    The meals were outst...

    The meals were outstanding. Dinner met our expectations, and breakfast exceeded them. The vegetables, in particular, looked beautiful and tasted great. The Room was charming, and the bath was spacious and wonderful.

    Your First Stay at Primavera

    I arrived early and they kindly stored my luggage, and from that moment until I left, the warm and welcoming service truly touched me. The French-style Room was charming and tastefully decorated, so I can see why the Reviews are rated so highly. And the breakfast served in the Room was absolutely delicious—I was thrilled! Everything was carefully prepared, and I especially remember the oval-shaped potatoes that were hollow inside. The potage soup and salad were also very tasty. I would love to stay at Primavera again—it’s a place where you can truly relax from the heart.

    A Wonderful Hidden Retreat

    Thank you for a wonderful two-night stay. All the staff welcomed us warmly, and at check-in we were treated to welcome drinks of amazake and soy milk. The Room was lovely, the bath was spacious, and the sauna—where we could set the temperature to our liking—was very relaxing. We were able to enjoy a slow, luxurious time. The canelés prepared for us were also delicious. Breakfast was excellent and very filling. The menu changed each day, and both the hot and cold dishes were beautifully presented—we truly enjoyed them. We also received drink tickets, and at the wonderful on-site sake bar they made us non-alcoholic options such as an amazake sherbet drink. We enjoyed hearing stories about sake as well as about Karuizawa’s wildlife. Just one thing: until after 9:00 p.m. on the second night, and again from a little after 6:00 a.m. on the third morning for a while, loud thumping footsteps going back and forth echoed continuously—it was so persistent that we debated whether to mention it. The murmuring spring water stream within reach from the first-floor terrace was beautiful as well, but next time we stay, I may ask about booking a second-floor Room type instead. Also, it would be appreciated if hot water were available at the washbasin. It’s conveniently close to both the station and Old Karuizawa’s streetscape, so if we stay in Karuizawa again, we would love to stay here next time too.

    Looking forward to a new beginning

    I visited again after a long time. With the recent renovation, I stayed overnight and had dinner for the first time. The atmosphere and high level of hospitality were just as I remembered from 6–12 years ago, which felt nostalgic and left me very satisfied. I understand the owner has also changed and this marks a new beginning. As a senior guest, I look forward to seeing how you will evolve by blending traditional, nostalgic cuisine with innovative dishes for the next generation. I’m excited to see your memorable food and hospitality continue.

    We stayed in a Room that allowed small dogs. Although it was unfortunately raining that day, we were warmly welcomed, and the welcome drink was delicious. Thank you very much. The Room had an antique style with gentle and charming wall light illumination. And the breakfast was absolutely delicious! The smiles of the staff were also very comforting. Thank you for the wonderful memories. We would love to visit again!

    Experience nature.

    The room is thoughtfully designed with a focus on interior details, and even the colors of the small furnishings are harmonized beautifully. From the room, you can see a courtyard with a small stream, where the soothing sound and birds bathing in the water create a relaxing atmosphere. The staff were kind, making the stay enjoyable and comfortable.

    Our Home in Karuizawa

    Fell in love at first sight through the photos. For us, a couple who lived abroad for a long time, the atmosphere of Karuizawa and Primavera was simply nostalgic and calming. The warm hospitality of the staff matched perfectly with the detailed excellence of the Room, making our stay very comfortable. We would love to visit again with our beloved dog.     From the warm welcome at check-in to the heartfelt farewell at check-out, everything was handled with great care, making for an exceptionally comfortable stay. The service, Room, and breakfast were all truly wonderful. I would love to stay here again.

    The new and clean Ro...

    The new and clean Room provided a comfortable sleep. Enjoying sake while feeling the pleasant night breeze was delightful, and the illuminated scenery was stunning. The next morning, we took a walk to Kumoba Pond. Thanks to this experience, we had a relaxing time. As the restaurant was under renovation, Pyrenees, just a 3-minute walk away, was also great; however, next time we look forward to dining at the auberge!

    Excellent!

    Despite our late arrival, we were warmly welcomed! We even received a welcome drink, and when our child accidentally broke a glass, the staff showed concern for the child's safety. It was a very heartwarming experience, and we would love to stay at this Hotel again when visiting Karuizawa! Thank you so much!

    The breakfast is amazing! A charming auberge you'll want to stay at again.

    Karuizawa during Obon. After much deliberation on where to stay, we found availability here by chance, and it was conveniently close to the station, so we made a reservation. The result? Absolutely perfect!! A room for four of us as a family. The facility has just been renovated. We chose a loft-style room. The room was clean and very tidy. The first floor had high ceilings, creating a pleasant space. The loft was spacious enough for elementary school kids to stand up without issue, and the large sofa bed comfortably slept two people. The room's atmosphere matched the photos—European or French-inspired? It featured furnishings typical of an auberge with luxurious paintings displayed throughout. Currently, the restaurant is under renovation and not operating; however, the bar was open for service. We only peeked in since we had children with us, but it had an excellent ambiance—we definitely want to visit next time! The welcome drink served at check-in was delicious and raised our expectations. Breakfast was included in our plan and served in our room. It featured dishes using plenty of fresh vegetables from Karuizawa. Both quantity and taste were highly satisfying. In particular, the truffle-infused egg dish was exquisite—a must-try! Additionally, bread from Asanoya Bakery was provided—a delightful touch since Asanoya often has long lines during summer. There’s also a table set on the terrace where you can enjoy breakfast outdoors. Despite being close to the station, it felt like being deep in nature—the sound of flowing water paired perfectly with Mikado Coffee. We never realized such accommodation existed until now! While it’s small-scale compared to hotels (lacking shops or leisure facilities), everything necessary is provided for a comfortable stay. Our kids enjoyed watching YouTube or Amazon Prime Video on TV—it really helped! This facility is ideal for spending quiet and relaxing time in Karuizawa. All staff members were incredibly warm-hearted—it felt so welcoming. We would love to stay here again when visiting Karuizawa next time! Thank you very much!

    It's like being in Provence!

    The access from Karuizawa Station was convenient, and it was within walking distance from Old Karuizawa Ginza, making it very convenient. The room was filled with furniture that evoked the atmosphere of Paris and Southern France, making it pleasant to look at, and the space was spacious and lovely! I enjoyed a relaxing aroma bath in the European-style bathtub and relaxed on the fairy-tale-like bed. The view of the pond from the balcony was also soothing... The amenities were very well-equipped, which made me happy. After dinner, I enjoyed various sake and cocktails recommended by the famous bartender, a sake sommelier, at the attached "Onza Bar." It was only a one-minute walk (!) from the bar to the room, so even in the middle of winter, I didn't have to worry about getting cold. The next day, I enjoyed lunch at the sister restaurant, Pirenee, which I had reserved. The Black Angus beef grilled in the restaurant's proud fireplace was fragrant, and the pasta with shiso and meat sauce was refreshing and delicious. The appetizer buffet had a wide variety of dishes, such as carpaccio, terrine, and gratin, all of which paired well with wine. It was also nice that I could easily get seconds even after the main course arrived. The staff were very kind, and I had a comfortable stay. I came this time to enjoy the New Year, but I would like to come again during a milder season.
