A calm, welcoming space with warm hospitality

I stayed for one night and used the Shuttle Service from Atami Station. From check-in to check-out, I truly felt treated as a valued guest at all times. Both dinner and breakfast were generous in portion, featuring menus that highlighted local ingredients, and I was very satisfied. The open-air bath in the Room was wonderful, and the Room itself was simple, clean, and comfortable. I also loved the selection of items in the in-room refrigerator. Personally, I found the layout—from the open-air bath to the shower room, then to the changing area, and into the Room—very easy to use. I would definitely like to stay again!

    Highly recommended!

A beautiful, charming small Hotel with a hidden-gem feel. With its quiet, relaxing atmosphere, excellent staff service, and wonderful meals, I have stayed here multiple times.

    A relaxing Accommodation.

I visited last autumn and had such a wonderful stay that I returned in a different season. As always, this Accommodation offers service with just the right level of attentiveness and very quiet Rooms—perfect for adult guests. Also, perhaps because each Room has its own Onsen, I was able to fully relax without repeatedly running into other guests in the public bath or sauna. The presentation, quality, and portion sizes of the meals were all at an exceptionally high level, and I was very satisfied. If I may share one request, I felt the breakfast salad portion could be about half the size. I also thought it would be nice to have a towel refresh during turndown service in the Room. It was unfortunate that we couldn’t enjoy the views from the Room or lounge due to bad weather, but this is definitely one of those Accommodations that makes you want to return again.

Availability of the complimentary drink service period

At check-in, we were informed that complimentary drinks and aperitifs would be available in the lounge from 17:00 to 19:00, so we went a little before 18:00. However, by then the champagne service had already ended, and there were no aperitifs available. Since there was no prior notice that quantities were limited, we assumed that a consistent level of service would be provided throughout the stated hours. We also heard that there had been live music as well, although it had already finished. We understand that limited quantities may be unavoidable, but if the offerings can vary depending on what time guests visit, this should be explained more clearly in advance. A few additional points: check-in took far too long. Even though it was past check-in time, we were unable to use the sauna. The Diamond benefit gift was forgotten. The staff member assisting us did not smile even once. The food was delicious and the live music was great, which made it all the more disappointing—this could have been a truly wonderful Hotel.

The service was attentive down to the smallest details.

The piano performances were truly memorable. I had the chance to enjoy the beautiful sound up close twice—at check-in and again at dinner—and it left me feeling calm and relaxed. Hearing my favorite Bach pieces was especially uplifting. In the evening, I was able to unwind in the Bay View Salon. I enjoyed drinks and had fun playing games. Dinner was excellent from the amuse-bouche to dessert, and I was able to savor each dish at a leisurely pace. It was very helpful that the large public bath is available from 5:00 a.m. I also really appreciated having a gym on-site. From 6:00 a.m., I could do running, cycling, and weight training. Drinks were provided in both the public bath area and the gym, which made everything very comfortable. It was also great to have an observation area where I could relax at my own pace. Every staff member spoke politely, allowing me to spend my time feeling peaceful throughout my stay.

What defines a truly accomplished auberge?

A wonderful Atami auberge in a great location. I don’t think it used to be available, but now they offer a Shuttle Service between Atami Station and the Hotel, so even the tough route up to the Hotel isn’t an issue. Needless to say, an auberge is an Accommodation where you come to enjoy the food. The cuisine is outstanding and truly enjoyable. The staff are all excellent as well. However, I had a few issues with the Room. After my stay, I couldn’t help wondering why the Room checks seem so lax despite having such great staff overall. You’d notice it quickly if you spent even a little time relaxing in the Room. The biggest issue was that the pillow smelled bad—like one from a Business Hotel. It was honestly unsettling to end such an amazing meal with that kind of pillow. Other issues were visible dark buildup on the air conditioner louvers and that the Onsen was far too hot. I understand guests are expected to adjust the temperature by adding water, but if you want to enjoy free-flowing hot spring water, your only option is to cool it down first. In summer it doesn’t cool easily, and there was no valve to reduce the flow of hot spring water—so in the end I had no choice but to dilute it with water. Taking personal preferences into account, it’s rare to find an auberge where everything is perfect. Still, this place has real potential: simply revisiting housekeeping could dramatically raise its overall quality. That’s how I felt—and what I hope for.

    First-time guest

My wife and I stayed at Grand Bach Atami. Since it was renovated two years ago, the property and the Room were very clean, and the open-air bath was comfortable—we were very satisfied. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, and the staff were courteous, making our stay relaxing. We would like to visit again.

    An Accommodation with exceptional hospitality

From reception to the restaurant team and even the housekeeping staff, everyone was so kind—this was an Accommodation where we felt truly at home. The amenities were from an eco-friendly botanical brand. Everything in the refrigerator was complimentary, and even a half bottle of white wine was replenished every day. When we returned from going out, delicious daily treats—such as chocolate and vegan cookies—were prepared in our Room, and we were genuinely surprised and moved by such thoughtful service. In Atami, we used to have two regular places under a sister brand, but this time, when we had to cancel our original Okinawa plans due to a typhoon, both of our usual Accommodations were fully booked. In the end, it was lucky that we discovered this place. Just one thing: For us in our late 50s, having French cuisine for three nights in a row felt a bit heavy, so next time we plan to make the middle night No Meals Included. For guests staying three nights or more, it would be wonderful if there were a special mid-stay menu option that includes steamed white rice. Breakfast was fantastic—the coarse-ground pork sausage was so juicy that I still can’t forget how delicious it was. We would definitely love to stay again.

    Excellent.

This was our family’s first stay, and it was wonderful. With my birthday coming up the following week, we happened to mention it at check-in, and they surprised me at dinner with live music and a dessert—plus sweets as a gift—to celebrate! We hadn’t informed them in advance about the Reserver, so I was truly touched by the surprise. Thank you very much. All of the staff were professional—from guiding our car on arrival to explaining the Hotel, as well as the lounge and restaurant teams—and they made our stay comfortable from start to finish. The housekeeping staff also greeted us warmly. The Facility was just as beautiful as in the photos, and everything—from the amenities to the in-room sweets and beverages—was thoughtfully selected, which really conveyed their hospitality. The restaurant meals for both breakfast and dinner were vibrant, uncompromising, and absolutely delicious. I was genuinely impressed by this top-class Accommodation. We will definitely return. Thank you again.

    Atami’s hidden gem???

This was our first stay for five of us—our eldest daughter, our eldest son and his wife, and the two of us. We drove there, but from the Izusan intersection it was a steep, winding uphill road. We kept wondering, “Is there really a museum here? A golf course?” and finally arrived at the Hotel. The warm welcome from the staff immediately put us at ease. After climbing all that way, the view was truly outstanding!\nAfter check-in, we loosened up on the treadmill and then enjoyed the complimentary drinks. Later we had a French dinner; dishes made with local ingredients looked as delicious as they tasted. They also brought out a birthday cake for our son.\nThe in-room bath is true free-flowing hot spring water—you have to add water to be able to get in—and it left our skin silky smooth! It was such a treat to be able to enjoy an Onsen again first thing in the morning. Breakfast afterward was filling too, with plenty of local vegetables and regional ingredients.\nMany of the staff were friendly while still being very attentive. If the chef came around to greet tables, I think even more guests would become fans. It was disappointing that the shop only carried expensive items.

We had a very comfortable stay.

The view from the Room was wonderful, and I was able to relax in the view bath. For dinner, we chose the main dish at check-in. I had a hard time deciding while looking at the tablet. The staff were very attentive, and I had a pleasant stay accompanied by the sound of piano music. Dinner was delicious and a feast for the eyes as well. It’s become a place I’d love to visit again.

    Parking Location

Thank you very much for your help during our stay. This was our second visit, so we felt at ease; however, at checkout we had left our car key with you, and there was no confirmation about it. We had to ask from our side. We were also very disappointed that the car (which we left in the Hotel’s care) was parked directly under a pine tree, and after the previous day’s rain it ended up covered in pine sap. Regarding the key as well, perhaps communication between staff members did not go smoothly… It is disappointing.

A wonderful Hotel where you can enjoy a refined escape from the everyday.

I had long been curious about Hotel GrandBach Atami Crescendo. The Hotel was very quiet, with a gentle aroma in the air. The Room was also comfortable, and we were able to enjoy a calm, unhurried flow of time—an exceptional escape from everyday life. Thank you again for your thoughtful assistance at the time, including providing a stool and a shower chair for my parents’ Room. Since dinner at 6:00 p.m. feels a bit rushed, I would be happy if the lounge hours could start from 4:00 p.m., rather than 5:00–7:00 p.m. We truly looked forward to dinner. The setting was also wonderful—the spotless pure-white cotton sateen tablecloth and napkins (in the morning, were they linen-blend napkins?), as well as the hand towels—everything felt very pleasant. My elderly parents and my daughter finished the entire course! It was a bit too much for me in terms of portion size, but personally I especially loved—and found delicious—the gazpacho-style vegetable and fresh fish dish and the conger eel beignets. The seasoning was on the salty side, but I also enjoyed the amuse-bouche and the pressed sweetfish. Breakfast was generous as well, with both variety and great taste. For the selection menu, my daughter ordered every item, so we shared what I didn’t order among all of us. The roast beef and game sausage in particular were excellent. Also, although the staff serving our meals were young, their hospitality was outstanding. All four of us ordered different drinks with different menu combinations, yet everything was served correctly without needing to confirm with us—it felt wonderful and really showed their high level of hospitality. One point to note: there were two strands of tangled hair on the floor in our Room. Because of the carpet color it was hard to notice at first; we only found them after 5:30 p.m. We took photos, but since we cannot tell whether it was missed during cleaning or came from us (it may require finishing with adhesive tape rather than vacuuming alone), I’m sharing this simply for your reference. Overall we were very satisfied—even down to the farewell souvenirs—and this has become one of Hotels we would like to visit again. My father who loves Western cuisine especially said “The food was delicious!!” and seemed truly delighted, so we hope to return again in autumn.

My long-held wish has finally come true.

About 2–3 years ago, we had to cancel the day before due to a family member’s illness, which was very disappointing, but this time our long-held wish came true and we were able to stay. The meals made with carefully selected local ingredients were truly delicious; the live piano performances at check-in and during dinner were wonderful; the Room was clean and easy to use, with a private in-room bath fed directly from the hot spring source. We could even look down from the Room at Atami’s fireworks. Above all, thanks to the staff’s warm hospitality—the perfect sense of distance and their smiles—we were able to relax completely throughout our stay. We stay at various Accommodations every month, but discovering such a lovely Accommodation so close by in Atami (we live in Yokohama) has made us look forward to visiting again.

    It was very relaxing.

From the Accommodation’s name, I expected classical music to be playing all the time, but the live jazz performance at dinner was understated yet refined, and it was wonderful. Although our stay in Atami came after an unexpected mishap of being stuck on the Odoriko limited express for two hours, this time we chose not a Ryokan but a place where we could fully enjoy the superb view, delicious French cuisine, and abundant hot water. My only regret is that I didn’t have time to stop by the gift shop—I had some of your souvenir sweets and they were truly delicious. We were able to spend a quiet, luxurious time. Thank you very much for your thoughtful consideration of my husband’s food preferences.

    An Extraordinary Escape

A Western-style Onsen Facility perched on a mountain The moment you step into the lobby, the view opens out over Sagami Bay Soaking in the open-air bath in your Room while watching boats heading to Hatsushima, you’ll lose track of time The Rooms are spacious and well stocked with amenities What stands out most is the dining A French course dinner Every dish—prepared with seasonal ingredients and tailored to Japanese tastes—was excellent, enjoyed alongside sweeping views of Atami beyond the window The semi-custom breakfast was so good I ended up eating far too much The staff were attentive, and I was able to spend a truly relaxing time

We’ll be back again next year.

This was my second stay, and the service was excellent. The meals were outstanding. If I had to mention one thing, the pianist is a lovely, charming woman. She plays chord-based pieces well, but I’m not sure about her classical repertoire. I honestly feel that in the restaurant, simply playing regular background music would be sufficient without live piano performances. That said, the pianist is a wonderful woman who is very considerate. During this stay I encountered a large spider and a weasel, but I accepted it as part of staying at a Hotel surrounded by nature.

Insects in the Room and Bathroom

Overall, it was a very good Hotel, and the hilltop location offered a wonderful view, which was lovely. However, when we went to sleep at night, there was a large black insect in the futon, and for our child who hates bugs, it caused a panic. In the early morning, when we tried to take a bath, there was no hot water from the shower. When we contacted the front desk, they told us it wasn’t being used and asked us to use the shower and open-air bath in another Room, so we moved. However, that Room also had many small insects on the shower room floor. Around the open-air bath there were bees and beetles, and there were dead house centipedes and other insects in the tub as well, which made removal difficult. I assume that if someone is going to stay there, it will be cleaned in advance, but I wish they had checked that area before guiding us there. For our child who dislikes insects, it ended up being a frightening Hotel. It’s disappointing.

    Very satisfied

This stay was truly wonderful. I originally planned to stay for one night, but it was so comfortable that I decided on the spot to extend my stay by another night. First of all, the views from the room and the lounge were absolutely beautiful, and I never got tired of them no matter how many times I looked. During my stay, I experienced both sunny and rainy weather, and each had its own charm—I genuinely enjoyed both. In the morning, I woke up to birdsong and the gentle sound of Onsen water flowing. It was a luxurious and deeply relaxing time. I was moved by the tranquility and richness of nature—something that’s hard to find in the city. Breakfast also exceeded my expectations. The quality of the ingredients really came through, and each dish was carefully prepared. I was very satisfied. Most memorable of all were the staff. Everyone was incredibly kind, and it felt like their hospitality came from the heart rather than a script. Their warmth made my stay even more special. At checkout, I even received a lovely souvenir, which left me touched until the very end. I am completely satisfied with everything—the scenery, Onsen, meals, and especially the wonderful hospitality from all of you. I would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

    This is a comfortable Hotel.

While looking for an Accommodation around Atami or Izu Kogen that serves French cuisine for dinner, I found this Hotel with high ratings on IKYU and decided to stay. Because it is located on a fairly high hill, the views were excellent, and the cocktails enjoyed on the deck before dinner were outstanding. Dinner was also superb, and I enjoyed the wine pairing as well. Breakfast was among the best of any Hotel I have stayed at—especially the game-meat frankfurter, which was delicious. The in-Room Onsen was great too; however, I did wish there had been chairs on the deck so I could relax outside with a local craft beer. But since we stayed in a twin Room, it couldn’t be helped! I would definitely like to visit again soon.

We had a relaxing and unhurried stay.

We were able to enjoy breathtaking views from everywhere—the Room, the bath, and the terrace—and had a truly wonderful time. The meals were beautifully presented, and with the scenery as part of the experience, everything looked amazing and of course tasted delicious as well. I especially love spending time on the terrace before dinner in the evening; I usually enjoy watching the sun set from there. This time it was still too early in the season for sunset before dinner, and on our next Reservation dates it will likely already be dark by then. It may be a bit early to say, but we would love to visit again during a season when we can spend sunset time on the terrace. Our next stay in December will also celebrate our wedding anniversary, so we are very much looking forward to it. Thank you in advance.

    We had a wonderful time.

It was wonderful to spend time with my son and his wife again after so long. Thank you very much for your thoughtful arrangements regarding our dining table and the Hotel Shuttle Service. Delicious meals, an Onsen that warmed us through to the core, and the beautiful sound of the piano. We were able to refresh both body and mind. Next time, I would like to visit with my husband when we can see the fireworks.

    The Ultimate Relaxation

We were picked up at Atami Station and driven up to the hill. As we arrived, we found ourselves thinking, “So this is where it is.” The moment we stepped into the Hotel, a wonderful fragrance and live piano music created an elegant atmosphere. Everything was spotless, and the staff were genuinely pleasant and welcoming. Dinner was outstanding—creative French cuisine at its best. My wife and I agreed we will definitely come again. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

A wonderful Accommodation you’ll want to visit again!!

This was my first stay. Before arriving, I read some Reviews and felt a little worried, but once I visited, those concerns quickly disappeared. I am truly grateful for the warm hospitality of all the staff. Thanks to you, I was able to spend a very enjoyable and memorable time. The caramel popcorn you gave me when I was leaving was also delicious, and I felt your thoughtful care right to the end. Thank you for such a wonderful time. If I have the opportunity again, I would love to stay here again.

    Everything was simply outstanding.

We had lunch at “Ashinoko Terrace” in Hakone and then headed to the Hotel. We took a scenic route via places like Jukkoku Pass, and the sunny breaks were wonderful—overall, we were very satisfied as a sightseeing drive as well. The Hotel website made the directions seem a bit confusing, but we arrived smoothly using our navigation system. We left our car at the entrance, and a staff member parked it for us. In the Hotel lobby, we were welcomed with drinks; the three of us enjoyed champagne. Our Room had a full ocean view from a hill high enough that Atami Castle looked tiny. We could also clearly see Hatsushima, and it was a view unlike anything we’d seen before—our spirits instantly lifted. The Room was spacious even with three beds; we stretched out on the corner sofa and took a short break watching the large-screen TV. Before dinner, we had fun at an entertainment Facility with free drinks, playing games recommended by the staff, and then went to dinner. There was an extensive menu and everything was delicious. Dining with live piano music was something we had never experienced before—it can only be described as wonderful. The staff who explained each dish were impeccable in every gesture, and one of the younger team members even spoke about the chef’s passion for cooking, which genuinely moved us. Thank you very much. Back in our Room, we enjoyed a cypress bath while looking out at the trees outside. Then my daughter played the electronic piano provided in the Room while we listened and enjoyed all kinds of drinks packed into the refrigerator—more than enough to choose from. Our whole family truly enjoyed everything: the views, all of your wonderful staff, the Hotel Facilities, and especially the food (breakfast too—fruit smoothies and other gentle options that were easy on our stomachs). We would love to visit again if we have another opportunity. Thank you so much for such outstanding hospitality. The photo taken of us in the lobby has become a treasured keepsake as well—with heartfelt gratitude.

Anniversary stay—moved by the best hospitality we’ve ever experienced

We stayed here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Every year, around our anniversary weekend, we make a Reservation at an “aspirational Hotel” in the Kanto area or nearby. We don’t use any special Plan—we simply mention that it’s for our wedding anniversary. This time as well, after making the Reservation, a member of the Hotel’s reservations team surprised us with an offer: they could provide a complimentary small cake decorated with an anniversary message plate. Since we wouldn’t be able to finish a full-size celebration cake, we gladly accepted. At dessert time, in addition to the regular dessert, they brought out an adorable cake and a bouquet beautifully arranged in a box. I had planned to surprise my wife—but the Hotel staff ended up surprising me. On past anniversary stays elsewhere, it was standard for them to write a congratulatory message on the dessert plate. The most moving experience before this was at “F◯ Karuizawa,” where they presented us at checkout with our commemorative photo in a mount along with two roses. This time far exceeded that—both in surprise and emotion. We are seriously considering staying here every year for our wedding anniversary. The guest room with private Onsen was wonderful, as was the view from the room. As expected of an auberge-style property, the cuisine was outstanding, and the staff were extremely friendly. Another highlight was the 24-hour fitness gym fully equipped with barbells and dumbbells—something I really appreciated, since many “gyms” only have treadmills and exercise bikes. I’ve been deeply impressed by F◯ hospitality and have stayed at all F◯ brand properties except Tokyo and Jogashima. They are all high level; until now I considered F◯ to offer the best hospitality of any Hotel I’ve experienced. However, I felt that Grand Bach Atami Crescendo surpassed even that—purely my personal opinion.

It’s a good Hotel, but the meals may be a bit too elaborate.

This is a truly wonderful Hotel, with a great atmosphere, beautiful interior design, and live piano performances. If you are coming from Atami Station, the roads are narrow, so taking a taxi is recommended. The food ingredients and flavors were good, but personally I felt it could have been a bit simpler. There are no shops nearby, so it is quiet—an excellent Hotel for staying in and relaxing.
