicious—overall, it was a stay that truly satisfied my parents. The Room was quiet, and since there was a lot of boat traffic, it was very enjoyable just watching outside. It was a shame that a building had gone up and about half of the bridge could no longer be seen from the Room, but we still enjoyed a wonderful view. We could also see boats well from the bath in the Room and take our time enjoying the Onsen. Thank you very much.

    An Accommodation that will impress you every time you return

    I could never forget how moved I was during my first stay, so I came back again this time. The beautiful ocean views, the warm hospitality of the staff, the modern and spotless Room, and the delicious meals prepared with genuine care—everything is wonderful. This is a truly beloved Accommodation where nothing feels lacking. Once again, I felt deeply refreshed and was able to spend a wonderful time. Thank you for your exceptional hospitality. I would definitely love to visit again.

    Relaxing Accommodation

    Water from the bath flowed into the washroom, so I think it would be better with one more improvement. As an Accommodation right by the sea, the location is outstanding. All the staff were very helpful and kind. The breakfast bread was very delicious. It became a wonderful memory. I would like to visit again.

    The bath is great.

    After getting off the “Twilight Express Mizukaze” at Shimonoseki Station, we stayed at this Accommodation. This was our second visit. Being able to soak in the bath while looking out at the sea is truly wonderful. It melts away travel fatigue. The Room is spacious, simple without being excessive. The air conditioning was quiet, and we slept soundly. For breakfast, we really appreciated how the Hotel tries various thoughtful touches, and we enjoyed it very much. The freshly made dashimaki omelet had a gentle flavor, but it was beautifully prepared and delicious. Next time, I’d like to make a Reservation for dinner and try it as well. The staff seemed to be mostly locals; their service was polite but not stiff—just right. If I have a chance to visit Shimonoseki again, I’d like to return.

    Panoramic views of the Kanmon Strait in the Seto Inland Sea

    An adults-only Hotel where you can relax with the historic Kanmon Straits spread out below. Enjoying an Onsen bath in your Room is the best. The amenities were well provided, which made me feel at ease.\nThis is a Hotel I would like to stay at again.

    A comfortable and pleasant Hotel

    I stayed for one night on a weekday during the holiday period. This is a Hotel with thoughtful attention to detail that I’d love to visit again. The calm atmosphere throughout the property, the courteous service from the staff, and a clean Room with well-stocked amenities all made for a wonderful stay. I requested a smaller, senior-friendly meal, and both the taste and portion were more than satisfying. The in-room Onsen could be enjoyed privately while looking out at the sea. From the Room, you can take in panoramic views of the tranquil strait—worth it for the scenery alone. I’ve stayed at many Hotels and Ryokan over the years, but this one felt exceptionally comfortable compared to any other. I would definitely like to return.

    Traveling with my mother and my spouse

    I had long wanted to stay at Kaze no Umi. The three of us stayed in a Sea Suite. The view was wonderful, and the Accommodation was spotless and beautifully maintained. Although there is no large public bath, the in-Room Onsen allowed us to soak slowly and relax without worrying about others. The BVLGARI shampoo, conditioner, and body wash also made it feel especially luxurious. The food was delicious as well. The staff were extremely kind, and I think it’s an impeccable Accommodation.

    It was great.

    Without doing much research, we quickly chose this Onsen Accommodation in Shimonoseki. When we arrived, we were surprised to find that it wasn’t a typical Onsen Ryokan and had more of a resort feel—and there was no large public bath. However, for us, it was actually a plus that the Room’s semi-open-air bath was fed by Onsen water. We were very satisfied with the Facility, the meals, and the service. If having a large public bath is essential for you, this may not be the best fit—but otherwise, we recommend it.

    The Onsen with an ocean view was amazing.

    We stayed with No Meals Included, and it was a very satisfying stay! The spacious balcony, the view from the Room, and the Onsen while looking out at the ocean were especially wonderful. The Room was also clean and well maintained—nothing to complain about. We also appreciated having a supermarket nearby. We would definitely like to stay again!

    A Hotel You’ll Want to Return To

    This was my first stay. Everything was wonderful! The staff’s warm greetings made me feel great as well. The food was delicious, and I finished every bite. I would love to stay again. I have already recommended it to my friends.

    We will visit again.

    Thank you very much for all your thoughtful gestures the other day regarding my retirement—the Room key card, the celebratory vegetables at dinner, the champagne, and more. I visited in January at the start of the year, and this time in March to mark my retirement; it’s an Accommodation that somehow makes me want to return at life’s milestones. The view from the Room, the Onsen, the meals, and the kindness of your staff make me feel renewed and energized. I look forward to staying with you again.

    It feels just like traveling on a cruise ship.

    My spouse and I stayed for one night. Since strong winds were forecast that day, we were able to check in early. From the large windows in the lobby, the Kanmon Strait spread out right before us, creating a wonderful sense of openness. We could also see the Kanmon Strait from our Room—it felt as if we were traveling on a cruise ship. Although the weather was unfortunate, we were able to relax and recover from our trip.

    A Highly Satisfying, Fully Enjoyable Trip

    A breathtaking view I’d love to see again! Unfortunately, the sky was cloudy, but I could relax and watch ships of all sizes coming and going through the Kanmon Straits—day, night, and morning—without ever getting tired of it. For some reason it really moved me, and I’d like to come back someday.

    I was very satisfied with everything. I regret not spending less time sightseeing and more time staying at the Hotel. I wish I had relaxed more at the Hotel.

    Delicious breakfast

    We only had breakfast at the Hotel as we dined out for dinner, and it was absolutely wonderful. Recently, many places offer buffet-style meals with mediocre content, but the breakfast here is carefully prepared dish by dish and served in a beautiful multi-tiered box like a treasure chest. The interior design is also very tasteful.

    It was excellent.

    The facility and rooms were very clean, with all rooms facing the Kanmon Strait, offering an amazing view. You can also enjoy the scenery from the bath. In the morning, you can admire the sunrise over the sea from your balcony. After checking in, we had some time before dinner, so we took a walk along the promenade by the sea behind the hotel. The meals were excellent; dinner was a fugu (pufferfish) course meal that was very delicious, and there was a good variety of alcoholic beverages to enjoy with it. Breakfast was also delightful. The staff provided very pleasant service throughout our stay. This time we stayed for only one night, but next time we plan to book a Multiple Night Stay to fully enjoy both the hotel and sightseeing in Shimonoseki.

    It was a wonderful Hotel.

    I stayed for one night in a semi-suite. The Hotel had a smart and modest appearance, located in front of the strait on the Chofu side. The view of the sea from the Room was stunning, with the sunrise directly visible and large ships passing through the strait up close. The kaiseki cuisine centered around fugu sashimi was exceptionally delicious, with each dish being delightful.

    Enjoyed the vibrant ocean views and a full-course meal.

    A new and clean Hotel located near the seaside in a vast redevelopment area. Although it is a bit far from Shimonoseki Station, the frequent bus services make transportation convenient. The Seto Inland Sea stretches out right in front, offering a lively and grand view of numerous ships passing by, along with the Kanmon Bridge and several islands. Guests can also enjoy the sunrise early in the morning as recommended by the staff. The Room is clean and has a neat atmosphere. All staff members, regardless of age or gender, were kind, friendly, and provided sincere hospitality for which I am grateful. Particularly notable were the young local staff who worked cheerfully and enthusiastically. For dinner, I enjoyed "Mankan Zenseki," which exceeded expectations with its delicious locally sourced ingredients prepared to perfection—every dish was delightful. The portion size was just right as well. Breakfast was healthy and tasty; however, one minor issue was with the rice served in a tabletop pot—it had some overly crispy parts that were hard to chew even when served on my plate. After informing the staff about this issue, they kindly provided another serving of rice as a replacement. While it may be challenging to check every dish thoroughly, addressing this would enhance future experiences. The Room's air conditioning was quiet, and the bed was comfortable for restful sleep—I felt very relaxed during my stay. There is also a well-maintained promenade along the seawall right outside where guests can enjoy walking while interacting with locals who often share interesting information about their area. Although I rarely visit this region under normal circumstances due to concerns about bears recently elsewhere nearby areas prompted me here—and I'm glad I came! I look forward returning again someday soon!

    Who knew such a wonderful Onsen accommodation existed in Shimonoseki...

    This was my first time staying here. The building is new, and the room was so clean that I was pleasantly surprised. As soon as you open the frosted glass-style entrance door, a stunning view of the Kanmon Strait greets you. When you enter the room, the same breathtaking scenery seen from the front desk is right before your eyes. You can enjoy this view while soaking in Onsen in your room's bath or step out onto the balcony to feel the sea breeze directly—it's incredibly quiet with only the sound of waves. The Onsen is a chloride spring with a slight salty taste, and it’s convenient as water automatically refills when it decreases. One minor downside is that there’s an apartment building next to this accommodation on its right side, which blocks half of Kanmon Bridge from view; however, there’s still plenty of beautiful scenery to enjoy beyond that. It was said that sunrise could be seen beautifully from the balcony, but unfortunately, it was slightly cloudy on my morning stay so I couldn’t see it—what a pity! This time I chose a no-meal plan; however, Karato Market and Shimonoseki Station area are just about 10-15 minutes away by car, making it easy to find dinner or breakfast options without any trouble. Next time though, I’d love to have meals at this accommodation while enjoying its scenic views leisurely. Nearby (almost next door), there are MaxValu supermarket, Daiso store, and a drugstore—all within walking distance—which makes things very convenient. It was such a wonderful accommodation that I definitely want to stay here again!

    It was excellent.

    The entire accommodation, including the rooms, was clean and well-maintained. The staff's hospitality was very pleasant and excellent. The onsen had a soft texture and felt incredibly relaxing. The view was stunning, and I enjoyed soaking while gazing at the ocean for hours. Even at night, large ships passed by, making it enjoyable to watch outside. The highlight was the delicious meals. Having stayed at various accommodations before, the food at Kaze no Umi was exceptionally tasty with just the right portions. Drinks and additional dishes were reasonably priced, making me think, "Maybe I'll order that." I would definitely like to visit again if I have the chance. If it were a bit closer, I would make it my regular accommodation!

    Thank you for accommodating our late arrival.

    Thank you for providing a bento box as an alternative, even though we missed dinner time due to a one-and-a-half-hour flight delay caused by heavy rain. The Room's bath was spacious, and despite my wife having limited mobility, the low step and handrails allowed her to bathe without any issues. Thank you very much.

    We had the best celebration!

    For my mother's 80th birthday celebration, we, her children and grandchildren, gifted our parents a trip. The building, the room, the food, and the hospitality— everything seemed to be perfectly wonderful. Hearing their stories made me want to visit someday too. Considering my mother's age, I'm not sure how many more trips she can take in the future, but I hope to send her again. Thank you for making it such a memorable journey!

    A highly satisfying Hotel

    Despite the unfortunate rain, I was able to relax at this wonderful Hotel. The staff's hospitality and the Room with an open-air bath were satisfying, and everything was cleaned beautifully. The meals were all delicious, and both breakfast and dinner were highly satisfying. I would love to visit again. Thank you to all the staff and the head chef!
