    A relaxing Room by the river

    We stayed as a family of three in Room A on the basement level! It’s probably the most affordable Room, but it has a beautiful river view right in front of you. The open-air bath in the Room has no window, so you can hear the river up close—an amazing view—and it was more than enough for us. The hot spring water in both the in-room open-air bath and the private baths is silky and smooth, almost like lotion. It kept us warm for a long time and felt absolutely wonderful. There are three private baths, and they are not Reservation-based, so you can bathe whenever you like without running into other guests. Meals are served in a private dining room where you can relax, and the squid sashimi at breakfast was especially delicious. If you enjoy drinking, there is all-you-can-drink sake in the free space, but beer and shochu must be ordered (there are no vending machines inside), so it may feel pricey. There are vending machines for water and tea, but they were also expensive. With only 10 rooms total, this Accommodation is perfect for anyone who wants to spend a quiet, relaxing stay!

    Everything was excellent!!

    After check-out, I accidentally left something behind, but they mailed it to my home free of charge. They even included a complimentary bath additive, which made me very happy. I’m truly grateful! Everything was wonderful—from the Room and service to the food. I will definitely stay again.

    The in-room bath was very nice.

    We stayed in a basement-level Room. Although it is on the lower level, we could enjoy a riverside view from the Room and did not feel any sense of being closed in. It was a Japanese-style Room where the futon is prepared during dinner, and everything was very clean, so we had a comfortable stay. The semi-open-air bath in the Room has Onsen water circulating at all times, and it was wonderful to be able to enjoy the Onsen whenever we liked, both at night and in the morning. The three baths outside the Room are also private-use only, so we could relax and enjoy them, and we were able to try every type. We also appreciated the courteous welcome on arrival—they even came out to our car—and we enjoyed delicious meals. However, at bedtime we could hear quite loud noises such as other Rooms’ doors opening and closing, so I rated “Facility & Amenities” as 3 stars. Also regarding the service at final payment, I’m not sure whether it was because checkout time was busy or because we used a coupon, but I felt there was some difference compared with how other guests were treated.

    This was my third st...

    This was my third stay, having visited twice more than 15 years ago. The entire Accommodation has been fully renovated, and I was very satisfied with the guest room, the private open-air bath in the room, and all of the meals. The bath temperature in particular was just right, making my stay very comfortable. I would definitely like to stay here again.

    Due to a sudden chan...

    Due to a sudden change in travel plans, I made a reservation the day before my stay. Perhaps because it was last minute, I was able to book a room at an affordable price. After finishing errands in Koriyama, I arrived at the accommodation around 5:00 PM. Since it was close to the station, I walked there, but with strong winds and snow falling, my body was chilled by the time I arrived. I immediately entered the onsen bath in my room. The water temperature was just right, and soaking in the bath warmed me up thoroughly. Although described as an open-air bath (rotenburo), it is more of a semi-open-air bath; while technically indoors, outside air flows freely into the space making it feel almost like an open-air experience. There are bamboo blinds that block any view of outside scenery—likely intended to maintain warmth inside the bathroom area. The water quality has a faint sulfur scent but isn’t overpowering; you can soak for as long as you like comfortably. It’s truly excellent water quality. The next morning when daylight came through brighter skies—I lifted those blinds slightly while enjoying another soak amidst snowy views visible from parts of this private onsen setup within our room itself! Between its great structure/design & soothing sounds emanating nearby river streams combined w/ crisp outdoor air contrasting against warm waters—it felt utterly rejuvenating overall! Despite harsh cold weather outdoors where powdery snowflakes danced fiercely—the juxtaposition between freezing temperatures outside versus being immersed cozily inside steaming hot springs created such uniquely pleasant sensations altogether! Our room itself appeared modernized/newly renovated alongside cleanliness standards upheld well throughout premises too! Television offered access including YouTube streaming options displayed via large screen easily viewable directly even lying down atop beds provided therein conveniently enough likewise. Meals served weren’t bad either though perhaps reflective pricing-wise accordingly fair value-wise relatively speaking nonetheless satisfactory still overall impressions left behind positively indeed hereupon reflecting back fondly upon experiences shared during stays spent alike thus far encountered firsthand personally ourselves included among others similarly situated comparably parallel circumstances surrounding contexts involved mutually benefiting everyone concerned equally across board universally applicable principles governing operations conducted seamlessly efficiently     Private baths with thoughtful touches would make it perfect.

    The meals were excellent. I had read reviews mentioning that the room was small, but the view from the window caught my attention first, so I thought it was acceptable. I wanted to try all the private baths, so I waited in the lounge for an available one. The "In Use" sign on the door was firmly attached, and if you left the door open, it would indicate that it was not in use. However, most guests closed the doors when leaving, making them appear occupied even when they were not. This led to unnecessary waiting. The complimentary local sake, snacks, and yuzu juice in the lounge were a delightful touch!

    Unusually many steps and uneven surfaces.

    Not barrier-free. Breakfast porridge was served late. Unclear if staff understood Japanese. The duvet was too heavy, making it hard to sleep. The room was overly dry. Onsen is on the basement floor, inaccessible for those with walking difficulties. No handrails in the room's Onsen; bathroom floor is slippery and unsafe. Unlikely to revisit.

    Enjoyable Dining

    Despite the sudden accommodation, they kindly provided allergy-friendly meals. Thank you very much. Perhaps due to the high temperature, the outdoor bath was too hot to enjoy comfortably, so I rated it 4. The welcome drink included local sake, which was very delicious. During dinner, I enjoyed another type of local sake and had a wonderful dining experience. If given the chance, I would love to stay again.

    The excitement is only at the beginning.

    The approach from the taxi to the entrance is pleasant, and the lobby has a charming atmosphere reflecting 70 years of history. The Room met expectations, and there is a lounge with free drinks as well as three private open-air baths. Initially impressive, but some inconveniences were noted: a difficult-to-use hanger rack, an uncomfortable single chair, and no stand mirror often found even in Business Hotels. The open-air bath in the Room had issues with insects and moths; turning on the light attracted many bugs. This seems unavoidable due to the location. However, the morning bath was comfortable. It would be nice if the lounge included items catering more to women’s preferences. One private bath became crowded at times, leading to long waiting periods.

    Top-Class Accommodation

    I stayed for one night in late April. The room was a Japanese-style room with an open-air bath. It was spacious enough, and I enjoyed the view of the flowing Gohyaku River and fresh greenery through the window while relaxing. The staff's service was exceptionally polite and attentive. The room had well-stocked amenities, including two bath towels per person. Additionally, a "bamboo basket bag" was provided for use when going to the private baths, which showed thoughtful consideration from the staff and left me impressed. The open-air bath featured natural hot spring water with a slightly hotter temperature; it had a mild sulfur scent and soft water quality. There were three private baths available, all spacious and very comfortable as well. Dinner and breakfast were served in a private dining room, featuring kaiseki cuisine made with ingredients from Fukushima that were incredibly delicious and generously portioned—truly impressive! The timing of each dish being served was perfect as well. If I have another chance to visit, I would love to enjoy the open-air bath while admiring snowy landscapes next time!

    The highest quality of hot spring water

    This is my third visit. The meals are delicious, the variety of sake is excellent, and above all, the quality of the hot spring water is superb and silky! The staff's service was great, making for a pleasant stay! If possible, it would be helpful to have heating in the restroom and some lighting at the three-sided mirror area as it was dark; even a small stand light would assist with morning makeup. Nonetheless, this is my favorite lovely property. I will visit again. Thank you very much!

    The last Onsen of 2024

    The last onsen of 2024 at Moritaya in Bandai Atami. A wonderful property that feels like returning to your own home. The staff's natural hospitality is extremely comfortable. I would like to use it again next time. If I may say, the dining area and the restroom were cold.

    I visited for the fi...

    I visited for the first time. I arrived around 3 PM, but there was no staff standing by, so I didn't know where to park. I got out of the car and went to the entrance, and then someone came out. The room was not as spacious as I expected. The Onsen and meals were delicious. When leaving, after putting my luggage in the car, they just said goodbye without seeing me off until the end.

    The room was a Japan...

    The room was a Japanese-style room with an open-air bath. Since the open-air bath was in the room, it was nice to be able to use it without worrying about the time. Dinner was set at 6 PM. It would have been nice if there was also an option for 6:30 PM. Breakfast was at either 8 AM or 8:30 AM, but it would have been nice if there was an earlier option. The room's TV was so old and small that it seemed like it was from many years ago. I was a bit disappointed, wondering if it was just this room.

    Perfectly smooth and silky hot water

    This is the perfect Onsen! The water is wonderful! The meals were delicious without being too strongly flavored. The basic course was just the right amount, but you can order additional dishes if you like. The dining area was a private room, allowing us to enjoy our meal without worrying about others. Our Room this time was a compact Japanese-style room in the basement, with a view of the mountain stream from the window. The bath in the Room was a semi-open-air hot spring with free-flowing water, allowing us to enjoy a relaxing soak! We also used the free private bath, but the bath in the Room was satisfying enough. The staff were very courteous, and we were grateful for their service. It has become one of the Stays we want to visit again!
