    The food and service were excellent.

    All the meals were delicious, and the portions were just right. The staff provided excellent service, and we were very satisfied with the bath in the Room, which we could use at our convenience.

    Just as the name suggests, this Accommodation is a hidden hot spring retreat.

    The location is quiet and very pleasant. The hospitality, baths, and meals are all excellent. The room size is good, but it does feel dated.

    Overall, I am satisfied with my stay.

    Overall, we were satisfied with the services and had a comfortable stay. However, we were really looking forward to the private open-air bath, but it felt a bit scary for older guests. It was somewhat slippery, and we were concerned that the step into the open-air bath felt unstable.

    Meals and Services

    (1) Meals: 1) Dinner: Unlike some modern creative Japanese cuisine that overplays ingredients or adds too many twists, we enjoyed authentic Japanese dishes true to a seaside Ryokan, supported by the chef’s solid skills. 2) Breakfast: The grilled splendid alfonsino was cooked perfectly with crispy skin, and the warm tofu and other healthy items were delicious. We enjoyed it in our Room with a pleasant view of the Izu sea. (2) Service: The front desk staff, attendants, and dining staff were all friendly, and we had a comfortable stay. We would be happy to return. If I had to mention something, some paint in the wash area was peeling, and there were signs of aging in parts such as hot-water pipes, so maintenance seems necessary.

    Relax

    It was our first trip alone as a couple in a long time. The Room isn’t new due to its age, but it was kept clean, so we had no issues. Both dinner and breakfast were luxurious, and we were very satisfied. We also enjoyed the Onsen, with both a large public bath and an in-room bath. We ended up using the in-room bath many times. Although the weather wasn’t great, Hatsushima Island looked beautiful whenever it came into view, and we were glad we could escape everyday life and have a satisfying trip.

    It was a wonderful experience.

    We stayed at “Tsuki no Akari” this time. The view from the open-air bath in our Room was wonderful, and we were able to relax and enjoy a leisurely time. The meals were carefully prepared, and we were very satisfied with both the presentation and the taste. All of the staff were warm and welcoming, making our stay comfortable from start to finish. Since we eat quickly, breakfast within the allotted time was fine for us; however, as entry, dining, and departure are fixed between 9:00–9:45, it may not be suitable for elderly guests or those with limited mobility. On our way back, they also called a taxi for us to Ajiro Station. It was a lovely Accommodation where we could forget everyday life and truly refresh ourselves, so we would definitely like to stay again.

    The bath and the foo...

    The bath and the food were excellent! One disappointing thing was that in the evening, some dishes were cleared away even though we hadn’t finished eating. I would have appreciated being asked before they were removed.

    An honest impression.

    This was my first time staying here. First, it costs 2,000 yen or more by taxi from the nearest station. You have to keep climbing a steep hill, so it’s difficult to get there on foot. There is no Shuttle Service. The Room was dim and smelled musty. The Onsen I was expecting turned out to be only a small in-room bath, and it is a recirculating bath. The water alternated between very hot and cold, so it didn’t feel like an Onsen at all. The food used no particularly unique ingredients and was just an ordinary meal with average taste. The plates seemed like they were from a 100-yen shop. Overall, it did not feel like a high-end Ryokan. It felt like “eat quickly and leave quickly.” Even though check-out is at 11:00, we were told about train times and were made to check out more than 15 minutes early. It wasn’t a hospitable Ryokan—disappointing.

    The meals were exceptionally delicious and beautifully presented—we were truly impressed. The portions were more than generous, and we were completely satisfied. The bath was also wonderful, and the view from the Room was outstanding, leaving us relaxed in both body and mind.

    The bath is spacious...

    The bath is spacious with a 180-degree view of the ocean, and the lightly seasoned meals were very satisfying. However, the Room is only six and a half tatami mats in size, and when two futons are laid out, there is no space to sit. The small size of the Room was truly surprising.

    I felt relaxed throughout my stay.

    I was looking for an accommodation with a private open-air bath to relax at my own pace. The ocean view right in front of me was stunning and very soothing. The in-room dinner allowed me to enjoy the meal comfortably without any worries, which was great. Both dinner and breakfast had just the right portions with gentle seasoning. Everything was very delicious. The onsen water was smooth and felt amazing. I felt completely refreshed thanks to the room, cuisine, onsen, and hospitality. Thank you so much!

    Stunning Views!

    I made a reservation the night before as I suddenly got two consecutive days off. The room was an 8-tatami mat size, which is small, but I stayed with that understanding, so it was not an issue. The view in front of the room was a stunning ocean view with no buildings obstructing it. I could see the moon and sunrise beautifully. The room had a semi-open-air bath where I could relax comfortably. Since it was winter, there were no insects, making it very pleasant. Despite the sudden reservation, the staff's response was excellent! For breakfast, being able to choose dried fish was a delightful point. In Ajiro, taxis are scarce, so using your own car might be more convenient. However, the hotel arranged a taxi for me at my requested time smoothly.

    A Journey for Mature Couples

    The open-air bath in the room was great, but it was a bit disappointing that insects still came at night. I imagine there would be more insects during summer! Some measures might be necessary. The meals were served on beautiful dishes and were delicious! Although some flavors were a bit mild, overall it was good! It's an accommodation I'd like to stay at again.

    I got lost, but...

    The room offers a stunning view of the ocean from an elevated location, and the meals were excellent in both taste and variety, leaving us very satisfied. However, one issue: Although we were informed during check-in to close the blinds to prevent insects from coming in after dark, quite a number of insects still entered the room even with the blinds closed, which was quite troublesome. Unfortunately, this also made it difficult to enjoy the Onsen as it was surrounded by insects. While this may largely be due to the season, implementing some measures would enhance the experience. It feels like such a waste not to fully enjoy the beautiful location, delicious food, and Onsen with an open-air bath.

    A true hidden accommodation for adults

    From the warm welcome to the exceptional service, everything was perfect. The spacious Room, breathtaking view, outdoor and indoor baths were all amazing. Both dinner and breakfast were so plentiful that we couldn't finish them, leaving my wife deeply impressed. Thank you for helping with the surprise for my wife's birthday. Seeing her moved to tears after a long time brought tears to my eyes as well. We will definitely visit again.

    Recommended for pregnant guests

    Thank you for your hospitality during our stay. This was our first time staying at your accommodation, and we were extremely satisfied with the excellent service. Since I had informed you in advance that my wife is pregnant, the meals were specially prepared to suit her needs, which we greatly appreciated. The food was absolutely delicious. All the staff members were aware of her pregnancy and provided assistance beyond just the meals, which was very thoughtful. We visited Atami specifically to stay at this ryokan, and it turned out to be such a wonderful place that we would love to visit again.

    The hospitality was exceptional.

    It was my first time staying here, but from arrival to checkout, the service was impeccable, allowing me to relax and enjoy my stay. Even the taxi driver on the way mentioned, "The staff at Tsuki no Akari are all kind and it's a great hotel," which turned out to be absolutely true. However, there is no waiting area if you arrive early, so it’s something to keep in mind. The Onsen was fantastic with an amazing view from the window. If I may add a suggestion, it would be nice if the amenities in the scenic bath matched those in the room's bathroom. Dinner was delicious with generous portions that I believe even men would find satisfying. As it was a course meal served in-room, it took some time for all dishes to be served; however, being adults-only made for a calm and leisurely dining experience. From checking out in the room to being seen off by staff members at departure, their professionalism left such a positive impression that this has become one of the accommodations I’d love to visit again.

    Excellent cuisine and service!

    The road leading to the Ryokan just before arrival is a steep uphill, which might be challenging for large vehicles. The Plan included breakfast only, but every dish was exquisite! The seafood was abundant and delicious! The service and attention to detail were excellent, and the room with an open-air bath allowed us to fully enjoy the beautiful scenery!

    As mentioned in the reviews, the room had a moldy smell, the toilet smelled of ammonia, and the room was small. On the positive side, the staff's service was good, the view was nice, and the private open-air bath in the guest room was enjoyable. However, the aroma oil massage was underwhelming, and overall I felt that the price was too high! I wouldn't go back again!

    An Accommodation You'll Want to Visit Again

    I would love to visit again as the title suggests. Although I deducted one star due to the lack of barrier-free facilities and the restriction on guests under 18, my stay was more than satisfying even with these points considered. The ocean-view room with a private open-air bath was an ultimate relaxation space, especially during the magical sunrise hour, which was breathtakingly beautiful. The kaiseki-style meals served in the dining area were delivered from the kitchen at a perfect pace, making it preferable to in-room dining. Above all, I was deeply touched by the thoughtfulness of the staff. Even though it was just a one-night stay, I left feeling truly happy. While I cannot mention names due to policy restrictions, I was genuinely moved by the sincere service provided by all staff members, including the woman who attended us personally. I look forward to visiting again and will definitely recommend this place to my friends!

    Private open-air baths are exceptional.

    This is my second stay. The private open-air bath with the room offers an amazing view, which is why I chose to stay here again. The room is also clean. The only concerns are the relatively short breakfast hours and the steep slope, which might make it difficult for larger vehicles to access. However, everything else was perfect, so I am very satisfied. I plan to stay here again.
