    Highly recommended.

We stayed in the Kozu Room. The Room was spacious and comfortable. Although the facilities are mostly shared with Kowakien, they are clearly separated in various ways, which was great. The meals were delicious and more than we could finish. All the staff were courteous, and we had a wonderful time. This is an Accommodation I can recommend.

    Fujita Kanko Hospitality

It was an Accommodation where we could feel thoughtful, understated care. They read the atmosphere and created a mood that lifted our spirits—it reminded me of service that exceeded expectations, like what I experienced at Four Seasons Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo during an off-site meeting more than 20 years ago. It was a very windy day, but the open-air bath in our Room was completely sheltered from the wind. We enjoyed a long, relaxing soak while being soothed by birdsong, including Japanese bush warblers and black kites. The Room, relocated from a traditional old house, was spotless and let us feel the passage of time within the building. My mother in her 80s felt nostalgic, while my daughter in her 20s seemed to enjoy the extraordinary experience. Thank you for your warm hospitality. Thank you very much.

I was very satisfied. This was my first stay, and the Room was quiet and spacious, so I could relax. The meals were delicious, especially the hot pot made with Saikyo miso. I travel from time to time, but it’s rare for the head chef to come and greet guests in person, and I could really feel their passion for the cuisine. I would love to visit again.

    Used for our wedding anniversary.

Thank you very much for taking such good care of us. The Room had a traditional farmhouse style, and the tatami room felt relaxing—like coming back to my family home in the countryside. The staff’s hospitality and service were impeccable. I also appreciated the thoughtful touches, such as nail clippers and bandages provided in the Room. Both the indoor bath and open-air bath were Onsen, so I could enjoy them as many times as I liked without hesitation, and I was very satisfied. However, considering the size of the Room, the toilet and washbasin area felt a bit small. All of the meals were delicious, and thank you for accommodating ingredients I don’t like by offering alternatives. In particular, the whole simmered splendid alfonsino was excellent. If I have another opportunity, I would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

An Accommodation where you can relax, with a private open-air bath in your room and satisfying cuisine

We were very satisfied with both the cuisine and the guest room, and had a highly enjoyable stay. In particular, the open-air bath in the room felt private, allowing us to relax and enjoy the Onsen at our own pace—it was a wonderful experience. The meals were also carefully prepared, and overall everything met our expectations. One request: it would be more convenient if the available hours for the Shuttle Service could be extended, or if there were dedicated time slots for guests of Ryokuyu. Also, since the reception counter is shared between Kowakien and Ryokuyu, having a separate check-in flow for Ryokuyu (if possible) would make for an even calmer stay. Overall, this is an Accommodation we were extremely satisfied with, and we would love to stay again if we have the opportunity.

An accommodation that provides pleasant service.

We enjoyed our monthly onsen trip as a couple at this accommodation. Although we only booked the stay with breakfast since we had dinner outside, it was very satisfying. Breakfast included a small-sized kinmedai shabu-shabu and dried fish, along with delicious rice cooked in an earthen pot. The shabu-shabu broth was so tasty that I thought it might have been nice to make ochazuke with it! The private open-air bath attached to the room was very relaxing, and we used it both in the morning and evening. Please note that there is no shower in the private open-air bath, so if you need one, it's better to use the public bath. When leaving, the staff kindly took photos for us, which made us feel very cared for. Thank you so much!

    This was my second s...

This was my second stay, but I was disappointed as the quality and volume of the meals had declined compared to before. Specifically, despite being in Ito, there were no standout seafood dishes, and the rice cooked in the clay pot was soggy to the point that it wouldn't fall into the bowl when scooped with a rice paddle. Many dishes lacked flavor and depth from dashi. The portions were small, so meal times ended quickly. The amenities remained excellent as before. Women's amenities were particularly well-stocked with Mikimoto cosmetics and patterned tabi socks. The room had an illy coffee machine, and drinks in the refrigerator were complimentary—perfect for relaxing without leaving your room. The highlight of this accommodation is undoubtedly being able to enjoy unlimited onsen baths at any time without worrying about schedules.

    Highly Satisfied!

We had the pleasure of staying here after unexpectedly getting time off and securing a reservation. It was our first stay, but the room was impeccably clean, and the accommodation staff were very polite, making our stay extremely pleasant. The room had a private garden onsen, which we enjoyed multiple times. We also used the public bath, which was equally wonderful. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious; however, we regret not being able to finish the clay pot rice. We would love to stay here again in the future. Thank you very much!

    A Comfortable Place

The building is old, but I felt it was very clean. At night, there were creaking sounds that were a bit scary. The food was all delicious and plentiful; unfortunately, I couldn't eat the rice dumpling provided as a late-night snack. The open-air bath in the room had adjustable temperature, allowing for a slightly lukewarm soak that was very relaxing. I appreciated the free drinks in the refrigerator, the abundance of manga available in the lobby, and the photo service provided. All staff members were polite and kind. I would love to visit again!

The service is excellent, but the food is disappointing.

I visited this accommodation to enjoy the onsen in Ito. The room is slightly old-fashioned but well-cleaned and comfortable. The presence of a Yogibo made it easy to relax. However, I requested a chair seating for in-room dining due to knee issues, but only high chairs were provided, and the table height remained unchanged. This resulted in deducting one star. The service was excellent with polite and prompt responses, including swift shuttle service. The hospitality was truly outstanding. The open-air bath had a great sense of openness and was wonderful. All the water from the faucet was onsen water, which could be adjusted to a hot temperature—very satisfying. Since there is no washing area at the open-air bath, body washing needs to be done at the large public bath, which was also spacious and comfortable. The private open-air bath attached to the room has no roof; it might be problematic if it rains. Fortunately, we had good weather this time, making it an absolutely delightful experience deserving five stars. Now about the meals—the appetizers were neither good nor bad and lacked finesse from preparation onwards—a bad sign from the start. The sashimi was decent enough; however, for dishes like lobster hot pot where pre-cooked lobster pieces are served alongside for reheating within broth—it turned out dry with an unpleasant muddy taste—not enjoyable! For main courses such as fillet steak—it came overly salty & overcooked while grilled golden-eye snapper felt similarly oversalted too much quantity (one whole fish shared between two people). Suggestions include splitting portions differently e.g., half simmered dish versus shabu-shabu-style alternative presentation instead perhaps? On positive notes though rice cooked via clay-pot method tasted deliciously satisfying overall yet meal quality fell short expectations given price-point ¥35k/night accommodations should deliver better culinary expertise emphasizing skillful techniques rather than relying solely premium ingredients alone ideally speaking! Thank you very much!

    Thank you for your patronage.

At first, when I was shown to the Room, I thought it was an old-fashioned Ryokan. However, the staff in charge of the Room had a wonderful smile and clearly explained the dishes to us. The large public bath had an abundance of flowing hot water, which felt luxurious. On our way out, they kindly took a photo for us. I look forward to visiting again and meeting such lovely smiling staff. Thank you very much!

Among the various accommodations I have visited, I was so satisfied with this one in Ito. The room had a traditional Japanese house style, but above all, the spaciousness including the open-air bath and the quality of the hot spring water were excellent. It had been a while since I could relax and rejuvenate like this. Due to the season, there were bees, lizards, and mosquitoes around, but mosquito coils were provided, allowing me to enjoy a natural seasonal atmosphere. This is an accommodation I would love to visit again. The staff provided very pleasant service as well. I felt motivated to work hard again starting tomorrow. Thank you very much!

    Detached Room

Check-out is at 11:00 AM, and we enjoyed a relaxing time in the indoor bath and Facility. Thank you very much. The in-room dining service was also excellent with attentive care.

    Room with Open-Air B...

Room with Open-Air Bath: Room: Overall good, but the toilet is small, the washroom is narrow, and the indoor bath in the room is old and cramped—would be better without it. Open-Air Bath in Room: Excellent. Meals: Perfect in both quality and quantity. The staff's attentiveness and service were excellent.

    The Onsen was wonderful.

As an annex of Kowakien, it was no surprise, but when I called for a pick-up from Ito Station, they answered with "This is Kowakien," which surprised me for a moment. The front desk is shared, and there was nothing particularly special about it. The main building's large public bath was spacious and relaxing, but the Room's private open-air bath, though small, allowed us to enjoy the garden view while bathing and was very pleasant. For meals, we enjoyed nearby teppanyaki; the kids love meat, and it was delicious as well. There were some confusing aspects here and there—some discrepancies between explanations from the room attendant and front desk staff—but overall, it was a good experience.

    It was wonderful!

It was truly a wonderful accommodation. The room was clean, and the private open-air bath was very relaxing. The large public bath was also lovely, but being able to use the room's bath without any hesitation allowed me to soak for about three hours late at night! Meals were served in the room, making it comfortable to dine, and both the quality and quantity were highly satisfying. The rice balls provided as a late-night snack were incredibly helpful. The shuttle service accommodated our preferred timing, perfectly aligning with the Odoriko train schedule. Thank you so much!

    The open-air bath was excellent!

We stayed for two nights as a couple to relieve the fatigue of the year. Since it was a traditional Japanese house, the room was a bit cold, but the open-air bath attached to the room was always at the perfect temperature, which was amazing! The meals were served in the room, and everything was very delicious, allowing us to enjoy them at a leisurely pace. The staff was kind and made us feel very comfortable, allowing us to enjoy the traditional luxury of a classic Japanese onsen property. The only thing that bothered me was that during meals, regardless of whether I, the wife, sat with my back to the alcove or at the lower seat, the rice container was always placed on my side. Only on the morning of the last day was the table rearranged to face each other with the alcove in between, and the rice container was placed in the middle, which I thought was more appropriate in this day and age.

Both the Onsen and the meals were perfect.

Check-in was guided by a staff member in the Room. The outdoor hot spring bath was hot, so adjustment was necessary. I ordered the steak Plan, and it was just right; the meat melted in my mouth. The breakfast, rice, and grilled fish were also delicious. It was a Hotel I would like to use again.
