It lived up to its great reputation!
Although it is an older building, it is well cared for and kept very clean. Thank you very much to the proprietress and all the staff. If checkout were at 11:00, we could have had a more relaxed morning... We would love to stay again.

High quality and an indescribable sense of comfort
Before the cherry blossoms bloomed, we spent a relaxing time here as a family. The thoughtful, attentive service—clearly designed with “comfortable stays” in mind—adds up to an indescribably cozy atmosphere. At the same time, chatting with the proprietress felt reassuringly down-to-earth and friendly, never making guests feel they need to be overly considerate. And the cuisine was outstanding: unpretentious dishes, each carefully prepared, made for a wonderful time. We also found ourselves enjoying more and more of Fukushima’s sake, which has earned top rankings across The whole country. Located at the gateway to spacious Fukushima, it was a lovely Accommodation—just a little over an hour from Tokyo.

I’m glad I was able to visit again after two years.
Returning to Atamisou after two years, it felt so nostalgic to see the proprietress, the head chef, all the staff, and to enjoy the Onsen and our Room again. The Onsen we soaked in for the first time in a while left our skin silky smooth—ah, that familiar feeling—as we relaxed and took our time. The view from the Room was just as before: about ten ducks swimming in a line. This time, though, there was also a troublesome bird—maybe a heron? Or a cormorant?—spreading its wings wide and hogging the river all to itself... This is my favorite Room because you can spend hours simply watching the river. It’s truly wonderful. The proprietress, the head chef, the staff member who is great at origami, and even the new staff were all friendly and easy to talk with, which made for lively conversations and a very enjoyable stay. The flowers in the Room, the decor—everything showed such thoughtful attention to detail. Atamisou’s hospitality is still as warm as ever. I’m so glad. Thank you very much for your wonderful hospitality. We will be back again—thank you in advance for your continued kindness.

As others have written, this Accommodation offers truly heartfelt hospitality. I’ve stayed at various Accommodations and Hotels across the whole country, and without a doubt this was the best experience I’ve ever had. Honestly, I hesitated to write a Review because I didn’t want it to become too popular. However, I wanted to support the sincere dedication of the staff in any small way, so I’m leaving this Review. It’s a warm Accommodation that makes you feel that way.

We stayed here to celebrate.
This is a very hospitable Ryokan. It makes you feel warm and welcome. We visited to celebrate a family member’s 60th birthday, and it became a memorable trip. The Onsen is wonderful. The water quality is excellent, and the baths are spacious. The dining venues for breakfast and dinner were different, each with its own charm. The meals were filling and delicious (I’ll share some photos). The flowers casually displayed throughout the building were lovely. We enjoyed the view of the Iohgawa River from our Room. Above all, the proprietress was truly wonderful. It is not barrier-free, and there are stairs. Thank you for taking such good care of us.

The hospitality of e...
The hospitality of everyone, including the Okami-san, was wonderful, and I was impressed by how much they did for us. The room and the onsen were also well-cleaned, making for a pleasant stay. I would love to repeat my stay.

I was treated with great kindness.
The service is incredibly good. The Room does not have an Onsen bath, and there are many other Onsen Stays with more amazing large baths, but I was surprised by the service that surpasses them. I think the high rating here is largely due to the spirit of hospitality. The food doesn't feel like that of a very luxurious Property, it's somewhat simple, but you can feel the thoughtfulness, and it was delicious. It's a warm, such a Stays.

It was my first time in Bandai Atami. Entering the property felt like stepping into another world. The garden was well-maintained in its natural state, and I wanted to enjoy the onsen and cuisine while gazing at the seasonal views from here. From the warm welcome to the heartfelt farewell, it was a stay that evoked a sense of nostalgia. I thought this property would be the perfect gift for a blissful trip for my parents. I was truly moved by the careful selection of each ingredient in the cuisine, ensuring deliciousness. I was amazed at how delicious the water was, wondering if water could taste this good. I was simply impressed. I drank up the water in the large bath area and the room. It was my husband's birthday, which I hadn't mentioned, but perhaps they saw it in the register and showed their thoughtfulness. Thank you very much. The warmth of the shoes I wore at checkout kept the time and feelings of our stay warm for a while. I would like to visit again in the season of fresh greenery.

We stayed for my daughter's last birthday as a single woman. We love the hot springs of Bandai Atami and have stayed at various places, but it is difficult to get a reservation at Atami-so. However, we found availability through the IKYU site and were able to stay. The attention to detail by the proprietress and the staff was wonderful, and the food was extremely delicious. Each dish was carefully seasoned, and we were very satisfied. We were also touched by the birthday presents, letters, fruits, and desserts that were prepared. It became the best memory for us.

Everything is top-level.
The room, bedding, amenities, view, onsen, meals, and service were all the pinnacle of any Ryokan-style stays we've experienced. It became a wonderful memory of our wedding anniversary.

It was a heartfelt hospitality.
Stayed for one night in November 2024. In a word, it was an unexpectedly heartfelt hospitality. I was very satisfied with both the bath and the meals, but the most outstanding point was the wonderful hospitality of the hostess. Although our small child caused some inconvenience, the child is eager to visit again, so we are definitely considering a return visit.

This time too...
It was my first visit in almost a year. I was so excited before going that I couldn't help myself. The meals were excellent again this time! The head chef, the proprietress, and of course, everyone's hospitality was truly pleasant and just right, so the day ended in no time. I enjoyed the bath several times and had a relaxing time. I would love to visit again.
