    This Hotel is a relaxing place to unwind.

    Check-in and Dining As we were staying with a large group, they handled our additional requests smoothly. They thoughtfully arranged the seating for dinner, and it seemed the same consideration was carried over to breakfast. We were able to enjoy our meals in a relaxed atmosphere. Everything was delicious, and we were fully satisfied both visually and in terms of portion size. The Onsen was also wonderful. We received smart, unobtrusive, and attentive service throughout. It was a truly great stay. Thank you very much.

    Ocean-view Room

    The meals were excellent. Since it was a buffet, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but there was a great variety of seasonal dishes. They also offered thoughtful touches like take-away coffee, and we ate until we were completely full. The bath water was wonderful too, and I’d love to visit again.

    The customer service was disappointing.

    I stayed during the Obon holiday. I made a Reservation after reading Reviews, but I was disappointed in several ways. First, at check-in, the front desk staff spoke in a mechanical way, as if they were just following a manual. Even during the explanation, they kept glancing away, which felt dismissive and unpleasant. In the bath area, the hair dryer airflow was far too weak. On top of that, it would shut off about once every 5 seconds. Even if all 5–6 dryers were being used due to the Obon holiday rush, having it cut out repeatedly was very stressful. In the end, I dried my hair in my Room. The reception staff at the dining venue were also quite unfriendly, and again it felt like guests were being treated carelessly. About JPY 60,000 for two people (twin Room with breakfast and dinner). I understand prices fluctuate during Obon season and had some expectations, but I did not feel the value matched the price. The food was delicious.

    We were able to relax very comfortably.

    Although it was the summer holiday season and there were many families, the Facility was spacious and relaxing, so it never felt crowded. The Room was also large and comfortable. Next time, I’d like to return for leisure rather than business.

    Great meals, an Onsen, and beautiful views.

    There is a Shuttle Service bus, which is convenient when traveling by train. Both dinner and breakfast were buffet-style, and I thought the taste and variety were decent. The Room didn’t feel particularly resort-like, but it was spacious enough, and the view was excellent. The Onsen water was silky-smooth, and the open-air bath was also great. Overall, it was good value for money and I was satisfied.

    Oceanfront

    This was my first visit to Wakayama Prefecture. The Hotel Room wasn’t just ocean-view—it was truly oceanfront. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t very good, which was a shame, but the sunset was beautiful. Although the price was lower than a Business Hotel, the Room was spacious and comfortable, and I think I enjoyed a very pleasant stay. I usually do weight training and wanted to use the gym, but there were too few machines, so I gave up. As a request, it would be convenient if there were Shuttle Service from the airport and from Shirahama Station as well. There is also Takiuchi bus stop about a 5-minute walk away, and there is Shuttle Service from Kii-Tanabe Station, but on rainy days or in extreme heat it’s honestly tough. This is just an impression, but the front desk staff spoke with a Kansai accent, which reminded me again that this is Kansai. Other guests from the Kanto area said something similar as well—it really leaves a strong impression.

    This is a wonderful Hotel where you can enjoy a resort-like atmosphere at an affordable price.

    Although it is named “Tanabe,” it sits at the edge of the Shirahama area, making it convenient for visiting many sightseeing spots. Set on a vast seaside property, the huge fortress-like building is especially eye-catching. Every room has an ocean view, and with indoor and outdoor pools, a fitness room, and an open-air bath overlooking the sea, you can enjoy a true resort atmosphere wherever you are. The Onsen water feels silky-smooth like lotion, and you can also enjoy a full-fledged hot spring experience. For breakfast, we dined at the lovely restaurant IRODORI while looking out over the ocean. The whitebait and tuna rice bowl was particularly enjoyable and delicious. 　Perhaps because we stayed on a Sunday night, we were able to book a plan with breakfast for 8,880 yen—less than many business hotels. Considering the Facilities available and breakfast included at this price, it almost felt too good to be true. This is a Hotel I would definitely like to stay at again.

    Great-value Accommodation

    It was a Plan with breakfast included, but I was able to stay at a very low price. It was so inexpensive that I wondered if it was really sustainable in these times of rising costs. The Facility is undeniably old, but it is well cleaned and comfortable. The staff’s service was pleasant, and there were no particular issues. The large public bath had excellent water quality as well. If I had to point out one thing, when stepping out onto the balcony, the partition between neighboring Rooms is far too low—almost like a shared balcony. Even without any intention of looking into the next Room, you can see straight inside. There is no sense of privacy at all, and it made me worry whether this poses a security concern. Also, because the air conditioner’s outdoor unit faces sideways rather than outward, hot air blows across the entire balcony and it becomes unbearably hot. For a seaside resort, this is a serious drawback. That said, everything else was very good, so I would like to stay again.

    The sunset…

    “I heard on the way to the Hotel, ‘This Hotel faces west, so the sunsets are beautiful.’ Here, the evening view begins while the sun is still high. When sunlight breaks through gaps in the clouds, a band of light stretches straight across the mirror-calm sea (it was unusually flat that day) all the way to the beach in front of our Room. It was so beautiful and overwhelming—an exquisite moment that felt like it had been captured by a photographer. In that instant, I understood why this Hotel stands in this location and faces this direction. The staff were kind and attentive as well—thank you for such a wonderful experience.”

    A Hotel You'll Want to Return To

    The property was very clean, but I was concerned that the air conditioning and other equipment felt old and had a musty smell. I also wished there were cotton pads among the amenities. I was a bit concerned about the cleanliness of the open-air bath, though the other baths were great. The hospitality of both the front desk and restaurant staff was excellent, and I would definitely like to visit again. The meals were delicious, featuring local ingredients, and some dishes gave me new ideas—“I didn’t know you could eat it this way…!?” Overall, aside from those concerns, I was very satisfied. I also stay at other Harvest properties; while this Facility is undeniably older, my impression is that in terms of service and overall experience it surpasses even newer Harvest locations.

    Great hot springs! Delicious meals!

    I was amazed by the quality of the hot water. It was smooth and wonderful. The open-air bath was also relaxing, and it was great that it was available until midnight, allowing us to enjoy it whenever we wanted. The meals were refined, with each ingredient carefully selected. Especially for breakfast, the miso soup toppings like yuzu and mitsuba were delightful, and the grated yam for rice bowls had a perfect texture and taste. It felt like a healthy breakfast overall. While there were Western-style options like bread, the Japanese dishes were particularly satisfying—I even tried some bread too! I’m very satisfied. The view from the Room was stunning; watching the sunset over the ocean made me feel truly relaxed. Next time, I’d love to try a Multiple Night Stay. If possible, having a welcome drink would be nice! I once stayed at a Hotel with a coffee maker available anytime—it reminded me how enjoyable it is to sip coffee while admiring an ocean view. Still, I had an incredibly satisfying start to my New Year here—it seems like it's going to be a great year ahead. Thank you very much!

    The ocean view is spectacular.

    The view was amazing, and the moment I opened the curtains, I felt glad to have come. The bath was silky and very relaxing! The dinner buffet had good flavors overall, but I felt there were few standout dishes with unique characteristics. What made me happiest was being able to eat as many pickled plums as I wanted—they were absolutely delicious! The rice was shiny and tasty as well.

    Not a Resort Hotel, but a Business Hotel

    Room cleaning is not good. Breakfast is the same every day and the worst for a Resort Hotel breakfast, with no meat at all. Improvements or new items are desired. Staff service is mediocre, lacking attention to detail.

    The Onsen is excellent.

    I use this accommodation every time I visit Tanabe. The room is standard, but having a private toilet is convenient. The quality of the onsen water is excellent, leaving my skin smooth. The accommodation cost is affordable, so I am always satisfied. I think I will stay here again when I visit Tanabe.

    The outdoor pool is amazing! Enjoy the last days of summer!

    Since staying at this Hotel, I no longer visit hotels in Shirahama. The view and service are excellent! This time, I used the outdoor pool for the first time, and it was safe with a moderate number of people and a lifeguard present. The Onsen is also clean. Watching the vast ocean from the Room makes you lose track of time.

    I had a relaxing time.

    I saw that color of the setting sun for the first time in a while. The ocean view is beautiful, and the red hues of the sunset reflecting on the sea from the balcony... The scenery is stunning. As expected, this chain of Hotels stands out for its comfort. I didn’t see any international guests. The quiet front desk area is very relaxing.

    The accommodation offers a stunning view from the window!

    Although it was on a lower floor, the view of the sea from the room was very beautiful. The smooth texture of the Onsen water was also very pleasant. I had a relaxing and quiet one-night stay and was extremely satisfied. I hope to enjoy a multiple night stay next time.

    Excellent location. Perfect service by the hotel staff. Plus, an open-air bath and delicious breakfast. If I had to mention a downside, it would be that the dinner restaurant was unavailable due to reservations and private bookings. However, they recommended an amazing Wakayama ramen shop nearby, which was very satisfying. Also, it would have been nice to have a hair tie for washing my hair—that's about it. I will definitely stay here whenever I travel to the Wakayama area. A great hotel I can recommend to friends and acquaintances. Thank you very much!

    Visit the Hama Family Panda

    This was my first time staying in Kii-Tanabe to visit Adventure World. I had made a reservation for dinner in advance, choosing the most affordable Western course, so honestly, I didn’t have high expectations. However, from the appetizers, everything looked great and tasted delicious. For the main dish, I chose fish—it was incredibly tasty! I left feeling full and extremely satisfied. The onsen felt smooth like lotion and added to the value of this highly cost-effective stay.

    I was impressed with the breakfast.

    We arrived late at night, so we couldn't have dinner at the Hotel. However, the breakfast buffet had a wide variety of dishes, all delicious, and we ended up eating a lot. We talked with our family about coming back next time to try the dinner. The Room was old-fashioned but comfortable with a beautiful ocean view right in front of us. The bath was a pleasant Onsen that left our skin feeling smooth. It would have been nice if towels were provided in the large public bath, but considering the great value for money, it’s understandable. However, it was disappointing to find some trash accumulated in the corner of the toilet.

    Overall, it was good.

    On the way to the large public bath in the basement, there is a game center, and noise leaks outside. It is low-level noise that does not suit a Resort Hotel. The Japanese cuisine was delicious, but it was disappointing that all the dishes were served at once, possibly due to staff shortages. However, the view was great, and overall I was satisfied.

    Due to the inbound effect...

    The stay at the accommodation was very satisfying as always, but the pick-up vehicle was a bit disappointing. The bus for pick-up was overcrowded with many foreign visitors, and we had to hold our suitcases on our laps. Many foreign guests were talking without masks. I hope this can be improved next time. Once we arrived at the hotel, it felt like heaven and we were extremely satisfied. The view from the room was breathtaking!

    Delight in the soothing embrace of our luxurious hot spring water.

    I had heard about the excellent quality of the Onsen water and was eager to visit, so I stayed this time. Although it was disappointing not to see the sunset from the ocean-view Room, as expected, the Onsen water felt smooth on my skin and made it silky. I enjoyed bathing three times. As Onsen lovers, we were extremely satisfied. The location, Room size, and attentive service from the staff were all wonderful. I would love to become a repeat guest. Thank you for your hospitality!

    Breathtaking ocean v...

    Breathtaking ocean views from the room window. A family trip with one less member after many years. Next time, I hope to visit with the entire family together. However, I was concerned about the dirt on the bathroom door and the flooring in the toilet area.

    I was able to spend time facing the sea.

    I enjoyed a luxurious time overlooking the sea. I tasted both the shiso and honey types of pickled plums for breakfast, simply enjoying the Wakayama life. The staff's smiles provided reassurance, saying that as long as you're above the third floor, you'll be safe even if a tsunami comes. Next time, I'd like to bring my work and face the sea while working; it seems like it would be productive.
