    Wonderful!

    It was my first time dining on a riverside platform, and I was truly impressed. Even at night, it was much more comfortable than the heat in the city—perhaps thanks to the surrounding greenery and the river. Since it’s by the river, I worried about insect bites, but there were none, which was a relief. I’d love to visit again during the autumn foliage season. The only disappointment was the large public bath. The women’s bath could fit four people, but the men’s bath could only fit two, so my husband said he had to soak quickly and get out in a hurry. If it were a bit larger, everything would have been perfect!

    Because it was close...

    Because it was close to Jingo-ji Temple, I stayed here for the first time. I really appreciated being picked up at Uzumasa Tenjingawa Station, and all of the staff were kind and courteous. The meals were also delicious. (Dinner and breakfast included) However, the Room felt old, with several disappointing points: the washroom floor creaked, the bathroom door was cracked, the three-sided mirror in the Room felt eerie and scary, and I could hear toilet noises and conversations from the neighboring Room. Perhaps due to the season, there were stink bugs present, so I think it would be good to take some measures against them.

    Dream in red surrounded by the crimson mountains.

    Autumn leaves at their peak. Despite the traffic on the opposite lane, we smoothly arrived at the accommodation nestled deep in the mountains. The parking lot in front of this mountain-side accommodation is a bit small compared to the number of guests, but you can unload your luggage at the entrance, and staff will take care of organizing it for you. The three-story building is well-maintained and clean, though there are some signs of age here and there. Some rooms may have weak WiFi connectivity. There is no elevator, which might be challenging for guests with mobility issues; however, staff are happy to assist with carrying luggage. Their attentiveness is kind and thoughtful. The small open-air bath offers a stunning view of autumn foliage. The room's private bath is surprisingly small and retro but has a nostalgic charm to it. Meals are served in a dining hall with great views during both breakfast and dinner—deliciously balanced Kyoto-style cuisine. After enjoying breathtaking scenery during your stay, you can head home while watching cars stuck in traffic on their way up—a unique advantage of staying amidst peak autumn foliage season!

    The staff's service was excellent.

    The building is old, so there are only stairs and some steps, but it was cleaned nicely. It would have been nice if there were handrails on the stairs. Also, I was a bit flustered as the lock on the toilet in the Room was hard to open. All the staff were very accommodating. The food was also very delicious. The scenery was wonderful, and I think it would have been perfect if the autumn leaves had been a little more colorful. I was able to relax very much, and it was a great trip.
