    International Hotel Standard

    I made the Reservation because the parking lot is spacious and there is a shared bath. It’s not easy to reach the Hotel by phone from outside; it takes an extra step. Even from the in-room phone, you can’t reach the front desk—typical of foreign-owned Hotels. As expected, most staff were Asian foreigners, but everyone was kind and helpful.

    I wanted to see the ...

    I wanted to see the “BIWAKO” monument when I came to Lake Biwa, so I chose this Hotel for the last day of my trip. The view was amazing, and I was very satisfied with both the Room and the Onsen. The Room was spacious enough for three people to relax comfortably, and it was great to be able to enjoy the Onsen in the Room. When I stay at Lake Biwa again, I definitely want to stay here again.

    The staff provides pleasant service at the Hotel.

    The Hotel staff, including the restaurant team, provided exceptionally polite and pleasant service, making meal times especially comfortable. During this stay, I realized the great value of choosing a Plan with an Onsen in the Room. The public bath is a bit far, and moving around in yukata and slippers was honestly slightly inconvenient. Additionally, as there were many children in the shared spaces, it felt less relaxing at times. Therefore, I believe enjoying a more relaxed stay in your Room is the best way to experience what this Hotel has to offer. The staff's hospitality is outstanding, so I highly recommend this Hotel for those who prioritize spending time in their Room.

    The Hotel staff provided attentive service, allowing us to have a pleasant stay. Additionally, the sports Facility was well-equipped, and our entire family had an enjoyable time. Thank you for the delicious meals as well.

    Lake Biwa View

    Returned from a Hokuriku trip and arrived around 4:50 PM. The staff immediately came to take care of our luggage, allowing us to enjoy the planetarium show at 5 PM. The Room was spacious, very clean, and the bath was excellent. However, it was disappointing that the morning dew covered the windows, obstructing the beautiful Lake Biwa view. As someone who prefers pajamas over yukata, I wished for samue or nightwear options. The made-to-order egg dish served at breakfast was brought to our table and tasted delicious.

    The breakfast buffet is exceptionally delicious.

    I stayed in a Japanese-style room with my mother and sister. Upon entering the room after check-in, the futons were already laid out. The quality of the comforters was evident in their warmth. The entire facility had been renovated, giving it a clean and beautiful appearance. We chose a plan that included access to the planetarium, which was both nostalgic and educational. There are various other activities available, so I wish I had checked beforehand. The large public bath was spacious and relaxing with its Onsen experience. Although Lake Biwa should have been visible from the 12th-floor breakfast venue, unfortunately, cloudy weather obscured the view—another reason for me to revisit! The variety of omelets at breakfast excited me; it was a high-quality buffet overall. Coffee was provided in paper cups for guests to take back to their rooms, which was convenient. The complimentary sparkling wine was easy to drink and enjoyable. Thank you very much! The "dashi" soup offered in the lobby was also delicious. All staff members were friendly and made my stay pleasant. If only it were slightly more affordable, I would visit more frequently—apologies for deducting one star due to this reason!

    City View

    We visited for a family trip. As expected from a Hotel managed by Mori Trust, the casual yet luxurious atmosphere was evident in the staff, Hotel lobby, lounge, and even the hallway leading to the Room. There were many international tourists sharing the elevator with us, giving it an international vibe; however, it was slightly disappointing to find toilet paper discarded in a corner of the elevator at one point. That said, the city-side view was excellent as we could see Biwako Ohashi Bridge and a futsal practice field! It’s definitely a Hotel we’d like to visit again.

    Great view

    The view and breakfast were worth more than the price. The view from the 4th floor was amazing. However, the scent upon entering the Hotel was quite strong and unpleasant. It might be a matter of preference, but a subtler fragrance would be better. Also, while the younger staff members were very kind and provided excellent service, I felt slightly disappointed with an older staff member who seemed experienced but avoided eye contact during interaction. Was it because we checked in late? Other than that, I felt it was worth more than what we paid for.

    Beautiful Hotel by the Shores of Lake Biwa

    Stayed with no meals included, the lake view room was very spacious and the bathroom facilities were comfortable. There were many guests from the mainland, and the elevator and front desk areas were quite noisy, so I did not use the Onsen in the large public bath. Even if you don't use it, a Hot Spring Tax is charged. Other than the guest demographics, everything was good. Not the hotel's fault, but on Saturday night there was loud noise from bikers going back and forth on the road right in front of the hotel.

    Delicious dishes that evoke the feeling of autumn

    The restaurant staff were very kind again this time, engaging with our little one by talking and waving, which kept our child in a great mood and allowed us to enjoy a relaxing family meal. For dinner, we had a grilled course meal that was full of seasonal flavors, as if welcoming autumn early. The dishes featured fresh local fruits, chestnuts, mushrooms, and more, making us feel the arrival of autumn while enjoying the beautifully presented and delicious food. The front desk area seems to have changed slightly as well. The warm smiles and kind words were comforting. Even after check-out, we were able to let our child play in the kids' room, making it a truly enjoyable Hotel stay for our trip. Thank you very much!

    Marriott Quality? Invest in Facility and Hospitality - Dining Experience is Exceptional

    This was my second stay. I couldn't forget the previous meal and the beauty of the early winter lake, so this time I came with my family. Despite parking the car at the entrance, no one came out to assist. As we started unloading our luggage, a staff member arrived with a cart. The room offered a stunning view overlooking the lake, but the air conditioning was poor, causing discomfort and interrupted sleep. The bath is located far from the guest rooms and inconveniently combined with a gym facility. While it’s rich in iron content and potentially great, both baths had identical temperatures without any variation or creativity. The depth made it impossible to lie down or relax fully—more suited for young people just rinsing off sweat. The sauna was its saving grace. The ventilation fan in the bath area resembled something from a construction site—large and noisy. Walking to the bath took time, and only thin paper slippers were provided, making walking on concrete floors extremely uncomfortable. This Facility seems primarily designed for young couples with children; however, even then, shallow pools for kids were not operational (though given how hot it was outside, children likely wouldn’t have wanted to play). It’s disheartening that some facilities remain unused as they did during my last visit—a reflection of declining birth rates perhaps? It feels like this Hotel once catered to marine sports enthusiasts but now feels desolate. Dinner featured Japanese cuisine with playful Western touches that were enjoyable; breakfast offered great variety—I ate too much! However, considering it's under Marriott's name—it deserves more investment to become a truly exceptional Hotel again instead of feeling incomplete. With such an excellent location and outstanding meals—it’s heartbreaking not seeing its full potential realized!

    Kids' Room

    We were a bit worried about spending time in the room with our crawling baby, but we chose a twin Room with an Onsen instead of a Japanese-style room because it looked great. The kids' room on the first floor was spacious and filled with plenty of toys! Both adults and children had a relaxing and enjoyable time. At the restaurant, staff members kindly interacted with our baby during both dinner and breakfast, allowing us to enjoy delicious meals. Thank you very much!

    The bath did not feel like a typical hotel bath!

    I was planning to check in late and wanted to relax in a bath without leaving the room, so I chose a room with an Onsen, and I was very satisfied! The room was spacious and beautifully clean. The large windows offered a stunning view of Lake Biwa from the sofa by the window, which lifted my spirits from the morning. The breakfast was also very satisfying with a wide variety of options. The staff were all very friendly, making my stay pleasant. I had an omelet with truffle salt made for me, and it was absolutely delicious! Although I didn’t use them myself, the shared Onsen facilities are well-equipped, making this place ideal for family stays.

    Meals are highly satisfying.

    I reserved a Japanese-style room for 4 people, but the room was small, old, and below expectations. At the onsen facility entrance, I wasn't informed at the front desk that a card key was required, so I had to return to the room to get it. The shoe locker key upon departure was difficult to open, and the vending machine outside the bath did not accept new 1,000 yen bills, so I couldn't purchase anything. Despite these issues, both breakfast and dinner were very satisfying. Overall, it resulted in an average rating. Considering the high price, the service and facilities were quite low-level. Disappointing.

    The room features the finest flowing Onsen!

    I chose a Room with an Onsen, and it was the perfect decision. It was my first time enjoying a private flowing Onsen in the Room. I soaked in it three times during our one-night stay—it was amazing! After enjoying free table tennis and basketball at the directly connected gymnasium, we had dinner at the 12th-floor restaurant. We indulged in an Omi beef course for 15,000 yen. Since it was my mother-in-law's birthday, they celebrated with a dessert plate for her. When my 9-year-old son felt unwell with stomach issues and a fever, they promptly provided us with an ice pillow and cooling sheets, which were incredibly helpful. In the morning, we were delighted to see Lake Biwa covered in a blanket of snow—a breathtaking sight! I’d love to come back in summer for cycling and other activities.

    New Year's Holiday

    Staying on New Year's Day We stayed in a spacious room with a panoramic view of Lake Biwa. For dinner, we enjoyed local gourmet dishes from Shiga Prefecture, and for breakfast, we had ozoni and osechi dishes, allowing us to savor the New Year's atmosphere. Every dish was delicious. To pass the time between check-in and dinner, we enjoyed playing table tennis in the large gymnasium. If I have the opportunity to visit Shiga Prefecture again, I would like to use this property again.

    The Room is spacious.

    I stayed again because I had stayed with my family before and it was very good. The room was spacious and clean, and it was a room with a panoramic view of Lake Biwa, so my parents who stayed with me were very happy. All the staff were kind and helpful, and I am grateful.     The room offered a full view of Lake Biwa, and we enjoyed the panoramic scenery from the top-floor restaurant. The seasonal dishes and Omi beef for dinner were very delicious. The full course, which lasted over two hours including dessert, was a bit much for the ladies. The staff's service was excellent.

    I had a very relaxin...

    I had a very relaxing time. The room was spacious, giving a resort-like feel. Meals included all-you-can-drink alcohol, and breakfast was a morning with a panoramic view of Lake Biwa. Considering the price, the quality was high, and I would like to use it again. However, there was only a hairdryer in the bathroom, and I thought it would be nice to have an amenity buffet. Thank you for the wonderful time.

    The best resort hotel

    It was very comfortable. I visited with my parents. There were many guests with children due to the summer vacation, and honestly, I was a bit worried, but all the children were so adorable and well-behaved that it was not unpleasant at all; rather, it was a delightful and enjoyable stay. The staff welcomed us warmly with smiles, which was a very reassuring moment. I will visit again at the end of the year. It was a bit inconvenient that some amenities had to be requested, but I thought it was understandable given the current trends.
