    Summer Vacation Trip

This was our summer vacation trip with an elementary school-aged child, and thanks to the kind Hotel staff, we were very satisfied. We would like to stay at Allamanda Imgya Coral Village again when traveling with our child. Everything was wonderful and well prepared—snorkeling, the pool, meals at the Hotel, daybeds, a jacuzzi bath, and a fully automatic washing machine. Thank you very much.

    Wonderful beach

The beach just down from the parking area was absolutely stunning, and the snorkeling was fantastic. We will definitely return.

    A glamping-style facility

There is a second floor, and the kids were happy. From an adult perspective, the Facility feels old, and there is no sense of luxury, including the service. The cleaning was careless; there was a clump of hair from the previous guest and even some hair oil left behind.. Also, the bath is only a small jacuzzi, and it is fully visible from outside. It didn’t feel clean, so we didn’t use it. The shower room is also small and difficult to use. The whole Room felt cluttered, perhaps due to limited storage, which made me uneasy—like bugs could be hiding without you noticing. The sofa also had something soaked into it and wasn’t clean. In the end, we decided to think of it as glamping; for that standard it felt relatively clean, so we were able to enjoy ourselves, but it wasn’t worth the price. The washing machine was convenient, and the food was delicious. The key is special, and if you lose it you will be charged more than 30,000 yen..

    The morning walk was wonderful.

The staff were very kind, and the beach right in front was beautiful. Since it was my first time, I stayed at a different luxury hotel within the resort the next day. While it had a luxurious feel and was nice, I loved this beach so much that I came back here the following day. The weather was great, and I enjoyed wading into the sea up to my knees—it felt wonderful. Next time, I'll stay at this hotel for a multiple night stay! Having two bedrooms in the room along with a microwave and washing machine was very convenient. The bathtub is only available as an outdoor jacuzzi, so on windy or cold days it might be slightly inconvenient; however, overall my stay was comfortable. I joined the morning walk program where we had perfect weather and even got to enjoy an off-season private experience! The explanations about plants were fascinating, making it both fun and fulfilling. My child kept asking for quizzes repeatedly—thank you for your patience despite causing some trouble! Thank you also for taking us to Alamanda to feed turtles. Although it seemed quiet during off-season with fewer people around, there were surprisingly many children competing over turtle food during feeding time! Unfortunately, adults cannot participate in feeding activities if they go alone since food is not provided for them. This resort is enjoyable even without needing a car; however, having simple meals like rice balls (onigiri), sandwiches or light bento boxes available within the hotel or resort would be fantastic—especially something easy for kids to eat quickly! There are picnic-friendly spots in nearby parks where rice balls would have been perfect... It would be great if such options could be ordered from hotels or made more accessible somehow. Every day now I'm thinking about when I'll get another chance to visit Miyako Island again!

The cheerful atmosphere from before is no longer present, which is disappointing.

I have been using Shigira Resort every year, but after visiting Ingya Coral Village for the first time in two years, I noticed a significant decline in staff quality. While the male staff were friendly and smiling, many of the female staff seemed uninterested and unapproachable. During dinner, when my child accidentally broke a glass, I expressed my gratitude and apologized to the staff who cleaned it up, but they ignored me, which was shocking. Additionally, during the Chinsuko-making experience, the staff appeared as though they were reluctantly doing their job, which dampened our vacation mood. The dinner buffet also had far too few options for its price. While I do not expect to be overly pampered as a "guest," I sincerely hope that the resort can return to providing at least basic cheerful service and proper manners to ensure guests have a pleasant experience.

The service quality has declined, ruining the resort experience.

As a fan of Shigira Resort and a repeat guest, I was shocked by the quality of service at Ingya Coral Village this time. During my previous stay, the hospitality was excellent, but on this occasion, several female staff members displayed very cold and dismissive attitudes throughout. In particular, the woman in charge during dinner never smiled and gave rushed explanations. When my child accidentally broke a glass, we apologized profusely as it was our fault and thanked her for cleaning up. However, she ignored us completely. Ignoring a guest's apology is unacceptable in any service industry. Additionally, during the chinsuko-making activity experience, the female staff member in charge seemed very unenthusiastic and acted as if she were doing it reluctantly. Considering that guests are paying a significant amount of money—which contributes to their salaries—this attitude is disappointing. The only saving grace was the cheerful demeanor of some male staff members; however, overall poor service dampened our vacation mood significantly. I am hesitant about returning for another stay in the future.

Limited dinner buffet selection and unwelcoming service.

Stayed after 2 years. Previously, the accommodation was very lively, but this time the overall response from the staff (especially female staff) felt dull and of lower quality. As for dinner, while the taste quality was not bad, a buffet priced at 6,600 yen per person had an overwhelmingly limited selection. The cost performance is poor, and satisfaction is low. This definitely needs improvement. Additionally, during the meal when a child accidentally broke a glass, the staff's response was extremely cold. Although we caused trouble and expressed our gratitude and apologies when they cleaned up, we were ignored. We are not expecting special hospitality but would appreciate basic human communication and standard customer service. As frequent visitors who love Shigira Resort, this decline in quality is truly disappointing.

I loved this resort, but I was surprised by the decline in staff quality.

I visit Miyako Island 2-3 times a year and often stay at Shigira Resort properties like Mirage and Allamanda. This was my first stay at Ingya Coral Village in two years, but the once bright and hospitable atmosphere has completely changed, which was very disappointing. While the male staff maintained their friendly demeanor as before, the attitude of several female staff members was unacceptable. Overall, they seemed uninterested, lacked smiles, and created a gloomy atmosphere. The service during dinner was particularly poor. When my child accidentally broke a glass, I fully acknowledged our carelessness and expressed both gratitude and an apology when it was cleaned up; however, I was completely ignored. It wasn’t due to distance or inaudibility. Experiencing such cold behavior while on vacation left me feeling very uncomfortable. Additionally, during the Chinsuko-making experience session, the staff member’s tone felt monotonous and unenthusiastic as if they were being forced to do it. Paying for this kind of experience only to be met with such an attitude ruined the vacation mood. As for dinner buffet offerings—while each dish tasted fine—the variety felt insufficient given its price of 6,600 yen per person. I am not asking for excessive service; I simply want basic hospitality without unpleasant experiences at a resort destination. Since this is one of my favorite places to visit, I sincerely hope improvements are made promptly.

    Summer Vacation

We stayed here for the first time as a family. The staff were very kind, and the Facility was perfect. Thank you so much!!! Our children were extremely happy. One suggestion: it would be great if there were a few more options at the breakfast buffet.

    Sea Turtles on the Beach

On the first day, we met sea turtles at the beach in front of the Hotel! Our Room was right by the front desk, so I was amazed that it only took a minute to see them. The place was so quiet and felt like a hidden gem. The breakfast, pool, and beach access were all incredibly convenient with no unnecessary walking paths. The Facility had everything we needed. Having a washer-dryer in the Room was unbelievably convenient. I also loved the shampoo provided as an amenity and considered buying it at the shop but forgot to do so. When I checked online later, it wasn’t available anywhere and cost 500 yen more than expected. Do you know where I can find it? Our child became obsessed with Choco-chan, the Lovot robot, constantly saying "I'll go check on her!" Sorry for any trouble caused! Taking the shuttle bus to restaurants within the resort was both convenient and fun. We wanted to ride a tuk-tuk but weren’t sure how—any tips?

Let me take this opportunity to express my gratitude.

It has been nearly 30 years since my first visit to Okinawa. Every year, I create countless cherished memories during my trips. This year was no exception, with an unforgettable experience. On the morning of the second day, my husband suddenly fell ill and had to be taken to the hospital by ambulance. The swift response at that moment and the attentive support afterward were remarkable. The General Manager and all staff shared updates on his condition with us, offering warm words and thoughtful care that deeply moved me. What could have been a distressing situation during our trip was made manageable thanks to everyone's coordination and support, allowing us to remain calm and reassured throughout. I am truly grateful for everything you did for us—thank you so much for your kindness and assistance. Next time, we hope to visit again in perfect health so we can fully enjoy Miyako Island once more. We look forward to staying with you again when that time comes. Lastly, as climate change and natural disasters continue to pose challenges globally, please take care of yourselves in these difficult times. Thank you once again for everything!

Enjoy your stay at Shigira Resort.

The staff provided valuable information about snorkeling and the area, making our stay fulfilling. Shigira Resort offers excellent facilities. From 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, you can request a tuk-tuk, and there is also a resort shuttle bus available. We visited the turtle feeding at Shigira Bayside Suite Allamanda at 9:30 AM, and used the shuttle service to go to Shigira Beach, Golden Onsen, and restaurants. The Shigira Members App is convenient to use. The Shigira Lift is free of charge. Inga Beach near the hotel was great for snorkeling as well as enjoying sunrise and stargazing. For sunrise views, Inga Observatory is recommended; for stargazing, Hakuei Fishing Port is also a good spot. At night near Inga Observatory, we spotted coconut crabs—flashlights are available for rent. We also saw Tsumaguro cicadas in this area. We enjoyed BBQ at Paikaji Yatai Village while matching it with their stage performance schedule—it was fun listening to island songs on stage! Early reservation is necessary. For snorkeling within the resort during low tide, Inga Beach, Ingya Marine Garden, Shigira Beach, and Waiwai Beach are enjoyable options. During high tide from this hotel’s location, Yoshino Coast and Aragusuku Coast are relatively close by and convenient. Be sure to visit Nakahara Limestone Cave as well! Located on the outskirts of the resort area with abundant nature around us made it relaxing throughout our stay. Laundry detergent was replenished daily; room layout was comfortable for staying in. Breakfast could improve by incorporating more local ingredients. Please note that rooms do not offer ocean views or much scenic outlooks overall.

    Among the Shigira Re...

Among the Shigira Resort in Miyakojima, Ingya is the best for beaches and snorkeling points. The Marine Garden is enjoyable for both adults and children. Beautiful flowers are in bloom, and to fully enjoy the resort, having a table on the balcony is ideal. The insect repellent worked well, so it was fine to keep the windows open. Although there was an inconvenience when the water heater suddenly broke down, they quickly arranged access to a vacant room's bath and completed repairs by the next afternoon. Since I was traveling with my elderly parents, they kindly changed our room to one closer to the front desk. I would love to visit again!

    Perfect Resort for Families

Ideal for families with small children. Offers an experience worth more than the price. The Room is not very spacious but provides a comfortable space where everyone can sleep and relax. Equipped with 4 air conditioners and 1 dehumidifier, ensuring a very pleasant atmosphere. The jacuzzi in the bathroom is excellent. The washer-dryer is also extremely helpful for parents with kids frequently going in and out of the sea.

    One-night stay is recommended.

The most concerning issue was the cleaning of the guest rooms. Instead of asking during check-in whether we would like cleaning (vacuuming) during our stay, it was briefly explained and left as a request-based system by 9 AM each day. Being busy with sightseeing, we forgot to make a request and the floors were not cleaned even once during our stay. The coffee and tea packs provided in the room were not replenished either; apparently, you can get them at the front desk upon request. However, if you don’t go to ask for them yourself, no matter how many nights you stay, you'll only have one day's worth of coffee and green tea. It felt like there was an obvious intention to minimize effort and costs. Additionally, the shower and jacuzzi in the room stopped providing hot water after running for more than 20 minutes. Staying for three nights made this quite stressful since I constantly had to keep track of how long I’d been using hot water while bathing. For families washing multiple small children or elderly people who feel cold easily, using hot water continuously for over 20 minutes is common. When this was explained at check-in, the staff member looked at us as if saying "Who would ever need that much time?" which was surprising. There were other issues too but I'll leave it at that. Excluding problems with hot water supply or insects, staying here for just one night might be comfortable enough. However, I found out on-site that instead of one accommodation per building as expected, there are four accommodations per building—so noise from neighboring rooms could be heard clearly.

    There were various p...

There were various points to critique, but overall satisfaction was decent. Given the location and the detached room with a jacuzzi at this price, it feels reasonable. The most disappointing aspect was the hotel restaurant. I only had breakfast, but it could use some improvement in quality. Despite being authentic, the mozuku wasn't tasty, the pancakes were dry, and the side dishes lacked flavor overall. (Since the Tabelog rating was mediocre, we reserved a yakiniku restaurant accessible by the Shigira Resort shuttle bus for dinner. It was delicious.) The person who guided us during check-in was foreign, and there were several instances where I couldn't understand what was being said. Luggage wasn't carried for us. The scale's battery was dead. A faint noise from the air conditioner was bothersome and kept me awake. Since it was January, I turned it off, but it seems maintenance is needed before it gets hot. Nonetheless, it was nice to relax in the jacuzzi with a drink of choice. As it was our third stay, having a washing machine in the room was appreciated. After breakfast, we took a walk around the area, and the coral inlet was beautiful.

Great for families with children, as it's close to the beach!

It took less than 5 minutes to get to the beach from the room, and the beach was mostly used by people staying at this hotel, so it wasn't crowded at all. It was clean and perfect. Other hotels in the same chain seem to have beaches that are far away, so I prefer this place again next time. There are shuttle buses, but it was nice to be able to walk back to the room right after swimming in the sea! I was also able to take a quick dip before checking out, which was satisfying. I want to stay here again. The villa was two stories with two large beds, and honestly, it was too big for two adults and one child, but it was great.
