Thank you for hosting me for the first time.

This was our first time staying here, and we were very well taken care of. From the warm welcome upon arrival, we were served tea and delicious sweets before being shown to our Room. The guest Room had a clean, modern Japanese style, and we were truly impressed by the wonderful view of the sea from anywhere in the Room—even from the bath. In addition, the Onsen bath had silky, slightly thick water that felt great and left our skin smooth; we enjoyed it many times and were completely satisfied. Both dinner and breakfast were more than enough in quantity, and every dish was delicious. We initially thought the dining area seating might be close together, but it wasn’t at all; we enjoyed chatting while listening to explanations about the dishes from the proprietress and staff. We had been looking for an Accommodation where we could simply relax, enjoy great food, and soak in good hot water—and this was a wonderful Accommodation where we could truly take our time. We’re happy to have found an Accommodation that makes us think, “We definitely want to come again in a different season.”

    The best Accommodation

This trip was wonderful again. The Accommodation was clean, and the staff were very kind. Thank you very much! It was a truly memorable day!

    What a shame.

Despite the reasonable price, the meals were very disappointing. I appreciated the nearly 20,000 yen discount, but it seems that the quality of the food was lowered accordingly. This defeats the purpose and cut my enjoyment of the trip in half. From now on, I will avoid small privately run accommodations with only a few rooms.

    A Compact Accommodation

It was a small Accommodation with only four Rooms. The Room was compact, but it was comfortable for two people, and the Onsen was great because we could bathe while enjoying spectacular views. The meals were also delicious, and we enjoyed local specialties. However, since there was no large public bath or lounge, we ended up with extra time on our hands. We had stayed in the same Kyotango area the night before, so that may have made us feel that way even more. We would like to visit again in a different season. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

    There are many issues.

I’m deeply disappointed that I was greeted with such an annoyed attitude even though I arrived only 30 minutes before the reception start time. I don’t believe that being a guest makes me “important.” Before I could even say, “Sorry for arriving early,” I was met in the parking lot with an extremely displeased look and gestures that seemed to say, “Get out of this area.” In an unfamiliar place for the first time, it’s unavoidable that arrival times may be a little early or late. Still, I felt this response was unacceptable. The view from the Accommodation was great and the food was delicious, which makes it all the more disappointing. My first impression upon arriving at the Accommodation was overwhelmingly negative. It may be a good Accommodation for those who can tolerate that.

Enjoy Onsen and fresh spring seafood from the Sea of Japan at our small Accommodation.

This was my first time visiting in spring to enjoy seafood from the Sea of Japan. I came mainly for the Onsen, but the Room, the meals, and your thoughtful hospitality all exceeded my expectations. The firefly squid, Kasumi red snow crab, and nodoguro were especially memorable. It was a delightful surprise that the umami and sweetness of sea bream and hiramasa made the locally produced wine taste even better. The bamboo shoot rice was also unforgettable—an excellent dish where I could truly savor both the beautifully white, tender bamboo shoots and freshly cooked white rice. The bath in the Room was always filled at the perfect temperature, and when I opened the doors fully it became a semi-open-air bath—something I enjoyed with everything open during the day and at dawn. The silky texture of the water was wonderful as well. At night I closed it because insects appeared, but with glass across one side and by changing the lighting in areas like the terrace, washbasin space, and bath area, both reflections on the water’s surface and the scenery transformed—I really enjoyed this “magic” of Onsen water and light. With an open flow from bedroom to living area to deck and bath—and with different types of lighting (and their placement), plus varied lattice designs on each door—even though it rained at night, I could enjoy many different lighting effects wherever I was. Neither a Hotel nor a Ryokan; true to its name, it felt like a unique Accommodation—like an independent guesthouse made up of detached Ryokan-style annexes. It isn’t luxurious or historic, but it is simple without waste—a thoughtfully designed Room. I would love to return in another season to enjoy both the Onsen and local seafood again. Thank you for such a wonderful meal—I feel refreshed. Thank you very much.

    I had hoped the meal...

I had hoped the meals would be served in a private dining room, but the chef welcomed us warmly, and perhaps because they could see how we were progressing, the timing of each dish was excellent. The tables were spaced well apart, so it never felt cramped, and we could enjoy our meal while chatting comfortably. The Onsen was wonderful. I was happy to have plenty of towels provided. The ocean view is spectacular. The bath in the Room can also be used as an open-air bath—open the glass doors for a great sense of openness. When it’s cold, you can keep them closed and still enjoy the ocean view! A spacious Room as well. The food featured luxurious ingredients and was served on carefully chosen tableware that made it even more enjoyable—and even more delicious. The grilled nodoguro with salt was outstanding. I was truly impressed by how beautifully it was prepared. Thank you very much for taking such good care of us.

A 3-Day, 2-Night Trip to the Tango Peninsula

This was my first time using IKYU, and it truly was an excellent Accommodation. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t great, but both dinner and breakfast were generous in portion and luxurious. I was also impressed by the panoramic ocean view from both the bath and the bed. The bathwater was absolutely wonderful! I’d love to come again on a sunny day.

The Sea of Japan view from the guest room is outstanding.

The staff who greeted us, handled check-in, and served our meals were kind and courteous, which made us feel very comfortable. The warm, family-run atmosphere was truly relaxing. The room was spacious, and the view of the Sea of Japan was just as wonderful as we had imagined. The tatami mats and sofa were comfortable to sit on, the bed was very comfortable to sleep in, and the blend of Japanese and Western style felt calm and inviting. The open-air bath in the room was perfect in every way—the view, water quality, and temperature—and we were soothed by the sound of the waves and seabirds. Dinner featured tender meat in a well-balanced portion size, served at just the right pace, and everything was delicious. Breakfast items such as rolled omelet (tamagoyaki), miso soup, and rice were also very enjoyable.

It was the best day ever.

The Room, bath, and meals were all excellent. The bath was an Onsen and felt wonderful, with a stunning ocean view—I ended up going in many times. Both the meat and crab were delicious, and I was especially impressed by the breakfast rice cooked in a clay pot. The staff were very warm and welcoming, and I would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

To celebrate the New Year and your silver wedding anniversary

Spend New Year's Eve enjoying fresh crab with your family! We chose this accommodation, which only hosts four groups at a time. The interior is a blend of modern and traditional Japanese style, clean and inviting. The attentive and warm hospitality was exceptional, and above all, the course meal featuring fresh live crab was absolutely delicious. For our silver wedding anniversary, we requested a message plate, which was presented beautifully and made us very happy! The onsen had a silky texture and felt incredibly relaxing. From our room, we could enjoy the dramatic view of the rough winter Sea of Japan—an unforgettable experience for New Year's Eve. Unfortunately, as it was during the New Year holiday period, nearby shops were closed so we couldn't buy souvenirs. However... This ryokan left such an impression that we'd love to visit again someday! Thank you very much!

    Wedding Anniversary

It was a lovely accommodation with an ocean view. The food and onsen were excellent, and bathing while gazing at the star-filled sky was truly moving. We were able to spend a wonderful anniversary. The onsen had a silky texture, and by the time we left, our skin was glowing. We definitely plan to visit again for another refreshing stay.

    Stunning Views and Delicious Cuisine

It was my first visit in a while. The weather was perfect, and I was healed by the breathtaking scenery like never before. The hospitality was as warm and friendly as ever, making me feel very satisfied. The meals were absolutely delicious, and I thoroughly enjoyed the crab. The bath was also excellent. I truly had a relaxing stay. Thank you very much!

    Completely satisfied.

The service, the accommodation's onsen, the cuisine—everything was flawless and perfect. I had meaningful conversations with the hostess and staff about their carefully selected dishes and explanations of the cuisine. I would love to visit again.

    The open-air bath is exceptional.

The delay of the Shinkansen on the way caused a two-hour late arrival, which reduced the time to relax, but it was truly a wonderful accommodation. Everything, including the food, room, and service, was satisfying. It was well worth visiting from Kanagawa. The time spent gazing at the Sea of Japan from the open-air bath was exceptional, and I was even more impressed by how the bathtub's design allowed for lying down while bathing. I’m thinking of visiting again during crab season next time...

    A wonderful accommodation.

A small-scale accommodation with only four rooms, it had a warm and homely atmosphere with exceptional hospitality. The private open-air bath in the room featured natural onsen water flowing directly from the source and was available 24 hours. The cuisine was not only delicious but also resembled works of art. The tableware was carefully selected, offering both visual and culinary delight for a truly fulfilling experience. The hostess's charming personality added to the wonderful stay, and we are grateful for her care.

    Highly satisfying.

The room is compact and neatly arranged. We stayed as a family of three, and the room size is ideal for 2 to 3 guests. The view from the room directly faces the ocean, with a vast horizon stretching out. The Onsen in the room has silky water that leaves your skin feeling smooth and hydrated, making you want to soak in it forever. The meals featured rare local ingredients such as "black abalone" and "white squid." For a late-night snack, small rice balls, sweets, coffee, and more were provided. For breakfast, you can choose your preferred fish from options like "Nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch)," flounder, or horse mackerel. The taste was excellent and highly satisfying. The owner, his wife, and all staff members greeted us warmly with smiles and provided attentive service that made our stay very comfortable. As expected from its high ratings, this was an exceptional accommodation. We would love to stay here again!

Stayed at the accommodation after a year.

Stayed at my favorite accommodation after a year. It was the same room as always, and I absolutely loved the bathwater, enjoying multiple relaxing baths. The food was as delicious as ever. The place is very quiet, allowing us to enjoy a peaceful time as a couple. Thank you very much!

The finest baths, exquisite cuisine, and warm hospitality

Last month, I stayed in Kyotango, but this time I was intrigued by this highly-rated accommodation on IKYU.com and decided to stay. Upon arrival, the owner personally welcomed us and guided us inside. With only four groups accommodated per day, the interior is compact yet bright and stylish. After checking in, we went upstairs to our room. The room was just the right size—not too big or small—with a stunning view of the deep blue Sea of Japan stretching out before us. We immediately headed to the open-air bath to relax from our journey. The natural hot spring water felt silky but didn’t cling to the skin—absolutely perfect! Dinner was a highlight with beautifully crafted dishes that had both my husband and me smiling throughout; we couldn’t help but enjoy some drinks as well. The landlady’s recommendation of Ine’s premium oysters was especially delightful! A long-time female staff member kindly attended to me (even though I’d had a bit too much to drink) with constant smiles, making for an incredibly pleasant experience overall. The bath, cuisine, and staff service were all exceptional. However, for me personally, what left a lasting impression—and made me think “I want to come back”—was undoubtedly the warmth of the people. Even on our departure during intense summer heat, they graciously fulfilled our request (taking several photos for us), and three female staff members waved goodbye with smiles until our car disappeared from sight—a gesture that left both my husband and me feeling wonderful as we headed home. Thank you so much! P.S.: There isn’t much around this accommodation nor can you see sunsets here; however, if your goal is relaxation like ours—with breathtaking views from high-quality hot springs paired with delicious meals—and if you value human warmth above all else—this is truly an outstanding place to stay!

    The hot water is excellent.

Although I was unsure about visiting an Onsen in the middle of summer, I used the hometown tax system for this accommodation. The Onsen had a rich alkaline quality, leaving my skin smooth and feeling amazing. The meals were also excellent, featuring seasonal local ingredients.

Basically, it is a good accommodation. However, depending on the plan, it might be a bit expensive.

First of all, it is basically a good accommodation. The staff were polite and attentive, making the stay pleasant. The room was clean and reasonably spacious, and above all, the ocean view right in front was stunning! The bath was also very relaxing, and the meals were delicious. If the cost for two people had been around 60,000 yen, it would have felt reasonable. However, with seasonal price increases and an additional 10,000 yen to upgrade the meals—resulting in a total of 80,000 yen per night—it felt quite overpriced. Some details to note: - The facility only has rooms and dining spaces (no lounge, library, or large public bath). - While the upgraded meal on the first day lived up to expectations as advertised, the second day's meal was honestly disappointing despite paying for an upgrade on both days. - There were welcome drinks but no small snacks provided in the room. - Surprisingly for modern accommodations, there were no pajamas provided in the room (yukata is uncomfortable for sleeping as it tends to come undone). - The selection of free drinks in the room was limited. - The open-air bath was quite small (only suitable for one person at a time). - The room felt smaller than stated (likely because they included terrace space in its size). Also worth noting: I expected a suite to have separate bedroom and living areas; however, this space felt like one combined area—not what I envisioned as a suite layout. - The open-air bath could be seen from nearby roads. - There’s nothing around for exploration or walking. Overall these factors left me feeling somewhat disappointed with my stay.

    The food was extremely delicious.

The service was attentive, and I appreciated how they accommodated my requests for additional dishes and raw eggs during dinner. I particularly loved the way the rice was cooked. It had a slightly firm texture with distinct grains, which was perfect for my taste. The night view from the semi-open-air bath was also delightful. I would love to visit again during crab season. However, it was a bit disappointing that there were many seabirds gathering on the rocky area near the accommodation, which made it slightly noisy. Other than that, it was an excellent accommodation overall.

The ark shell clam was delicious.

I made a reservation two months ago, hoping to enjoy delicious torigai. Just before my visit, I heard news about poor catches this season and went with some anxiety. However, I was delighted to be served large, plump, and flavorful torigai that had just been sourced for the first time this season! The onsen water was smooth and silky; from the moment I entered, my skin felt soft and smooth. After bathing, my skin had a radiant glow! This cozy and tranquil accommodation allowed me to relax fully. Thank you very much!

    The Onsen water was ...

    I was very satisfied.

The open-air bath in the room offered a panoramic view of the sea, allowing for a relaxing experience. The meals, both breakfast and dinner, were highly satisfying in terms of taste and quantity. The weather on the day of our stay was clear, and at night, we were able to enjoy a sky full of stars. This was our second stay; the first time we stayed in a room on the first floor, and this time we chose a room on the second floor. The view from the second floor is better, but since the terrace has an overhang, if you want to enjoy the stars at night, the first floor with its spacious balcony might be preferable. We were completely satisfied with everything and definitely want to visit again.

Spectacular views of the Sea of Japan, silky smooth hot springs, and delicious meals

I finally found a good ryokan after a long time. The semi-open-air hot spring in the room is silky smooth, and bathing while enjoying the spectacular view of the Sea of Japan is extremely pleasant. The size of the room was just right for us as a couple, making it very comfortable to stay in. The meals, both dinner and breakfast, were delicious, with the steamed rock oysters and the morning rolled omelet being exquisite. Since the dining area doubles as a lobby next to the front desk, those accustomed to in-room dining or private rooms might be concerned about being seen by others, but dining in an open space with a view of the Sea of Japan is also exceptional. The facility is compact, functional, and seems to have eliminated unnecessary elements. Even my usually critical wife gave it the highest rating recently. I felt there were almost no negative points. I hear the crab is also delicious in winter, so I'm considering revisiting when the season comes.
