    A Secluded Adults-Only Accommodation in Imaihama

    Access by car. The approach road is quite steep and not very wide, but access from the parking lot is good. At check-in, we received an explanation of the facilities and then went to our Room. All staff were pleasant. The Japanese-Western Room with a private Onsen was spacious enough. The bed was slightly firm. The Onsen water, sourced from Kawazu Mine and Yatsu, cannot be temperature-adjusted; it was a bit lukewarm, making it comfortable for longer soaks. Meals featured fish dishes and were delicious. Even the modest course had plenty of food. There is also a massage chair in the library.\nAlthough we visited during a holiday period and did not benefit from any special deals, we felt this Accommodation offers good value for money.

    I was impressed by h...

    I was impressed by how clean and comfortable the bathroom facilities were. Since the in-Room bath wasn’t fully open-air but had a window with a screen, we could relax without worrying about insects. The food was all delicious, and before we knew it, we were completely full. Two of us visited after being exhausted from work, and we were able to truly unwind and feel refreshed from the heart. Thank you very much.

    Thank you for your thoughtful hospitality down to the smallest details. As a family-run property, it had a comfortable atmosphere and considerate touches that you don’t find in large Hotels. Above all, we truly enjoyed the delicious meals. The bath is a semi-open-air bath located indoors, but since it was summer, insects sometimes came by to say hello around the bath or even into the Room. It didn’t bother me, but if you’re not comfortable with insects, I’d recommend visiting during cherry blossom season or in cooler weather.

    This was our second stay, and even though we arrived nearly two hours later than planned, thank you very much for welcoming us so kindly. Both the Room and the bath were very clean. We were a bit concerned about mosquitoes given the season, but effective measures with a wonderful fragrance were in place, so we felt completely at ease throughout our stay. The sound system in the loft theater room was excellent—it truly felt like being in a movie theater. We were also shown to a private dining room, which allowed us to relax and enjoy the delicious food at our own pace, almost like in-Room dining. All of the staff were courteous from start to finish, and we had a truly wonderful time. We would love to stay again. Thank you very much for everything.

    We were very satisfied with the spacious, comfortable Room and the cheerful, attentive service. The Onsen in the Room was unusually large, with big windows that made it feel open and airy, and we used it about five times. The smaller-portion meal Plan was more than enough for us. We would love to stay again if we have the opportunity.

    The meals and the Onsen were great.

    Both dinner and breakfast were thoughtfully prepared and very delicious, and the portions were just right for us in our late 50s. The building is not particularly new, but it is well cleaned and well maintained, making for a comfortable stay. The Onsen temperature was also excellent. Three points we wish had been clearly stated on the official website and booking sites: That you must use stairs. There is a long, steep staircase from the parking area to the entrance, and luggage is not carried for you. The Rooms are on the second floor, the dining venue is on the first floor, and the library is in the basement—everything requires stairs. One of us has some knee issues, so if this had been stated we would not have booked in the first place. That the last few hundred meters to reach the Accommodation are narrow switchbacks. Drivers who are not confident may struggle when passing oncoming cars. Knowing this in advance makes a difference mentally. That there are no taxis waiting at Kawazu Station or Inatori Station. Taxi apps do not cover this area; it would be helpful to list local taxi company phone numbers. For reference, we came from Tokyo by Limited Express Odoriko to Kawazu Station. Access from Kawazu Station to Imaihama-Kaigan Station was inconvenient, and we waited 20 minutes in front of Kawazu Station. Also, while each Room’s bath is described as an all-weather semi-open-air bath, in reality it is a standard bathroom with glass windows fitted with screens—not even semi-open-air. In addition, because it is a wooden building, if guests in other rooms are noisy/rough you can hear door/fitting noises and footsteps clearly through the structure.

    I was satisfied.

    We were very satisfied with this Accommodation. All of the dishes, featuring fresh seafood and carefully prepared cuisine, were exceptionally delicious. The Room has a bath with a great view, and it was wonderful to be able to bathe anytime with ease.

    A guest room with a semi-open-air bath rather than a fully open-air bath.

    The food was delicious and the staff were very attentive, but… I made a Reservation because it was listed as a room with an open-air bath; however, I believe it is actually a room with a semi-open-air bath.

    We were completely satisfied with everything.

    We stayed at Yamayuri. The private open-air bath in the Room was wonderful. The water temperature was perfect, and I enjoyed it four times. It’s a bath you’ll want to stay in forever. Both dinner and breakfast felt thoughtfully portioned for a couple nearing 60. To fully enjoy the theater room, you really need at least two nights! We brought our favorite artist’s live Blu-ray and played it, but we were a bit confused about how to operate it. If you’re used to using a PlayStation, I think you’ll be fine. If we have another chance, we’d definitely like to make a Reservation again.

    It was a great accommodation where we could relax.

    It was a wonderful Accommodation where we could treat ourselves to a little luxury. The bath in the Room was perfect in temperature, size, and depth. We chose the sake-steamed abalone for our meal, and it was absolutely delicious as well. The Room was a maisonette type, but I wished the sofa on the first floor had been on the second floor—probably due to space constraints. In any case, we were extremely satisfied; thank you very much.

    Wonderful accommodation!

    The entire Accommodation was filled with a pleasant fragrance, which was very soothing, especially when walking to meals. The food was absolutely delicious. We were able to fully enjoy fresh seafood, and I’m glad we chose to stay here. The homemade drinks were also excellent, and it was great that Room service was available. Both the Accommodation and the Room were kept very clean. Cleanliness is an important factor when choosing an Accommodation, so I hope you will continue maintaining these high standards. It was a wonderful Accommodation.

    Celebrating my husband’s birthday!

    This was my first stay here, and it’s an Accommodation I’d love to visit again. Not only was the Room great, but the Accommodation also has a library where you can borrow manga, books, and magazines to read in your Room—such a wonderful touch that let me relax and enjoy reading for the first time in a while. Of course, the meals were delicious and I was completely satisfied! Thank you so much for your warm and pleasant hospitality from start to finish!

    I’d love to stay here again.

    We finally stayed at this Accommodation, which has great Reviews for in-room dining, accommodating preferred bath temperature, and delicious meals. The lobster Plan was excellent—both the sashimi and grilled dishes were outstanding. The namero served with morning dashi broth and the dried horse mackerel were also wonderful. This Accommodation is very satisfying for fish lovers, and next time I’d like to try the meat dishes as well. With a perfect location for a quiet getaway and understated, attentive service, we were able to relax at ease. We would definitely like to return.

    An Accommodation with Thoughtful Little Touches

    I’ve reached an age where, instead of a buffet-style Accommodation with so many options it’s hard to choose, I prefer a small Accommodation where I can take my time savoring carefully prepared dishes one by one. Family-run Accommodations in particular offer attentive hospitality that larger places often can’t match. Hana no Kaze was exactly that kind of Accommodation. The thoughtfully crafted meal flowed naturally from the appetizers and sashimi to the bouillabaisse, and the menu’s skillful blend of Japanese and Western elements felt refreshingly new. After dinner, when I returned to my Room, a small basket was hanging on the doorknob with a note saying “Please enjoy as a late-night snack,” along with small cookies and chocolates. An Accommodation with unlimited beer after bathing or all-you-can-eat ice cream is nice too, but this was heartfelt hospitality that truly stayed with me.

    This was my first stay. Since bad weather was expected due to an approaching typhoon on the day of our stay, we truly appreciated your thoughtful call. We had been in Izu Kogen since the day before, and we felt relieved when we arrived safely. We stayed in the Room called “Kawazu Sakura,” a spacious and comfortable maisonette-style Room. The second floor has a Japanese-style Room, bedroom, powder room, and a semi-open-air Onsen bath, while the first floor feels like a large living room. We enjoyed our meals at the dining table there. The large windows on the first floor create an open atmosphere with an outstanding view. We chose the light-meal Plan, but it was more than enough and we were very satisfied. Every dish was delicious—especially the bouillabaisse served at dinner and the grilled namero at breakfast; we liked them so much that we wanted seconds. The relaxing atmosphere of the Accommodation, the comfort of the Room, how delicious the food was, and all staff members’ hospitality were truly soothing. Thank you very much for taking such good care of us. We would love to visit again.

    Since two years ago, I have been visiting in August to celebrate a special occasion, and as always, I enjoyed the delicious meals and relaxing baths. The meals here are not only delicious but also served in generous portions. Because of this, I usually choose the "light meal" course to avoid overeating. However, even with that option in the past, I often found myself struggling with how much food there was (it’s so tasty that I want to eat it all but end up feeling too full). Last year, since it was a special anniversary, we added a cake to our course but couldn’t finish everything. Thankfully, they provided us with a takeout box so we could bring the entire cake home (and yes—the cake was absolutely amazing!). This time around though, perhaps because we mentioned before about the large portions being too much for us to finish comfortably—they adjusted it perfectly. We were full but not overly stuffed! They even kindly offered to let us take our dessert back to our room and brought it up for us. The courses generally remain consistent except for appetizers; however, they do offer flexibility if you wish to make changes. That said—I never get tired of their dishes and always look forward eagerly each visit! The bath is semi-open-air and can be enjoyed even on rainy days. The temperature is adjusted perfectly so you can soak for an extended time without discomfort. This summer has been particularly hot; they made slight adjustments upon request which made my experience even better. I also greatly appreciate their Shuttle Service from Imaihama-Kaigan Station—it’s very convenient given that this property is located on quite an elevated area (approximately 100 meters above sea level). In fact—during recent tsunami warnings—some people sought refuge here due its safe location atop high ground; walking up would indeed be challenging otherwise! This family-run establishment exudes warmth—from the gracious smiles of everyone including the senior hostess ("Okami-san"), younger hostess ("Waka-okami"), owner himself—and likely their daughter too—all making guests feel genuinely welcome throughout their stay. In addition: there’s a basement equipped with massage chairs alongside mini-library & smoking room facilities available onsite while amenities provided are thoughtfully comprehensive—even including men-specific grooming products like aftershave lotion etc., ensuring nothing feels lacking during your stay. Although no convenience stores exist nearby—a vending machine placed within lobby offers drinks priced reasonably similar standard machines elsewhere—which proves handy! Moreover beverages served alongside meals remain affordably priced especially appealing towards those fond enjoying alcohol pairings during dining experiences alike! Handcrafted juices such as plum wine syrup-based drinks or yuzu-flavored options consistently delight every visit leaving me excitedly anticipating next year's return already... Thank You once again wholeheartedly hosting another memorable experience this year!

    Exceptional hospitality in every aspect.

    Thank you very much for your hospitality. The title of the plan, "A Little Bit of Deliciousness," mentioned a modest amount of food, but it pleasantly exceeded our expectations in the best way. The variety and quantity of delicious dishes were more than sufficient, and the taste was impeccable. Additionally, alcoholic beverages were reasonably priced, making for an overall outstanding experience. Of course, breakfast was equally delightful. The room's facilities were excellent as well; the private open-air bath allowed us to stretch out and relax while enjoying breathtaking views of the mountains and sea—a truly exceptional room. Furthermore, the kind and attentive service from all staff members was heartwarming. Thank you so much for everything during our stay. We would love to visit again if we have another opportunity!

    Very cost-effective

    Thank you for your hospitality. Good points: 1. The meals were easy to eat, made with local ingredients. While not a kaiseki meal, the simple cooking methods that highlight the ingredients left a very positive impression. 2. Securing this room space at this price is amazing. Although the building and room design are not luxurious, I thought the spaciousness and thoughtful arrangement of beds and TV in the room were excellent. 3. The private bath was large and relaxing. 4. The amenities and refrigerator contents were minimal but well-organized, giving an impression of cost-efficiency being prioritized here. I am delighted to find an accommodation with such a concept as I travel mainly to enjoy Onsen due to my age; staying at all-inclusive accommodations feels wasteful for me, but this place felt like its opposite in a good way. 5. The library provided a nice change of pace. Bad points: I can't think of any; only good impressions remain with me! However, younger guests who eat or drink more might feel dissatisfied here.

    I enjoyed a peaceful moment.

    I stayed here for a reward trip. The minimized interaction with staff, the private open-air bath in the room, and the dedicated dining room for meals made the sense of privacy stand out compared to other ryokans. The food was delicious, and this has become one of the accommodations I want to visit regularly. I will definitely come again!

    It was the best birthday ever.

    My girlfriend made a reservation at the ryokan through this site for my birthday. We stayed in the "Kawazu Sakura" room. The clean and spacious Japanese-style room with a private open-air bath was amazing. The large TV and excellent internet services allowed us to enjoy YouTube and U-NEXT on a big screen, which was very satisfying. The food was delicious with generous portions, and the timing of each dish being served was impeccable. The birthday cake served after the meal was also delightful! Just when we thought we couldn’t finish it, they kindly provided a takeout box, which we truly appreciated. The staff interacted with us just enough without intruding on our private time, making their hospitality very pleasant.

    Private open-air bath is amazing!!

    An Onsen bath with a view of the sea from the mountains—absolutely amazing! The meals were well-separated, allowing us to enjoy a relaxing time just for the two of us. It was a challenge trip with my partner who isn't fond of seafood, but we were blown away by the incredibly fresh dishes. Thank you so much!     I had a relaxing stay.

    We travel domestically as a couple about once a month. For the New Year, we wanted to relax and stayed at "Hana no Kaze," which offers rooms with private Onsen. Since it was winter, we couldn't fully enjoy the views as advertised, which was disappointing. The private bath in the room felt more like a home setup and offered little to no view, so we couldn't experience the extraordinary atmosphere we were hoping for. We had high expectations due to the excellent reviews but may have anticipated too much. Given that this is a small accommodation with only four rooms and not particularly budget-friendly (perhaps due to special New Year pricing), it would be nice if there were more services such as a free drink corner or at least welcome drinks or sweets for guests. On the positive side, the food was delicious! The Ise lobster sashimi that we added on was especially outstanding. However, compared to other Ryokan stays we've experienced, portions seemed smaller overall—there wasn't much meat served; it was mostly fish dishes. While everything tasted great and featured local ingredients (which we appreciated), as people in our 20s, we would have liked some meat options too. Other highlights included having a Dyson hairdryer in our room and a large TV—both of which made us happy. As this seems to be an individually run small accommodation, I imagine there are challenges involved in managing it all. Wishing you continued success! Thank you for hosting us this time around!

    Perfect for those seeking a quiet and relaxing stay.

    I stayed for one night in the maisonette room called "Kawazu Sakura." The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the starry sky from the balcony was stunning. Meals were served in-room for both breakfast and dinner, offering a private atmosphere. The portions were generous, and everything was truly delicious—apologies for not being able to finish it all. There is also a library in the basement where you can borrow books or manga to enjoy in your room's living area. Relaxing there was such a fun experience. The staff provided very polite and warm service at this accommodation. Checking out at 10 AM felt too early—I'd love it if there were a plan with a 12 PM checkout! I hope to stay here again when I have another opportunity.

    Solo travel

    I chose this property for a luxurious retreat. In conclusion, it turned out to be a very fulfilling trip. The nearest station is at the foot of the mountain, so getting there was a bit challenging, but the Imai Beach accessible from the station is very beautiful and soothing. I was very grateful for the shuttle service from the station to the property. Dinner and breakfast were filled with local specialties and the property's unique touches, and they were very delicious. The property is located in a very quiet area, allowing me to relax and unwind. The bath in the early morning, while watching the sea glisten in the sunrise, was the best. Personally, my favorite was the library. You can read manga endlessly while relaxing in a massage chair. You can also take them back to your room, so I read until just before bed. Because it is a small property, I felt a lot of thoughtfulness from the staff towards each guest. I think it will be an enjoyable trip whether you go alone or with someone.
