We had a relaxing stay.
This was my first stay here. I was worried about the rain, but it stayed cloudy, so we managed. The scenic-view bath was incredibly relaxing—simply the best. The meals were delicious, and we enjoyed plenty of tasty fish. We chose the light-meal course, but it was still more than enough. We also enjoyed a variety of drinks, and I’d definitely like to stay again. The samue was extremely comfortable too!

Everything about it is wonderful.
The meals are so generous you may not be able to finish them, but you can take dessert back to your Room and enjoy it at your own pace. The building is old, but it feels clean. The food seems carefully prepared at the Hotel; it’s very delicious, and the ingredients are excellent. The service is outstanding. Their attentiveness was impressive—friendly check-ins without being overbearing, thoughtful awareness, and great teamwork among the staff—making this a truly wonderful Hotel. I imagine many guests return again and again. It was also nice to have an in-room bath so I could hop in whenever I wanted. I had a truly wonderful time. Thank you very much.

A very nice accommodation
I was able to take a weekday off for my regular hospital visit, so I stayed at a great rate. The sashimi and beef at dinner were excellent. I had a wonderful time listening to the sound of the waves. I wish I could have stayed for about two nights.\nBreakfast was also great—the omelet was outstanding. Thank you to all the staff for your very kind service.

Satisfied.
We stayed for one night with two people, including meals. The open-air bath on the 7th floor had a great view. The food was very satisfying, with both the taste and portion sizes more than enough. Some parts of the building show their age, but everything was well cleaned and kept tidy. The staff were courteous in every situation, and we had a comfortable stay.

This was my first stay.
I made a Reservation as a gift for someone special, and I was satisfied with everything. From the welcome at check-in to check-out, I was truly impressed by the kindness of all the staff. At dinner, I enjoyed chatting with restaurant staff member K, and the food was absolutely delicious. At breakfast the next day, K also came over to speak with us, which made it even more enjoyable—and we left completely full. This is a Hotel I would definitely like to visit again.

It takes some nerve to call this a “special room.”
The Room, the view, and all baths (including the private bath) are far too exposed to the outside, with no adequate screening. First, the in-room bath: because it is on a lower floor, it is clearly visible from the road and parking lot. Although there are window frames and a worn, cheap-looking vinyl sheet, it only covers part of the area—and there are spots it simply doesn’t reach, leaving you exposed. I had no choice but to use a bath towel and clip hangers to cover it up before getting in while still wearing my loungewear. The bath ceiling is also not fully separated from the rooms on either side—the upper part is mesh instead of a wall… what is that? The scenic-view bath is also completely exposed. Bugs and wind come in directly; even worse, nearby paths are open and there are regular passersby. Swimsuits are not allowed, yet deck chairs are placed in the middle of the bathing area—this makes no sense at all. If only there were privacy screens comparable to those by the pool or the first-floor baths, I could have felt at ease. On top of that, when I went early morning on the 24th, something like pet food was scattered near the sauna entrance and I was stunned. Are inspections actually being done properly? The private bath has no screening whatsoever either, so I didn’t undress—I just soaked my feet briefly and left. There are houses scattered very close by; this is unacceptable. Also, there’s a significant step between the washing area and tub with no handrail; even at 170 cm tall I found it difficult to get in. I also saw someone bring a young boy into the women’s bath—does this comply with Chiba Prefecture regulations? I also question staff quality. Regarding an esthetic machine: on the 22nd, while handing me a yukata robe they said “We don’t have an obi sash prepared, so tighten it firmly in front.” But since I made a Reservation for this service/amenity (?), shouldn’t they have known someone would be using it? On the 23rd, staff left their station without fitting my earmuffs; unlike on the 22nd I couldn’t listen to healing music and ended up being subjected to extremely loud shrieking from children nearby. The staff member on duty on the 24th was apparently same as previous day; when I asked them to prepare earmuffs and explain why they weren’t provided earlier day—they said they were broken then please explain properly yesterday maybe just too much trouble? Also sheets dirty asked via internal phone line replace first response wasn’t apology but “please wait” felt disgusting. Other: close restaurant good but back-of-house work noise echoes loudly footsteps too. Only food deserves praise.

We were very satisfied.
I often travel to the Izu and Hakone areas, but this Accommodation in the Boso area was also excellent. The male staff member in charge of the parking lot was kind and courteous!! When you’re welcomed so well at the entrance, it makes you feel that the whole Accommodation will be good too. Overall, all the staff were wonderful, and the Onsen was soothing and very relaxing. My companion and I even said we wouldn’t mind leaving a tip. It’s easy to see why they said they have many repeat guests. This time we chose ingredients from Hokkaido, but next time we’d like to order shrimp and abalone. Also, there was a “Hokkaido light meal” option on the menu, but it turned out to be a hearty portion (laugh). It was also great that the alcoholic drinks and juices in the refrigerator were free. However, while the Room was spacious and comfortable, the floor seemed worn with age—it creaked when I walked on it (I weigh 63 kg), so I felt it might need reinforcement (repairs?).

Thank you for a wonderful one-night stay.
To cheer up my ailing aunt even a little, my mother, niece, and I looked for a place where the three of us could stay, and this is what we found. It was an overnight trip for three women, and it seems it turned into a truly wonderful time—fun from start to finish, with delicious food. The staff were very considerate as well, and they’re already saying they want to come again; it feels like it gave her hope to keep going. Someday, I’d like to visit and see it for myself. Thank you very much for everything.

It was an Accommodation I’d like to visit again.
Before our stay, we contacted the Hotel to ask whether there was a charging Facility since we would be coming by train and car, and they told us there was. When we arrived at the entrance by car on the day, we only had to tell the gentleman who greeted us our name, and he immediately guided us to the charging area. They had even placed red cones to reserve the space for us, which made us very happy. We were truly impressed by their kindness. All of the dishes were delicious. In particular, the simmered dish from their Japanese-style creative cuisine was excellent—delicately flavored to bring out the ingredients and beautifully presented. The baths were also wonderful; from the rooftop panoramic bath we could see the Sotobo sea, which felt great. Overall, all of the staff were kind and their thoughtful hospitality was excellent. Thank you very much for taking care of us.

A Ryokan that feels ...
A Ryokan that feels casual yet offers a touch of luxury. The dinner includes a buffet, so I initially thought it might be more about quantity than quality and better suited to younger guests, but I was very satisfied because there were many high-end dishes made with carefully selected ingredients. Above all, the local fish sashimi and the Japanese black wagyu sukiyaki were outstanding. The staff served each course at just the right pace, so we could truly enjoy every dish. Although dining hours are set, it’s also nice that you can start at your preferred time within that window. Chikura doesn’t have many well-known tourist attractions and has some geographic disadvantages, so I understood their commitment to heartfelt hospitality. We returned our driver’s licenses and continue traveling using public transportation while managing chronic health conditions. Wherever we go, we always try to do some sightseeing around the Ryokan to get a real feel for the area. However, we learned that Chikura has only one taxi, prioritized for local seniors, so it can hardly meet tourists’ needs. The buses are also very inconvenient and difficult to use. Just as we were about to give up on sightseeing altogether, they kindly accommodated our request: when we happened to catch a one-way taxi ride out, they helped us finish our sightseeing and then picked us up for the return trip. We are deeply grateful for this. With many employees, there were moments that felt somewhat procedural, but overall it is a warm and welcoming Ryokan. The Room was spotless; the air conditioning was quiet; and we loved the open-air bath. What surprised us most was how much we liked the bed—two double beds side by side in a twin setup. We’ve traveled for many years, but this was the first time we’d had such spacious beds. We slept comfortably with an unusual sense of openness and felt truly refreshed afterward. Their digital services may lag behind somewhat, but for us it actually made the stay more relaxing. It seems there are many young local staff members here. Since I believe both the Ryokan and the town support each other like two wheels of a cart, I hope everyone will continue working together to energize both Chikura and this wonderful place."""

We had a relaxing stay.
I was able to relax and enjoy my stay. It was great that I could use the in-room bath anytime, and the bath on the 7th floor was also amazing. It was a shame that the weather was bad and the sea was rough, but the panoramic ocean view was wonderful. Next time, I’d like to visit again around autumn when the weather is better. The meal featured sashimi and a generous portion of spiny lobster, and everything was delicious. The steak was A5 grade and quite large; it felt like a lot for a couple, but we finished it all. They also made spiny lobster miso soup for breakfast. It was delicious. I always look forward to this hospitality each time—the day after ordering spiny lobster. I use IKYU, and I look forward to each stay because every Hotel exceeds my expectations with their hospitality.

The meals were delicious.
Both dinner and breakfast were very delicious. It was fun to be able to make and enjoy drinks freely. The Room had futons provided, and guests set them up themselves. There was a dining table in the middle of the Room, but there was no sofa or floor cushions, so it felt a bit unsettling not knowing where to relax. There was a massage chair in the veranda area, but we didn’t use it. There was an open-air bath on the terrace, but it was small and the view wasn’t great, so we went to the panoramic bath instead. The sunrise seen from the panoramic bath was beautiful. The Onsen in the large public bath was also great.

Delicious meals!
Both dinner and breakfast were very delicious, and I ate too much. For the in-Room bath, I felt that blinds should be installed. This is because even when I wanted to enjoy the outside view, a white screen-like curtain blocked it, so there was no sense of openness and I couldn’t take photos.

An Accommodation with Delicious Meals
The Accommodation itself seemed a bit old, but it was well maintained and I had a comfortable stay. The staff were also very polite and made us feel welcome. Dinner featured an assorted sashimi platter and Yamagata beef sukiyaki as the main dishes, followed by two additional plates served one after another. There was also a buffet with fried items, salads, and more, and as a couple in our 60s we couldn’t finish everything. We could also freely enjoy alcoholic drinks and soft drinks. Any dessert we couldn’t finish could be taken back to the Room, so we were able to enjoy the meal without overdoing it. Breakfast was a Japanese/Western buffet. Nothing particularly stood out, but items like grilled fish and omelets were delicious. Since our Room had a semi-open-air bath, it was great to be able to use it whenever we liked at night and in the morning. We could also see the sunrise from the Room, which was wonderful too. Overall it was very good, but it was disappointing that there was an old game corner among the Facilities and that the shop’s selection wasn’t great.

Family Trip
I had a special request regarding meals, so I contacted them in advance, and they kindly accommodated it without any hassle. The bath had a great view and was very clean, and they even prepared a sofa bed for our child, which was a big help. We would love to stay again next time.

In-Room Open-Air Bath
After check-in, I tried the open-air bath attached to the room, but the water was lukewarm. I thought maybe that was normal, but when I tried again after dinner, it was even more lukewarm. By early morning, it had turned cold. I couldn’t tolerate it anymore and contacted the front desk; they said cleaning it would fix the issue. Even after they cleaned it, it never got warm at all. In the end, the in-room open-air bath was completely unusable. I chose this Hotel specifically for the in-room open-air bath, so this was extremely disappointing. It turned into a terrible trip.

I could really feel the Hotel’s commitment to continuous improvement.
Dinner was served in courses rather than all at once, with hot and cold dishes brought out at just the right times. They put a lot of effort into the meals, but breakfast was not particularly memorable. The 7th-floor panoramic bath is wonderful—there is nothing blocking the view, and simply soaking in it is amazing. All of the staff work very hard!

For one night on a weekday in mid-March.
The building itself is quite old, so that can’t be changed, but it has been renovated including the rooms. If you don’t mind minor details, you can stay comfortably—how you feel about it is up to you. They allocate staff to guest service, so overall the service is good, and both the quality and quantity of the meals are highly satisfying. With only a small number of rooms and no group bookings accepted, I was able to relax in a calm atmosphere. If you’re looking for a leisurely stay in Sotobo (1 night with 2 meals included / around ¥20,000 per person), it may be worth considering.

It’s nearly perfect in every way.
From check-in to check-out, everything was nearly perfect. Each staff member clearly understands their role and what good customer service means. The only thing that concerned me was the slippers in the Room—they weren’t torn, but they were dirty. I stayed in the 6th-floor Room “RIN.” You can see the ocean from the Room, and soaking in the open-air bath on the balcony while looking at the moon was truly special. The meals were a combination of a set course and a buffet, and both the seafood and meat dishes were excellent. When traveling to the Boso Peninsula, I will definitely stay here again.

My wife and I stayed...
My wife and I stayed for one night on March 5. We stayed in the special Room “Sora,” which was very clean and spacious. What surprised us most was the size of the bed—it was a double bed big enough to sleep four, and we woke up feeling great. The meals were semi-buffet style, with just the right amount, which we really appreciated. All of the staff were kind, and we had a wonderful stay. Thank you very much.

A Thoughtful Accommodation
This time, I booked the “Zero Plan” for light eaters, but I was still extremely full—it made me wonder how filling the regular meal Plan must be. The staff quickly remembered me, and it was clear they shared information well among themselves, which made my stay very comfortable. During my Multiple Night Stay, I went flower picking mid-stay, and they kindly kept the flowers at the front desk until checkout the next day. When I left, they handed them back to me before I even had to ask. Not only were the meals excellent, but this Accommodation also offered outstanding service.

Overall Review. It’s honest, so please use it as a reference.
- About the Facility It’s simply too old. Given that the price is not cheap, it was disappointing. I assume the Onsen is cleaned as a matter of course, but it didn’t feel clean. Honestly, it felt like the level of a local day-use Onsen you can enter for 1,000 yen, yet this time it was a one-night, two-day stay (with breakfast and dinner) on a Friday, costing over 25,000 yen per person. - About the Room It was extremely dark. I can’t understand why that renovation was done. Unacceptable—there wasn’t even complimentary bottled drinking water. The Room has an Onsen bath, but you can’t even stretch your legs out. Some Rooms felt like they had a Goemon-style tub. - About the meals For an extra 2,000 yen per person we chose a private room, and that was very good. The portion sizes were satisfying, and the overall quality seemed high. Since it’s buffet-style and also course-based, it felt like a new experience. However, if you ask whether the sashimi was amazingly delicious—considering how close to the sea it is—I didn’t feel it was anything special. That said, this brought the total to 30,000 yen per person, so I’m left with nothing but dissatisfaction. The age of the Room and Facility—the large public bath and how worn-out everything looked (including the pool)—canceled everything out. → I may be sensitive about these things, but I couldn’t use either the large public bath or the pool—more accurately, I didn’t want to. Overall, many people leave very positive Reviews here; I think they’re mistaken. Only the meals were good. But if you’re paying this rate nowadays, there are countless truly excellent Hotels available elsewhere. Those giving high ratings must have values from a different world altogether. This is my honest Review based on staying at many Hotels—hope it helps as reference.

A Warm and Welcoming Atmosphere in Chikura, Minamiboso
Even though it was cold, sunny winter weather in Minamiboso felt pleasantly warm. Yumemisaki is located along the Chikura coastline and is close to the station. It is a seven-story Hotel, and our Room was on the 4th floor. The Room was spacious with twin beds, more than enough for two people. Looking out onto the balcony, there was a large bathtub with a jacuzzi Onsen prepared. Meals are served at the restaurant on the 2nd floor, in an almost private-room setting. In addition to the written menu, there were drinks and prepared dishes available to take freely in the center of the private-room area, offering a variety of options. The food also showed creativity and care, and I liked everything. The Onsen temperature felt slightly low at first, but the jacuzzi more than made up for it and it was completely comfortable. One night felt like a waste—it’s really a place where you’d want to stay two nights—and overall satisfaction was more than enough.

Pleasant hospitality
We stayed here for a girls’ trip with my mother in her 80s and three daughters in our 50s. As soon as we arrived and parked, a staff member hurried over and helped carry our luggage. Everyone we interacted with—the staff who explained the facilities, the waiter who served our meals, and the front desk team—was pleasant and left a great impression. We stayed in a Japanese-Western style Room. The table in the tatami area was a high table with chairs, which made things easier for my mother. We ended up chatting about old memories late into the night. The building felt a bit old, but it was clean and there was nothing that bothered us. We thoroughly enjoyed the Room, meals, and baths, and it turned into a very satisfying trip.

The meals were absolutely delicious. The sukiyaki with A5-grade beef was especially outstanding, with the meat melting in your mouth. The service was very kind and attentive, making for a highly satisfying experience. We also enjoyed the baths, including the private ones. It would have been nice to have facial cleanser and makeup remover available in the bathroom as well; they were provided at the sink area but having them in the bath would be even better.

It was a quiet and peaceful solo trip.
This was my first stay with the Women’s Solo Travel Plan. It took just over 2.5 hours by highway bus from Tokyo Station, and upon arriving at the Chikura Station bus stop, the accommodation's shuttle service was courteous and raised my expectations for the stay. Upon arrival, I received a warm welcome from everyone. Since I don’t drive, good transportation access is an important factor when choosing accommodations. Yumemisaki offers shuttle services between the accommodation and the bus stop, as well as morning shuttles that consider departure times for return transportation, making it a very reassuring experience. As part of the Women’s Solo Travel Plan benefits, I got to use an esthetic machine which felt amazing. Following that, I enjoyed a breathtaking open-air bath with panoramic ocean views—it was so moving that words cannot describe it. The room also offered stunning ocean views. Sitting in a massage chair while gazing out at the sea was incredibly relaxing. The room itself was clean and comfortable, making for an enjoyable stay where time seemed to fly by. What stood out most—and has been frequently mentioned in reviews—was how impressive the food was! Every dish looked vibrant and beautiful; when they brought out a platter of sashimi assortments, I couldn’t help but exclaim in surprise at how generous it was! In addition to set course meals, there were à la carte buffet options where you could choose your favorite drinks and dishes—a great touch! They also thoughtfully provided seating arrangements suitable for solo travelers like me so I could relax comfortably. The staff were exceptionally friendly throughout—from explaining dishes at the restaurant to ensuring all guests had an enjoyable experience with genuine hospitality felt everywhere: on shuttle rides, at reception desks or even around spa facilities and baths. Despite many adult guests staying here during my visit, both baths and restaurants remained calm without any noise disturbances—allowing me to unwind peacefully in quiet surroundings. From check-in through checkout everything went smoothly resulting into such relaxing trip overall—I’d love returning again someday!

Usually rated 4-5 points, but please note the peak season pricing.
I stayed for 40,000 to 50,000 yen per person but chose the wrong timing. If it were during the usual price range (20,000 to 30,000 yen per person), I would rate it 4-5 points. 〇 Meals The quality of the meals is emphasized and feels better than a typical ryokan. However, as mentioned earlier, I completely mistimed my stay. Additionally, I was informed on-site that additional orders were necessary, which further worsened the cost-performance impression. 〇 Room The surface areas (tatami mats and walls) have been renovated and do not feel outdated; rather, they seem well-maintained. However, considering the layout and square meters of the room, it's hard to ignore its poor cost performance. 〇 Shared Areas (hallways, front desk) It seems these areas are deprioritized when focusing on customer satisfaction or increasing unit prices. The guest floor had noticeable dirt and stains that stood out quite a bit (though if it were in the 20,000-yen range per night for one person as mentioned before, this wouldn't bother me). 〇 Service There seemed to be a large number of staff members with significant effort put into customer service costs and labor hours. On the other hand, preferences may vary depending on individual tastes. 〇 Bath The observation bath renovated in 2023 was excellent! During wintertime especially—keeping a spacious open-air bath fully operational must require considerable effort from an energy cost perspective as well—it left a very positive impression!
