    We had a very comfortable stay.

    Although the facilities felt a bit dated, the breakfast was excellent, everything was clean, and I was able to relax. The Hotel staff were very pleasant, and I would like to stay again. I wish there had been a shower cap among the amenities.

    Cherry blossoms in full bloom

    There is a row of cherry blossom trees along the small river in front of the Hotel, and we were able to see them in full bloom. They were very beautiful. The Hotel was clean and there were no issues, but it feels more dated than newer Business Hotels. That may be unavoidable. Still, I wish at least the unit bath had been renovated, and that the ventilation fan were stronger. That was disappointing. The breakfast buffet was delicious. I toasted and ate the sliced bread labeled “Hotel Bread,” and it was very good. The fried eggs were also nicely plated, and I was satisfied. I hope renovations to the facilities will continue without losing New Otani’s sense of quality. All of the staff were kind, which was great. Thank you for your hospitality.

    As expected from Hotel New Otani, it was a wonderful stay.

    We stayed for two nights. We made several special requests regarding the Room, and the staff kindly accommodated all of them, allowing us to enjoy a comfortable stay.

    I had a very quiet and peaceful stay.

    I usually choose accommodations where I can specify a top-floor room, as I once had trouble sleeping due to noise from upstairs at another hotel. This accommodation offered a top-floor plan, which turned out to be an "Anniversary Plan." Although I didn't realize it initially, the staff kindly prepared roses in the room, so we decided to celebrate our wedding anniversary one month late. While we couldn't take the roses with us during our trip, we thoroughly enjoyed them while staying in the room. Thank you very much. The staff were all very kind, and the room was exceptionally clean and quiet, allowing us to relax peacefully. Although there were some slightly concerning reviews beforehand, we experienced no issues or dissatisfaction. Breakfast did not have an extensive variety of options; however, we were guided to a spacious private area where we could enjoy it leisurely without any disturbances. Perhaps because it was a weekday and there weren't many guests staying at that time, the buffet area was never crowded—this was also great. If I have another opportunity to visit Nagaoka again, I would love to stay here. Thank you very much!

    A prestigious local Hotel

    Stayed in a high-floor double room on the 3rd (Friday) with my wife and our 2.5-year-old son. Last time, when our son was an infant, we borrowed a baby crib, but this time we used the bed. Since there were no bed guards available, we all slept together in one line, which was a bit challenging due to different sleeping times. It would have been better if we could have booked a slightly larger room, but options seem limited. As a prestigious local hotel that also hosts weddings, it does feel somewhat dated for bearing the New Otani name. Given that there isn’t much draw for tourists or business travelers aside from fireworks events, large-scale renovations might be difficult—though this may not be solely an issue of the hotel itself. The nearby shopping mall has decent foot traffic, but the area around the station feels somewhat quiet. That said, at this point in time, if staying in Nagaoka again, I believe your accommodation would still be my choice. Lastly, breakfast was delicious! While those preferring Western-style meals might find it slightly lacking, I enjoyed the freshly harvested rice and side dishes that complemented it well.

    Stay in a calm and relaxing atmosphere. Enjoy a buffet breakfast where you can choose your favorites. The station is accessible via a covered rotary, allowing you to reach it without getting wet. Souvenirs can also be conveniently purchased at the station building.

    The Hotel is conveniently connected to nearby restaurants, making it a safe choice even on rainy days. The Hotel features an impressive display of Nagaoka fireworks shells. The breakfast buffet included local dishes, which was delightful. There were no amenities provided, possibly as part of eco-friendly practices.

    Close to the station with excellent service

    I stayed at the accommodation to watch a women's professional golf tournament. Since I traveled by private car, I didn't notice it at first, but being located right in front of Nagaoka Station where the Shinkansen stops, I found it very convenient. The hotel staff were very polite and left a great impression. While the hotel's exterior showed its age, the interior was clean, and the room seemed to have been renovated with new and user-friendly facilities. This time I stayed without meals, but next time I would like to try breakfast during my stay. Thank you very much!

    Overall satisfied.

    Stayed for 2 nights from May 3rd during Golden Week. Despite the busy season and near full occupancy, there were few stressful moments. However, nothing particularly outstanding stood out either. The tableware and amenities seemed of good quality, but that doesn't necessarily equate to comfort. During the stay, I passed through the main entrance multiple times to retrieve items from my car or go shopping, but each time I was directed to check-in as if it was my first arrival—this gave an impression that staff weren't paying attention to guests' faces despite their attentiveness. If it weren’t Golden Week pricing, this would be a 5-star experience.

    The hotel has an older feel but is kept clean, and the breakfast was proper and delicious. The coin laundry has a lock, ensuring security and peace of mind. The price is reasonable, and I would like to stay at this Hotel again.

    It is a good Hotel.

    There is a New Otani in Nagaoka, which makes me want to visit. This is my second time, and the view is great. Although the hotel is old, the Room has been beautifully renovated and is very comfortable. The bed, towels, and amenities are of high quality and satisfying. The breakfast was truly delicious. The staff's service was pleasant and reassuring.

    Almost adjacent to Nagaoka Station, with easy access to the station, Aore Nagaoka, and the dining district via covered walkways, making it very convenient without worrying about the weather. The facility is old, but the atmosphere is comfortable and reassuring. There are no steps between the bathroom and the room. Please note that the room key system is an old system (basically one physical key). I would like to use it as my regular Stays in Nagaoka City.

    How is the cleaning done?

    I was surprised. After entering the room and unpacking for a while, I noticed something black in the corner... It was a woman's sock. Just to be sure, I checked with my wife, but of course, it was someone else's sock. It made everything feel unclean. This was my first experience of something like this, and I was completely shocked.

    I was able to stay without any issues.

    I stayed overnight after taking care of some business in Nagaoka City. When I saw the previous guest's forgotten item (food) in the refrigerator, I was momentarily surprised, but a staff member quickly came and handled it with care, including disinfection, which was good. The room was quite standard. The bathroom was well-cleaned, which was nice. The breakfast buffet had a wide variety and was delicious. The female staff members all responded politely.

    The location is great, but the facility is outdated. The service is also disappointing.

    The location from Nagaoka Station is excellent. You can get there without getting wet. However, the guest rooms are old and everything is deteriorating. Additionally, the service is disappointing. The person in charge of handling luggage is very attentive, and when the receptionist is on the phone and there is a line, they notice and speak to you or assist you. However, the front desk staff, who are the face of the hotel, are disappointing. (When I stood at the front desk, I was left waiting while they handled a phone call, and then they acted as if nothing had happened. The luggage staff noticed this and proactively engaged with me.) I arrived at 12:00, knowing that check-in was not possible, so I said, "Please just hold my luggage and handle the check-in," to which they waved their hand and replied, "No, no." I hadn't even mentioned wanting to enter the room, so I found their response to a guest inappropriate. When I said, "I just want to write my name and check in," they replied, "That's fine." I didn't feel a shred of hospitality in their response. When asked, "What time will you be back?" I answered, "After 21:00," and received the surprising response, "You can enter the room at that time." It's incomprehensible since check-in is possible from 15:00. As others have noted, the front desk staff's response is very poor. At this point, I considered canceling even if it meant a loss, but since the luggage staff was good, I decided to proceed. I want to believe that only a very small number of staff have poor responses, but according to reviews, that doesn't seem to be the case. Also, some rooms require you to ensure the door is properly closed, as it may remain open otherwise, so you need to confirm it is securely shut. The restaurant offers only standard items, and apart from the curry and rice, I didn't find it satisfactory.

    I had a pleasant stay in a clean room. I went to see the Katakai fireworks. Next time, I would like to see the Nagaoka fireworks as well. Thank you very much.

    A calm and pleasant atmosphere hotel

    This was my first time using this facility. As mentioned in other reviews, the staff were very courteous, making my stay very pleasant. The facilities are old, but they are well-cleaned and have a sense of cleanliness. I would be happy if there were amenities like women's skincare products. The breakfast was also delicious. I would definitely like to use it again when I visit Nagaoka. Thank you very much.

    The food is good, but...

    The taste of the Japanese restaurant is wonderful, and the breakfast buffet is not bad. However, the room facilities are old, dark, and gloomy. Except for the breakfast buffet staff, the front desk and bell staff lack smiles and do not convey a willingness to provide service. There seems to be no attitude of actively engaging with guests.

    The damper on the ro...

    The damper on the room door seemed to be malfunctioning, causing it to hit the wall when opened, and requiring me to pull the doorknob completely to close it. As a result, the door was sometimes slightly ajar when I entered the room. Additionally, possibly due to the design of the bathtub's drainage system, the shower water did not drain completely, leaving a puddle at my feet while the water was running.
