    Pets are allowed...

    This time again, I booked my favorite room with a private open-air bath. The all-inclusive plan was great, and the food was excellent… But is this Accommodation pet-friendly?! And there was even a dog barking right in front of the designated restaurant for meals… What? It wasn’t mentioned anywhere in the room description… I don’t choose pet-friendly Accommodations in the first place. I’m sorry to those who cherish their pets, but is it really hygienically acceptable to bring them right in front of the restaurant? I was shocked, because this had been one of my favorite Accommodations. I won’t be able to go again…

    Grand Oceans

    We stayed at Grand Oceans for two nights. Overall we were satisfied, but there were a few things that concerned us. Grand Oceans has its own entrance/exit and a dedicated front desk, but when we arrived there was no one there, so we had to call to have someone come. I think satisfaction would improve if staff were always present at least around check-in time. Also, since we had to carry our own luggage, it would be nice if Hotel staff could escort Grand Oceans guests to the Room and help with luggage. At night there was an air-rifle shooting activity that our child joined. At the time, a staff member was taking photos (of everyone), and I wondered what they were for. Later we found out they were posted in the main building with a note saying guests could take them freely. We did the activity on the first night, and on the second day we went out. Because we left through the dedicated Grand Oceans entrance/exit, we didn’t stop by the front desk area of the main building and didn’t notice. When we noticed during checkout on day three and asked whether photos from the previous day were available, we were told they weren’t. That was disappointing—we would have liked those photos since everyone looked great. I wish you had told us they would be posted the next day. About breakfast: We stayed two nights, but the breakfast buffet was exactly the same both mornings (maybe I just didn’t notice, but about 90% seemed identical; everyone in our group also said it was completely unchanged). I would have liked a bit more variety. The lobby was hot. The air conditioning wasn’t working well; our child was sweating a lot, and so were we as parents watching. I’ve mentioned what stood out to me, but overall as a family with children we were satisfied. Shimabara is far away for us, but we’d like to visit again.

    The Room was spacious and comfortable. The bath was also great. As for the meals, I was hoping for more delicious local fish, so I was a bit disappointed. Although it was a set course, several dishes were already laid out at the beginning; I would have preferred them to be served one by one. I also hope the selection of alcoholic drinks can be improved.

    Relaxing Stay

    Due to a change of plans, I made a Reservation the day before. It was a rainy day and I arrived early, but I was able to choose a book from the many available and enjoy reading at a relaxed pace with a cup of coffee in hand. The spacious bath, especially the bubble bath, was very soothing. The meals were so plentiful that I couldn’t finish everything. The sunrise the next morning was beautiful. There were also goats and rabbits, and if it were closer, it’s a place where I’d love to bring my dog for a Multiple Night Stay.

    Dinner

    Breakfast is a standard buffet, but dinner—especially the sashimi—was not fresh despite the Hotel being close to the sea. Also, although the ingredients were not bad, the flavor was underwhelming. The staff service was fine. The Hotel felt unsettled and not very relaxing. It may be suitable for younger guests, but it does not seem ideal for older guests.

    The on-site services are excellent, but the welcome upon arrival was disappointing.

    There are thoughtful touches throughout the Accommodation to keep children entertained, and the many massage chairs inside were very relaxing. There was also a wide selection of alcoholic drinks and juices at mealtimes, and the complimentary ice cream and beverages during Onsen visits were excellent, making this a highly satisfying stay overall. The front desk and dining staff were courteous, and we felt comfortable throughout our time here. On the other hand, it was disappointing that although it was raining when we arrived, the staff did not guide our car and were chatting instead, which resulted in our luggage getting wet. Overall, it was a very satisfying stay, and we would like to return if we have another opportunity.

    Multiple Night Stays are recommended.

    The bookshelf in the Hotel lobby and the complimentary drinks were truly exciting, and I could easily spend as much time there as I wanted if I had more time. For dinner, we chose the BBQ, and there was plenty of both meat and seafood. I couldn’t finish the grilled rice balls and left some, but overall I was very satisfied. The staff during the meal were also kind. In the bath area, you can choose your shampoo and there is also a drink bar. The hair dryers and irons were ReFa, so this area was enjoyable as well. At night, we watched movies in our Room, and the stay flew by. I think this is a Hotel you can enjoy even more to the fullest with a Multiple Night Stay. Just one thing: it would be easier to grill if the BBQ grill were a bit larger.

    Excellent.

    Six years ago, we also enjoyed a relaxing stay as three generations. This time again, we were very satisfied to meet dolphins together as three generations. The open-air bath in the Room was wonderful, and we thoroughly enjoyed every meal.

    It was a good accommodation.

    The accommodation focuses on expanding services for families with children, which may explain the high number of guests with kids. For those who prefer privacy, we recommend the family bath as some older children were seen in the women's bath. Our group of three adults found the atmosphere lively. The staff is well-trained and attentive, quickly noticing small details and providing thoughtful service. The meals were satisfying considering the accommodation cost. If anything, we would have liked a bit more sashimi! For breakfast, it would have been nice to see more seafood options like grilled fish. Overall, breakfast was quite standard.

    Lost and Found

    The moment I entered the lobby, I felt excited as it resembled a stylish bookstore. The private bath was wonderful, allowing me to relax while listening to my favorite music with the ocean nearby. Additionally, my husband forgot a T-shirt gifted by our son, and though we almost gave up on retrieving it, the staff responded kindly to our inquiry and even sent it back to our home.

    Hospitality that inspires.

    From check-in to check-out, everything was pleasant. I feel this is a Hotel that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. I stayed for one night with my toy poodle, and it was the best Hotel experience I've ever had. If I had to mention something, the dinner (in a private room) was slightly too large in portion.

    A dog-friendly accommodation!!

    A very dog-friendly accommodation. The facility was well-equipped with a dog run and pool, allowing us to relax and enjoy our time with our beloved pet. Shared spaces were accessible as long as the dog was in a stroller, and it was delightful to enjoy the reading area and free drinks together. However, each facility had unexpected time restrictions, which made it difficult to manage our schedule effectively—something we regret. Next time, we plan to organize better for maximum enjoyment! One improvement point would be the ability to adjust the temperature of the onsen on the guest room terrace directly. Overall, it was a highly satisfying and enjoyable stay. We definitely look forward to visiting again with our dog!

    Lacks a sense of luxury

    Our whole family thoroughly enjoyed it.

    The hospitality was excellent, and the meals were delicious. We traveled with a toddler, but Disney videos were playing throughout the dining area, so my grandchild stayed calm and enjoyed the meal. Unfortunately, we couldn't enjoy outdoor activities like the pool due to heavy rain. We look forward to visiting again!

    A beautiful smile

    The staff's smiles were wonderful, and their service was excellent. The food was filling and delicious. The Room was clean, and the bath was very relaxing. The drink bar and games were also a delightful touch.

    So far, no Hotel in Kyushu surpasses this one.

    We stayed as a family of four, including a couple and two young elementary school children. This year alone, we've stayed here about four times. From our first visit, we were impressed by the exceptional attention to detail in every aspect. The Onsen, sauna, and views are all amazing, and every time we come here as a family, we feel truly relaxed. This time, we chose the sushi Plan with in-room dining for our meal. It was our first time trying this Plan, but it was so good that we'd definitely choose it again. The sushi was delicious and came with additional dishes like chawanmushi (steamed egg custard), salad, fried chicken, etc., making it more than enough to eat. There were plenty of drinks available too—both alcoholic beverages and juices—so much so that we didn’t even need to visit the drink bar in the lobby. Being able to dine in the Room allowed us to enjoy leftovers leisurely into the night without needing to move around much since there were ample drinks provided as well. It made for an incredibly comfortable stay! This is highly recommended for those who prefer spending their time relaxing in their Room. It's also great for students or those looking to enjoy a party-like atmosphere at their own pace without worrying about others around them while enjoying high-quality sushi. Despite its quality offerings compared to other Plans available here—it’s surprisingly affordable! Truly an excellent value-for-money option. For families with small children or groups of friends traveling together—including students—I wholeheartedly recommend this Hotel. We always look forward eagerly to our next visit!

    Annual tradition

    I have stayed at Grand Oceans every year, but this year was a bit disappointing. The staff's service was far from what it used to be, and the meals were questionable. Perhaps it's due to rising costs, but the food lacked flavor, and the selection of drinks in the elevator hall had decreased. I was looking forward to this year's stay as well, but it was unfortunate. This is purely my impression based on the accommodation fee.

    A Perfect Day

    It was a fantastic day. I stayed with my beloved dog, and it was great to have private rooms for meals in the morning and evening, as well as a private dog run. Near the front desk, there was a drink bar offering unlimited beer, highballs, and other alcoholic beverages, along with free snacks like nuts and sweets. Above all, the attentiveness and greetings from the hotel staff were excellent, making my stay very pleasant. I would love to visit again!

    As soon as you enter...

    As soon as you enter the lobby, you'll find an impressive selection of books and magazines, along with draft beer, highballs, and other alcoholic beverages from self-serve dispensers. Plus, there are nuts, chocolates, and even ice cream—all unlimited! It was truly surprising. The view from the room was excellent, and soaking in the outdoor bubble bath while gazing at the ocean was absolutely amazing. During dinner, free-flow drinks included everything from beer to authentic Japanese sake and shochu—a paradise for alcohol lovers. When I mentioned to the front desk staff that I needed to go to Shimabara Port on my way back, they kindly checked the ferry schedule for me and even suggested a shuttle service. They also showed photos on their personal phone to explain recommended souvenirs in detail—I really appreciated their help. This is an accommodation I would highly recommend to friends who enjoy good drinks!

    About Our Hospitality

    The staff, including those at the front desk and the pick-up service, were all exceptionally kind and professional. I was impressed by the unlimited welcome drinks (including alcoholic options) and the extensive bookshelf that felt like a library. Additionally, the bath changing area was fully equipped with curling dryers and hair irons, providing every convenience. I would love to stay here again and bring my grandchildren next time!

    I couldn't believe they went this far.

    The service exceeded all expectations, offering an exceptional experience! The welcome highball (laughs), snacks, and ice bar were delightful. If you're traveling with children, they will surely be thrilled. The room's facility included an ultra-large 4K TV with crystal-clear quality and unlimited movies to enjoy. There was also a cute goat, and we had the chance to feed it—a fun experience! As an Onsen enthusiast, I found the Onsen slightly underwhelming; however, the bubble bath in the room was excellent. Overall, I was extremely satisfied and would love to visit again!

    The Grand Oceans

    I stayed at Grand Oceans for the first time. In conclusion, I was extremely satisfied and plan to stay again. The large public bath and sauna were well-equipped, with a drink server in the bathroom that made me lose track of time while enjoying myself. The private open-air bath in the room offered great views, allowing me to fully enjoy an extraordinary experience. When visiting an onsen ryokan, my children often get bored, but here they were delighted as the room had a game console and there were plenty of places to read manga or play. The elevator hall featured drink options like beer servers and ice cream, which could be enjoyed anytime during our stay—this was very convenient. This time, we used Grand Oceans' exclusive parking lot, private check-in counter, and private rooms for dinner and breakfast, making our stay quiet and comfortable without any disturbances. The meals exceeded expectations, and the service struck a perfect balance between attentiveness and giving us space—making it very pleasant overall. While many regions face staff shortages these days, I was impressed by their efforts to enhance customer satisfaction through creative use of self-service systems or robots—it left a lasting impression on me.

    Fun Stays

    You can feel the various efforts made to entertain guests. It's nice to relax with a drink in the lounge and read a book, but after dinner, they brought out various games, and my spouse and I had a great time playing Pac-Man and basketball games for the first time in a while. There are plenty of activities for small children to enjoy, and the all-you-can-drink selection is rich with options you don't often see, so those who enjoy drinking will also have a good time. However, I felt that the meals did not benefit from being near the sea. Nevertheless, the property and the room were very clean, and overall, it was a good stay.

    It was a wonderful Hotel.

    We visited from Hokkaido for our first family trip since the children became working adults. On the floor, we didn't encounter other guests and enjoyed drinks and snacks. We relaxed in the room with a massage chair, a large bed, a sofa, and an open-air bath. The dinner was very delicious, and the Nagasaki beef shabu-shabu was excellent. We enjoyed sake with the free drinks. For breakfast, my daughter and I had a Japanese set meal, and it was nice that each of the four family members was accommodated. My son seemed to like the sauna and entered it four times during our stay. It became a memorable experience for our family at this wonderful property. Thank you very much.

    Satisfied.

    I used it for the first time during the long holiday. I stayed in a room with a jacuzzi bath for five people, and watching the sunrise while in the bath was the best. Of course, the price was a big splurge, but I gained more peace than the price. If I have the chance, I would like to stay again, including weekdays.
