Convenient shuttle bus service.
It was pouring rain on the day of our stay, and Kyoto Station was crowded with tourists (mostly foreigners) waiting for taxis, so being able to use the Hotel shuttle bus was extremely convenient and helpful. The Hotel has a large public bath and a guest-only lounge, which made it easy to relax. Breakfast was served at Endo, famous for tempura. I was looking forward to having tempura at breakfast as well, but if you go early in the morning there are only two options (eggplant and sweet potato), so please be aware. I wish they could fry small portions of several varieties so we could try more. At checkout the next day, the lobby was packed with a large group of foreign guests, but a female staff member noticed me and handled my checkout quickly, which I really appreciated.

It was delicious.
This was my first stay. It’s a bit far from Kyoto Station, but the shuttle bus made it convenient. The location was quiet, which I appreciated. Maybe this is common in Kyoto, but the hotel seemed to be almost entirely international guests—we felt like we were the only Japanese guests. I didn’t use the large public bath, but the bath in our Room was very nice. Breakfast was crowded and we waited a little, but we were shown to a quiet table and could enjoy our meal in a relaxed atmosphere. It was a buffet with a great selection of tasty dishes, and we were very satisfied. The nut sweets we received as a Diamond benefit were exceptionally delicious; I liked them so much that I bought some at the Ginza shop.

Adult Hotel
My spouse and I stayed here as a couple. We chose this Hotel based on a recommendation from an acquaintance. It was in a great location for exploring Gion. The staff were kind and very helpful. My husband and I agreed that the breakfast was better than at any other Hotel. We wanted to eat more, but we were full and very satisfied. We were also happy to enjoy Ogawa Coffee’s coffee. We would love to stay again. Thank you very much for everything!

Thank you for your continued support.
Thank you always for your wonderful hospitality at The Celestine Hotels. I had long decided that when I visited Kyoto for the first time, I would stay here. After actually staying with you, I was continually impressed until checkout by the staff’s attentive and warm service. I truly feel from the bottom of my heart that choosing to stay here was the right decision. After checkout, I immediately made a Reservation for my next stay. I look forward to visiting again, and I appreciate your continued support next time as well. Thank you very much for everything.

A modern and comfortable Hotel
I had a very positive impression. The Room was so spotless it felt newly renovated, with thoughtful touches like Byredo body lotion. The bath was clean and well-appointed, and breakfast was delicious, with tempura and Kyoto-style dishes. There is also a Shuttle Service to Kyoto Station, so it was a very comfortable Hotel, and the staff were consistently kind with wonderful smiles, creating a reassuring sense of hospitality. The location is also great—close to Kiyomizu-dera Temple and Gion, with many attractions within walking distance. I usually prefer classic Hotels or Ryokan, but I found this Hotel truly excellent as well.

Michelin?
I don’t usually write a Review, but this time I was disappointed from New Year’s Day, so I’m posting for the first time. The building felt very Kyoto-like and the location was good. The Room was clean, but dust had accumulated in high places (common in many hotels). The amenities may be “sustainable,” but they weren’t appealing. At the very least, I wish the shampoo were better quality. It’s fine if you’re just sleeping, but it’s too small to spend much time in; on the first floor people walk right past the window outside, so you can’t leave the curtains open. About 80–90% of guests were foreigners. I used the large public bath twice, and on three occasions I saw foreign guests entering wearing swimsuits and taking flash photos while being warned by Hotel staff—so it wasn’t relaxing. What disappointed me enough to lower my overall impression of the Hotel was the food. The breakfast buffet was average. Since there is a local high-end tempura restaurant called “Yasaka Endo” inside the Hotel, I had high expectations and made a Reservation for their tempura course dinner on New Year’s Day at about ¥20,000 per person. Children were charged the same price for the same menu as well, so we exchanged messages multiple times in advance to request substitutions for ingredients they couldn’t eat—but none of it was reflected at all on the day. The replacement for sea urchin tempura was a single slice of lotus root; scallop tempura that should have been topped with caviar simply came without caviar; and what replaced sea cucumber was komatsuna greens and yuba dressed appetizer that had been available at breakfast buffet. It became clear to me that although we discussed it beforehand, they simply removed premium ingredients without putting any thought into proper alternatives. The shrimp tempura seemed like what was served at breakfast? We were given three thin black tiger prawns—shocking for a ¥20,000 course at a high-end tempura restaurant. On top of that, it didn’t taste good enough that I didn’t even want to eat one piece. It made me feel like they assumed no one would complain and looked down on us. As for beef as well, I think it would taste better grilled than as tempura. If this is meant to be a luxury restaurant, I want them to take pride in serving delicious ingredients worthy of their prices. (After my complaint, the Hotel responded promptly.) I had been looking forward to welcoming New Year with great food at this Hotel, so this outcome was extremely disappointing. The Reviews were highly rated (mostly by foreign guests), and I thought choosing a five-star Hotel awarded one Michelin Key would be safe—but it made me wonder what Michelin or five-star standards actually mean. This ended up being very critical feedback; however, since the location is good, it may be fine as-is for room-only stays or for foreigners or younger travelers who don’t care much about food quality or comfort within the Hotel Room itself. As someone who isn’t young anymore, I want good food and comfort from a Hotel stay.

Highly recommended Hotel.
Kyoto offers countless Hotels, but this one excels in every aspect, including guest rooms and service. Looking forward to the next stay!

Stayed for 2 nights based on a friend's recommendation. Conveniently located within walking distance to tourist spots and restaurants. The room, service, breakfast, and everything else were comfortable, quiet, and truly excellent accommodation. The only concern was the room door—it was difficult to pass through due to the narrow space for opening and closing. However, everything else was so pleasant that I would love to visit again if given the chance.

Hotel The Celestine
The Hotel is very quiet. From the beautiful entrance with calming colors and the scent of incense, I was able to enjoy a relaxing stay. The staff's service was excellent, providing detailed assistance despite the large number of guests, including guidance on transportation, checking allergy-friendly menus, recommending sightseeing spots, and showing me to my Room. For breakfast, I requested a private room and enjoyed a buffet-style meal in peace. Every dish was visually appealing and delicious, leaving me completely satisfied. The Kyoto cuisine paired perfectly with rice from Hachidaime Gihei and à la carte items using bread from Shinshindo made for a delightful start to the day. I've stayed at many Hotels in Kyoto before, but this one stands out for its convenient location for sightseeing and comes highly recommended!

A quiet and relaxing Hotel.
The quiet and calm atmosphere, unlike the bustling feel of large Hotels, was very pleasant. The public bath had a chic black design, which I found to be very tasteful. The Room requires you to take off your shoes upon entering, but it is barrier-free with no steps. While this is good, as someone who uses a cane, I felt that having a chair or bench would make it easier to take off and put on shoes. In Rooms where you can enter with your shoes on, I usually sit on the sofa or bed inside to do so; however, in this Room, I had no choice but to sit near the door on the floor. That was my only concern. Overall though, I was very satisfied!

Anniversary Trip
I stayed at the Hotel again after a long time. This time, I requested a surprise cake just before my stay, and they prepared an incredibly delicious cake. My wife was very surprised and absolutely satisfied with the taste. The staff at the Hotel provided such pleasant service. This is a Hotel I always look forward to visiting. Thank you so much!

A wonderful accommodation.
Attentive and warm hospitality Stylish and functional guest rooms Fragrant bath amenities Comfortable public bath equipped with high-performance hair dryers Delicious breakfast from a tempura restaurant Convenient location within walking distance to Kodaiji Temple and Shijo Kawaramachi. A perfect stay with everything you could ask for. I would love to visit again!

Heartfelt and exceptional hospitality
This was my first stay at this accommodation, and from the moment I made the reservation, I received attentive support, making it a truly relaxing and comfortable experience. The warm smiles of the staff, their thoughtful and precise service, tasteful flower arrangements, efficient layout, and the serene greenery of the garden created an incredibly pleasant atmosphere. I also enjoyed exquisite tempura from a renowned restaurant within the hotel at dinner. This experience made me fall even more in love with Kyoto. Thank you once again! The accommodation is within walking distance of Kennin-ji Temple, a charming gallery with sukiya-style architecture, and Tempura Endo Main Store. Despite being in a central location, Celestine Hotel feels like a tranquil hidden retreat. I would love to visit again to further experience Japan's true spirit of hospitality!

I had a very comfortable stay. I enjoyed both dinner and breakfast, and they were extremely delicious and satisfying. I was especially impressed by the variety and quality of the breakfast menu—truly lived up to its reputation. The large public bath was also a great relief for my tired body after sightseeing. I will definitely stay here again. Thank you very much!

The service was excellent.
I used this accommodation for the first time to explore Gion. Since it was cherry blossom season, the rates were on the higher side. The location is convenient for sightseeing, allowing easy access to various attractions by foot or a single subway ride without worrying about traffic congestion, which was very pleasant. The Shuttle Service to the station was also very convenient. The Room was spacious and functional, and breakfast was delicious; however, considering the price, I felt that there could be improvements in amenities and lounge quality.

I stayed to enjoy sightseeing around Gion. It was so quiet and very comfortable in the room that I thought there were no other guests. I had a pleasant stay, but come to think of it, there were no Diamond member benefits, so I rated the service as 4.

Relax with your husband
We were able to explore the Higashiyama area in Kyoto. Inside the Hotel, it was unexpectedly spacious and luxurious from its exterior, stylish yet somehow distinctly Japanese. We were very satisfied. You can go to the large public bath in a yukata, making it feel like a Ryokan despite being a Hotel. The flowers were wonderfully cute and spring-like, which brightened our spirits. We would love to visit again.

It was a wonderful Hotel!
The staff's service, the hotel's room, and the bath were all wonderful. The room was quite spacious, with plenty of storage, making it very convenient. We dined at the tempura restaurant Enfu (Ento) inside, but it seems reservations are required. The tempura was very delicious, but the explanation from the young part-time worker? was insufficient (he referred to Manganji peppers as shichimi togarashi...), which was a bit surprising. The parking lot was in a somewhat hard-to-find location, but I think a hotel with parking in this area is valuable, and it was very easy to park. At first, I couldn't find the parking lot and was wandering around, but a staff member ran over to guide me. Thank you very much.

It's terrible.
At the dining area Endo in the lobby, I had tempura at night, but the tempura sauce was cold, the batter was dry, and they tried to take my order while I was left standing at the entrance. It was an unbelievable level for the price. I do not recommend it to those who understand taste.

In Kyoto, many hotels do not have parking lots, but this one has a flat parking lot, which was really helpful. Also, I appreciated the attentiveness of the staff.

The building is splendid, the room is comfortable, the breakfast is delicious, and the location is excellent for sightseeing. There were hardly any Japanese guests. Since groups of guests come, you need to be careful about the timing of check-in and other activities. The lounge was too small and felt cramped. I was initially confused about how to use the furniture in the room. Despite writing various things, it seems like it will become my regular Stays in Kyoto. Thank you very much.

This is my third time using this service. The convenience is great, the room is quiet and comfortable, and the bath is spacious, which is appreciated after a long day of walking. The shuttle service to Kyoto Station, which runs several times a day, is also very helpful, especially since it's been difficult to catch a taxi recently.

It was a lovely hotel.
Although my review is late, I highly recommend this hotel. When visiting Kyoto, I usually choose a hotel directly connected to the station since I spend little time there. However, this time, as my main activities were dining and shopping around the Gion area, I stayed at Celestine. The location was better than I expected, allowing me to visit my desired shops and return to the hotel to relax whenever I got tired. I was able to relax in the room and enjoy a leisurely soak in the large public bath. The breakfast was also very delicious, especially the freshly fried tempura. The shuttle bus to Kyoto Station was convenient. It was nice to be able to wait in the lounge, and the staff would come to call us when it was time. (All the staff provided pleasant service, but I was particularly grateful to the person at the car drop-off.) It was a different kind of trip to Kyoto than usual, and I made good memories. Thank you very much.
