    Heartfelt Hospitality

    We’re repeat guests! This time, our whole family stayed to celebrate my mother’s 88th birthday. Since we told you in advance, you even prepared a special 88th-birthday outfit and took commemorative photos for us—thank you so much. One disappointment was that solar panels had been installed where the dog run used to be, so it had become much smaller than before. Still, your heartfelt hospitality and delicious meals always make us feel at ease, and my mother was very happy, so it became a wonderful memory. Thank you very much.

    Family-friendly travel

    This trip was a last-minute decision. All of the staff were friendly, kind, and welcoming with warm smiles. The food was delicious—fish, rice, and broth—and our child ate very well too. The Room was spacious, we could see the ocean from the bed, and having a water dispenser was great. The amenities were also well stocked. It was nice that both children and adults had separate loungewear provided, and that we didn’t need to bring towels from the Room. Thank you very much for taking care of us.

    The perfect Accommodation and meals made with local ingredients

    This Accommodation is perfect in both facilities and service. Everything is spotless, and it was truly impressive how the staff provide heartfelt hospitality while maintaining a comfortable sense of distance from guests. I felt they must place great emphasis on staff training. Dinner was a full-course Japanese meal featuring local ingredients, with abalone and splendid alfonsino as the highlight. The seasoning was natural and brought out the best of each ingredient. Both dinner and breakfast were generous in portion, but everything was so delicious that I finished it all. Thank you for making such wonderful summer memories for us.

    An Accommodation Designed for a Refined Adult Getaway

    This was my first stay, and I was very satisfied. It feels like an adult-oriented Accommodation where time passes slowly. I have stayed at many Hotels with ocean views, but traffic noise and people’s voices made them feel crowded, so I couldn’t fully escape everyday life. However, this Accommodation is located slightly inland, so it was very quiet. I would love to stay again.

    Good Accommodation

    During summer vacation, I visited with my grandchildren’s family. As expected from the reviews, both dinner and breakfast were delicious and plentiful, and we were very satisfied. We had elementary school-aged children and a toddler with us, and they ate happily as well. It was great to be able to enjoy our meals in a private dining room. Above all, the staff were exceptionally kind and helpful. Thank you very much.

    A Relaxing, Family-Friendly Stay

    My husband, our 2-year-old child, and I stayed here together. It was a very hot day, but we were welcomed with a welcome drink as soon as we arrived, which helped us relax right away. The Room was spacious, and child-friendly amenities such as bed rails and a diaper trash bin were prepared in advance, which was very helpful. The bathroom area was also extremely clean, and there was none of the “this part bothers me a little…” discomfort that can happen while traveling. The bath was designed with children in mind, so we felt safe using it even with our 2-year-old. We could also dine in a private room, which allowed us to spend time without worrying too much about those around us. The meals focused on fresh seafood dishes, and everything was delicious. We really appreciated the thoughtful attention—such as adjusting the order of serving to suit our child and carefully explaining which menu items would be easiest for our child to eat. Overall, our whole family was able to relax and sleep soundly at night. This is an Accommodation I would highly recommend to families traveling with small children.

    It was my first time using this service.

    This was my first time visiting Katsuura, Chiba Prefecture, and I stayed for one night. I was completely satisfied with everything—the Room, the meals, and the staff’s service. At night, I even saw a shooting star from the balcony. It is a quiet Accommodation where I could relax and unwind. Thank you for the wonderful memories.

    The meals were absolutely outstanding!

    We stayed with my elderly parents and a small child. We needed to make some changes for our own reasons regarding the Reservation, and the staff were very accommodating. From the email and phone communication onward, we felt an exceptionally high level of hospitality. The large public bath has only two types—indoor and open-air—but we really enjoyed it. In the open-air bath, the mountains are close by and we could even see birds visiting, which was incredibly relaxing. The private open-air bath was also wonderful. One of the large public baths has tatami flooring, which I thought was great because it reduces the risk of injury if small children or elderly guests slip or fall. Kid-friendly items were thoughtfully placed throughout, yet the sense of luxury and refined atmosphere was never compromised—an excellent balance. Above all, the meals were outstanding. My father loves traveling and is very particular about food, and he couldn’t stop praising it. Every dish was delicious; I especially recommend this Accommodation to anyone who loves fish. The staff member who served us was knowledgeable not only about the cuisine but also about local sightseeing spots, and kindly shared helpful information—we truly appreciated it. If I had to mention one area for improvement, it would be that there weren’t many soft drink options. Also, I would have liked a soda option for the non-alcoholic plum wine (though they probably could have done it if I had asked). This is such a wonderful Accommodation that our whole family agreed we definitely want to stay again. Thank you very much.

    The meals and service were excellent.

    It was my first time back in Minamiboso in a while. This time I switched from another Ryokan and booked this Accommodation, and just as the Reviews said, both the meals and the Room were excellent. The staff were very polite and provided attentive service. There’s no flashy send-off, but I highly recommend it.

    I stayed with my mother and husband. Because my mother has difficulty walking, I briefly mentioned her condition when making the Reservation, and you kindly placed a chair in our Room and took such thoughtful care of us—I can’t thank you enough. My mother was worried about whether she could use the Onsen, but the Facility was considerate in every way, and she was able to enjoy the Onsen without any problems. The meals were also delicious, and we were very satisfied. Thank you so much for your wonderful hospitality. We will definitely visit again!!

    We had an incredibly relaxing stay.

    Although I was a bit concerned about the location after seeing the photos and map showing it higher up in a residential area, it was actually in a quiet villa neighborhood, and I was able to relax very comfortably. Both the meals and the Room were excellent. The spacious feel from the parking area to the building was great. I would definitely like to visit again in summer.

    We had a relaxing stay.

    It was my first stay in a while. As expected, this Ryokan is the best. Not only the Room and bath, but the food is truly delicious. The abalone in particular was large and tender, and it made me smile. The portions were generous, and I felt sorry that I couldn’t finish the final rice dish. They kindly asked if I’d like it made into rice balls, but I didn’t think I could eat any more and declined—though honestly, it did make me feel a bit guilty given the times we’re in. I’m truly sorry. Still, somehow I could manage dessert—there really is a separate stomach for sweets. It’s a very popular Ryokan and Reservations can be hard to get, but I’d love to visit again. I had a wonderful time.

    This was my second s...

    This was my second stay, the first in 2 years and 5 months. Staying in the same Room as last time brought back wonderful memories. The meals, Onsen, Room, and service were all just as good as before, making for a very satisfying trip. I’m also glad I could visit again this year to celebrate your 5th anniversary. Next time, I’d like to invite friends and am planning our schedule.

    A lovely, spotless space with a modern Japanese style. Many guests stay with children or as three generations, and it feels like a very popular Accommodation for families.     The Best Onsen Accommodation for a Relaxing Stay

    I suddenly had a day off, so I searched for a Room with an open-air Onsen bath where I could enjoy great food. I chose the “Honoka” Room with an open-air Onsen bath at Suikai, which I had never visited before. Since it was my first time at this Accommodation and I made a last-minute Reservation the day before, there were very few Room options left, so I was a little worried—but I’m really glad I chose this place. After arriving, we enjoyed a welcome drink and took a moment to relax. The guest room was spacious and even had a massage chair, so we were able to unwind while fully enjoying the Onsen. With the Plan that included a private bath, we refreshed ourselves in the private bath the next morning as well. The food was delicious, and many of the dishes featured bright, cute designs, which made dining even more enjoyable. I was also impressed by how friendly all of the staff were and how warmly they greeted us with smiles. This quality at this price—an incredible value for money. It turned into a wonderful day off. I’d love to visit again.

    We had a wonderful time.

    The quiet Room with an ocean view was very comfortable, and we were able to relax away from everyday life. The food was excellent in both taste and presentation, and the simmered golden eye snapper in particular was outstanding! The Onsen is gentle on the skin, so you can enjoy it at a leisurely pace. In addition to the bath amenities, the in-Room amenitiesparameters are also well stocked, which I felt was a thoughtful touch for women. This is an Accommodation I would like to stay at again in a different season.

    I visit a few times ...

    I visit a few times a year, about once annually. This time as well, both dinner and breakfast were delicious. Everything was excellent, including the sashimi, abalone, and the simmered golden eye snapper. On the way home, I went out to buy the sake that was popular in the tasting and brought it back as a souvenir. Thank you very much.

    I had a very calm and relaxing stay.

    I was very satisfied. The food, especially, suited my taste and was incredibly delicious. The seafood, such as abalone and simmered alfonsino, was of the highest quality. Additionally, the dining area was a completely private room, allowing me to enjoy the delicious meals in a relaxed atmosphere. The service was excellent—attentive without being intrusive. Although the bath is not sourced directly from a hot spring, the bathing area was clean and uncrowded. I found it to be great value for money.

    A very tranquil accommodation

    This accommodation always provides a relaxing and peaceful stay. The warm hospitality of the staff and their meticulous cleaning are truly comforting. This time, I rated the bath a 4 because the washing area in the morning was very cold. It seems that the men's area was also very cold. The changing room was spotless, and it was clear that it is cleaned frequently and thoroughly.

    A superb Ryokan you'll want to visit again

    We visited as a family of three to celebrate our daughter's coming-of-age ceremony. We had a relaxing and rejuvenating time, and we are extremely satisfied. The facility is new and clean, with an abundance of well-thought-out amenities. Of course, the staff provided excellent service with warm smiles throughout our stay. The highlight of the accommodation was the dinner, featuring locally sourced abalone and incredibly fresh fish with outstanding taste and texture. The variety of dishes offered was impressive, blending traditional Japanese cuisine with creative touches that we thoroughly enjoyed. Breakfast was also impeccable. It was such a delightful journey that we wished we could have stayed another night if our budget allowed it. Thank you for the wonderful commemorative photo as well!

    An elegant and sophisticated accommodation with a feminine touch.

    This was my second stay, and it was wonderful. The service was perfectly balanced—not too much, not too little—just right. The bath temperature was pleasantly lukewarm, allowing me to relax and warm up thoroughly. The amenities were well-stocked, leaving me feeling completely satisfied. The meals were exceptional, featuring a large abalone and an array of truly delicious dishes—it was perfect. While I love Ryokusuitei, this trip made me realize that Suikai is just as amazing.     The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the staff provided excellent service. The public bath was conveniently located near the room. I enjoyed the post-bath ice cream (Pino) so much that I ended up eating a lot of it! I had been looking forward to the meals after reading everyone's reviews, and they were truly delicious! The abalone and namero were especially amazing. For the abalone, we chose grilled and sake-steamed options; both were tender, with flavorful liver as well. The namero was delightful on rice or as ochazuke—it had a gentle seasoning that made it incredibly tasty. Although we tend to eat quickly in general and often find ourselves waiting during course meals, the staff here paid close attention even though we dined in a private room. They served each dish at just the right timing, which we greatly appreciated. Both dinner and breakfast were hearty, delicious, and absolutely satisfying! All of the staff members greeted us with warm smiles that made us feel at ease. We had a relaxing and enjoyable holiday here. Thank you very much!

    As always, sophisticated hospitality.

    It is rare to find an accommodation that perfectly combines meals, rooms, and onsen, but Suikai is one of those few. Above all, the hospitality of the staff is impeccable, making it a truly relaxing accommodation. I will visit again when I want to enjoy delicious food!

    Great hospitality

    I booked a cheap Plan, but my Room was upgraded. The Facility was cleaner than it looked on the website, and the meals were good, though they were too large for us. However, the washing area in the public bath was narrow and lacked partitions; it would be great if this could be improved.

    Satisfied with the Onsen and meals.

    The welcome drink option including draft beer was a nice touch. The Onsen, with its saline water, provided excellent warmth. However, the view from the large public bath was not very impressive as it faced the mountains. The meals were satisfying with generous portions of abalone, sashimi, and golden eye snapper. You can request adjustments to rice portions or serving speed by consulting with the staff.
