    Wonderful

    This was my first stay, and the Hotel met my expectations. I truly felt the one-of-a-kind space and time created by Mr. Ando. The staff were also kind and welcoming, making it a wonderful experience. Access may require a bit of extra attention.

    The view was spectacular.

    As the Hotel is located on a hill, we were informed in advance, but the car navigation system did not provide clear directions. In return, the view was outstanding, and we were able to fully enjoy the sunrise. The building is beautiful, but in the Japanese-style Room, some age-related wear was a bit noticeable.

    As expected from TOTO.

    The building was old, but the view was amazing. The kitchen looked lovely even though we didn't use it, and the toilet and Room's bathroom were modern and excellent. It would have been nice to have a souvenir shop or a small store inside the facility.

    Great value for money. I would like to visit again in the summer to enjoy the pool.

    The lobby offers a great view, and the food is delicious.

    The food was delicious, and the architecture by Tadao Ando was stunning. The moment I entered the lobby, I was impressed by its stylish design! I made a reservation under the impression that all areas had ocean views as stated on the website. However, neither the room nor the public bath had any view of the sea. Upon rechecking, I realized that "all areas" referred to public spaces other than rooms and baths. This misunderstanding was my mistake, not an issue with the accommodation itself. The public bath felt more like a meeting room or a simple communal bath—small and basic in design. Including the room, it felt similar to Kanpo no Yado accommodations. We stayed on Awaji Island for three nights, and this place was priced highest among them. While our expectations were high due to this pricing, we found other accommodations more affordable with better views and satisfaction levels overall. Considering this price point, it fell slightly short of expectations for us. I had read reviews from others mentioning some challenges beforehand but thought we could manage since we're young! However, climbing stairs to reach our room turned out more strenuous than expected—it left us sweating while carrying suitcases (laughs). It seems understandable since it used to be a corporate retreat facility rather than being designed like a traditional ryokan. The lobby and dining area offer beautiful ocean views which are lovely; however, as we prioritized relaxing in our room during this trip—the lackluster experience there stood out negatively for us. That said—the meals were excellent! The staff members were incredibly kind and attentive throughout our stay too—thank you so much! It appears managed by Relo Vacation Club now as well.

    The latest TOTO bath...

    The latest TOTO bath and toilet were very comfortable. The meals were delicious, thoughtfully prepared considering allergies and disliked ingredients, and served in a way that felt like a special kaiseki experience. Thank you. I hope to visit again while I can still manage the stairs with ease.

    We visited with 11 p...

    We visited with 11 people from 4 families to celebrate the owner's birthday. After visiting Honpukuji Temple by Ando architecture and being impressed by its magnificence, we entered the Hotel with high expectations. Our expectations were not disappointed, as we could feel the art museums and Hotels of Naoshima throughout the building, which made us feel nostalgic and happy. I was particularly impressed by how pleasant the person in charge during meals was. Thank you very much.

    This is my second vi...

    This is my second visit. This year, I was designated with an intractable disease and was feeling down, but a lifelong friend invited me to find hope. The delicious meals, the magnificent picture of great nature which is the concept of our facility, and above all, the warm hospitality of all the staff brought tears to my eyes. I will do my best with the treatment. Please allow me to visit again in different seasons. I gained courage. Thank you very much. I look forward to your continued support.

    Stylish Hotel

    I was able to stay at a great price by using the early bird discount. Since the Hotel is located on a hill, the view is excellent. Depending on the guest room, you can see the sea from the Room. It's a bit disappointing that the parking lot is a little far and on a slope. The view from the front desk and the bookshelf design are stylish and stand out. Since it's a concrete building, privacy is well-protected. For meals, I ordered the basic kaiseki, which was very satisfying. The hot pot soup with a white miso base was delicious, and when I asked the chef about the ingredients, he kindly told me. The staff were also kind and attentive, allowing me to enjoy a relaxing vacation. The changing room and bathroom are a bit small and close early at 10 PM, but they are clean, and I used the free foot massage machine twice while there.

    Unfortunately, the d...

    Unfortunately, the day of stay was marked by heavy rain. We drove our private car along the winding mountain road to a building with exposed concrete walls. The entrance is high-tech. Indeed, this is Ando architecture. A space created to showcase the grandeur of nature without unnecessary decorations. With great expectations for tomorrow morning, we headed to the room. A spacious room with an indoor bath, washbasin, and toilet. Everything was of an astonishingly wonderful specification. The two meals included were made with heartfelt ingredients, and I was simply moved as I savored each dish. The staff serving the meals were very pleasant, and I truly enjoyed the experience. Thank you very much. I would definitely like to visit again. A picture. Indeed.
