    The Best Hotel with Stunning Views of Mt. Fuji

    This Hotel boasts a location that feels like you have the breathtaking views of Mt. Fuji all to yourself. The service is pleasant and the stay is fairly comfortable, but the age of the Facility stands out, which is disappointing as it slightly detracts from the resort atmosphere. I think it would be best with a bit of upkeep, such as renovating noticeable exterior areas like the walls.

    Older Hotels often have the best locations, so we came looking forward to the stunning combination of Mt. Fuji and Lake Yamanaka—and it was exactly as expected. Because the Hotel is built on higher ground, there is nothing to block the view of Mt. Fuji, and the panorama is outstanding. And on top of that, even during the Obon holiday period, we were upgraded to a suite—thank you very much. When I woke up in the morning and opened the large terrace window, after the previous day’s cloudy weather, a magnificent view of Mt. Fuji suddenly appeared before us. It was a birthday trip with my 92-year-old mother, and she was absolutely delighted. In the evening we enjoyed a full-course French dinner. The staff were pleasant, and everything was delicious. We also visited the café—the dessert made with an entire peach cost just 1,000 yen including tax and service charge! It was incredibly tasty, great value, and we were very satisfied. The building is undeniably old, but our stay was very comfortable. Lake Yamanaka may be less well-known among the Fuji Five Lakes, but it’s quiet and we really loved it. We would like to visit again in autumn to enjoy the fall foliage.

    It was very relaxing.

    Because our family’s summer vacation overlapped for only three days, we chose this familiar Accommodation so we could truly relax. Since we couldn’t stay long, we decided to treat ourselves and booked a Junior Suite for the first time—then received an unexpected upgrade. When I opened the door, I was speechless. It was simply incredible. Is there any other Hotel Room where Mount Fuji looks this huge and magnificent, besides the suites here? It was a bit of a trek to the Onsen, but Mount Fuji was so overwhelming—in the best way—that it didn’t matter. We felt healed and completely at ease; all our everyday stress disappeared. I honestly wished we could stay forever. The price is not easy for an ordinary stay, but while staying in standard twin Rooms and such, our whole family will keep working hard so that one day we can stay in this Room again (lol). Thank you for your unchanged kindness and consistently delicious meals. We’ll be back.

    The room was disappointing.

    I stayed here decades ago and had high expectations for this long-established Hotel. There were three disappointing points in the guest Room. 1. The TV screen was positioned in line with the sofa, and I was unsure how it was meant to be viewed. 2. The bathroom and sink area smelled musty, which made washing up unpleasant. 3. There were cup marks left on the bedside table, so I wiped it down again with disinfecting wipes I brought with me. I felt the cleaning was not thorough enough. The Onsen itself was very pleasant, but it is far too far from the Room. For elderly guests in their 60s and 70s, it was a very difficult distance to walk. The staff hospitality and service were good. Considering the price, the meal selection felt limited in variety. For these reasons, my overall satisfaction was average.

    The view is spectacular.

    First time staying here. Breakfast-included Plan. The Facility is old, but the Room has been nicely renovated. However, I was a bit concerned that the cleaning on top of the dresser wasn’t quite thorough. The views from the panoramic bath and the garden are amazing—you can fully enjoy Mt. Fuji. It was disappointing that we couldn’t have dinner, as it seems places other than the upscale French restaurant fill up quickly. The breakfast buffet was reasonably good.

    I’m glad I chose Hotel Mount Fuji again.

    This is my third stay for business. The staff at this Hotel are very pleasant, and from the moment I check in, I feel glad I chose to stay here. I only used the restaurant for the breakfast buffet, but there was a wide variety of dishes and it was very satisfying. The view of Mt. Fuji when I opened the curtains in the morning was breathtaking. I would definitely like to stay here again.

    It was great.

    Unfortunately, it was cloudy and we couldn’t see Mt. Fuji, but we were satisfied with our stay thanks to the view from the bath and the meals. The Accommodation has many rooms and is spacious, but the layout was hard to follow and there were few guide maps, so we got lost.

    Relax on weekdays.

    I visited on a weekday for the first time in a while. Weekdays are nice and calm. It was a solo stay while bringing work with me, but thanks to the thoughtful care of all the staff, I was able to get a lot done and had a very comfortable stay. Thank you. I was especially happy to see the truffle omelet back at breakfast! I heard the chef has returned. It’s an omelet you can only have here, and I truly enjoyed it again after so long. If douhua comes back too, it would be perfect for me (haha). The Room you kindly changed for me also felt very comfortable, and I appreciated how quickly you responded to something I noticed in the sauna. Thank you very much. On my next visit, I’m looking forward to relaxing in the repaired sauna while enjoying the view of Mt. Fuji again.

    Every January, we stay here when visiting the Lake Yamanaka area to see Mount Fuji. This year, my wife developed a fish allergy and could no longer eat the same meals as others. When we informed the staff in advance, they accommodated us perfectly. Although we couldn't capture a beautiful view of Mount Fuji this time due to the weather, we were very satisfied with both the bath and the meals as always. We will continue to visit in the future—thank you to all the staff for your hard work!

    A Wonderful Time

    The view of Mount Fuji was stunning after a long time. Enjoying the breathtaking scenery while relaxing in the open-air bath, indoor bath, and two cold baths was truly exceptional. The French full-course meal was as exquisite as always, with beautiful presentation and three delicious wines that we thoroughly enjoyed. The room was impeccably clean, providing a comfortable stay. We had an absolutely wonderful time.

    Disappointed by the difference

    Last time I stayed through IKYU, the room was excellent, and I had a wonderful stay, so I decided to book for two nights this time. However, even though it was a reservation through IKYU again, the room in a different accommodation building was disappointing and left me very dissatisfied.

    Perfect for Mount Fuji lovers!

    It was the perfect Hotel for us, as we love Mount Fuji. We could also feel its over 60 years of history. Additionally, we were pleasantly surprised by how wonderful the Onsen was. The view from the Room was amazing, and next time, we would love to visit during the season when Mount Fuji is covered in snow.

    The meals are excellent.

    The French cuisine at the main dining for dinner was absolutely delicious. The breakfast buffet was also of high quality and very tasty. The panoramic bath was relaxing, and the courtyard, with Mount Fuji in the background, was spacious and provided a pleasant atmosphere. The 11:00 AM checkout time allowed for a leisurely stay. However, there were two minor drawbacks: the washroom Facility is old and small, and the ventilation fan in the washroom is noisy.

    Highly Satisfied

    The Hotel, though an older building, was very clean and well-maintained. The Room was spacious, and all rooms are positioned to offer views of Lake Yamanaka and Mount Fuji, which was truly satisfying. Despite the cloudy weather, the clouds cleared in the evening to reveal a magnificent view of Mount Fuji. The restroom interior was clean but had a slight odor due to its age, which my wife noticed. Perhaps adding an air freshener would help. The 11:00 AM checkout time was convenient, and considering the cost-performance ratio, I would love to stay here again if I want to enjoy views of Mount Fuji.

    It was a wonderful trip.

    Although it was raining during our trip to Lake Yamanaka and we couldn't see Mount Fuji from the hotel, the excellent service at the front desk made our stay very satisfying. Thank you very much.

    The view, Onsen, mea...

    The view, Onsen, meals, and room were all satisfying. Check-out was at 11:00 AM, so we could relax. I would love to come again.

    The view was amazing.

    I stayed in a Japanese-Western style Room. The view of Mount Fuji from the Room was very large, and I could see all the way to the base extending to the lake. I'm really glad I came from Kansai! The mattress laid out in the Japanese-style room was hard. Other than that, there were no problems.

    A hotel with a spectacular view of Mt. Fuji nearby.

    I stayed for the first time. The main purpose was to photograph Mt. Fuji, and since the price was reasonable, I did not have excessive expectations. However, I was very satisfied with the hospitality of the staff. From next year, I will use this hotel as one of my annual routines. Thank you very much this time.

    The view of the sunrise and Mount Fuji from the bath is magnificent.

    I stayed on New Year's Day and the second day. It is a regular New Year's Eve Stays for my brother-in-law's family, and they recommended it to us. We spent New Year's Eve together the year before last. The weather was nice, and we were able to see the first sunrise and a sea of clouds over the lake. We also had the opportunity to participate in mochi pounding and watch a lion dance, which were very valuable experiences. This year, we couldn't get a reservation for New Year's Eve, so we stayed after the New Year began. Last time, we stayed in a new Room, but this time we could only get an old Room, which was a bit disappointing. However, it was clean despite being old. There was some dust in the corner behind the door, so I deducted one star, but other than that, the Property, bath, and restaurant were all clean. There are two baths, and the large bath on B1 has a sauna with a löyly, and you can relax in a rocking chair in the open-air bath while gazing at Mount Fuji, making it highly recommended for serious sauna enthusiasts. The next morning, we entered the separate bath on the second floor at sunrise at 7 a.m., and we could see a panoramic view of Mount Fuji from sunrise, creating a very magical atmosphere. It was moving. We didn't use the restaurant at night and only had the breakfast buffet. There was also osechi, allowing us to fully enjoy the New Year's mood, and all the other dishes were delicious. There were no issues with the service. The Room cleaning staff greeted us pleasantly. This Hotel offers a mountain view from every Room, so you can feel secure and satisfied no matter which Room you stay in. I would like to visit again during a time other than the New Year period.

    It was a wonderful view.

    We were blessed with clear weather and were moved by the sight of the magnificent Mt. Fuji for two days. The view from the bath was also wonderful, and the French cuisine was very delicious with just the right amount. This time, the room was a bit far from the onsen, so next time I would like to reserve a more spacious room.

    Stays with a Spectacular View of Mt. Fuji

    The criteria for the property we want to stay at are the beauty of the scenery, the abundance of onsen facilities, and the deliciousness of the meals. Of course, being able to see Mt. Fuji (Fuji-san) up close is a given, but the view of Mt. Fuji from the open-air bath is truly overwhelming, like a panoramic photo. Additionally, the French course meal at the main dining is hearty, using plenty of local seasonal ingredients, and is quite tasty. This time, the homemade smoked Kai salmon and the Fujizakura pork red wine bacon were so delicious that I feel like going back to eat them again. It's a very favorite property, so if it becomes too popular, it will be difficult to make a reservation in the future, so I'll stop here (laughs).

    Ultimate relaxation

    Repeat visit. The room, onsen, dining (French course), and the collaboration of Mt. Fuji and Lake Yamanaka. The view of the sunset from the open-air bath is particularly spectacular. I enjoyed immersing myself in an extraordinary experience in every aspect. The staff's attentiveness and thoughtfulness were very pleasing, and I made the reservation not for a trip, but because I want to stay here. The garden for strolling is well-maintained, and it's clear that every detail is prepared to welcome us. I will visit again.

    Mount Fuji!

    Unfortunately, we couldn't see Mt. Fuji the day before due to the weather, but the next morning we had a great view of Mt. Fuji from our Room. We also had a great view from the bath, which was wonderful! The dinner was also very delicious.

    Stays with the best view of Mt. Fuji and dining

    We were given a very nice Room. We had a great view of Mt. Fuji, and the view of Mt. Fuji from the infinity open-air bath was also spectacular. Although it is an old Hotel celebrating its 60th anniversary, the interior is very clean. The amenities are somewhat limited. We had French cuisine for dinner, and everything was delicious, with the Mont Blanc dessert being the best. The breakfast buffet had a wide variety of dishes, all of which were delicious, including dim sum and many toppings for porridge, making breakfast enjoyable as well! It was the best trip ever!

    Birthday celebration

    Last year, I stayed here for my birthday celebration, and they surprised me with a mini arrangement in the room. This year, in addition to the mini arrangement in the room, since it was a Western-style meal, they prepared a chocolate plate with "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" and my name on it for dessert, which made me very happy. The Western-style meal was delicious, beautifully presented, and satisfying. The open-air bath with a view is a particular favorite of mine, and unexpectedly, the weather was great. At first, Mount Fuji was hidden by clouds, but then it appeared, perfectly balanced with Lake Yamanaka, allowing me to relax and unwind. Even though I arrived early, they promptly guided me to my room, which was much appreciated as I was tired from the traffic. It turned out to be a wonderful birthday celebration and a memorable experience. Thank you very much. I hope to stay again next year and celebrate my birthday here.
