It was disappointing.
We stayed at Yunokawa Onsen's Mansou as part of our three-day, two-night trip to Hakodate. The accommodation is not a large hotel and is operated by Orix after being renovated, so we had some expectations. However, it was quite disappointing. When we stayed at Suginoi in Beppu, Oita, the buffet was excellent... but here it was shocking! The steak corner served synthetic meat steaks that were not tasty at all. Honestly, it would have been better not to serve them. While other buffet dishes seemed well-prepared, having "steak" prominently advertised at the entrance with only a small note about injected beef fat made the experience very disappointing. Meals play a significant role in enjoying accommodations, so I hope improvements can be made. The onsen and other facilities were excellent—please keep up the good work!

The building is old,...
The building is old, but thoughtful arrangements throughout make for a comfortable stay. A wide variety of meals are offered, including seafood dishes unique to Hakodate, which were very satisfying. The Onsen features a spacious area, with separate spaces for washing and bathing, ensuring comfort. Access is convenient as it’s about a 10-minute bus ride from the airport, making this Hotel easy to use.

Outstanding customer service
We stayed for 3 nights with our children at the end of summer vacation. We chose this accommodation based on reviews mentioning "great customer service," and indeed, every staff member was kind and provided attentive service. Their smiles made our stay very pleasant. On the last day, when my son started to get fussy, they responded quickly and flexibly, which we truly appreciated. Although we don't often have the chance to visit Hakodate, we will definitely choose this accommodation again next time!

The Hokkaido Gourmet Buffet is exceptional!
The Hokkaido gourmet buffet is excellent! It would have been even better with crab, adding an extra 10 points.

The staff is excellent!
During my recent trip to Hakodate, I stayed at this accommodation and it exceeded all my expectations. It was an exceptional hotel where I created unforgettable memories. What left the biggest impression on me was the warm hospitality of the staff. From the courteous guidance at the front desk to the attentive service in the restaurant and pleasant greetings from every staff member, I could feel their genuine desire for guests to have a comfortable stay. When I asked about sightseeing, they kindly provided helpful advice, which was greatly appreciated. Thanks to their outstanding service, my entire stay was incredibly comfortable. The meals were something I had been looking forward to, and both breakfast and dinner buffets were spectacular. Every dish, including fresh seafood delicacies, was absolutely delicious. The freshly prepared dishes from the live kitchen were particularly exceptional. The onsen was also wonderful; soaking in Yunokawa's famous hot springs allowed me to relax and rejuvenate after traveling fatigue. I will definitely recommend this hotel to friends visiting Hakodate without hesitation! To all of your amazing staff members—thank you so much! I will surely visit again soon!

Worth the price
The meals were great. However, the facility overall is outdated, which is unfortunate.

From the people of Hakodate
The Onsen was great, and the meals in the morning and evening were wonderful, featuring local ingredients from Hokkaido that tourists might not usually notice.

The meals were delicious.
I decided to stay after reading about the secrets of weekend trips. It was my first time visiting Hokkaido. The exterior, lobby, and restaurant looked just like what I had seen in dramas, and I was deeply impressed! Upon arriving in Hakodate, I first visited the Hotel to leave my luggage. The staff kindly assisted me and even asked if I would like to decide on dinner and breakfast times right then, which allowed me to share my preferences. The food was delicious, and the restaurant staff were very kind. After dining, I stopped by the shop to look at souvenirs. A staff member approached me and kindly shared recommendations—thank you so much! However, when paying at checkout, they asked if I had a coupon. When I replied that I didn’t have one, they asked if it wasn’t given during check-in. After confirming that it wasn’t provided to me earlier, they applied a discount since my total exceeded 3,000 yen—this was appreciated. Looking back on check-in though—the staff confirmed our pre-decided meal times but gave almost no other explanations aside from handing over an A4 sheet of paper. While checking in next to another guest being assisted by a different staff member nearby—I overheard something about the men's sauna being unavailable; later confirmed when my husband found it unusable during his visit to the Onsen. Of course many details can be understood by reading materials provided or checking online—but skipping explanations left us feeling slightly uneasy even now despite some positive experiences overall. While considering how affordable everything seemed—it’s disheartening having mixed feelings despite good moments too. I write this with hope for improvement!

Satisfaction
Stayed in a Japanese-Western style room for one night. - Both dinner and breakfast were highly satisfying. Sushi, sashimi, curry, desserts, etc., met expectations. The children were also happy. An all-you-can-drink alcohol option is available for an additional fee. - The Onsen offers a variety of options and includes a sauna, which was enjoyable. Complimentary ice cream after bathing was a nice touch. - The elevator is relatively small compared to the hotel's capacity. Be cautious if staying on lower floors. - Beer from the vending machine is reasonably priced at 350ml for 350 yen.

I would like to visit again when coming to Yunokawa Onsen.
Located just a few minutes' walk from Yunokawa Onsen Station, this accommodation offers a convenient location and clean facilities. The buffet for dinner and breakfast was so delicious that I ended up eating too much, making my stay very comfortable. For the price during Golden Week, it was highly cost-effective. I would definitely choose to stay here again when visiting Yunokawa Onsen.

The meals and service were excellent.
As you step into the charming entrance, a fireplace immediately catches your eye, lifting your spirits. I reserved a one-night stay with the "Room Assigned on Arrival Plan." On IKYU, several people mentioned in their Reviews that even with the "Room Assigned on Arrival Plan," they were assigned good Rooms, so I wasn't worried. However, to my surprise, I was given a Japanese-style Room. I genuinely regret not reserving a Western-style Room from the beginning, as I really struggle with small Japanese-style Rooms. After finishing sightseeing, I returned to the Hotel and headed straight to the large public bath. It warmed my chilled body to the core. The buffet-style dinner was diverse and very delicious. However, during dinner time, the two small elevators were completely unavailable, so I had to take the stairs down from the 5th floor. After dinner, I coincidentally encountered a group of Chinese tourists checking in, which meant I had to climb the stairs back up to the 5th floor. There were no towels in the large public bath, so I had to bring one from my Room. For the second bath, I had to get a new towel from the front desk. Recently, many Hotels and Ryokans have been providing high-powered hair dryers, such as Refa, so I didn't bring my own. However, the hair dryers in both the large public bath and the Room here had low power, and I regretted not bringing mine. The food and service were excellent, but the hardware aspects left a disappointing impression.

Dinner buffet available, no need to dine out.
This was my first stay at the Property. Thank you for kindly accommodating changes to the Reservation schedule even before my stay. Also, although I arrived before check-in time after checking out of the previous Hotel and stopping by Misuzu Coffee, you allowed me to check in early, which was really helpful. The Room was part of a "leave it to us" Plan, so I was prepared for a very small Room, but I was given a spacious twin Japanese-Western style Room. Yay! As for the bath, the open-air bath was under construction, so I could only use it on either the check-in or check-out day. I was looking forward to the open-air bath with natural hot spring water, but it wasn't continuously flowing; it seemed to come out intermittently (probably because it was too hot). I wish it had been flowing continuously. There are two types of saunas, but the mist sauna was lukewarm (is that how it's supposed to be?). The dry sauna had bright lighting and a TV, which wasn't ideal for someone like me who prefers a quiet atmosphere. However, the person next to me was laughing while watching TV. So, I would give it three stars. The buffet was very lively. There were many guests, and the staff were attentive, making it a pleasant dining experience. The previous Hotel I stayed at didn't include dinner, so I went to a conveyor belt sushi place and a tempura restaurant, but they were underwhelming for the price and left me unsatisfied. This dinner buffet, on the other hand, had proper sushi with a wide variety, tempura, and more, making me wonder what the 8,000 yen dinner from the previous day was for. I realized that choosing a place with a dinner buffet included is more affordable and guarantees a satisfying meal. The steak was tender and delicious. The raclette cheese was delightful. When it comes to Hakodate, I look forward to seafood, but I appreciated having Chinese and Western dishes as well, as I tend to get tired of seafood after a while. For breakfast, the salt ramen was delicious. The churros and egg sandwiches were exciting. There was also curry and sashimi. I wanted to eat more, but since it was my third consecutive day of buffets, I couldn't eat as much as I wanted, which was disappointing. Now, as I attach photos, I wish I had been hungrier to enjoy the food more.

Overall, it was very...
Overall, it was very good. However, it was very disappointing that the crab was terrible and inedible. The saltiness was too strong, and although I chose this property mainly for the crab in Hokkaido, it was the worst I've ever had. I hope it will be improved. I wonder if they bought it in bulk because it was New Year's... I would like the staff to try it once.

I could see the snow from the bath.
The front desk staff were all very kind, and their courteous service was impressive. The property was not too large, so it wasn't overcrowded, and it was comfortable. Both the room and the common areas were well-cleaned and tidy. Although the bath didn't offer much of a view, snow was falling through the gaps, providing a unique winter experience. The meals were buffet-style, and the sushi, soft serve ice cream, and raclette were delicious. However, as someone who likes spices and heat, I found the curry didn't suit my taste either at night or in the morning. The restaurant staff greeted guests but mostly stood around without clearing plates, leaving guests to tidy up themselves. It wasn't very crowded, so compared to the kind front desk staff, it left a disappointing impression. It was the last day of our trip to Hakodate, but overall, it was a good stay.

Meals full of the blessings of Hokkaido
I learned about this Hotel from a drama and was looking forward to it. The Room, of course, and the entire facility were clean and comfortable. The meals were abundant in variety, featuring plenty of Hokkaido's delicacies, and were very delicious. I thought it would be nice if the open-air bath had a space where you could see more of the sky, but overall, I was very satisfied.

I arrived early, but
I arrived early, but they told me the room was ready and showed me to it. The bath was spacious, and the hot water was just the right temperature for someone like me who loves hot baths. The meals were not numerous, but they had a bit of everything. The seafood, in particular, was plentiful and delicious. I especially enjoyed the egg sandwich made fresh in the morning. There was no explanation about the rest area in the hot spring area, so I didn't notice the ice cream and drinks until the evening.

The meal time restrictions are strict for those with children.
There was a 1.5-hour time limit for using the seats during dinner and breakfast (probably breakfast?). It was a family trip with three people, including a 2-year-old child, and while searching for food suitable for the child and feeding them with a spoon, the 1.5 hours passed in no time. As a result, the adults ended up just shoveling down their food, and we couldn't really enjoy the meal. There might be various opinions about fairness, but I thought it would be considerate to have no time limit for those with young children. The meals were very delicious, which made this aspect all the more disappointing.

It's a generally nice inn.
I stayed in September 2024. Good points The room is clean and tidy. The bath has various types and is very relaxing. The salmon roe, squid, and scallops are especially delicious. Areas for improvement I would prefer not to have the futon laid out while I'm relaxing in the room. Having the washroom and toilet together is unsettling. Overall, I think it's a good inn for the price.

The visit after a long time exceeded expectations.
It was my first visit since the renovation, and the facility was orderly and transformed into an even more wonderful inn than before. My distant memory of the place being crowded with day-use bathers was gone, as both day-use and overnight guests are admitted from 3:00 PM, allowing overnight guests to comfortably use the baths after cleaning. The dining venue and meal content were impeccable, and this inn is truly outstanding, not inferior at all compared to the large luxury inns operated by groups scattered around this area.

Everything was wonderful!
The service upon arrival, the coffee service, the spaciousness of the bath, the service after the bath, the deliciousness of the meals, and the cleanliness of the room were all perfect! It was a trip with my elderly parents, and although they usually eat little, I saw them eat a lot for the first time in a while, which made me smile. The staff at the dining area all interacted with us with smiles, which left a very strong impression. Thank you very much.
