  It was an Accommodation for inbound travelers...

  Because it was an Accommodation that could be booked on IKYU.com, we assumed it would be reliable, but it was clearly geared toward inbound guests from outside Japan. It was filled with “Japan-style” touches for foreign visitors, which felt like too much for us. We had some issues with the Facility—such as the in-room phone not working and a noise from the air conditioner vent that continued all night—but they kindly gave us frozen bottled water when we went out sightseeing, which was very helpful.

We sincerely apologize that, despite selecting our Hotel, the atmosphere inside the building and aspects of our Facility did not meet your expectations. In particular, we regret that what we intended as a Japanese ambiance and a sense of Kyoto instead felt burdensome to you. We welcome every guest—both from Japan and abroad—with the hope that they can spend their time comfortably with us, and we deeply apologize that your stay did not reflect that intention. We also apologize for any inconvenience caused by the in-room telephone. Regarding the sound from the air conditioner louvers, we shared your comments with our Room staff immediately after reading your post and inspected the Room. We will continue to check our equipment more carefully and strive to maintain Rooms where guests can stay in comfort. Even so, we are glad to hear that the frozen water we provided when you went out was helpful. With the hope of making sightseeing in Kyoto more comfortable during hot weather, we offer chilled or frozen water when guests head out. We take your feedback seriously and will continue working to be an Accommodation where everyone—including guests from Japan—can enjoy a comfortable stay.   A charming Ryokan that lets you experience the essence of Kyoto.

  The staff's hospitality was exceptional. The Room had a charming Kyoto-inspired design, which was delightful. The small items were so adorable that I wanted to have the same ones. The cypress wood in the bath had a wonderful fragrance, providing a soothing experience. It was my first time experiencing an all-cypress bath. On departure, they even prepared hand warmers for us, offering impeccable service. If I may suggest one thing, while I appreciated the L'Occitane amenities, they were not sufficient for long hair. It would be great if there were bottles of shampoo and conditioner available in the bathroom.

  A perfect blend of R...

  A perfect blend of Ryokan and Business Hotel Within walking distance from Kyoto Station (about 15 minutes) Shoes are removed at the front desk and placed in a shoe box The lady at the front desk is also very kind and accommodating Just the right size for one person Above all, the freshly made cypress bath with a wonderful fragrance is the best feature It takes about 20 minutes to fill with water, warms you up without needing bath additives, and retains heat well The TV position is just right too Breakfast is delicious and more than enough to eat (lol) Clam chowder soup is kept warm in a pot Having a coffee maker and microwave available is also nice I chose this place because it was close to where I had dinner, which turned out to be a great decision I would like to stay here again when I visit Kyoto

  It was a beautiful Stays.

  The room was so clean that it seemed like it had just been made. I was satisfied with the bath amenities and the bed. Above all, the staff at the property. When I mentioned that I was going to the Toshiya at Sanjusangendo (Sanjusangendo), they made suggestions to accommodate that, and I was pleased with their thoughtfulness.
