    Spectacular Onsen Experience

A wonderful, atmospheric Accommodation! The Onsen was especially impressive. Every dish was truly delicious, and we were completely satisfied. We would love to visit again. Thank you for your hospitality.

A traditional Onsen accommodation nestled in the countryside, proud of its milky, mineral-rich hot spring waters.

We stayed in a luxuriously designed Suite Room. The 24-hour free-flowing cloudy Onsen in the Room was pure indulgence. Even among Accommodations with an open-air bath, I don’t think you’ll find another with a bath as large as this Accommodation’s. The mountain and river cuisine also showed great attention to detail—highly recommended for a stay.

The food, service, accommodation, and bath were all wonderful. I would definitely like to visit again. However, when I used the bath at 6 a.m., there were some cold spots, which was unfortunate as the morning temperature was low.

The Onsen is wonderful (please note the operating hours are slightly early).

It was a very elegant and wonderful accommodation. The room was clean, and above all, the onsen was amazing. The accommodation is surrounded by tranquil nature, allowing us to relax at night with the sound of crickets. However, it was slightly inconvenient that the onsen operated only until 10 PM and some facilities were locked at 9:30 PM. Since we stayed in a room without a bath and the location of the accommodation was a bit far from the city center, we had to be mindful of our return time every day. I felt it might have been more relaxing to enjoy meals at the accommodation as well. Other than that, everything was wonderful. Next time, I would like to consider my plan more carefully before staying again.

The Onsen and meals were wonderful.

    ■ Positive Points Onsen Meals Scenery ■ Negative Points Incorrect check-out time was provided by staff. The room was generally dark, and the toilet had an unpleasant smell. No water available anywhere in the Facility, and the amount of water provided in the Room was insufficient (refrigerator items are charged). Only one Room key is provided; for additional access, you need to ask the front desk to open with a spare key, which is inconvenient. During check-out payment, dinner details were not presented unless specifically requested. When visiting the women’s Onsen before 9 PM, there was a large amount of hair on the floor in front of the mirrors. Overall, it is a charming and rustic Ryokan. However, considering its price point, improvements in facilities and services are desired.

Gokuraku Onsen - Truly Authentic. A blissful experience even on a return visit.

The Onsen here is absolutely incredible, so much so that it feels almost wasteful to limit it to accommodation guests only. Day-use bathing is available from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM, with guest-exclusive hours from 6:00 AM to 7:00 AM and 9:00 PM to 10:00 PM. No matter when you visit, the atmosphere resembles a traditional healing retreat. If this arrangement doesn't bother you, you'll enjoy an exceptional Onsen experience, including some cold spring baths. Guests can also enjoy a private bath once during their stay. The rooms are very clean and designed in a classic Japanese Ryokan style, offering great comfort. Meals feature "Sanga Cuisine," a kaiseki-style Japanese menu incorporating local ingredients—simply outstanding. Details like using different soy sauces for two types of sashimi show thoughtful care, along with dishes featuring wild boar and river fish that exude rustic charm. I hope to find another opportunity to visit again!

    It was an excellent accommodation.

The service and cuisine were excellent, making me wish I could stay longer at this accommodation. The meals used seasonal local ingredients, and both dinner and breakfast were incredibly delicious! The onsen water was a soft red spring, leaving my body warm for a while even after bathing. This accommodation is undoubtedly in the top 3 of all the onsen accommodations I've stayed at so far! I would love to visit again.

    A Ryokan worth the journey.

First trip to Miyazaki. Since my 90-year-old mother, who loves Onsen, joined us, long drives were not an option. We found this Ryokan on IKYU and were drawn to its Onsen. The unique "Ichibori Rock Bath," carved from a massive stone and filled with rich carbonated hot spring water at a high temperature, was impressive. In contrast, the open-air bath had a comfortable temperature for long soaks. My mother and I enjoyed the morning bath for over an hour while listening to birdsong and admiring the garden flowers. The Onsen was so delightful that we couldn't resist taking another quick 30-minute soak after breakfast. Dinner featured a variety of mountain river cuisine prepared with fresh bamboo shoots, wild vegetables, river fish like char grilled over an irori hearth. Later in the meal, we enjoyed Miyazaki Ebino Wagyu beef, wild boar, duck, and Miyazaki chicken grilled on the hearth as well. The highlight was rice cooked with fresh burdock root topped with crispy burdock chips—absolutely delicious! For dessert, we had strawberry daifuku made with soft gyuhi mochi wrapping mildly sweet bean paste and incredibly sweet strawberries—a blissful treat! Although our family loves strawberry daifuku from a famous confectionery in Fukuoka, this one surpassed it! Breakfast was simple yet exceptional: freshly cooked white rice in an earthen pot paired with dishes made from fresh eggs. We asked if they could make salted rice balls using leftover rice—and they kindly did! We later enjoyed them by Aoshima Beach. Both the Onsen and meals provided experiences unlike any we've had before during our many stays at various places over the years. My mother was thoroughly satisfied as well. Thank you very much for your wonderful hospitality!

    The hot water was excellent.

Good Points: The spacious onsen bath in the Room. Delicious meals and a pleasant atmosphere at the dining area. Disappointing Points: The Room was located at the far end, making it a long walk to the bath. The public bath is open to general guests from 7 AM. When leaving for the public bath at 5:55 AM, it was completely dark with no lights on, making it difficult to find the keyhole of the Room door.

It is a very good Property.

I thought there weren't many good Onsen properties in Miyazaki Prefecture, but I found this property featured in last year's "Fujin Gaho" property special and decided to stay here. The meals were surprisingly delicious, and the portions were just right. The quality of the Onsen was excellent. The staff at the property were also very pleasant, and I would love to stay again if given the chance.
