    We were extremely satisfied.

    From the moment we arrived, the subtle scent of incense in the air and the front desk staff’s beaming smiles left a lasting impression. The Room was spacious and spotless, and soaking in the in-room bath with orchid flowers floating on the water while listening to the sound of the waves was pure bliss. The meal began with exquisite sashimi, and we enjoyed being able to savor a variety of dishes little by little. Since we had mentioned that this trip was to celebrate my husband’s retirement, you kindly provided everything—dishes, dessert, and even a commemorative photo on a photo plate—as complimentary services, which truly moved us as a couple. The post-dinner event was also fun, making it a relaxing yet exciting and memorable one-night, two-day stay. Thank you so much to all of your staff.

    It was my first time using this service.

    This was my first time visiting the Minami-Chita Peninsula. The scenic open-air Onsen was decent, but compared with other Onsen trips I’ve taken, I didn’t find the indoor bath very good. The meals were a good portion size, which was nice.

    Family Trip

    This trip was truly enjoyable thanks to the Ryokan’s thoughtful hospitality. Thank you for your consideration for my pregnancy and for the wonderful surprise. I’m glad we chose Genjiko, and that it was so conveniently located nearby. It became a truly memorable experience.

    Not recommended at all.

    I booked a day-use Onsen Plan that included a meal and use of a Room. I made the Reservation through IKYU at 8:54 a.m. on the day for a Plan that allows Room use from 11:30. I arrived around 11:40, allowing about 10 minutes after check-in time, but the Room was not ready. Worse, they said they would “check the Reservation (from now).” More than two and a half hours had passed since I made the Reservation, and I had already paid immediately by card—how is this possible? Also, because it was a same-day Reservation, I called the Accommodation right after booking just in case, but an automated message said, “Please call after 10:30.” If your company policy is to replace various processes with IT systems, you should at least be able to confirm Reservations. The front desk showed no consideration; I was simply kept waiting with no explanation. Guests checking in later were guided ahead of me as well—it was very unpleasant. (The explanation above was only given after I asked.) I booked specifically to relax in my Room, yet I ended up losing valuable time. Since it was a meal-included Plan, I went for lunch, but the trouble at the front desk had not been communicated. That led to more delays when discussing requests such as ingredients I cannot eat. (They asked me, “Did you tell this at the front desk?” so I replied, “There was an issue and nobody asked me anything.”) There was no handover between staff members; it added to my frustration. In short, their mistakes kept wasting my time. It wasn’t restful at all—what should have been healing during my busy days was ruined. At checkout, I expected some kind of comment or apology, but nothing—just an additional charge for drinks and that was it. When being directed out of the parking lot they asked me, “How did you like lunch?” so I said, “Do you not know what happened?” They only looked confused and did not ask further. Unfortunately there had been no internal communication whatsoever; it was terrible service. Chita is one of Aichi Prefecture’s well-known Onsen areas. This Accommodation belongs to a group that operates multiple properties. You can see this on their website—please be careful.

    A bit disappointing.

    The most disappointing point was that during my stay I was provided with only one towel and one bath towel. There were no towels available at the open-air bath, so I had to bring them from the Room. Also, although the Facility is old, I felt the lighting was generally too dim. The toilet in particular was far too dark. There were no issues with the meals or service, and that was the only saving grace. Overall, I probably wouldn’t stay again.

    We had a relaxing stay.

    I visited Genjikoh in Minamichita for the first time to relax in the Onsen. From the warm welcome, we enjoyed chatting about a small connection we had in common, and both the delicious meals and kind service left me completely satisfied. The Onsen was wonderful not only for its water quality, but also for the beautiful view from the open-air bath, allowing me to truly unwind. Thank you very much. There was just one disappointing point. After dinner the previous evening, I was told that checkout might be crowded the next day and that it would be convenient to settle all payments that night, so I did. However, at checkout I was asked to pay again, and I had to present my Receipt myself. That left me feeling disappointed at the very end. Aside from that matter, my stay was truly comfortable.     Abundant Onsen Hot Water

    Our family suddenly decided to travel to Aichi Prefecture, and we found Genjikou online. What a wonderful experience it turned out to be! Starting with the warm welcome of matcha and sweets (so delicious we ended up buying some), the open-air bath, the stunning view from our Room, the high-quality cuisine, and the entire Hotel embodying the theme of "The Tale of Genji" with incense and concept perfectly aligned. Above all, the staff's exceptional hospitality stood out. Even though our request for an uchikake (bridal kimono) experience was last-minute, they accommodated us graciously. We were extremely satisfied with our stay. Our whole family is already saying they want to visit again! Next time, we plan to choose a more relaxed Plan so we can fully enjoy our time at the Hotel without any rush.

    A Long-Awaited Visit to the Chita Peninsula

    We decided to go on a sudden drive and stayed at an accommodation on the Chita Peninsula for the first time in a while. It was an accommodation that fulfilled our wish to enjoy delicious food while looking at the sea. The efforts to cut costs were evident, and we felt that we received services worth the price we paid.     The Best Day

    Surrounded by a pleasant fragrance, I enjoyed the Onsen both in the open-air bath and indoor bath comfortably. Although the building shows some aging, the Room was spacious, with delightful incense and an amazing view of the sea from the window. The food was also delicious. When I arrived with wet feet, a female staff member kindly handed me a towel and showed such thoughtful care.     Birthday Trip

    We stayed here on the second day of our trip to Nagoya, which was a birthday gift for my husband. The room had an open-air bath, and we were soothed by the ocean view from both the room and the bath. Although it was cloudy, which was a bit disappointing, we enjoyed the incense provided in the room. During dinner, they prepared a lovely plate as a birthday gift and even gave us a framed commemorative photo. Thank you so much! The bathroom was equipped with Refa's hair dryer, straightener, and curling iron. The shampoo set and showerhead were also from Refa.

    It was very relaxing!

    I stayed for one night with my wife. From the moment we arrived at the parking lot to the time we left, the staff provided excellent and attentive service, making this Onsen accommodation very relaxing. The room was spacious, with a stunning view of the ocean through the large window. The meals were incredibly delicious, featuring plenty of local ingredients. The open-air bath offered a fantastic view, but the women's bath, which was a rock bath, had sharp rocks that seemed a bit dangerous, so I deducted one star for that. Overall, the service, food, facilities, and location were all very satisfying at this Ryokan. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't great during our stay, so we hope to visit again when the weather is better.

    I stayed at a nearby Onsen Ryokan for a one-night, two-day trip. The open-air bath was refreshing, and the meals were delicious! However, the sauna closed at 8 PM, which overlapped with dinner time, so it would be great if it stayed open a bit later. I chose the SDGs Plan for my stay, and participating in beach cleaning on the second morning was a valuable experience.

    Warm hospitality

    We stayed here for a family trip. Since one of our companions was pregnant, we called in advance to ask if the raw dishes in the dinner course could be substituted, and they kindly accommodated our request. On the day of our stay, they replaced the sashimi for the pregnant guest with cooked dishes like grilled fish and shrimp (we hadn't thought about breakfast, but they also made sure to adjust any raw items for that meal as well). Additionally, at the end of dinner, we were surprised with a bouquet and red rice balls to celebrate her pregnancy. They even took photos for us, making it a memorable trip. The Facility itself had some older features like creaky sliding doors but was clean and comfortable overall. We enjoyed relaxing in a spacious Room. The ocean view from our Room was stunning. There was a sandy beach just across the road where we could take leisurely walks (some people were even swimming nearby). The tea and sweets served during check-in were delicious as well. Thank you for your hospitality—we would love to stay again!

    I had high expectations, but...

    For a sudden trip, I booked the Ryokan "Genjiko" to enjoy meals and Onsen. Using IKYU Points, I stayed for over 38,000 yen instead of the original price of over 48,000 yen for one night and two days. It was my first trip to the Chita Peninsula, and I was really looking forward to it. At check-in, I requested a room upgrade if possible but received no explanation about the result—just a mechanical explanation of the facilities. Since check-in was after 3 PM, they recommended an early dinner at 5 PM. Feeling rushed, I opted for 6 PM instead. Upon entering my Room after check-in and inspecting it, I found several thin strands of hair on the sink as well as trash and hair in the basin... This immediately dampened my mood. While it's understandable that the Room is old, even the TV was small and not clearly visible from the bed. I visited the open-air bath on the 10th floor but found that not only was it lukewarm but also had small debris floating in it. The drainage in the washing area wasn't properly sloped either; water pooled around my feet after rinsing off—absolutely shocking. It felt unhygienic. Dinner featured their "Genji Zen," supposedly their most expensive course meal; however, it was just average with no memorable moments. Breakfast left me stunned when they seated me—a solo traveler—at one end of a table meant for four people with my meal set there. Normally you would expect seating at a more appropriate position like at an upper seat! The breakfast itself? Also ordinary... very disappointing. This experience did not match its nearly 50k yen price tag—it felt more like something worth half that amount (around 25k yen). While female staff members displayed excellent hospitality skills overall—which deserves praise—the rest made this stay deeply regrettable as if throwing money away into nothingness. I will never return again!

    During the Obon period, I spontaneously searched for a place to stay and found one room available, so I made a Reservation. At the reception counter, I was asked if there was any special occasion, and I mentioned that it would be my mother's birthday in two days. They kindly offered to take a photo for us, which we looked forward to while enjoying our meal. To our surprise, my mother's dessert at the end of the meal was lavishly presented with red rice included. We also received the photo as a gift, and my mother was deeply touched by this unexpected gesture. The staff were incredibly accommodating with details such as providing guidance on routes to the island and exchanging small change, making our stay very comfortable.     I stayed here once as a new employee. While some parts of the building show signs of aging over the years, the staff's warm and kind service remains unchanged. The open-air bath offered a magical experience with the gentle night breeze and moonlight illuminating the vast ocean.     As an elderly couple, overseas travel has become difficult for us, so we have been visiting Onsen in places like Izu and Shima-Toba. This time, we stayed at Genjikoh with our grandchild who returned home early. Despite it being the swimming season, it was surprisingly quiet, allowing us to relax and enjoy a peaceful stay. The rooftop observation bath offered stunning views, making it just as satisfying as traveling to Izu or Toba. The meals were also delightful and greatly enjoyed by our growing grandchild.     I feel refreshed.

    I visit nearby Onsen accommodations once every 1-2 months. This time, I searched for an accommodation in Minamichita, about an hour from home, as a relaxing getaway. It was my first time staying at Genjikoh. For women, there were cute yukatas to choose from, and the room had a ReFa hair dryer and hair iron, which made me happy. I enjoyed both the open-air bath on the top floor and the private open-air bath in my room. The meals were very delicious. The dinner portion felt slightly small? But I was satisfied as I could have extra rice. At checkout, I received a handwritten letter from the staff and noticed through my rearview mirror that they waved goodbye even after my car started moving out of the parking lot—such thoughtful service! Though it’s a cozy place, it’s truly a wonderful accommodation. Thank you for your hospitality!

    Just as expected!

    We stayed here for a trip with five high school friends. The facility and room were clean, and the panoramic onsen on the top floor offered an amazing view of the sea right in front of us. The Chita beef course dinner and freshly made tamagoyaki served at breakfast were delicious, allowing us to enjoy a wonderful reunion after a long time.

    We stayed here to celebrate his birthday. The guest room and service had a charming traditional atmosphere while being friendly, which was wonderful.
