    It was scorching hot outside, but the Hotel was wonderful inside.

    I was truly able to relax. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. At dinner, the staff member was from overseas, but I was genuinely impressed by their polite Japanese. I was very satisfied with the Onsen temperature and water quality. If you plan to make changes in the future, I would prefer separate top-and-bottom sleepwear instead of a yukata. Maybe yukata are popular with international guests, but I’d be happy if guests could choose. Thank you very much.

    This was my second s...

    This was my second stay. As before, the Facility was spotless and the Room was very clean. We booked breakfast only, but the meal was delicious. In particular, the yudofu made with Onsen water was outstanding. There is also a large public bath, and since it was very hot during the day, it really helped wash away both sweat and fatigue. I would love to stay here again when I visit Kyoto. Thank you very much.

    Girls’ Trip

    It was a girls’ trip with five classmates. Close to the station, able to stay together as a group of five, and with a large public bath (and even an Onsen) — it was the perfect Accommodation. We were really glad we could stay here. The large public bath had plenty of washing stations, and the changing area was clean, so we could relax. Above all, the bath in our Room was spacious, and the water felt great — very comfortable. The amenities were also well stocked. The front desk kindly gave us advice on how to get to Katsura Imperial Villa, which was very helpful. We would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

    The bath and breakfast were great.

    The bathwater was clean, which was great. Breakfast was served individually rather than buffet-style, and my wife really liked it.

    The bath was great.

    I stayed here because I heard there was an Onsen near Kyoto Station. The bath and meals were good, but the Room and Facility were disappointing. The TV remote had dead batteries and didn’t work, and the electric kettle also didn’t work, so I had it replaced. Worst of all was the bed—it was the worst among the Hotels I’ve stayed at recently.

    Onsen

    Recently, more Hotels in central Kyoto have been offering large public baths, but the Onsen here was in a class of its own. Being able to soak in a high-quality Onsen and relax right by Kyoto Station was truly appreciated—I felt lighter afterward. If possible, I would love it if the morning hours could start one hour earlier, at 5:30, so guests can enjoy a morning bath before heading out.

    I stayed here to do ...

    I stayed here to do some sightseeing in Kyoto the day after watching the Koshien games and the Osaka Grand Sumo Tournament. I was drawn to the Onsen and had made a Reservation last year, looking forward to it ever since. As expected, both the Room (great view, just as requested!) and the baths were very comfortable. Breakfast was a lineup that truly felt “so Kyoto.” Everything was delicious, but I was especially impressed by the yudofu (tofu hot pot). I also bought the Hotel’s original plum-flavored pickles as a souvenir. I’d love to stay again. Thank you very much.

    Disappointing

    I stayed at the accommodation to spend New Year's Eve leisurely, but I was disappointed. Upon entering the room and opening the closet, I found stains resembling food spills on the yukata jacket, which immediately put me in a bad mood. Dinner service was delayed, taking nearly three hours to complete the meal, and the long wait left me exhausted. The next morning's breakfast also required writing down our name and number of people at the entrance and waiting for a table. It was my first time experiencing such a wait like at a family restaurant during a trip, which surprised me. While I understand that the hotel was likely struggling to manage near-full occupancy, my goal of spending New Year's Eve peacefully was not achieved, leaving me disappointed.

    A Family Trip: One Night, Two Days

    The food was delicious and plentiful. The yudofu served at breakfast was especially tasty. Additionally, the Room, hallways, and large public bath were all kept impeccably clean, allowing for a comfortable stay. I would love to stay here again.

    A private retreat for couples

    We enjoyed a trip together as a couple after a long time. The thoughtful hospitality of the people in Kyoto truly touched us. We were able to relax and enjoy the spacious bath. Thank you so much for your wonderful care! The sukiyaki set meal and obanzai were absolutely fantastic!

    A one-night stay with breakfast from Sunday, close to the station and featuring an Onsen, is perfect!

    I enjoyed the Onsen in the large public bath twice, at night and the following morning. Although it was a bit chilly before soaking in, once I got in, my skin felt smooth and warm thanks to the Onsen, and I didn’t feel cold afterward. The men’s and women’s large public baths alternated locations between morning and evening, but their structures were identical except for different wall paintings. There were no skincare products like lotion provided in the Room, but the large public bath had shared cleansing oil, face wash, lotion, and moisturizer available. I didn’t include dinner with my stay and opted to eat at a nearby restaurant instead. The breakfast served the next morning was Japanese-style with curry, four types of mini bread rolls, juice options from a drink bar—and it was very delicious! Being just a 5-minute walk from Kyoto Station with an Onsen is truly fantastic. A humidifier with air purification function was also provided in the Room for excellent protection against dryness.

    I stayed in November. The accommodation is conveniently located near Kyoto Station, making it ideal for sightseeing. I was able to leave my luggage before check-in, which made exploring the area much easier. The onsen was spacious and provided a relaxing experience to unwind after a long day—truly an excellent facility. I would love to stay here again. An accommodation with an onsen so close to the station is truly wonderful. The room was clean, bright, and comfortable. Thank you for everything!

    Conveniently located near the station. The front desk staff had a calm demeanor, giving a welcoming hotel atmosphere. Unfortunately, while there were hangers in the room, there was no space to hang them.

    Friendly service

    We received a call the day before regarding our accommodation details, and they kindly arranged a taxi for early morning sightseeing and even saw us off. Their hospitality was exceptional, and we are truly grateful. We would love to stay again.

    A hotel with a beautiful Onsen in a newly renovated building

    The only Hotel in Kyoto with an Onsen, conveniently located near the station. The renovated building is beautiful and clean. I stayed in a twin Room at a reasonable price and was very satisfied. If I may add, it would have been even better if fresh Onsen water was always flowing into the bath from the spout. During my three-day stay, it was not flowing whenever I used it—perhaps for conservation?

    We chose this hotel ...

    We chose this hotel based on our family's preference for a large public bath. The facilities within the hotel, including the natural onsen and changing rooms, were very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious, and the staff were incredibly kind, making our stay very pleasant. It was such a wonderful hotel that we would love to stay here again! Thank you very much.

    Family Trip

    Thank you for your continued patronage and for choosing to stay with us again this time. The Hotel is conveniently located near Kyoto Station, and the onsen, which has a slightly silky texture, is truly wonderful. My uncle especially enjoyed it. Since the room has its own onsen, we ended up bathing multiple times and requested additional towel sets. However, the special room towels were not delivered... This time, we just used what was available as it felt troublesome to follow up further, but after experiencing soft Imabari towels before, it was a bit disappointing. That said, due to the excellent location of the Hotel and the amazing onsen experience, we have already made a reservation for August and are looking forward to our next stay!

    Morning Service at Chishaku-in Temple

    Taking a taxi at 5:20 AM and gathering at 5:40 AM, the morning service at Chishakuin was a refreshing and wonderful experience. The Onsen was excellent, and the Room was spacious with well-equipped amenities, allowing for a relaxing stay.

    Kyoto Onsen

    I stayed here for the Nijo Castle Tea Ceremony and had a very relaxing time. The morning service at Chishakuin Temple and the breakfast were wonderful. I truly appreciate the courteous assistance provided upon departure. Although it was a trip with three women, having an Onsen made it unexpectedly relaxing and heartwarming. Thank you very much!

    I visited for my own relaxation.

    Conveniently located near Kyoto Station, I visited to relax and rejuvenate. With the souvenir option, I was able to choose one item from about 10 options and selected a chocolate that had caught my eye before. The Room was moderately clean, and complimentary snacks were provided, which made me happy. Amenities were plentiful both in the Room and in the bathroom's cosmetic area, including hair ties and brushes, which was a thoughtful service. However, the slippers were uncomfortable due to their stiff material. A humidifier was available (though I had requested it beforehand so I'm unsure if it's standard), which was helpful for someone with asthma like me. I chose a less crowded time for the bath and enjoyed it at my own pace; however, there were two disappointing points: 1) Many foreign guests seemed unaware of proper bathing etiquette—at least washing themselves partially before entering the tub would be appreciated. 2) Smartphones were brought into the bath area despite current global concerns about privacy issues. While no photos appeared to be taken as far as I observed, simply bringing phones into such spaces is problematic and should be strictly prohibited. As for meals, while taste wasn't an issue, staff served refills of miso soup and rice instead of allowing self-service like drinks—which felt inconsistent. It also made requesting specific portions awkward or embarrassing at times. Perhaps this is due to accommodating international guests? A self-service system might feel more user-friendly. This was my first visit but left me wanting to return again someday; hopefully these areas can see improvement!

    The entire building

    When it comes to Onsen in Kyoto, this Hotel is the place. I was very satisfied. The design of the bath was also wonderful. There was an open-air bath where I could relax and soak for a long time. It is close to the station, with a convenience store and Isetan nearby, making it very convenient. Above all, the staff were excellent. Thank you for your consideration of the Room. I am grateful. Even the cleaning staff at the bath were kind and gentle, which was soothing. I stayed twice in one week.

    Staying at Hatoya wi...

    Staying at Hatoya with an Onsen in Kyoto during the midwinter was truly the right choice. The bed in the room was satisfactory, but it was a bit compact and cramped, and the futon was thin and hard, which was unfortunate. However, both the room and the large public bath were well-cleaned, allowing for a pleasant stay. The station is within walking distance, and with Isetan nearby, there were no issues with dining or shopping; I would like to use it again.

    The bath was excellent!

    The Onsen was a blessing for my tired body after sightseeing. Unfortunately, there was only one towel provided, and the small towel was thin and not absorbent, making it difficult to use. The plastic bag labeled for towels to take to the Onsen was too small to fit a bath towel, so I ended up carrying it by hand. Changing clothes also posed some inconvenience due to this. Other than that, the breakfast was very delicious, everything was clean, and the location of the Hotel is excellent!
