    As expected of a Hotel Japan can be proud of.

    Everything was very good in every respect. It was my first time staying at this Hotel, so I was a bit unsure at times, but the staff responded with a smile even when I asked questions again. For first-time guests arriving by train, it’s much easier to come from Akasaka-mitsuke Station. From Yotsuya Station, the uphill walk is quite steep.

    It’s wonderful to find such a large garden in the heart of Tokyo. I was able to forget about everyday life and truly relax. There were so many international guests that it almost felt like being abroad. The staff were also very kind, and I had a very pleasant stay. Thank you very much.

    At the request of my two young elementary-school-aged grandsons, we stayed at this Hotel for the night pool. We had planned to use the pool only in the evening, but we arrived around noon and were told that we could use it even before check-in. The pool is a perfect size for keeping an eye on children—you can sit in a chair and still watch them easily. There were also plenty of chairs in the shade. Their favorite was the diving board; they jumped in feet-first again and again. After taking a short break in our Room, we went back to the night pool. Surprisingly, it was much more crowded than during the day—perhaps about 70% were young women. The pool was beautifully lit up. The building does feel dated, and because the Hotel is so large, getting around was a bit tiring. We also bought Pierre Hermé cookies as souvenirs—the gift bag is very cute.

    My Favorite Hotel

    My uncle and aunt’s favorite Hotel Thank you very much for taking such great care of us. Once again, our stay was fun, comfortable, and absolutely wonderful. Thank you for accommodating our Room request. Every time… we get excited. All the staff… As always, everyone was kind and pleasant, with truly thoughtful attention to detail. It makes us so happy. They walked from Yotsuya… and when they arrived hot and tired, you offered them water. They were deeply touched by your kindness. The entire Hotel is spotless and beautiful, with a spacious layout, and the Japanese garden is so relaxing. We also enjoy walking around the property every time. The Room was clean and comfortable, and we were able to unwind at ease. Thank you very much. We would love to come again.

    Japanese Hotel hospitality

    Our trip to Okinawa was canceled due to a typhoon, so we changed our destination at the last minute. Since my son had been looking forward to swimming in Okinawa, we searched for a Hotel with a pool and stayed here, and it was wonderful. There was a cypress bath with lemons floating in it, and the Room was lovely, with views of Tokyo Tower and a Japanese garden. All of the staff were very kind and attentive—I truly felt this is a long-established Japanese Hotel. This time it was just my son and me, but next time I would love to stay again with my family. Thank you very much.

    Stay at Executive House Zen

    I had been wanting to stay here for a long time, so my wish finally came true. A few days before my stay, I called the Hotel directly to ask about parking because I have chronic foot pain and wanted to minimize the walking distance. The staff member kindly offered several suggestions, and when I arrived, they had secured a parking space near the second-floor drop-off area, which was a great help. In the evening there was a sudden torrential downpour, and at 2:00 a.m. there was an earthquake, so it was an unusual stay, but overall I was satisfied. It was the smallest Room on the Zen floor (45 m²), but it didn’t feel cramped at all and I stayed comfortably.

    As it had been a long time since my last stay, I was worried I wouldn’t remember the layout and routes, but that concern proved completely unfounded. It felt as though every staff member shares a strong sense of pride in the Hotel New Otani brand. Everything was elegant, kind, and full of thoughtful care. The Japanese spirit and the custom of valuing good old traditions were evident throughout. This is a wonderful Hotel where all of that is embodied in every aspect. My companion was delighted with the Room assigned to us, as we also received thoughtful gifts and enjoyed a truly high-quality stay. You provided us with an unparalleled location and opportunity. Even in the email correspondence for my inquiry this time, there was meticulous consideration, and I was deeply impressed by your hospitality. I have nothing but gratitude for Mr./Ms. T. Thank you very much. I will definitely return.

    It was my first stay...

    It was my first stay in a while. The guest room and the service were just as excellent as before. I have a few points I noticed, but please take them as personal impressions. The club lounge felt small for the number of rooms, and the area where food and drinks are set out also seemed cramped. The food and drinks were all delicious and satisfying, but I was disappointed that the champagne was not the Hotel’s original label. Since other Hotel lounges also serve the same brand, it may be unavoidable due to rising prices or sourcing difficulties; however, I feel that offering an original champagne is important for maintaining the Hotel’s brand.

    We thoroughly enjoyed a unique, out-of-the-ordinary experience.

    With the wonderful hospitality that Hotel New Otani Tokyo is known for, we enjoyed a comfortable stay from check-in to check-out and were able to relax and savor a special getaway. At dinner, the staff were also considerate toward our grandchild, and with the pool and beautiful Japanese garden as well, it became a memorable and delightful day.

    It was a Hotel.

    The building may feel a bit old, but it has a perfect sense of retro charm and history, making it wonderfully comfortable. With its cleanliness, the strong professionalism of every staff member, and their thoughtful hospitality, it was an outstanding Hotel. I honestly feel I missed out by not staying here sooner. Thank you for the exceptional value and satisfaction—it exceeded my expectations for the first time in a while.

    A Comfortable Day

    The Room with separate bath and toilet was spacious and comfortable. The staff were also excellent in their service. Breakfast at SATSUKI was delicious overall, but it was disappointing that Pierre’s yogurt was sold out and I couldn’t try it. The pool was not crowded, perhaps because it was a weekday, so we were able to relax comfortably. However, some guests kept the rental float rings for themselves, so I think it would be better to have a notice asking guests to return them when not in use.

    Thank you for your hospitality the other day. As it was my birthday month, I had been looking forward to staying at a Hotel I’d wanted to use for some time. The Room on the 35th floor was wonderful, with a great view of Tokyo Skytree right in front of us, and the female porter’s service was excellent. However, I was surprised by the male trainee who delivered our room service: from the moment he entered, he seemed unable to come in smoothly, and when pouring soup from the pot he spilled it on the cup and wiped it with a napkin without saying anything. There was no apology or explanation for using an item that should have been for guests. Since the phone service when ordering room service was outstanding, this left me a little disappointed. Also, when going to the Japanese garden we used the stairs and passed several staff members, but there were no nods or greetings in particular. On a positive note, I enjoyed details such as single roses placed in vases along parts of the guest-room corridor and being able to fully experience the glamorous atmosphere unique to a long-established Hotel—an extraordinary escape from everyday life.

    We made wonderful summer memories.

    I stayed in a reasonably priced suite Room with my four grandchildren, including elementary and junior high school students. The weather was great, so we were able to use the pool, and the kids were thrilled. Not only the Room, but the Hotel itself is very spacious—I felt like I finally got a sense of it on my third visit. We bought cakes at SATSUKI to take home.

    I had high expectations, but…

    This was my first stay. As it is considered one of the top three Hotels, I paid attention to my appearance when visiting; however, I was a bit surprised to see some guests in casual attire (shorts and T-shirts) at the Garden Lounge and SATSUKI. As for service, it felt well trained overall, but the hospitality from mid-level and veteran staff came across as quite businesslike and somewhat curt. The younger staff and international staff left a much better impression. The food was excellent no matter what I tried—truly impressive. Although the Facility has been renovated, signs of age could be felt in various places. Everything was well maintained, so it never felt unpleasant. Perhaps because I booked an affordable standard Room, I honestly found myself thinking, “Is this all?” Next time, I plan to try a slightly higher-priced Room.

    Golden Pool!

    Guests can use the garden pool free of charge. When we requested a bed guard, it was arranged fairly quickly. The amenities we had requested in advance were also prepared. In addition, when the footlight wasn’t working, it was fixed for us. The Room is more spacious than a typical business hotel room. This time, the view from our Room wasn’t great. If a good view is important to you, please note that it may vary depending on the Room, so consider this carefully. The Facility feels somewhat dated, and the bathroom and toilet are combined in a typical business-hotel style. The air conditioning was an older type with a dial to set High/Middle/Low rather than a temperature setting. In one of the two Rooms, the cooling didn’t work very well and it felt a bit warm… Also, part of the chair’s surface was peeling, which made it feel worn. As this was a connecting Room setup with mats placed between the two doors, please be aware there is a step/level difference. We had sushi via in-room dining; it was delicious, and we appreciated that miso soup and tea were included. Patisserie Satsuki is also located in the main building area, and charges can be billed to your Room.

    Architecture to be preserved forever

    I hope this distinctive architecture will be preserved for many years to come. When I asked the woman near the front desk on the 2nd floor to check me in at Zen, she said, “I’ll show you as you are,” and kindly carried my luggage. At the club lounge, everyone welcomed us with warm smiles. There was an excellent selection of drinks, including Yamazaki and Hakushu. I alternated with soft drinks so I wouldn’t overdo it, and also enjoyed some champagne. Even though I’m not a fan of sweets, the chocolate cake I tried was rich and delicious. The Room was an open, airy space filled with a lovely fragrance. The bath filled quickly, and I enjoyed soaking in it many times during my stay. The hospitality was outstanding—I truly felt cared for and completely relaxed. For breakfast, we chose Nadaman instead of a buffet. The calm atmosphere and beautiful view were wonderful, and the portion size was just right for a senior couple. After strolling through the garden, we were able to enjoy another delicious salad in the lounge—something we could do because we didn’t get overly full from a buffet. With so many Hotels in Tokyo being rebuilt these days, all I can do is hope this classic building will be kept just as it is.

    I stayed with the Ji...

    I stayed with the Jingu Gaien Fireworks Viewing Plan. The fireworks went off right in front of us, with nothing blocking the view, which was great. I chose No Meals Included and picked up takeout side dishes for the fireworks at the scheduled time, but they were cold, which was disappointing. I wish they had still been at least a little warm. As for the Room and amenities, since I stayed at Zen over New Year’s, I couldn’t help comparing them, so I rated it 4.

    It was my first time...

    It was my first time using the lounge, and the food was excellent as expected. I felt completely satisfied, both physically and mentally. Above all, the bed on the Zen floor was perfect for me, making my stay at the Hotel even more enjoyable. The bottled amenities in the Room were also easy to use.     We had a wonderful summer vacation!

    I stayed for one night in July. The location is convenient for exploring the Akasaka area and nearby sights such as the National Diet Building. In summer, there is a pool that you can enjoy both during the day and at night. I chose the breakfast option with a great view and was able to relax, though it was a bit disappointing that there were no made-to-order items prepared on the spot. Overall, I was satisfied. If you are too busy to travel to a resort, this Hotel is a great place to enjoy a summer vacation in Tokyo.

    Wonderful!

    We stayed here for the “first round” of my wife’s birthday celebration. In fact, this was my first time staying here in more than thirty years—since I had the opportunity, as one of the student representatives, to take part in a “dialogue” here during a visit to Japan by the president of a former superpower that no longer exists. With those memories, I felt both nostalgia and excitement, but also a quiet worry about whether choosing this long-established Hotel—amid so many dazzling new Hotels—was truly the right decision. In conclusion, Executive Floor “Zen” exceeded expectations. Not only was the service excellent, but even on the facilities side—which I had been concerned about—the Room had been thoroughly renovated: clean, elegant, and perfectly sized (neither too large nor too small), making it completely stress-free. My wife (and I as well) couldn’t praise it enough. Security was also impressive: not only is elevator access controlled, but there is an additional gate to enter each floor’s aisle area as well. Personally, that extra layer of security is a major plus. The Executive Lounge food presentation was especially refreshing. Not only could we enjoy an exceptional six separate offerings—something rarely seen even at other luxury Hotels—but the ingredient quality was outstanding and there was minimal repetition between sessions, so we never got bored. To be honest, it reminded both of us of something we’d forgotten on recent stays elsewhere—even though this is how luxury Hotels (especially those positioned above this one) should ideally be. For breakfast, based on staff recommendations we chose SATSUKI instead of the lounge—and it was excellent as well. The quality, variety, and flavors were all top-tier; there were truly so many options. I sincerely wish other Hotels would learn from this. One more point on facilities: dedicated parking for “Zen” guests is secured, and staff kindly guided us all the way to our assigned space—another subtle but appreciated touch. Considering it isn’t valet parking, it feels like a deliberate effort to differentiate their service. If I were to mention just one area for improvement on the facilities side: the air conditioning felt somewhat weak. As I wasn’t feeling my best this time around, I avoided alcohol and ended up skipping the spa I had been looking forward to—but even so my wife was delighted and our stay left me highly satisfied. It reaffirmed that there are good reasons why long-established Hotels continue to thrive in this day and age. Next time, we hope to return with our whole family.

    The Simplest Breakfast

    Overall, it was decent, but the breakfast the next morning was terrible. Charging 6,900 yen including the Service Fee for that is unbelievable—I’d call it “the weakest (worst value) breakfast,” in honor of Satsuki. People often say “like a Business Hotel” in situations like this, but that would be disrespectful to Business Hotels that work hard to meet guests’ needs on tight budgets. I’m speechless.

    We stayed here as part of a company award trip, and once again chose the reliable Hotel New Otani for our Accommodation. A birthday cake was placed in the Room, which delighted our employees and made it a wonderful memory.

    The pool was also incredibly fun!

    Our family stayed for one night and enjoyed the pool for two days. It has been one of our family’s summer traditions since before COVID. We have always felt the hospitality here is wonderful, but this year it felt even better than usual—from check-in, to the pool and breakfast, all the way through check-out. My wife agrees. It’s hard to put into words what made it so special, but if I had to say, it was the warm and kind aura of the staff. We would love to visit again next year.

    For meals, we enjoyed soba noodles for lunch and sushi for dinner. The service was attentive without being intrusive, and everything was delicious—we had a truly relaxing and fulfilling time. The children especially loved the pool. Next time, I’d like to bring my swimsuit and join them.

    We stayed on the Executive House Zen floor to celebrate a friend’s birthday. From our Room, we could see Tokyo Tower and the Japanese garden, and the night view was wonderful. All of the food presentations were delicious, and I ended up eating so much that I never felt hungry during our stay. I was also happy that they made a cocktail to match my request even though I could only describe it in vague terms. I hadn’t mentioned in advance that it was for a birthday, but when I brought it up in conversation, they gifted us a bottle of sparkling wine. I was truly touched by their thoughtfulness, and my friend was very happy as well. It was so comfortable that we ended up spending a long time in the lounge. This was my second time staying at Zen, and I would love to stay again regardless of any special occasion. If you’re planning to stay at Hotel New Otani, I highly recommend staying at Executive House Zen. Thank you very much.

    First-class hospitality and excellent Facilities.

    I stayed on a No Meals Included Plan that included access to the garden pool and a JPY 5,000 coupon per person. I heard the pool could be used even before check-in time, so I arrived around 1:00 PM, and was told, “Your Room is ready, so please go to your Room first.” It felt like a lucky break, but the guidance was so natural and welcoming that it left a great impression. The escort to the Room and the explanation of in-room Facility were also thorough and very helpful. The garden pool was not crowded and very relaxing. I had shaved ice at the adjacent restaurant and spent two elegant hours there. Since it was hot outside, we had dinner inside the Hotel, and we were able to use the coupon to good advantage (even so, food and drinks in the Hotel are a bit pricey). After dinner, we took a walk through the illuminated Japanese garden and captured some memorable photos. For breakfast, we enjoyed a leisurely buffet at the Garden Lounge while looking out over the Japanese garden, which let us fully experience what makes New Otani special. The guest room layout was convenient and the amenities were excellent. Even though it was just one night, I truly relaxed. I would like to stay again.

    We stayed here to celebrate my mother’s 80th birthday. The front desk staff prepared a message card and sweets, which made her very happy. Thank you so much for your thoughtful kindness. We also ordered a cake via room service, and the staff member who delivered it was incredibly kind as well—thank you. Thanks to everyone, we had a wonderful stay. We’re already talking about coming back together again.
