    A warm accommodation with comfortable tatami flooring.

    We gathered from various places to celebrate our elderly parent's birthday and stayed for one night. First, we relaxed together in the private bath while watching the clouds drift by. The specially prepared sparkling water was a delightful touch. The Onsen made us quite hungry, so we chose a small portion gourmet plan considering my mother, but it left us all fully satisfied. We were touched by the thoughtful celebration gesture from the accommodation, and the mulberry jam we purchased at the shop on our way home was delicious as well. During our stay, whether it was walking freely on the spacious tatami or feeling the warmth of the staff, there was always a cozy and pleasant atmosphere. Thank you very much!

    A cozy and compact accommodation

    I stayed for one night for the OMF concert. The accommodation was considerate of the concert schedule, allowing me to relax. Towels were provided in the bath, which was very convenient. If I had to mention something, the quality of the food could be improved, and it might feel better if the tatami mats were updated soon. Overall, it was a very pleasant accommodation.

    The entire facility is covered with tatami mats, creating a very pleasant atmosphere where I could relax and unwind. Although it was a Room with beds, the reclining bed was more comfortable than expected. The meals were also delicious. Thank you very much for your prompt response regarding my forgotten item.     Summer Vacation

    The staff provided excellent service and hospitality, allowing for a relaxing stay. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. However, the bath felt a bit cramped, and it was unfortunate that I couldn't fully relax due to overlapping busy times. Additionally, despite arriving as scheduled for breakfast, there seemed to be a shortage of staff serving meals, which caused some delays and felt slightly disappointing.

    A touch of May breeze in an urban Onsen accommodation

    There is an accommodation located on the main street of Asama Onsen. When you stop at the south-facing carport, staff will assist with your luggage and park your car. The young staff in uniform provide polite service. The interior of the building has been beautifully renovated, as have the rooms. The design and finish are high-quality. While tatami mats are laid throughout, some wear might be noticeable. From the windows, you can enjoy views of the onsen town and Matsumoto cityscape, though perspectives vary depending on the room. Room sizes also seem to differ slightly. The large bath feels a bit compact but may be sufficient considering guest capacity. It’s convenient as you can visit empty-handed. The private baths exude an authentic onsen atmosphere with deep and spacious tubs filled with plenty of hot water—excellent quality water indeed! An open-air rock bath is adjacent; however, older guests should take care as footing on the rocks can be tricky. While surrounded by high walls that limit visibility, the expansive sky above offers a refreshing view. The cuisine lives up to its reviews for being exquisite, with thoughtful and kind allergy accommodations provided.

    As expected.

    May 10, 2025 - First visit to Asama Onsen. I was very excited to come here. There were three parking spaces available in front of the entrance. The room had tatami flooring. I booked the "Delicious Small Portions! Casual Kaiseki Meal Plan" on IKYU.com. Since it mentioned "small portions," I thought I might need to find a nearby ramen shop if I got hungry, but the meal was so filling that it wasn’t necessary at all. The Shinano Premium Beef was tender and absolutely delicious. The Shinshu Pork Apple Sukiyaki Hot Pot even had apples in it—what a surprise! The Onsen experience was incredibly satisfying and helped me feel completely refreshed. For breakfast, the three-tiered serving containers were beautifully presented and adorable. The simmered red fish on the top tier was perfectly seasoned (100/100) and tasted amazing. To my surprise, there were apple and nozawana tempura as well—so unique! When leaving, they guided us while we pulled out our car and even saw us off until we turned onto the main road. Thank you so much!

    It was mediocre and unremarkable.

    I visited for the first time with my parents, who have stayed here multiple times before. I expected it to be an attractive accommodation, but the staff who greeted us upon arrival used language that was shockingly inappropriate, which caused stress. If it were a foreigner, it might be excused as charm, but they seemed to be Japanese. The guest room felt unclean with noticeable dust in various places. Additionally, there was no consideration for outlets to charge mobile phones or other devices, which was inconvenient. For dinner, the rice cooked in a pot finished too early; after we had already eaten the rice, tempura was brought out. Then we were asked if we wanted miso soup afterward. Is it so difficult to manage the timing of meals? We spent hours traveling one way and incurred costs to visit this place. If they could imagine how much effort that takes on our part, perhaps they would naturally look forward to welcoming guests more warmly—but maybe that's asking too much. Writing an unsatisfactory review after spending money and time on accommodation feels disheartening. I didn’t come here as a consultant for low-level accommodations. Lastly, when departing from the accommodation by rental car—a compact car rented from Matsumoto Station—it was parked at the farthest spot from the entrance. It seems that if you drive a Lexus or similar vehicle, your car will be prepared right at the front entrance instead. There appeared to be no intention of accommodating elderly guests with mobility issues by parking closer—this left me feeling disappointed as I departed from this place.

    Delicious meals that will leave you fully satisfied.

    I stayed for one night during Golden Week. I was looking forward to the meals, and they exceeded my expectations—both dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious. It would have been nice if the public bath had an open-air bath. The private bath was very satisfying, though it was a bit disappointing that I could only use it once. Next time, I’d love to plan a Multiple Night Stay!

    It was a retro Stays.

    The entire Property was almost entirely covered with tatami mats, so slippers were not needed, but I felt a little uncomfortable walking barefoot in the hallway. The Room was a spacious Japanese-style room, but it was disappointing that the view was not good. The attendant who guided us was not very friendly and lacked attentiveness, so we did not feel welcomed. The private bath felt like a bath in a guesthouse, lacking a special feeling, which was disappointing. The miso soup at the meal was delicious.

    Thank you for your hospitality yesterday.

    All businesses, not just ryokans, are determined by the satisfaction of their prices and services (such as the building's exterior and interior, customer service, cuisine, and location). The guidance until parking the car. The atmosphere of the property when entering the store. The smiling response of the staff. The quality and location of the private bath's water. The staff's response during meals (regarding this, there was a sense of amateur part-time work, but I want to say, what's wrong with that! It left a very good impression). Finally, after having a long conversation with the president, I thought I would like to visit this property many times again. Therefore, I am very satisfied with this price. I was troubled by the middle-aged women who were drunk and making loud noises until late at night, and I ended up complaining to the president. I apologize for that. The property cannot choose its guests, right? I am satisfied with all the responses. I am planning another trip to Kyushu and Shikoku at the end of the month, and I hope to have the opportunity to stay at a wonderful property like Bettei Ichihana. Next time, I would like to have a drink with the president and talk about the future of this property. Thank you very much.

    The bath was disappointing.

    Thank you for your hospitality. The only disappointment was that the bathroom was small and the bathtub was tiny. There were no open-air baths or saunas either. It might be a matter of preference, but the water temperature was high, so I couldn't soak in it for long. The food was very delicious.
