    I had a comfortable stay.

    I stayed here for the first time during the Obon holidays. The staff were very attentive, and the meals and lounge service were excellent. The Hotel and my Room were kept very clean, and the views were wonderful. I did not use the large public bath this time. I wish the gift shop had a wider selection.

    I was very satisfied.

    A typhoon was approaching, so we couldn’t see Mt. Fuji clearly, but thanks to the Hotel’s attentive service, we had a very comfortable stay. Above all, being able to walk around the Hotel in loungewear and slippers like at an Onsen Facility was so convenient and relaxing. We also really enjoyed the late-night soba we’d been looking forward to—there were two varieties, and we were very satisfied. It made us want to stay at other La Vista properties again and build on that satisfaction even more.

    The food is no longer good.

    Since the large public bath here is not an Onsen, I think this is a Hotel where you relax in your Room while enjoying views of Mt. Fuji and good food. However, I feel the food has become less tasty than before, and my family agrees. When we visited several times a few years ago, everything we ate was delicious every time, so this was very disappointing. The main fish and meat dishes were underwhelming, and it was also disappointing that they were completely cold. It also felt like the pace at which the dishes were served was faster than before. The Room was kept clean as always. However, perhaps because the equipment is getting old, the bathroom door did not work properly, so we used the bathroom with it half open. Also, the air conditioning was too strong and it got cold at night. When I tried raising the temperature, it automatically switched to heating at 27°C, so I set it to 26°C and slept with all the doors between the two rooms left open. Turning off the cooling made it too humid to sleep comfortably. There wasn’t anything particularly tasty at breakfast either. The orange juice tasted so bad that it seemed like a type meant to be diluted with water. That said, there were three kinds of cheese and our child enjoyed them. I was also surprised that the cups were plastic and looked heavily worn. It’s easy to get here from central Tokyo, and since our child’s entrance exams are over we had been looking forward to visiting again after a long time—but this stay was very disappointing, so I don’t think we will return.

    Bedding...

    Overall, it was a wonderful Accommodation. Thank you. However, one thing was disappointing: I noticed a “dokudami” (Houttuynia) smell coming from part of the futon or the futon cover. I assume it may have been sun-dried, which I think is actually a nice touch. That’s all.

    Just me?

    The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. Snacks and complimentary drinks were provided, and everything was thoughtfully arranged to help guests relax during their stay. There was no body-washing sponge, so I will bring one next time. I had trouble inserting the Room key each time. It would have been helpful to have clear markings showing which side is up. I would like to stay again.

    I stayed here with my wife and mother-in-law.

    The three of us stayed here: my 84-year-old mother-in-law, my 56-year-old wife, and me (60). We enjoyed a spectacular view with Mt. Fuji appearing huge right in front of us. We were very satisfied with both the food and the attentive service during meals. I understand it can’t be helped, but I wish the shared large public bath were a bit better equipped. Also, the parking lot layout was hard to understand, and even after hearing the explanation it was still confusing. I think there is room for improvement in how guests are guided to the parking area.

    A well-balanced Hotel

    The services are excellent, including a welcome drink, and you can also enjoy views of Mt. Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi from the guest rooms, making it comfortable to spend the whole day. Dinner was tasty, but it didn’t leave a strong overall impression. A staff member asked, “Was there any dish you particularly liked?”, and I found it a little difficult to answer. I don’t mind that it’s French-based. However, highlighting Yamanashi ingredients a bit more or incorporating some Japanese elements to bring out a local feel could add originality and make the meal more memorable. That would help guests feel the fundamental joy of travel—having an experience you can only have here—through the food. Dinner was just slightly disappointing, but overall the quality is high, and if I travel to Lake Kawaguchi again, this is an Accommodation I would choose.

    It was a Hotel built...

    It was a Hotel built in a location with great views. The scenery was wonderful, and we were satisfied to have a clear view of Mt. Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi. Dinner was served as a course meal, and each dish was carefully prepared and very delicious. We enjoyed the variety of ingredients used. All of the dishes were delicious. The breakfast buffet also offered a wide selection of dishes, and it was delicious as well. The Room had a calm Western-style atmosphere, felt very clean, and we were able to stay comfortably. One thing I would say is that I wished the bed were a bit larger. It was hard to tell which baths were Onsen and which were not, which was a little disappointing. However, we still enjoyed the Onsen Facility such as the large public bath and private rock baths. On our way back, we were happy that the shuttle bus driver guided us along the lakeside walkway.

    Even in the rain, we could still see Mt. Fuji.

    I had been looking forward to visiting Lake Kawaguchi, but the weather wasn’t very good and I could only see Mt. Fuji occasionally. Still, the view from the Room was wonderful. Mt. Fuji looked bigger and closer than it did from Oshino Hakkai or Oishi Park. After the rain from the previous day, I thought I wouldn’t be able to see it at all, so it was truly moving to see Mt. Fuji in the morning even though it was raining.\n\nThe Room was very comfortable, and the meals were delicious—I left completely full. All of the staff were friendly as well, making this a very pleasant stay at the Accommodation.

    The stunning views of Mt. Fuji, the courteous service, and everything from the Facility amenities to the meals were all excellent—we were very satisfied. I would love to bring my mother here. We will definitely stay again. We look forward to seeing you then.

    While admiring the sacred Mount Fuji

    This was my fourth stay here. The cheerful greetings from the front desk and all staff are truly comforting. It also feels like there are more staff members who speak Japanese well. As I mentioned in my previous Review, the only thing that feels a bit out of place is wearing loungewear at dinner. Given the staff’s dedicated service and the chef’s carefully prepared dishes, dining in loungewear feels somewhat mismatched... It would be fine at a traditional Ryokan, but it makes me think every time. Please forgive me if this is an unnecessary comment.

    The view of Mount Fuji was spectacular.

    This was my third stay, and the Room, meals, and service were as excellent as before. I stayed in the La Vista Triple, and the view from the Room was fantastic. However, I was disappointed with the air conditioning in the Room. Despite setting a temperature, the room temperature kept rising to an uncomfortable level—sometimes reaching 30 degrees when I woke up—and the humidifier also did not function properly. I hope for more thorough inspections of Facilities in this regard.

    Blessed with stunning views of Mount Fuji

    Staying at a new accommodation for the first time can be nerve-wracking. However, the staff responded kindly and thoroughly to our inquiries beforehand, exceeding our expectations. The view of Mt. Fuji from the window was truly "La Vista!" Additionally, the room amenities (including coffee bean grinding tools—what a nice touch!), post-bath ice bars (delicious, with Yakult in the morning), welcome drinks, and late-night noodle service (though we were too full to try) provided an incredibly satisfying experience. We are also grateful for all the thoughtful care from every staff member, which made our stay very pleasant. Although there was some trouble on the hotel's side that day, we would love to stay here again if given another opportunity!

    It was a wonderful Hotel where you can relax and unwind comfortably.

    Everything about the Hotel was excellent. The food was very delicious and satisfying, but I felt that there could be more options for allergy-friendly meals. For example, this time, there were no alternatives for appetizers containing seafood for someone with a severe seafood allergy. It would be great if single-item orders were available. I would love to stay at this Hotel again.

    Thoughts on My Third Visit

    We visited after paying respects at Fuji Reien during the autumn equinox, traveling from Osaka. As always, I was impressed by the restaurant staff's excellent service. Their approach is modest without being overbearing, yet their high level of service and attentiveness is evident. However, one disappointing aspect is that despite being a lovely restaurant, guests are allowed to enter in Room wear during dinner (and breakfast). I noticed some guests coming directly from the public bath. While I’m not suggesting a strict dress code, perhaps a small emphasis on manners could enhance the dining experience. At breakfast, seeing some guests eating in disheveled Room wear as if they had just woken up made me reflect on whether prioritizing convenience above all else is truly ideal. This is merely my personal opinion; if La Vista’s concept aligns with enjoying meals in yukata like at a traditional Japanese Ryokan’s banquet hall, then I believe it would be great to continue this tradition consistently without compromise. Personally, when visiting Ryokans myself, I enjoy dining in yukata as well. I understand opinions may vary depending on individuals; however, since I had an opportunity to share my thoughts here through this post—please take no offense!

    It was a wonderful trip.

    The staff were very polite, and the food was truly delicious and satisfying. This time, the entrance to the Room felt a bit narrow, but the view from the Room was great. Regarding seating during meals, for dinner, it was understandable that we were seated side by side facing the window since there were only two of us. However, for breakfast, even though we were first to arrive and seated by the window—perhaps because of the nice view—it would have been nice if we had been asked whether we preferred a table seat instead. After all, it's better to eat facing each other. Other than that, everything was excellent!

    A Hotel of Memories with My Mother

    We stayed at this hotel as a family of four when it first opened, and my mother loved it so much (with Mount Fuji visible right in front, an impressive full-course dinner, delicious breakfast, excellent services, and a clean interior) that we promised to come back together. However, she passed away due to illness two years ago before we could fulfill that promise. This year, I returned with my sister's family and brought my mother's portrait to stay again. The hotel was just as perfect as it was back then. Thank you to the front desk staff for taking a family photo with her portrait before we left.

    Private stone bath with a courtyard view

    The tree planted in the courtyard of the private stone bath was left withered, which felt a bit lonely. The website shows greenery, so it might be worth updating. The staff were very pleasant and made the stay satisfying. Although Mount Fuji was not visible upon arrival, its full view appeared the next morning, which was wonderful.

    Friendly Staff

    I stayed for one night at La Vista in Kirishima, which I found wonderful during my previous visit. The facility's atmosphere was the same, full of resort vibes. I chose a room with an indoor bath, and since it had glass walls allowing access to the balcony, it felt like a semi-open-air bath. Dinner was served late, but the lounge offered wine, drinks, and tarts to satisfy small appetites—very convenient. However, it would be nice if there were more meal-like options alongside snacks and tarts. The staff were friendly and well-trained to provide thorough explanations during dinner service, making the experience enjoyable after a long time. Although dinner was French cuisine, they kindly offered rice cooked with ingredients along with soup and pickles upon request as an additional dish. Breakfast seemed tailored for families with children; while there was a decent variety of options available, it felt slightly underwhelming overall.

    This was my first time staying here! I had a wonderful time. The view was great, and there were plenty of free services available. Above all, the variety of private baths allowed me to relax and enjoy them at my own pace. It was truly excellent! I would love to stay here again.

    Very satisfied.

    The Room felt slightly small, but the view from the Room was amazing. The meals were very delicious, and the restaurant seating offered a fantastic view of Mount Fuji right in front. The staff's service was excellent as well. Being slightly away from the bustling area of Lake Kawaguchi, it provided a calm and relaxing atmosphere.

    A stylish Hotel with great value for money

    Great value for money and very satisfying. Polite explanation at check-in. Stylish interior of the room. While not an Onsen, the spacious indoor bath was relaxing. The outdoor bath is small, but you can enjoy the Onsen in the large public bath. Stunning views of Mount Fuji overlooking Lake Kawaguchi. A classic yet sophisticated French dinner and a breakfast buffet with plenty of variety. One suggestion would be to provide carts for guests with lots of luggage, as there is no direct escort to rooms (though they may already have this). I really enjoyed my stay here. This Hotel offers a unique charm—stylish and elegant without being overly luxurious (apologies if this sounds impolite). Thank you for your hospitality, and keep up the great work!

    No view of Mount Fuji.

    The advertised World Heritage view was not provided, and despite requesting to dine with a view of Mt. Fuji, both dinner and breakfast seating had no visibility of the mountain. The public bath only offered a view of overgrown weeds from the tub. Additionally, there seemed to be insufficient guidance for international guests, as some entered the bath without washing and wrapped in towels. The pike conger served at dinner was not properly deboned, leaving sharp bones that were unpleasant to eat. While I generally enjoy La Vista properties, this was unfortunately my least favorable experience among them.

    The windows were dirty, which was disappointing.

    The room was charming, the view of Mt. Fuji was excellent, the food was delicious, and both the Onsen and the private bath in the room were amazing. However, for a room costing around 100,000 yen per night, the windows were unusually dirty and covered with bird droppings. I wanted to take photos of Mt. Fuji from inside through the glass but had to give up because it was too dirty. Since the lounge windows were clean, it would be appreciated if you could also clean the room windows. Given how large they are, it's a shame not to make full use of them. Other than that, everything else was truly wonderful!

    Welcome Drink

    It would be nice to have beer. At other La Vista locations, during a Multiple Night Stay, snacks and coffee were placed in front of the Room every day.

    It had an open-air bath, but

    Stayed in a room with an open-air bath. The location was great with a balcony offering a panoramic view of Mt. Fuji, but it was not an onsen. You had to fill the tub with water yourself and add onsen minerals, which was a bit disappointing, so I didn't use it. The large public bath had a great view and was relaxing. The four private baths didn't offer a view, but there was no time limit, and no reservation was needed, so you could use them anytime if they were available, allowing for a leisurely experience. The staff was very pleasant and made the stay comfortable. Each table at dinner had a dedicated server, and the timely service was excellent.

    The story is different.

    I reserved a non-smoking room, but the room smelled of cigarettes. They said there was no replacement room available. When I mentioned it to the front desk, they used an ozone deodorizer, which looked like a humidifier, for an hour, but the discomfort remained. The room wear also smelled like the dining hall, and the pillow was smelly (though the sheets were washed). However, the front desk staff who attended to me was a nice young man, so I endured it. The bathroom lacked cleanliness, and the food was a poor imitation of French cuisine. At the breakfast buffet, the meal I had prepared was cleared away as leftovers while I went to get a spoon. Even when I pointed out how terrible it was, there was no sign of remorse. The overwhelming lack of manpower and poor staff training were evident everywhere. I don't think I'll ever make a reservation again, and I plan to avoid Kyoritsu Resort.
