Oimachi Eggplant
The moment I walked in, I thought I’d arrived in paradise—in a bad way. However, the Onsen water is silky and truly wonderful. Best of all was the food; without a doubt, it was the best I’ve ever had. Highly recommended.

A Classic Accommodation in Abashiri
We were happy to see the energetic Hokkaido dogs again—Miyon, Dan, and Dolly! This Accommodation was satisfying in every way, from the Onsen to the meals, and they even moved our “repeat guest” plaque to our 8th car. Thank you to all the staff for your consistently warm and attentive hospitality.

A truly relaxing accommodation.
There are many nostalgic items on display that will bring back memories for the Showa generation. At breakfast, we saw two Ezo squirrels eating outside the window. Everyone at the Hotel was friendly and approachable, and we had a wonderful time. The only disappointment was the mist sauna and bathroom in the Room. The sauna only warmed to about 40°C, so it wasn’t really usable. The bathtub was also too large, and filling it myself took too long, so I gave up.

A Comfortable Stay
We stayed in a family Room as a family of three. The Room had a small tatami area, which made it very relaxing. It was just the right size for us. We chose the light dinner plan and were able to enjoy all of the dishes. Although the bath was not free-flowing from the source, it was a good Onsen. We would like to come again.

Delicious cuisine
The French dinner in the Standard Plan was of high quality and very delicious. Unfortunately, the portions were large, and I couldn't finish everything. The breakfast the next day was Japanese cuisine, which was also exquisite. The dining venues for dinner and breakfast were different, allowing us to enjoy both the room and the view uniquely. The staff's service was polite and very pleasant. However, the air conditioning in the Room did not work at all. Even though it's Hokkaido, it was midsummer heat. After bathing or before/after meals, we ended up spending most of our time in the lobby instead of our Room.

Overall, it is a homely accommodation.
Stayed for 2 nights and it was excellent. Overall, a well-balanced accommodation. Personally, I would have preferred the French cuisine to be slightly more creative with Japanese elements.

Thank you for your comment. When we first opened, I felt the same way. Initially, we offered a 50% Japanese and 50% Western menu, but as it increased to 60%, then 70%, we received feedback that it was too much and made improvements. Additionally, since breakfast is Japanese-style, dinner has gradually shifted to a Western base. However, incorporating elements of Japanese cuisine into French dishes as a unique touch is also important. We will continue to experiment with various ideas. Garden
This was our third visit, and we were completely satisfied with the food, Onsen, and Room. The staff were friendly, making our stay very pleasant. We enjoyed picking delicious cherry tomatoes in the garden, but it was a bit disappointing that there were no haskap berries or blueberries. We'll definitely come again!

An accommodation I want to visit again.
The collection of American-style trinkets and toys gathered by the previous owner is truly impressive. Strolling through the vast garden, you'll find seasonal flowers in full bloom. Dinner features creative French cuisine, and breakfast can be enjoyed with unlimited servings. The open-air bath, where you hold onto a rope to enter, offers a unique experience. A signature from Chairman Akio Toyoda is displayed as well. This Hotel has a very warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Thank you for your feedback, Mee-san. Northern Dan-Dan is a recreation based on my grandmother's family home. A stream flows through, with slopes adorned with many flowers, and there were plenty of fruits like plums and gooseberries that we could pick and enjoy. Visiting that home was always my greatest joy. We used to visit several times a year, and everyone welcomed us warmly. Returning to My Family Home in Hokkaido
Welcomed by familiar staff, this place feels like a second home! This time, I arrived about 30 minutes early and enjoyed reuniting with Dan-kun, Dolly-chan, and Miyon-chan from Hokkaido University. Dan-kun and Dolly-chan pressed against the wire mesh to greet me warmly, while Miyon-chan was shooed away by Dolly-chan when she tried to come closer. I relaxed in the nostalgic lobby with delicious coffee as always and savored French cuisine creatively prepared with local ingredients. For breakfast, I enjoyed a luxurious seafood bowl for the first time—it was delightful. From check-in to check-out, time flowed leisurely as I soaked in the Onsen, explored the toy room, admired photos on the staircase walls, and fully rejuvenated without a moment of boredom. I'll be back again soon—thank you!

I had an enjoyable and pleasant time.
I arrived a little earlier than the check-in time, but I was grateful to be allowed in with hospitality. I was soothed by the very warm room and the interesting atmosphere of the facility. The Onsen was also nice. The open-air bath was cold but full of fun. As for meals, my spouse and I don't drink alcohol, so we appreciated having them served early. If I may say so, it might not need to be French cuisine. Or how about offering a choice? As our impression from living in Hokkaido for five years, many things that come from Honshu are impressive even without much alteration, while residents of Hokkaido seem to try too hard to modify them. Nevertheless, the meals were good. Breakfast—especially at the venue with a terrace view—was excellent; it was an enjoyable meal time with squirrels and birds around. This experience was precious. We would like to visit again.

I have read your travel memories. Even if you're not fond of alcohol, you have a deep interest in cuisine. "Different places, different things." In Abashiri, the temperature difference in a day can be 10°C, so vegetables and seafood grow firm and delicious. However, due to the harsh winters, our ancestors developed a culture of "preservation" of ingredients. They dried fish, added fish to pickles, stored vegetables underground—enhancing the flavor of ingredients through preservation in their cooking. As you mentioned, the ingredients are sufficient as they are; however, our chefs sometimes like to add a little twist. We hope you'll forgive us as we aim to spread Okhotsk's ingredients through French cuisine. Currently, there is a shortage of chefs worldwide. Looking around the world, Asian cuisine is the most diverse and delicious area. Among them all Japanese cuisine—and especially Hokkaido's ingredients—are top-notch. We hope young people will take more interest in cooking and offer Japanese cuisine to travelers from Japan, Asia, and around the world. Next time, please visit during another season and see our proud garden. Flowers, fruits, small animals, and overlooking Lake Abashiri await you. We look forward to welcoming you again. Oyaji

Favorite Auberge
I had the pleasure of visiting for the fifth time in about a year. The nostalgic and heartwarming hospitality made me feel like I was returning to my hometown, allowing me to relax and unwind from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The full-course dinner, especially the signature "Carrot Mousse with Fresh Sea Urchin," was exquisite and something I look forward to every time! This time, I explored the garden for the first time and discovered the beautiful autumn leaves and adorable Jizo statues, which was a new experience. I was also thrilled to place a chosen figurine on the Repeater Train miniature set on the large single-piece table at the breakfast venue. I will definitely visit again, even if it means taking connecting flights. Thank you for your continued hospitality.

I stayed during the ...
I stayed during the summer vacation a while ago. I couldn't help but laugh (in a good way) at the gap between the atmosphere of the Stays and the meals. I think the meals were satisfying both in the morning and evening. I also enjoyed the spacious garden. The garden where you can sample is interesting. I think it's best to experience the atmosphere of the Stays in person. If I have the chance, it's a Property I'd like to visit again.
