    Building Structure

    Everything from check-in and check-out to payment was done on my smartphone, which made it very smooth and convenient. The meals were delicious as well. Since we had a Multiple Night Stay, thank you for being considerate with the menu. The Onsen was also excellent. However, just one thing: was the Hotel renovated from an older building? There was a step at the Room entrance, which made it a little difficult to enter, and since it’s the doorway, I noticed it every time. Also, since tips could be paid individually by smartphone, I wanted to leave one, but it was hard because I couldn’t easily find the staff members’ names. The location on higher ground was great too. Overall, I felt it offered good value for money.

    It should be fine as long as you prepare in advance.

    All the staff were kind. The food also felt sincerely prepared—hard to believe at this price. It felt like a typical Accommodation with great hospitality but a low service level. It’s not really my style, but the kids were happy, so we might come again.

    I was able to relax and enjoy the Onsen.

    The staff’s warm hospitality made us feel truly cared for, and we were able to forget about everyday life and relax in the Onsen. We also enjoyed the course dinner. We’d love to visit again.

    It was a relaxing Ho...

    It was a relaxing Hotel. The front desk staff were very kind. The open-air bath is a bit small, but the Onsen at Shika-no-Yu was wonderfully soothing. The view from the lounge was also lovely. After check-in, we enjoyed a welcome drink and relaxed in the lounge. We had dinner via room service, and the hamburger steak was delicious. Since some of the Facility is a little dated, I had to look around for an outlet to charge my smartphone and other devices. Overall, it met my expectations.

    The Onsen was great.

    The exterior felt a bit old, but the inside was clean and seemed to have been renovated. The Room was also clean. The Onsen was a nice bath with a milky-white color and a sulfur scent. There were instructions on how to bathe, and after soaking for about 15 minutes as directed, I felt warmed through to the core. I had high expectations for the meals; they weren’t bad, but they didn’t really impress me. As soon as I finished eating, the next dish arrived, and it didn’t feel freshly made, so I wondered if some items might have been prepared in advance. Given that there were few staff members, they still provided courteous service, so I understand it may have been unavoidable. Since meals are my priority, I rated it an average 3 stars, though I’d say everything else was around 4 stars.

    The food is delicious.

    I made a Reservation because there was little snow in Nasu Highlands this year. Check-in was via smart check-in, and it was easier than I expected. The lobby and lounge are spacious and have a great atmosphere. In the lounge, I relaxed with a cup of coffee while enjoying the view outside. The bath includes an open-air sulfur hot spring called Shika-no-Yu, which soothed my tired body and left me feeling refreshed. Dinner was a set course featuring an appetizer of Yashio trout and a Tochigi Wagyu Takumi steak, and I was very satisfied. I’m also grateful for the kind and attentive service from all the staff. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

    The dinner was disappointing.

    We stayed in the Deluxe Twin Room A with our 1-year-old child. The room was spacious enough to relax comfortably. The onsen was also excellent. Since our child is small, we decided to have meals at the hotel. For dinner, it was a half-buffet style, but perhaps because they focused on the main dishes, the buffet selection was limited and felt incomplete. While the main dishes were made with high-quality ingredients and tasted good, they lacked volume, making the overall dining experience less satisfying.

    The lounge is excellent.

    The Onsen at Shika no Yu was very relaxing. The view from the lounge was also beautiful. I woke up early in the morning, enjoyed the Onsen, and watched the sunrise while having coffee in the lounge. I had a peaceful and leisurely time. Thank you very much.

    Onsen is the best!

    The open-air bath at Shika no Yu was exceptional in appearance, aroma, and comfort. Additionally, the welcome drinks included a variety of options such as wine and snacks, which were incredibly enjoyable after a long drive.

    The meals were disappointing.

    I had stayed here repeatedly before the management changed, and this time I stayed again after a long time. Previously, the full-course meals were delicious, so I was somewhat looking forward to it this time as well, but the meals were disappointing—extremely disappointing.

    The accommodation staff are kind, so you can look forward to your stay.

    The anticipated meal was disappointing. The main dishes for dinner, both meat and fish, did not suit my family’s preferences. We prefer lean red meat, but it was marbled beef. While many may find marbled beef delicious, it wasn’t to our taste. The fish had an unpleasant odor and was inedible for us. We stayed for two nights, but upon hearing that the menu would be the same the next day (though with a variation in flavor), we decided to cancel the second dinner as it wasn’t something we wanted to eat two days in a row and opted to dine out instead. Naturally, there was no refund provided. Additionally, cleanliness is expected in facilities like bathrooms within accommodations. Despite choosing this accommodation with hopes of creating memorable experiences through clean facilities and delicious meals—even at a higher Accommodation Fee—our expectations were not met. For an Accommodation Fee of around 20,000 yen per night, I would consider it average at best. However, the staff were kind and accommodating; I believe improvements can be made moving forward.

    Great value for money!

    I made a reservation the day before and stayed at the accommodation. The welcome drinks included wine, soft drinks, nuts, and olives, which were plentiful. The room had a combination of a bed and futon in a Japanese-style area, providing comfort. Dinner featured meat and fish served individually, with other dishes available in buffet style; it was delicious. However, I was surprised that roast beef was served for preschool children, as there were very few meal options specifically for them, which was disappointing. The onsen had an outdoor bath with strong sulfur content promising benefits, while the indoor bath was smaller but not an issue due to fewer users. I look forward to visiting again when traveling without children.

    Good accommodation

    This was my first time staying here. The facility seems old but is well-maintained, making it very comfortable. The bathroom and toilet areas felt new. Great points: ① The room is spacious and uncluttered, allowing for a wide-open feel. ② This price for this accommodation shows remarkable effort. ③ The staff maintained a perfect balance in their interactions. ④ The meals were very satisfying, especially at this price point.     I can't feel relaxed.

    This is a review of the Hotel I used during my trip. The lobby was very nice, and checking in and ordering meals via smartphone was convenient. However, as a trip to enjoy the Onsen, it felt more like an extension of business and was uncomfortable. Additionally, I was dissatisfied with the seating arrangement in the restaurant; particularly during breakfast when the morning sun was glaring. Drawing the curtains meant facing a wall while eating, which left me disappointed compared to previous visits.

    It was a visit on Fe...

    It was a visit on February 9th amidst snowy weather. The open-air bath was a milky white Onsen, and it was very warming and pleasant. However, the stairway to the large bath was extremely cold with just a yukata and haori due to the season. It would have been nice to have an announcement or notice recommending wearing warm clothing. It was unfortunate that my body, which had warmed up so nicely, got cold again before returning to the room.

    A bath accessible to boys of elementary school age and older.

    Not a recommended hotel. Especially not for women. In Tochigi Prefecture, the ordinance states that children over 7 years old cannot enter the bath of the opposite sex, but clearly, an elementary school child (at least around 3rd grade) was brought in by their mother. It was very unpleasant and made me feel bad. It was the worst stay. Recently, there has been a lot of discussion about what age boys should enter the men's bath, but isn't compliance with the law fundamental? It's common for there to be no staff in the bath area, but since you have to cross a corridor from the main building, it's particularly hard to monitor. Shouldn't there be a signboard listing the prohibitions? Personally, I would like them to promise compliance with the law at the time of reservation. The renovation and system introduction have led to staff reductions, and while the room is decent and the food is not worth complaining about, the bath issue alone is a minus 100 points. I would not recommend it to anyone, and I made sure to write a review so that no one else has to experience what I did.

    Relax and Unwind to Your Heart's Content!

    It was my first time using the service. I felt reassured by the courteous and attentive service at check-in. The view from the lounge in front of the lobby at an altitude of 850 meters was spectacular. The welcome drink with wine and snacks was also excellent. Especially, the open-air Onsen, which I was looking forward to, was a perfect Onsen experience, allowing me to warm up thoroughly. The curry and beef stew from the light meal room service for dinner were both very delicious. It didn't feel like a light meal, and I was very satisfied with the taste! I would like to repeat my visit. The leisurely stroll to Shikanoyu was also pleasant!

    Shika no Yu

    Thank you for your hospitality. Although the building and Facility are not brand new, they have been renovated, allowing for a comfortable stay with a homely touch. The Shika no Yu is indeed top-notch, and the view from the lounge was also pleasant. If possible, it would be nice to have water available at the changing area (on the side of the changing room) and to have a wider entrance and exit layout for the lounge. I look forward to visiting again.

    I found the staff to...

    I found the staff to be kind. However, what really concerned me was the security aspect of the final payment process at the front desk. I had to enter my credit information into a tablet, but the characters were not hidden and there was no privacy screen, making it completely visible from behind, which was very uncomfortable. I would appreciate it if more attention could be paid to the fact that personal information is being entered.

    My preferred Hotel

    I love onsens and travel around 2-3 times a month, and this has become my best in Nasu Yumoto Onsen. I visited without a two-month gap. This is my second time. It was a weekday, so there were few guests, and I could relax. Thank you very much. In the Nasu-Shiobara area, I have already stayed over 20 times in various places, especially in the Nasu area, in various hotels and properties. But my best is that if it's a weekday, staying alone is not expensive. Rather, at this level, I think it's quite cheap. I'm grateful. There are many properties that are cheap, but the building is solid and clean, the room is spacious and well-appointed. It's calm and not eccentric, which is nice. It's digitally advanced and smooth. There are many plans. Many properties focus on dinner, but I'm not interested in ordinary dishes, and personally, I don't need that, so I'm grateful for this. The bath is a bit small, but I rated it 5 because the onsen is Shika no Yu. The staff also have a good feeling and a good distance. There is a lounge, and the view is nice. Free drinks and snacks are also a delight. Personally, I'm satisfied if the onsen and bed are good. There is an onsen with good water quality and a comfortable bed. That's all. Of course, there are properties where I love the food, and I repeat stay there to enjoy the food. Considering my purpose and the price, I think they are doing their best to provide the above services at this price range, and I think it's wonderful. Oh, breakfast is also buffet style, but it's at a satisfying level. So, I would like to visit again from time to time. Thank you very much. I look forward to seeing you again.

    It was a standard plan, but it was not satisfying at all, and I felt like I could eat a bowl of ramen after the meal. The dish that left an impression was a small portion of steak. The number of dishes and the quantity were both small, and I felt that the price was not justified. I will not repeat. The quality of the onsen water was good. I usually visit Shikayu, but this time I was satisfied with the onsen at the property.

    Because of Shikanoyu

    I stayed after more than a decade due to the rebranding. It left a better impression than last time. Everything from check-in/out to ordering drinks is done through an app, which will likely become mainstream in the future, so there is no problem. The highlight here is definitely the open-air bath of Shika no Yu. Although it is circulated and filtered and seems to be blended with another hot spring source, the sulfur scent and cloudy water allow you to enjoy the onsen experience. Since it was a weekday, I was able to stay at a reasonable price for single use. It was a calm and lovely room. I visit Nasu frequently, so I would like to come again. Thank you very much.

    I don't think I'll be repeating my stay.

    We used it for the first time as a couple in mid-September. Both the interior and the guest rooms have been renovated and are very clean. Everything, including check-in, is systematic, so it might be good for people who don't want to talk much with the staff, but we felt it was somewhat impersonal. First, about the hot springs, the open-air bath is small, but the water is very nice. However, I was surprised at how small the changing room and washing area are. Considering the facility's capacity, they are too small. By the way, there are a maximum of 7 washing stations. If that number of people were to enter the open-air bath, you definitely couldn't relax. Half of the changing room is in front of the mirrors at the washbasin. It's completely visible. How is this acceptable...? Next, the meals. They are at a satisfactory level, but I can't say they are very satisfying. For this price, it could be a bit better. There is a refrigerator in the guest room, but there was no complimentary water or tea snacks at all. The amenities are minimal. However, the guest room was very clean and well-maintained, which was good.
