  Relaxing

  This Ryokan felt surprisingly spacious and deep beyond what you’d imagine from the entrance. The Japanese-style room, with views of a waterfall and stream and the soothing sound of running water, was truly relaxing. When we went up to the third floor, there was a large hall, and in front of it a pond surrounded by forest. In any case, it was a quiet, calming place. Dinner was delicious for us—perfectly seasoned with rich dashi flavor. The selection of sake and wine was excellent as well, so we really enjoyed the drinks (even though we can’t drink much). It was fun talking with someone who holds a sake sommelier certification; they even let us taste a sake from a brewery in Yamagata that I used to drink long ago, which brought back fond memories and made me very happy. We had a relaxing and enjoyable day.

  Very satisfied

  This was my first stay. From the initial reception to the guidance, meals, and even the conversation with the person maintaining the garden early in the morning... I was completely satisfied with everything. Even without exploring Akizuki, I could fully enjoy the seasons, scenery, bath, and meals within the premises and had a relaxing time.

  Hospitality No.1

  This was our first Onsen trip at a Ryokan with my 2.5-year-old daughter who loves Onsen. The food and hospitality were truly impressive and wonderful! The hospitality was outstanding! It was unfortunate that the public bath was closed due to COVID-19, but the room had a luxurious private bath. However, it was disappointing that despite the good quality of the water, there were cobwebs and mold on the chairs. It wasn’t an old charming bath but rather an old and poorly maintained one, which made it hard to fully enjoy the Onsen experience. Other than that, everything else exceeded even five-star hotels in terms of exceptional service! Thank you very much!

  A Journey Before the Fresh Green Season

  This was my second stay at the accommodation. During my previous visit, I had a relaxing and peaceful time, and this time as well, I stayed in a different room that provided a calming atmosphere. I heard that each room has a unique design, and once again, I enjoyed staying in a charming and tasteful room. The staff's hospitality was excellent as always; their warm interactions made my stay even more pleasant. The meals were intricately prepared and enjoyable. When you find an accommodation you like, you want to visit repeatedly—this is exactly how I feel about Akizuki Seiryuan. During this visit, I noticed guests of all ages from children to seniors enjoying their time peacefully. You can feed the koi fish in the pond, and since the dining area faces the pond, you can enjoy beautiful views while dining. Thanks to the thoughtful arrangements by the staff, they turned off some lights so we could enjoy watching the illuminated pond during our meal. The attentive service provided by all staff members ensures an exceptional experience for every guest. If you're considering visiting somewhere special, this is definitely worth your time. I look forward to staying here again!

  It was a very nice accommodation.

  This accommodation had been on my mind for a long time, and it exceeded all expectations. First, walking through the garden to reach the detached room was a delightful experience as the garden was full of charm and beauty. The room was a simple Japanese-style room with ample space. It included an indoor Onsen bath with flowing hot spring water, which was perfectly sized for one person to enjoy comfortably. I used it multiple times until check-out. Both dinner and breakfast were served in a large hall overlooking another beautiful garden different from the one we walked through earlier—a truly luxurious experience. The meals were, of course, delicious as well. Although it rained throughout our stay, we still had a wonderful time thanks to this accommodation's offerings. Akizuki is not very large but is a charming castle town full of character. I would love to visit again in another season!

  Lost in thought

  The accommodation offers a serene atmosphere with picturesque views, making it the perfect place to relax. Each room seemed to have a unique view, inspiring me to stay in every room eventually. The service provided by the proprietress, hostess, and staff was exceptional. The meals were also highly satisfying. While the nights still carry a hint of chill in the air, this season is becoming more comfortable and makes this accommodation highly recommended. The wide age range of guests suggests that this accommodation is appreciated by people of all generations. I heard that autumn foliage is particularly beautiful here, but I also found the fresh greenery season captivating. The garden design reflects a respect for nature, and I look forward to visiting again soon.

  Recommended by a friend in Fukuoka, Akizuki! I came here by transferring trains from Shin-Kobe. The autumn leaves seemed a bit early, but the townscape and the warm atmosphere of the local people I interacted with were very nice. The Stays, of course, with the hospitality, Room, garden, koi, and cuisine, were all very satisfying. The overflowing hot spring water in the bath felt almost wasteful, allowing me to indulge in a very luxurious feeling. We are talking about coming again next year to challenge the autumn leaves once more.
