    We truly appreciate it.

    The service was arguably the best we have ever experienced. The Facility was, of course, excellent, and the meals were top-class in both quality and portion size. What impressed us even more was how kindly and thoughtfully you advised us regarding the Shuttle Service. Getting to Kirishima Shrine can be inconvenient due to limited transportation, but thanks to everyone at the Accommodation, we were able to visit Kirishima Shrine very comfortably. We would like to express our sincere gratitude once again. Thank you very much.

    Despite a Facility malfunction that prevented me from washing, there was no follow-up.

    The food was delicious. However, due to a Facility malfunction, hot water stopped coming out of the bath and sink, so I couldn’t bathe (wash my body). I left before check-out time and stopped by a family bath in Hinatayama to wash. In any case, the customer service was completely unacceptable. Their response to the Facility malfunction was especially terrible. I called in the morning and explained the situation, but in the end it was never fixed. When I asked a staff member I happened to pass while heading to breakfast, they laughed as they explained: “It’s broken, so please wash with cold water,” “It will take time until a contractor arrives, so bathing isn’t possible,” and “Please scoop up Onsen water with a bucket and pour it over yourself.” I left one hour before check-out time in order to bathe, but when leaving there was hardly any apology at reception. The other staff had not been informed either and said nothing. There was no hospitality at all.

    We were able to relax and unwind at our leisure.

    We stayed again this year, following our visit last year. The free-flowing Kirishima Onsen soothed our tired bodies—the Onsen here is truly excellent. The meals were also carefully prepared, including thoughtful allergy accommodations, and we enjoyed them very much. However, this time the meal was not served in a private dining room, and we felt the portions were slightly insufficient. Perhaps it was due to the spring break season. Thank you very much for all your help.

    An Accommodation with Wonderful Hospitality

    This cozy Accommodation was truly relaxing, with delicious meals and soothing free-flowing hot spring water. All the staff were kind, and their smiles were wonderful. The cuisine was especially elaborate and seasonal. The portions were just the right amount to finish comfortably. It’s an Accommodation that made me wish I could stay longer—I’d love to visit again!

    It was a wonderful accommodation.

    Stayed in a detached accommodation with an open-air bath. However, the path to the bath was noisy with voices and footsteps from other guests passing by. It was nice to choose a colorful yukata, but since there was only one provided, it would have been better to have an extra yukata for changing or something like samue for sleeping. The food was excellent and very delicious.

    Excellent hospitality.

    From the initial inquiry about the arrival time to the procedures after arrival, everything was handled smoothly and with great care. The meals were delicious, making for a wonderful stay and creating fond memories of Kirishima. Additionally, all staff members greeted us with warm smiles and kindness, leaving a strong impression of their dedication to excellent service and training.

    It was a truly wonderful Ryokan.

    The Ryokan had a charming atmosphere and was very pleasant. All the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Dinner and breakfast were served in a calm, separate room. The dishes were beautifully presented and very delicious. One concern was that the public bath was slightly smaller than expected, and you need to walk outside a bit to reach it. On an extremely hot day, I ended up sweating on my way back to the Room from the public bath.

    Fourth visit.

    Fourth visit. The age of the room and building is starting to show a little. However, the wonderful quality of the Onsen, delicious cuisine, and excellent hospitality were perfect. There were also foreign guests, but the staff's warm smiles made a great impression. Having visited since the plants were still small, it was nice to see how beautifully they have grown over time. It might be time for some renovations soon. The pickled shallots in vinegar prepared with care by the chef were delicious. Thank you very much for all your thoughtful gestures. I would love to visit again!

    First Time in Kirishima

    Thank you for your hospitality. We stayed at the accommodation on the second day of our trip to Kagoshima with three generations of our family for the first time. Kagoshima Prefecture was a wonderful place. We decided on this accommodation after reading positive reviews. Although we arrived later than planned, we had hoped to enjoy dinner after relaxing in the onsen and requested a later dining time. However, due to staff scheduling or other reasons, we were told that if it was too late, dishes would be served all at once, and our request could not be accommodated, which was disappointing. We wanted to fully enjoy the highly-rated cuisine at this accommodation. In our room, there were several flies even after pest control measures were taken; they reappeared for some reason. The onsen was very pleasant.

    I think it is a good accommodation.

    The guest rooms and facilities show some signs of aging, but they are well-maintained and did not cause any discomfort. Attention to detail was impressive throughout the accommodation. The hospitality and service were impeccable. In recent years, accommodations have seen an increase in foreign staff, and this accommodation is no exception. However, the staff are well-trained, and their efforts were evident and heartwarming. Overall, it was a highly satisfying experience. As for the onsen, the quality of the water was exceptional as expected from Kirishima Onsen—truly a bath worth enjoying multiple times. The large communal bath also showed slight signs of aging but was well-maintained and comfortable to use. The meals were excellent in quality. The slightly awkward interactions with some foreign staff could be considered charming rather than problematic. While it is uncommon for chefs in Japanese cuisine to visit tables for feedback like in Western dining traditions, I felt compelled to express my appreciation for such outstanding dishes provided here. If possible, having a greeting or interaction with the head chef would further enhance satisfaction with the dining experience—a suggestion worth considering. Overall satisfaction with this accommodation is high; it is undoubtedly a great place to stay. From a cost-performance perspective as well, this accommodation offers excellent value for its price point!

    Foreign staff

    The staff were mainly Sri Lankan women, and their demeanor and language were excellent. There were several Sri Lankan women, all of whom seemed well-trained. The meals were outstanding, as expected from a Ryokan with a fine dining experience. It was a cozy and pleasant Ryokan, and I would love to visit again.

    Recently, my wife and I stayed for one night at Shinri. The Onsen had the perfect temperature—not too hot or cold—and the water quality was excellent. The slight scent of sulfur added to a truly relaxing experience. Regarding meals, we consulted in advance about my wife's allergies, and all our requests were thoughtfully accommodated. The dishes were refined and delicious, just like those from a high-end restaurant, leaving us deeply impressed throughout our stay. We are already talking about returning next year to enjoy it all over again. Thank you very much for your hospitality!

    We were warmly welcomed by many staff members upon arrival. The room featured a beautiful fresh flower arrangement in the alcove, and we could feel attention to detail in the amenities and furnishings throughout. The meals were not only delicious but also visually stunning, which made for an excellent dining experience. The dedication of the foreign staff members who served us with great effort left us feeling very touched and warm-hearted. The bath was, of course, wonderful as well. It was a truly memorable and excellent accommodation. Thank you for your hospitality.

    As expected of a traditional Japanese restaurant's reputation.

    At the end of September, four women stayed for two nights. The food was absolutely wonderful. Each dish was carefully prepared, and everything was delicious, especially the hot dishes, which we could enjoy while they were still hot. Many of the staff were from abroad. Although their language skills were a bit rough, they all worked hard to provide excellent service. The onsen was a natural hot spring, and the sulfur smell enveloped us as we warmed up from the core. The large public bath was practically private for us both days. There are many stairs from the room to the large public bath, so elderly guests should be careful when moving around in unfamiliar geta. We used the open-air bath in the room several times. The room was spacious. However, in our room, the place to wash hands was in a washroom separate from the toilet, which was a bit inconvenient. We recommend the eel restaurant Yoshi Mune (Yoshimune) located very close to the ryokan. You'll be full from the meals at Takechiyo (竹千代), so you'll need to time your visit to Kirishima Shrine to work up an appetite (laughs). We were able to enjoy it thanks to the advice from the proprietress. We also appreciated the shuttle service. It was a property filled with thoughtful hospitality.

    Good inn

    It is a nice inn that blends with the forest of Kirishima Shrine, offering a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Both the large public bath and the open-air bath in the room have excellent hot springs that make your skin smooth. As expected from a ryokan with a restaurant, the meals were delicious. It is an inn that makes you want to visit again.
