    A Nostalgic Accommodation

    Thank you for taking care of us for a 1-night, 2-day stay. A Japanese-style Accommodation. It was kept very clean, and we were able to stay comfortably. The Room had a unit bath; the toilet was separate, but it was small and might be difficult to use for larger people. It may also be inconvenient as a washroom. The proprietress came to greet us at dinner. The food was delicious. For drinks, we had beer and wine. At check-out, they saw us off until we were out of sight. These days, many Accommodations allow easy check-in and check-out, so you can stay without much interaction with staff, but the service here was very friendly and welcoming. We were also able to enjoy an event like a festival in the Onsen town. The bath was very pleasant, and I can recommend it.

    Everything was exceptional—we’re glad we chose this Accommodation.

    The meals were beautifully presented and delicious, and the bath was wonderfully soothing—its gentle water warmed me to the core. The places we visited based on the owner’s advice (a walk and a roadside station) were also excellent. We were pleasantly surprised by the exceptional service of being able to use three yukata per person for a one-night stay, which is something you rarely find elsewhere, allowing us to relax in comfort. The attention to detail and thoughtful hospitality throughout were outstanding, and we had a wonderful time. Thank you very much.

    The Onsen was very pleasant.

    With an open-air bath, the Onsen in our Room was at just the right temperature and felt wonderful. It had no smell, so I couldn’t really tell what the water quality was like, but my husband—who usually dislikes baths—went in three times, which is rare for him. However, I was concerned that the bath bucket was blackened and chipped, possibly due to the Onsen. The meals used local ingredients, and the salmon was very delicious. The seasonal Nemagari bamboo shoots were also a rare treat, so we bought some to take home from a shop near Nagano Station.

    The hospitality is outstanding.

    The staff and the proprietress were wonderfully attentive. The meals and the Onsen were excellent. I would love to stay again. I only learned at checkout that the lounge could be used free of charge, so I wish I had known during my stay.

    I’d like to stay here again.

    I stayed here to see the snow monkeys in Jigokudani. Come to think of it, I haven’t had many chances to visit Nagano Prefecture, and this was almost my first time experiencing an Onsen. (Probably Hakuba skiing more than ten years ago? Or just stopping by briefly on the way when my wife visited her family in Niigata.) I’ve stayed at many places, and this has become one of the Accommodations I’d like to use again. The semi-open-air bath in the Room was so good that I ended up not using the large public bath or the two outdoor baths, which was a shame. Also, it felt refreshingly rare these days that the proprietress greeted us here and there. It had the feel of a quiet, old-fashioned Onsen town, and that actually made it even nicer (especially since Kusatsu was incredibly crowded the next day). The building feels a bit old—perhaps expanded over time—and there are some drawbacks such as steps in various places (stairs even on the same floor) and a long, narrow Room with level changes. It would be nice if ramps and better soundproofing could be added... At times, while in the Room, I noticed vibrations and noise. This may be difficult to arrange, but I would be happy if guests could also bathe at all of the outdoor baths (Bath No. 1 onward).

    For your wedding anniversary

    After a long time since the pandemic, we visited Masaya for our anniversary trip and to pay a visit to Zenkoji Temple. The food was incredibly delicious with just the right portions, and my husband really enjoyed it. The staff were very kind, making our stay comfortable and pleasant.

    A Ryokan with natural hot spring baths and delicious meals.

    It was my first visit to Yudanaka Onsen. I decided to stay at Masuya Ryokan as a room with an open-air bath was available. The onsen, with its free-flowing hot spring water, had perfect water volume and temperature. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, and I finished everything on my plate. The careful preparation of each ingredient was evident, with seasoning that wasn’t too strong and brought out the natural flavors perfectly. Instead of asking about disliked ingredients during the reservation process, they inquired after our arrival. I informed them about my husband’s preferences, which they kindly accommodated during dinner. The proprietress also greeted us personally and saw us off upon departure, making it a warm and hospitable ryokan experience. I would love to visit again!

    The char shabu-shabu was delicious.

    The meals were perfectly portioned and delicious until the last bite. The Iwana shabu-shabu was particularly delightful. The Facility showed its age, but it provided a comfortable and pleasant stay.

    Guest First

    A charming accommodation with a lovely Onsen atmosphere. The room is compact and cozy, though the toilet space might feel a bit tight for those with a larger build. Other than that, it’s very comfortable. The Onsen includes both indoor and outdoor baths, and the natural hot spring water was surprisingly quite hot! Meals were delightful, thanks to the efforts of the kitchen staff and servers who pleased both our eyes and taste buds. At night, we enjoyed strolling through the beautifully lit-up Onsen town. Next time, we hope to arrive earlier for more exploration. This accommodation is filled with warmth and smiles reflecting the personality of its gracious hostess.

    Very satisfied

    The Onsen Ryokan provided satisfaction in every aspect, including service, meals, the Onsen, and room cleanliness. It was delightful to stroll through the hot spring town in geta sandals after a long time and enjoy activities at the shooting range.

    The overall atmosphere was calm, allowing for a relaxing stay. Meals were served in a private room, providing a leisurely dining experience. After dinner, we enjoyed strolling through the Onsen town and admired the nighttime view of Kanaguya. However, on the day of arrival, the water was extremely hot, and we could only dip our legs into both the open-air bath in our room and the public bath. We were informed that since the temperature of the hot spring source changes daily, it is adjusted with groundwater. However, as we came to this Onsen Ryokan specifically to enjoy hot springs, it was very disappointing to only experience them as foot baths. Additionally, during the room orientation, it would have been helpful if they had explained that there were blinds in the bedroom to block external light.

    This is my second st...

    This is my second stay. The staff and the hostess at the accommodation were truly kind and wonderful. The meals were absolutely satisfying. Above all, the private open-air hot spring bath in the guest room was exceptional. This is an accommodation I would love to stay at once a year.

    A warm and inviting ...

    A warm and inviting atmosphere with a sense of harmony, friendly staff, and a clean accommodation. The flowing Onsen was well-maintained and very pleasant. Receiving such excellent hospitality at this price made for a wonderful New Year's experience.

    Satisfied with both meals and the bath.

    We stayed in a room with an open-air bath to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The open-air bath attached to the room allowed us to enjoy the view of falling snow through the window, and we used it multiple times. The meals for adults were very satisfying, and we were delighted by the variety of dishes offered for children as well. The hostess and staff created a warm atmosphere, making this one of the accommodations we'd love to visit again if given the chance.

    Impressive hospitality!

    I stayed for one night and two days. From start to finish, I received warm hospitality and had a pleasant stay. The room was newly opened in April, so it was clean and well-maintained. The elevator seemed a bit old; it took some time to arrive and moved slowly between floors, which was slightly concerning. The large public baths operated on a time-swapping system, allowing me to enjoy two different baths. The water was slightly hot but had excellent quality. I heard that the bathwater is replaced daily, and the tubs are cleaned each time as well. Dinner was served at the perfect temperature—cold dishes were cold, and hot dishes were hot—which amazed me considering this accommodation fee includes such attentive service. The meal featured many local ingredients, tasted delicious, and left me completely full with more than enough food to enjoy. The atmosphere of the onsen town at night from the back entrance was lovely. There were several public baths available for those enjoying a bath-hopping experience. It was wonderful that the accommodation's large public bath could be used all night long—I entered at 3 AM. Both the hostess and staff provided excellent service throughout my stay, making it very comfortable. Thank you so much for your hospitality! I would highly recommend this place to others. Thank you again!
