    Mother-and-daughter trip

I finally brought my daughter, who had been wanting to visit for a long time. The IKYU Diamond benefit was alcohol, but the staff member who showed us to our Room kindly asked if alcohol was okay. Since we don’t drink, they changed it to a non-alcoholic option, and we enjoyed it very much. Thank you. The hot spring water quality was as wonderful as ever, and the Room was clean and relaxing. The meals were delicious with a nice variety of changes, and they even took photos for us at the end—making it a very satisfying trip. We would love to visit again.

    It was amazing!

We were blessed with beautiful weather, and the wonderful views and warm hospitality were truly soothing. It was amazing. I’m not comfortable with there being no door on the toilet, so I rated the Facility 4, but I heard there are Rooms with a door—next time I’ll check properly and choose a Room with a toilet door! For this price, this level of satisfaction is outstanding!!

    Unbelievable.

The facilities are not bad, but it was disappointing that there were no complimentary soft drinks in the Room, unlike the Onsen Hotel I stayed at previously. Dinner was also very average in both ingredients and taste, so nothing memorable. Most shockingly, we realized we were being monitored by a security camera outside the window while we were naked washing our faces and using the toilet. This is completely unacceptable. After being unclothed in the toilet for some time, I noticed for the first time that a security camera had been installed. The camera could capture the inside of the Room through the window, yet there was no prior notice to guests and no warning to keep the toilet curtain closed. I consider this a serious invasion of privacy, as it amounts to filming private moments without consent.

The Star Room is highly recommended.

I had trouble choosing a Room, but I’m glad I chose Hoshi. It’s located at the very back and at the highest point, and it felt more private than the other Rooms. The Onsen water felt like toner, so I went in many times. However, perhaps because the highway is nearby, the sound of cars carried more than I expected—that was the only unexpected part. Still, they said this Room is at the very back, so it’s one of the quieter ones. The lounge was also closer than I expected, and I used it several times. Thank you very much.

This time, I chose a different room, and each has its own unique charm, which was very satisfying. The name "Kaze no Mori" truly lives up to the word "wonderful." Not only the room but also the lounge and dining area reflect thoughtful attention to detail throughout. The only minor point, as I mentioned last time, is that being close to the highway means you can occasionally hear cars passing by. However, even with that, it remains a truly relaxing space. I hope it doesn't become too famous and affect the quality of this accommodation.

    Very satisfying Hotel.

This hotel offers the highest level of quality in its Onsen, meals, room arrangements, and staff hospitality. Located in the forest, it is very quiet, and the Onsen is silky smooth and exceptional. Guest information is shared among all staff members to ensure prompt assistance whenever needed. It surpasses even other highly-rated accommodations I have stayed at recently. I definitely want to visit again!

The bathroom floor was slippery and felt unsafe. The seasoning of the food did not suit my taste.

I stayed here for a maternity trip!

I stayed with the Maternity Plan. I was very grateful for the thoughtful preparations, such as a body pillow for sleeping, cream to prevent stretch marks, and non-caffeinated tea. The meals were also delicious! I appreciated that the sashimi was replaced with simmered fish. There was a caterpillar on the floor of the open-air bath, but since it’s in the forest, it’s understandable (ФωФ). The water was silky smooth and felt amazing! In the lounge, only coffee and tea were available for free; it would be nice if there were more options.

This was my second stay. The bath and the Room were excellent again this time. However, although the season has changed since my last visit, the meal content felt almost the same, which was a bit disappointing. Even though there wasn’t much variation, the food was still delicious as always. The staff's hospitality was very polite and exceptional. I would love to visit again if I have another opportunity.

The Importance of Hospitality and Cleanliness

The customer service needs to be fundamentally improved. The bath is shockingly filthy. Please review everything as a high-class Ryokan.

    Kaze no Mori Tsuki

We visited for the first time as a couple after finding it on IKYU.com and thinking it looked great. The reviews were excellent, and our expectations were exceeded. We had a very relaxing and extraordinary one-night, two-day stay. The sauna, priced at 7,700 yen for 90 minutes, was worth more than its cost in satisfaction. It was such a special accommodation that we can't wait to return soon.

A slightly disappointing but satisfying accommodation

Enjoy a pleasant stay surrounded by nature. Although it is said to be natural hot spring water, the flow is limited, so guests are asked to turn off the faucet when not in use (not fully free-flowing). Despite informing them about avoiding marbled Wagyu beef, heavily marbled Wagyu was served, which was surprising (I could only eat one piece). The meal is recommended for those who enjoy steak.

    A slight deduction.

The seating was a floor chair, so if it had been a sofa, I would have given the highest rating. The outdoor area was very satisfying.

    Unique Accommodation

This was my first time staying in Saga, and I chose this accommodation. The facility is thoughtfully designed, and you can feel the attention to detail throughout. While unique ryokans are not uncommon these days, I was surprised to hear that this one has been around for over 20 years. Overall, it deserves a passing grade; however, here are some reasons why I didn't give it a perfect score: 1. The need to use carts for transportation and the completely outdoor open-air bath may require consideration of the season. 2. The room lighting was generally dim, which might be inconvenient for those with presbyopia (the labels on light switches were hard to see). 3. There was no lighting outside the entrance of the room, making it difficult to insert keys; my wife even tripped on the stairs due to poor visibility. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful—they even recommended spots for our next destination—making our stay enjoyable overall.

    Thank you for your hospitality.

We used the Maternity Plan. It was a quiet place, and the room was clean and spacious, allowing us to relax. My husband enjoyed taking multiple dips in the Onsen. Thank you for providing a cushion during meals and for your various attentions. The rice we had for breakfast was especially delicious! We were able to spend a wonderful time together before childbirth. Thank you for taking care of us.

    Sauna is the best!

I was satisfied with the room, the private bath, the meals, and the staff's service, but the newly built sauna was astonishing! Since my reservation was in the evening, if I have the chance to go again, I would like to experience it when it is lit up at night. (It was a bit disappointing that wood chips were scattered and got into the seams of the mat(?) laid out for relaxation, but even so, the sauna was impressive!)

    The hot water is wonderful.

Surrounded by the forest, we enjoyed the guest room's open-air bath in a wonderful space. The water was silky, and I feel like I spent most of my time in the bath. The indoor bath was also silky, and it was great to cool down in the lukewarm indoor bath after getting dizzy in the outdoor bath! The spray-type lotion in the amenities suited my skin very well, but I forgot to note the brand... The drinks in the lounge and the items in the refrigerator were very appreciated as all-inclusive. It would be great if you could offer such a plan, as all-inclusive stays are becoming popular recently. The meal was just the right amount for my husband, who eats very little, so it might be better to upgrade for those who eat more. The server was very friendly and nice, but the staff at check-in seemed to be a newcomer?? I was a bit concerned about the awkwardness. Since it is a luxury property, I think it would be better to serve with a more confident demeanor.

The ultimate healing Stays where you can spend time quietly, but...

Wonderful Points 1. Everything from furnishings, buildings, to tableware is clean and tasteful. 2. You can enjoy a quiet private time without meeting many other guests. 3. The staff greet you with a smile and are courteous. Points for Improvement 1. White dust and debris had accumulated at the edge of the fabric single-seater chair in the Room. 2. When going to meals or checking out, you had to call the staff and move by cart. Even though breakfast was at the earliest at 9 AM, you had to wait in the Room until after 9:10 AM for the cart to arrive. 3. The dinner was extremely delicious, but by the time the final white rice was served, it was already cold and a bit hard. 4. It would have been even better if there was a private open-air bath. 以上

    Stays to Enjoy Onsen Leisurely

The atmosphere and furnishings of the Stays were elegant and very lovely. The flames in the fireplace at the front desk and lounge feel very warm in the chilly season. It was just the season for autumn leaves, and the foliage around the detached Room was very beautiful. The meals were also very delicious. Depending on the proximity to a main road or highway, or perhaps the location of the Room, when you are in the open-air bath, you can inevitably hear the sound of cars along with the chirping of birds. If you are concerned about this, it might be better to carefully consider the location of the Room. I wasn't particularly bothered, but without that sound, I might have been able to enjoy the quiet atmosphere of nature even more. There are no convenience stores nearby, so basically, you will rely on the lounge snacks and meals at the Stays, so please be aware of that. It is closer from Ureshino Onsen than from Takeo Onsen, so please keep that in mind as well. Overall, it was a very wonderful Stays.

The thoughtfulness of the butlers is delightful.

This was my second stay. The silky hot spring is excellent, but I always feel that the butlers' thoughtfulness is wonderful. This time, on the way to the property, I purchased two bottles of Nabeshima at Taguri Sake Shop, and asked for delivery at the property. They packed them in a box specifically for bottles, which was very helpful. I heard that a sauna is under construction, so I would like to visit again.

    The meals were wonderful.

The quantity was moderate, and the variety was excellent. They made good use of ingredients from Saga. I had sent a bottle of champagne in advance to enjoy in the room, and it was prepared in a champagne cooler upon arrival. I stayed in a room type called "Ryo," and I think it would have been even better if there was a chair in addition to the daybed-like long bench.

    I have visited Takeo...

I have visited Takeo Onsen several times and was looking forward to this trip. I was excited to stay at Kaze no Mori, where all rooms are separate cottages. Upon entering, the front desk was right in front of me, and I was surprised by how small it was. We were served welcome cold tea in a lobby-like area with many chairs right next to it. We took a golf cart to the separate cottage in the mountains. I found it slightly inconvenient to have to call a cart for transportation every time we wanted to have a meal. As expected, during dinner time, we had to wait 10 minutes because there were only two carts available. The separate cottage room felt like a campsite cabin, lacking any sense of luxury. It was nice, but disappointing. There was a large open-air bath standing outside the big window. Hmm, it takes courage to enter during the day! The indoor bath was spacious and had glass walls, giving a semi-open-air bath feeling, so I mostly used that one. The quality of the spring water was excellent, with a silky smooth texture that felt great. However, the indoor bath was large and extremely slippery. Although I was informed about this during the explanation, there were no handrails. Nowadays, even ordinary homes have proper handrails. I slipped several times and submerged up to my head. Elderly people would need to be extremely cautious to avoid serious accidents. I entered the outdoor open-air bath at night when it was dark, but there were many insects. I bathed with various bugs. My daughters, who are not fond of insects, would have screamed, but my husband and I laughed as we were surrounded by grasshoppers, stink bugs, geckos, and moths. Since it's in the mountains, it's understandable, but in the morning, there were quite a few ants indoors, which was unpleasant. As for the bathroom, it was spacious and convenient, but the toilet was in the same room, with no lock, and the large window was visible from the terrace. I couldn't relax at all. There was also a lounge, but I was told that charges apply for anything other than coffee and tea. It was disappointing that it wasn't all-inclusive. At other inns, it was all-inclusive, so we enjoyed sampling local sake and wine, and if we liked them, we bought them as souvenirs. The staff were all very friendly, polite, and made us feel comfortable.
