    Five-Star Guest Satisfaction Ryokan

    It was my first visit in several years, and the Onsen, meals, service, and the staff’s hospitality were all wonderful. I was especially impressed that you even cleaned our car at checkout. We’ve gained another unforgettable memory, and we will definitely return. Thank you to all the staff.

    We had a relaxing stay as a family!

    We stayed in a Maisonette Suite Room. The night view was wonderful, and being able to watch the sunrise from the in-room bath was the best. It happened to be a day when fireworks were launched from the sea, so after dinner our family enjoyed watching them from our Room. We made great memories spending relaxed time together as a family—such a luxurious experience. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent—delicious and very filling. The staff were also incredibly kind, and we definitely want to come again. This is an Accommodation I’d love to recommend to friends. It was such a lovely place that our children said they didn’t want to go home and wanted a Multiple Night Stay! We were also able to use all of the private baths, which was fantastic. Thank you very much.

    The food was delicious and very filling, and we were able to relax in every bath. The staff’s hospitality was wonderful, and our first trip as a family of three became a great memory. This Accommodation truly made us want to come again. Thank you very much.

    A thoroughly enjoyable stay.

    I stayed here on a friend’s recommendation. It’s an Accommodation where you can truly relax and enjoy your time. Because the weather was bad and there were fewer guests, I was able to try all of the baths. Each bath has its own character, and I enjoyed the spring quality and water temperature. The complimentary lounge was also great. The meals were very good, but due to my age the portions were too large, so I couldn’t finish everything.

    We’re happy to offer a private bath.

    I ended up staying overnight in Beppu on short notice, and this was my first time staying here. After making a Reservation, I received a confirmation call, was warmly welcomed at the entrance, and they even moved my car to the parking area—everything was taken care of. The Onsen is available as a private bath, and it was convenient to check via LINE whether it was in use or available. The free lounge was great, though I think it would be even better if it were larger. The Room with an open-air bath also had many thoughtful touches that made me happy. The lavender sachet placed on the pillow helped me sleep comfortably. I’d like to come again.

    The bath water is too hot.

    The Room bath water was too hot to use comfortably, and the Room toilet was also not working properly.

    The temperature of the Onsen was just right, and I enjoyed soaking in it multiple times.

    This was my second stay. The room this time was a Japanese-Western style room, different from the previous visit. The bead cushion in the Japanese-style area felt a bit uncomfortable to use; a slightly larger size might be more relaxing. However, everything else, including the open-air bath and spacious bed, was highly satisfying. The private open-air bath was also kept very clean, allowing me to refresh and escape from daily life. Thank you for considering not repeating the same menu as last time for the meals; they were absolutely delicious. Breakfast was also thoughtfully prepared and very enjoyable. After breakfast, I had coffee made with onsen water—it was incredibly smooth and flavorful. This is an accommodation I would love to visit again if given the opportunity!

    The bath is available based on timing.

    Overall, it was a lovely accommodation. However, it was disappointing that many of the baths were reserved, so we couldn't use the ones we wanted before leaving. The meals were said to feature (wonderful ingredients of the day), but for around ¥50,000 per person, they were quite ordinary and very disappointing.

    The bath and the room were comfortable, but...

    The quality of the food was very disappointing. The vinegared dish "Fugu Skin Salad" had gelatin that had solidified by the time it was served, and when lifting one piece of skin, the entire portion stuck together, suggesting it had been prepared long before serving. Additionally, the grilled dish "Grilled Mackerel with Sake Lees and Yuzu Aroma" was burnt on one side to the point of being too hard to eat, and there was no detectable yuzu aroma. It seemed likely that these dishes were pre-cooked and reheated later; however, at least a sense of freshness or savoriness should have been preserved. I shared these concerns with the staff but only received a brief response: "We will ensure this does not happen again," without any specific follow-up actions taken. This goes beyond simply not suiting personal taste—it reflects issues in cooking and service management. While I appreciated the overall atmosphere of the accommodation, I strongly hope for stricter quality control over meals in the future.

    Delicious Meals

    Both dinner and breakfast were meticulously prepared and incredibly delicious. Dinner was enjoyed leisurely over two hours. As we talked about how slowly the sun was setting, it had completely set by the time we finished eating, allowing us to fully savor the dining experience. The flooring on part of the terrace in our room with an open-air bath was deteriorated, posing a potential risk of injury. We kindly request repairs for safety. The lighting inside the room, including in the restroom, was dim and moody. Since my parents are concerned about their footing, adjustable brightness would have been appreciated. There was a fragrance throughout the facility that may not suit everyone's preferences; personally, I did not find it appealing. However, the lavender sachets by the bedside had a subtle scent that I found pleasant and have since placed them in my car. The lounge was quiet with very few users, allowing us to relax comfortably. It would have been even more delightful if coffee or other beverages could be enjoyed at Yakushi no Yu Onsen for added charm. Unfortunately, as taking drinks out of the lounge is prohibited, I couldn’t bring any back to my parents who stayed in our room. We were able to use a private bath smoothly by checking availability via LINE messaging. The space was ample with water temperature just right after stirring slightly—an enjoyable experience overall. The bath had an exotic ambiance that surprised us; rather than feeling like a traditional steamy onsen inn (Yukemuri Onsen Yado), it resembled a stylish spa-like onsen instead!

    It was a good accommodation.

    The service was excellent. The staff who assisted with the dinner was particularly pleasant. The meal itself might have been the best I've ever had. While meals at other Ryokans often feel repetitive, each dish here was truly impressive. The private open-air bath in the Room was also wonderful.

    I had a relaxing time during the holiday.

    From Beppu Station, we took a taxi as the road gradually narrowed and climbed uphill. The taxi driver asked, "Is it Hill or Moon?" and we replied, "Tsuki no Omoi." It seemed the drop-off point was different than expected. Upon arrival, we received an explanation about the facility and understood. We immediately enjoyed a private family bath after arriving. Each family bath had its own unique features. On the first day, we tried two baths along with the large public bath; on the second day, we experienced two more baths—enjoying all four in total. The spring quality also seemed slightly different for each one. Unlike other ryokans, there was no need for reservations or time restrictions for using the baths, allowing us to enjoy them at our own pace. The ice cream in the lounge after bathing was delicious! However, I felt that the lounge was a bit small (it gets full with three groups), and since it wasn’t open in the morning, I wished I could have enjoyed it until just before check-out. Dinner was served on stylish tableware and was luxurious with generous portions. It was delicious and very filling! All of the staff were incredibly kind—thank you so much!

    I was able to spend a relaxing time.

    Despite checking in late, the staff was accommodating. The private bath availability could be checked via the app, which was convenient. The Room was spacious, and the meals were delicious, overall we were satisfied. However, the changing room for the private bath was cold, and the fire for the hot pot during the meal went out halfway, leaving it cold at the end, which was disappointing.

    Not worth the price.

    The facility seemed old, and the noise was terrible. There was a sound like something moving, a knocking sound like wood hitting, that continued every few seconds to a few minutes. During the day, it wasn't too bothersome due to the sound of the TV, but when trying to sleep, the noise echoed and I couldn't sleep at all. It was so bad that I contacted the front desk, but there was no response as it was past midnight. Also, one of the two air conditioners in the room was too noisy, so I turned it off when sleeping. There was a pot of cold water from the hot spring? in the room, but it had a dirty tag on it, which was unpleasant. The meals were just ordinary, traditional inn cuisine. I chose the meat plan, and it was the type where you grill on an iron plate, common in old inns, which was dangerous as the oil splattered up to my face, and no matter how much oil I used, the meat stuck to the plate. Sometimes, the meat served was mostly fatty. The staff's service wasn't very good either. When I pointed out the noise issue at checkout, they just said, "What noise?" When I was about to take out my car, they suddenly started wiping the mirrors and windows, which was dangerous and annoying. If something happened, it would be my responsibility, so this unnecessary consideration? display was unpleasant until the end.

    It was an inn where I wanted to stay for many nights.

    From the initial welcome to the farewell, the service was wonderful, allowing us to have a pleasant stay. Both dinner and breakfast were highly satisfying in terms of quality and volume, and the lounge service was a delight for those who enjoy alcohol. The private open-air bath and the open-air bath in the room were clean, allowing us to fully enjoy the Beppu hot springs, which was very satisfying. The only issue was with the room window; although I didn't notice it during the day, at night, there was a part in the middle that was completely white and dirty, which was a bit of a shame given the beautiful night view. Overall, it was truly a great inn. Thank you very much. I definitely want to use it again.

    The private bath and the view were great!

    We chose to stay here because of the private bath, lounge service, and high reviews, thinking it would suit us well. Unexpectedly good points: We stayed in the Tsukino Sou Japanese-style room, and the view of Beppu Bay from the window was very beautiful. The night view was, of course, stunning, but the sunrise was also beautiful. After dinner, I accidentally fell asleep, and by the time I realized it, the private bath in the large public bath had ended, so the half-open-air flowing bath in the room was much appreciated. It was a luxurious bath time all to myself! I was also pleased with the lavender sachet placed when the futon was laid out. A bit disappointing points: The lounge service felt lacking. The ice cream that resembled Pino was nice, but the lack of variety in snacks and sweets was disappointing. I also wished I could have had coffee the next morning. The hot water was very good, the meals were satisfying, and the service was pleasant. Overall, it was a stay with no regrets, and thank you very much.

    Very, very, very satisfied.

    It was a free size, but women could borrow and wear their preferred yukata. I recommend taking a bath in the stone bath with a single board first thing in the morning. The sunrise and morning glow seen with the sound of insects in the cool air was a spectacular view. The family bath was also relaxing and unhurried. Additionally, the customer service was attentive and considerate. We had a pleasant trip.

    Enjoyed six types of hot springs.

    We used this accommodation for a seasoned couple's tour with my husband and I, who are celebrating our 60th birthdays this year, and my parents, who are rounding up to 90 years old. We were satisfied with all the four types of private baths, the large public bath, and the open-air bath in our room. The view of the dawn over Beppu Bay from the open-air bath in our room was particularly wonderful. The meals were luxurious and left nothing to be desired. (My father was full and satisfied after eating about half of it, though...) Also, the post-bath lounge was not just a place where leftover alcohol from dinner service was lined up like in some hotels, but I felt it was thoughtfully arranged so that both those who drink and those who don't could enjoy their time after the bath. We were able to use it at a very reasonable price through a reservation on Ikkyu.com, but with such attentive service, I felt almost guilty about the price. I would like to use it again if the opportunity arises.
