    We stayed here for 2 nights and 3 days during the Golden Week holidays as a couple.

    It was a truly wonderful trip. The Room was spacious, and the tatami made it very relaxing. I’m deducting one point because the bath in the Room is not an Onsen, but the location was great and it was very pleasant to use. It was also fun to have a massage chair and a low-temperature sauna in the Room. The bedding was fluffy and very comfortable. I also enjoyed being able to choose a different yukata each day, and having samue in the Room was appreciated—since I could wear it inside the Room and when sleeping, my yukata didn’t get wrinkled or worn out. The staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome. The meals were brought at just the right timing. The private bath is clean. It was windy so we couldn’t stay long in the open-air bath, but even the indoor bath has beautiful views. The meals are seafood-only with no meat, but we were very satisfied. I was surprised that the first dish had a French-style presentation, yet it stayed interesting throughout and everything tasted excellent. The grilled fish was hearty as well—I felt happy to enjoy a whole fish for the first time in a while. The ocean-view location is wonderful, and exploring around the area is also enjoyable. Overall, we had a great time, and this is an Accommodation we would love to stay at again. Thank you very much for everything during our stay.

    The Room and view are excellent.

    Thanks to the upgrade, we stayed in a room with an excellent view and were very satisfied with the thoughtful amenities and welcome sweets. The view from the reservation-only private open-air bath was also stunning. Since we knew in advance that it was not an onsen, there was no disappointment. Dinner consisted entirely of seafood dishes, all of which were delicious. We were especially impressed by being served one grilled high-grade fish per person. On the other hand, breakfast was somewhat disappointing; while the seaweed hot pot was tasty, most of the other dishes seemed pre-prepared, and items like grilled fish and rolled omelets were served cold. Another disappointing point was regarding mineral water in our room. When we asked if additional bottles could be provided, we received a positive response and were asked how many we needed. This led us to believe they would be complimentary; however, at checkout, we found out they cost 150 yen per bottle. At accommodations of this price range, such additions are usually free or should at least be clarified as chargeable beforehand. The quality of the room itself was exceptionally high overall, leaving us highly satisfied with our stay as a whole.

    Accommodation offering delicious seafood from the Sanriku region.

    I stayed at this accommodation during my visit to the Sanriku area. The location is on a hill by the sea, offering stunning views. Both the room's private bath and the reserved bath provide amazing scenery. The meals, both dinner and breakfast, were highly satisfying, allowing me to fully enjoy the seafood of Sanriku. As it is a small accommodation, the staff's service was exceptionally attentive, making my stay pleasant from arrival to departure. Accommodations are relatively scarce around Miyako, but this place offers high quality and comes highly recommended with confidence. I would love to visit again in a different season.

    The meals are not very satisfying.

    I stayed at the accommodation during my trip to Sanriku. The room was "Zekkei Jiro 3rd Floor," and while the view wasn't exactly breathtaking, I was able to enjoy the Sanriku sea. The open-air bath was reasonably sized with a decent view, but I think it would be better to block the line of sight from the parking lot of the park on the opposite side a bit more. Although it’s not an onsen, which is fine, there was an issue with the heating function turning off at night. By morning, it had turned into cold water, and draining it and refilling with hot water took quite some time. A circulating water heater system might be a better option. Dinner consisted of Western-style dishes; however, there were many repeated uses of similar ingredients, and the seasoning felt outdated—like French cuisine from decades ago? Considering this location, I found it hard to understand why they insisted on Western-style cuisine. On the other hand, breakfast featured Japanese dishes that were commendable in quality; perhaps sticking to Japanese cuisine would be a better choice overall? The facility's cleanliness was well-maintained throughout, and there were no complaints about staff service. As one of Sanriku Coast's rare luxury ryokans, I hope they continue striving for improvement!

    The hospitality was excellent.

    The staff were all kind and made the Hotel feel very homey. The cuisine, both French and Japanese, was absolutely delicious. The video of the earthquake taken from the old Hotel exceeded all expectations.

    Delicious meals!

    Dinner was a delightful fusion of French and Japanese cuisine, featuring the fresh seafood of Sanriku. The room was upgraded to the top floor, offering a stunning ocean view, which made our stay truly satisfying. Although it was slightly disappointing that the bath was not an Onsen, the open-air bath in the room had microbubbles, providing silky and pleasant water.

    Sanouiwa Rock

    Having a famous spot within the national park right in front of you is amazing. The Room has no steps at all and feels like new. I will gladly travel 270 kilometers to stay here again.

    Four Impressions

    Impressed by the room, the view, the cuisine, and the hospitality. Located right above Sanno-iwa in a national park, this accommodation made me never want to leave. The location is also excellent, being close to famous spots like Ryusendo Cave, Kitayamazaki Cliffs, and Unosu Cliff.

    Heartfelt hospitality that touches your heart! A place you'd want to visit again!

    We chose this accommodation for a trip celebrating various occasions: our belated wedding anniversary, my successful surgery and recovery, and both of our birthdays. This accommodation offers open-air baths in every room, allowing us to enjoy the bath without worrying about time—one of the highlights of our stay. Although we were aware of the private baths available, we initially did not plan to use them. However, during check-in, we were encouraged to select a time for the private bath as part of their service. The suggestion felt slightly insistent. The chosen time turned out to be quite cold; while soaking in the bath was warm enough, walking back to the changing area left us chilled. We ended up returning immediately to our room's bath—a somewhat mixed experience overall. One thing that exceeded expectations was the meal experience—it was truly satisfying beyond words! For dinner, each dish was explained by staff members with care and detail, leaving a lasting impression on us. Additionally, as part of celebrating both our birthdays together as a couple, they surprised us with an extra dessert plate alongside dessert—a delightful touch! Breakfast featured wakame shabu-shabu—a local specialty—which made for an exceptional start to our morning. After checkout, staff members saw us off all the way to our car and even waved until it disappeared from view—an act that deeply conveyed their hospitality. This trip took place in spring; however, my spouse and I are already discussing returning during summer or autumn for another stay at this wonderful accommodation!

    Accommodation with a Great View

    The property was relocated after the Great East Japan Earthquake and is situated on a hill, offering an excellent view from the Room. It is conveniently located near a tourist attraction within walking distance, which was great. The Room was very spacious—almost too spacious. The view from the bath was also nice, but the strong wind made it feel overly drafty at times. The food was good; however, it felt like our progress during meals might have been monitored through a small window. Overall, while it was enjoyable, I wouldn't say it offered the best value for money.

    Highly recommended. All accommodations were excellent.

    Stayed at the accommodation during a trip on the Sanriku Railway. The entire accommodation was very clean and well-maintained, the room was spacious and comfortable, and the surrounding walking trails were wonderful. The private bath on the top floor offered breathtaking views of the Sanriku Coast. The staff's hospitality was warm, and above all, the meals were exceptional. Honestly, since it is in a rural area like Taro, I didn’t have high expectations, but with excellent ingredients and carefully crafted dishes, I was thoroughly satisfied. This is an accommodation that won’t disappoint—highly recommended for a visit!

    I was able to relax.

    The room was very clean, and the large windows offered a stunning view of the Pacific Ocean. The seafood dishes made with local ingredients were all incredibly delicious. The staff were very friendly, making our stay pleasant and comfortable. One downside was that the private open-air bath in the room and the public bath were not Onsen, and the open-air bath in the public bathing area was unavailable. We would love to stay here again if we have another opportunity!

    It was a very memorable stay.

    It is difficult to write in detail, but I am very grateful for the various assistance provided by everyone at the Property. Thank you very much. Due to train cancellations, we were forced to take a detour and arrived about two hours later than planned, but we were kindly picked up at the station and they were considerate of our meal times. The meal was abundant with seafood and used plenty of high-quality ingredients, making it very delicious. Part of the dinner menu had a French cuisine style, and thanks to the chef's excellent cooking skills, it was extremely tasty. We couldn't finish all the rice on site so they made rice balls for us; when we ate them later, they were also exquisite. Although not an Onsen, the Room's bath was warmed to an appropriate temperature before our arrival so that we could use it immediately before dinner; this was helpful. In many ways, I felt touched by everyone's thoughtfulness at Stays (soon-to-be Property). With magnificent views of the Pacific Ocean as well as being a healing stay overall—regarding amenities including baths—I am satisfied with my Room experience too; thank you for upgrading us. During our ride from station pick-up back towards Stays (soon-to-be Property), passing through areas still bearing scars from East Japan Earthquake left quite an impression on me especially when hearing stories related shared by perhaps its owner? Particularly learning how once located near sea remnants remain showing damage reminding us never forget what happened there reaffirmed within myself again today! Departure day assistance appreciated greatly too—hope visit again someday soon!

    Amazingly exceeded expectations

    I stayed for one night during my trip on the Sanriku Railway. The hotel, a relic of the earthquake, has been revived as a small, quiet inn on a hill. I doubt anyone would come to this inn to make noise, but except for the check-in time when guests arrive at the same time, I didn't even feel the presence of other people. On the day, I was delighted to be upgraded to the third floor of the Tenbo building, which has an outstanding view. The seafood from Sanriku and the local beef dishes served in a private room were surprisingly sophisticated for such a rural inn, and I was continuously amazed. I found this inn by chance on the internet, but I definitely want to use it again and stay for multiple nights. I hope they continue to do their best in the future.
