    Unbeatable value and top-notch service!

When I mentioned in advance that we would be staying to celebrate a birthday, they prepared balloons and a congratulatory message in our Room, which truly moved us. They also kindly offered complimentary use of the private bath, so we were able to enjoy a very relaxing bathing time. We were also happy to receive a dessert plate at dinner. For the children, there was a fireworks set, a cute amenities set, gifts for answering quiz questions, and festival-style activities such as target shooting and string-pulling games. There was also self-serve shaved ice where you could adjust the portion size yourself, which was great. At the pool, there were free self-serve rentals of float rings and water guns as well, so we had a lot of fun. There was so much to enjoy that our child was absolutely delighted. We chose the breakfast and dinner buffet options. At dinner there was a live kitchen with hand-rolled sushi and steak (I think), and everything was very delicious. The value for money felt unbelievably good. We went right when service started, so it was probably mostly Japanese guests at first and only moderately busy; however, it gradually became more crowded as more international guests arrived. I think going earlier is more comfortable. The sea bream and tuna sushi were outstanding, and there were also sashimi offerings separately—since we are a family that loves seafood, we really appreciated it. If I had to mention areas for improvement: There was dust under the beds in our Room. Our child playfully reached under the bed and came out covered in dust, which was disappointing. Also (though this may be unavoidable due to the layout), the pool is not connected directly to the large public bath area; you have to move through indoor corridors within the building. After using the pool you need to change clothes before heading to the public bath area, which felt inconvenient—especially for families with children who likely want to bathe after swimming. Because coin laundry is free (and perhaps due to seasonal demand), there can be long waits. A notice said that if someone’s laundry cycle has finished, other guests may move it into a basket—but guests who hadn’t read it seemed startled that someone had moved their items without permission. I understood because I saw the notice myself, but it still didn’t feel great; I wondered if there might be another solution. Since it’s summer and free of charge—and everyone wants to use it—it may simply be inevitable. Overall, we were very satisfied. The value for money was so good that it almost made me wonder if everything was really okay! Thank you very much!

    Thank you very much ...

Thank you very much for taking care of us during our stay. The large public bath, the private bath, and the meals were all wonderful. Thank you as well for accommodating our allergies. About 20 years ago, we visited with our family on a day trip and used the jungle-themed bath. Now that our children are fully independent, this time it was just the two of us as a couple. The atmosphere of the baths has completely changed, but it still felt somehow nostalgic. In our Room, the thicker curtain did not slide properly, and there was a part we could not close before going to bed. It was also a little disappointing that the toilet and washbasin area felt quite old. Even so, everything—including seeing us off at departure—was excellent, and we would definitely like to stay again. Thank you very much.

    It was a classic Hotel.

We stayed here at the end of a Shikoku trip with my daughter’s family across three generations. We chose it with no prior knowledge, but it turned out to be a truly wonderful Hotel. The staff were very attentive, and we had a comfortable stay. We had three infants/toddlers with us for Child Sharing Existing Bedding, and they provided chairs and helpful items, which we really appreciated. Their anniversary arrangements were also excellent. The sea bream shabu-shabu was delicious. I love classic Hotels and have stayed in places like Yokohama, Hakone, and Izu; this is a magnificent building that is beautifully maintained, and I was deeply impressed. I’m glad we were able to stay this time. Next time, I would love to visit the annex as well. Thank you very much.

    A Special Day

We stayed in a Japanese-Western style Room with an open-air bath to relax my parents and celebrate my sister’s birthday. When booking, I also informed the Hotel that my parents have knee pain. The Hotel is very spacious, and it’s quite a walk to the dining venue, but the staff were incredibly considerate. Thanks to their support, my parents were able to spend their time safely, comfortably, and with peace of mind, for which we are truly grateful. As part of the birthday celebration, we were able to use a private open-air Onsen bath, and we also received a birthday dessert plate at dinner. The family photo we took with the plate and balloons has become one of our most treasured memories. We enjoyed the Onsen not only in our Room’s open-air bath but elsewhere as well—it felt wonderfully luxurious. The water is sulfur-based, but the scent isn’t strong at all, so it didn’t bother us. It left our skin smooth and silky—so much so that I wished I could use it every day. For dinner we chose sukiyaki and thoroughly enjoyed it—the Iyo beef and eggs from chickens raised on mandarins were especially delicious. The only downside was that there was so much food that we couldn’t finish it. The view from the large window in the Room is also highly recommended. In such a quiet setting, being surrounded by trees and a river was truly soothing. I’m sure the seasonal changes would be beautiful as well—we’d love to stay again during the autumn foliage season. Our comfortable stay was possible thanks to all of your wonderful staff. In our family memories from this trip, your team is included as well. From the bottom of my heart, I’m glad we chose this Hotel. Thank you very much.

It was a great Onsen accommodation.

The baths were excellent. Not only were there several different types of tubs with varying water qualities in a spacious open-air area with great views, but there was even an outdoor sauna, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Meals were buffet-style for both breakfast and dinner, and both the variety and taste of the food were flawless. The Room we stayed in was also spacious and comfortable. As a smoker, I was worried after learning in advance that there is only one smoking area in the large building, but it wasn’t just a simple booth—it was a luxurious, comfortable smoking room like a spacious lounge with sofas and tables by large windows with a great view. The only major downside was that a large group of Chinese guests who arrived on two big tour buses were very loud when talking in the dining area and hallways.

It was a memorable anniversary trip.

When making a Reservation, there was a section to indicate the purpose of the trip (such as an anniversary). We stated that it was an anniversary trip, and the staff provided thoughtful service. Thank you very much. We also didn’t know there was a complimentary private open-air bath service, so it was a wonderful surprise. The private open-air bath is located by the river, and you can look down at the river from above. Depending on the season, I imagine the scenery would be beautiful. The bar also had a great atmosphere, and the whiskey was excellent. As for Wi-Fi, there was no Hotel-specific network and we had to use free Wi-Fi, which made us slightly concerned about security.

The food and bath were excellent!

On the morning of our stay, my wife suddenly decided to take our two children to Ehime Children's Castle, so we urgently searched for accommodation near Dogo and found this place. It was our first time in Oku-Dogo, and we were curious about what it would be like, but it turned out to be amazing. First of all, the food was delicious. I live in Kagawa, and there are very few places in Kagawa that can offer a buffet of this quality, so I was impressed. The curry was especially tasty, and even our 2-year-old child asked for seconds. The room had an older feel but the futon bedding was comfortable for sleeping. The open-air bath was not crowded and enjoyable; however, the water pressure from the shower was weak, making it difficult to wash my hair before entering. Additionally, since it’s wintertime, taking a shower felt cold and uncomfortable. While I can imagine why the water pressure might have been reduced as someone who enjoys traveling myself—sometimes you need to invest more for better guest satisfaction—I would appreciate if adjustments could be made unless there is an overwhelming reason not to do so. The staff's hospitality and service were excellent as well. Considering the price point, I thought it offered great value for money overall. Personally speaking, just for the food alone it's worth revisiting!

    Anniversary Trip

We received a confirmation call in advance to check if it was a special occasion, and they prepared a message plate for us. They also took a commemorative photo. The staff's service was polite and pleasant. The quality of the Onsen water was excellent and very enjoyable. However, since the building is old, there were no outlets by the bedside, and moving from the indoor bath to the open-air bath was slightly inconvenient, which deducts one star from our rating.

It was a very relaxing accommodation.

Weekday 1-night stay The front desk and staff provided very polite service. The meals were buffet-style with a wide variety of options, and everything was delicious. The Room's facilities felt slightly dated but were clean and comfortable. Live piano performances in the evening were truly wonderful. The bath was also excellent.

    A great Onsen Hotel.

Even without a car, there is a hotel bus from Dogo Onsen Station. Enjoy excellent alkaline sulfur onsen, dinner with sushi and sashimi, breakfast with Japanese and Western options, a quiet tatami room, piano performances, and special birthday celebrations for an unforgettable experience.

The building is slightly old but has a nostalgic charm.

The food was delicious, and the guest room offered a stunning view. It seemed that the dining entrance was separated for foreign group guests, which made everything smooth. The indoor bath was located one floor up, which made it a bit hard to find. Overall, it was a great experience.

    Anniversary Trip

Although the reservation was made just a week in advance, we received a phone call the day before our stay and were offered various special services. The building is slightly old, but it is an impressively large hotel. All baths are natural hot springs with several creatively designed open-air baths, allowing us to fully enjoy the onsen experience. Additionally, there was a massage chair in the room, which helped us relax after bathing. Both dinner and breakfast were buffet-style with a wide variety of dishes that we thoroughly enjoyed. As part of an anniversary special, we were treated to tai shabu hot pot, beautifully decorated anniversary desserts, and a commemorative photo. Another bonus was complimentary use of a private open-air bath where we could enjoy some quiet time as a couple. It turned out to be an incredibly satisfying anniversary trip!

    I want to visit again!

We stayed at the accommodation on our 25th wedding anniversary. Upon arriving at the parking lot, we were warmly welcomed by the staff. During check-in, they provided a very friendly and detailed explanation, making us feel that choosing this accommodation was the right decision. Since we had informed them in advance that it was a trip to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary, they offered special services such as a private open-air bath and dessert during meals, which made us very happy. Additionally, they took a photo of us as a couple with the dessert and presented it in a beautiful frame when we checked out! Both dinner and breakfast had an abundant variety of dishes. The steak for dinner and omelet for breakfast were cooked right in front of us so we could enjoy them hot and fresh—absolutely satisfying. However, one thing that bothered me was the mold around the shower area in the private open-air bath. Also, while I believe water was prepared for us in the pot, there was only ice left with hardly any water remaining—this was disappointing. That said, when I used the large open-air bath on the following morning, it had various types of baths including a sauna with great views—it felt amazing! My husband also praised everything highly and said he thoroughly enjoyed his stay. We would love to visit again if given another opportunity. Thank you so much to everyone for celebrating this special occasion with us!

    Celebration of the 77th Birthday

We celebrated my uncle's 77th birthday with a delightful small portion Kaiseki meal. Given his age, he cannot eat much, so the "quality over quantity" concept was greatly appreciated. However, the delicious food and sake were so enjoyable that we ended up drinking a lot and leaving some rice at the end—our apologies for that. Every dish was truly exquisite. While younger guests might find the portions small, it was just right for us and easy to enjoy. Thank you for preparing the celebratory red vest and cap for his special occasion. He was surprised but seemed so happy that he didn’t want to take them off! The commemorative photo made it an unforgettable day for all of us. The attendant who guided us showed exceptional hospitality, and our entire family is deeply grateful to have been taken care of by such a thoughtful person. The private open-air bath in our room was incredibly relaxing, leaving our skin smooth and refreshed. Although the facility is spacious enough to feel like one could get lost, we enjoyed exploring places like the 4th-floor Yunoyama Library, Okudogo History Museum, Lounge & Whiskey Museum—all filled with rare treasures not often seen in this era. Traveling from Aichi Prefecture meant quite a distance; however, this wonderful accommodation is definitely somewhere we’d love to visit again on another special occasion!

Thank you for the wonderful time.

We were warmly welcomed upon arrival, which was delightful. We headed straight to the bath, and there were so many types of open-air baths that we felt like we didn’t have enough time to try them all. The natural surroundings made the experience even more wonderful. Dinner was a buffet with a focus on Japanese cuisine, offering a wide variety of delicious dishes that we thoroughly enjoyed. We also ordered parfaits, but by the end, we were completely full! The Hotel itself is very spacious and exploring it was fun in itself. At night, there was a piano performance which added to the fulfilling experience—thank you for such an enjoyable stay. After checking out, we appreciated the bubble service as we left the Hotel. We look forward to visiting again if given another opportunity!

The bath and meals were excellent. The Facility is old but well-maintained, and the Room was spacious and comfortable. The view from the large glass windows was breathtaking. While many Hotels end their in-house events around 8 PM, it was great to enjoy live piano performances past 9 PM, showing consideration for those dining later in the evening.

    Wonderful Hospitality

It was a wonderful stay. The onsen was not crowded, allowing us to relax and enjoy it fully. The meals were delicious, and the room had large windows that provided a great sense of openness. The hospitality of the staff was excellent, making our time very enjoyable. The only issue was that the mattress coils felt uncomfortable while sleeping, which made it difficult to sleep soundly. Replacing the mattress or adding a thick pad on top might make it more comfortable for guests. While I understand staff may not usually lie down on the beds, testing them for comfort could be helpful. The service, onsen, and meals were excellent overall; if measures are taken regarding the bed, I would definitely love to visit again!

    A long Ryokan

The baths are numerous and not crowded, making it relaxing. The washing areas are designed for privacy, which was appreciated. However, the baths are located far away. Despite promoting plastic reduction, toothbrushes, shower caps, and razors were provided on-site even though I brought my own. There is only one power outlet next to the bed. The bathroom is small. Breakfast is delicious in my opinion, but the staff's service during breakfast was poor. Both coffee machines had issues, leading to long lines that made me give up on getting coffee. Considering the price, perhaps these inconveniences can be overlooked?

    Recovery Celebration

We stayed at the accommodation to celebrate my husband's recovery. As part of the celebration, we were offered a private bath service, allowing us to relax and enjoy it fully. The room was spacious, and the baths were large with many varieties, which was wonderful. The meals were delicious, and the plan included drink tickets for the bar lounge as well as facility use vouchers, making it more than worth the price. I would love to stay here again. It was an accommodation with excellent service!

Ishizuchi Kaiseki and Onsen are excellent.

First trip to Ehime, we took the Shuttle Service from Dogo Onsen Station to Ichiyu no Mori. The bus driver and front desk staff were very polite and accommodating. We reserved a Japanese-style Room on the valley side, which was spacious with two connected rooms. The view of the forest outside the window was stunning, and I imagine it would be breathtaking during autumn foliage season. The Facility is not new, but the walls and tatami in the Room have been renovated and are clean. Housekeeping was thorough as well. Although there was some dirt on the windows, it wasn’t bothersome while enjoying the scenery outside. The Onsen had many indoor baths and open-air baths; though they were quite far from our Room, we enjoyed them multiple times during our stay. For dinner, we chose the Ishizuchi Kaiseki course meal. Guided by friendly staff to a charming dining area overlooking a garden, we had an absolutely delicious meal that made for an unforgettable experience. The hospitality of our attendant was exceptional as well; receiving commemorative photos and letters added a special touch—thank you so much! One downside was that the departure time for the return Shuttle Service coincided with check-out at 10:00 AM, making things feel rushed when considering bath time starting at 6:00 AM along with breakfast hours—it would have been nice to relax more in the morning before leaving. That aside, this trip became truly memorable for us! We hope to visit again during autumn foliage season with friends next time!

We stayed at the accommodation to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. The service and hospitality exceeded the cost of our stay in every way, leaving both my wife and me completely satisfied. The staff's attentiveness, the comfort of the room and bath with their stunning views, as well as the live music event at night, all made for an incredibly wonderful experience. We are truly grateful.
