    A Pleasant Stay

    I was able to relax and enjoy the bath several times. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious and healthy.

    I’m not expecting perfection from a Hotel or Ryokan, but

    I found this Accommodation through YouTube and decided to stay here. Our Onsen trip started in despair with a forecast of cloudy skies turning to rain, but thanks to my “sunny-day luck,” we enjoyed clear blue skies. The walk around Chojabaru Wetland was refreshing and wonderful. We were also able to admire the Aso Five Peaks (the “Nirvana Statue”) from our Room balcony—something we had given up on—and even again the next morning. This is truly a lovely Accommodation, but please set the check-out time to 11:00. Even a 30-minute difference is significant. Also, I would like at least green tea, black tea, and Nescafé coffee provided in the Room.

    We stayed in a detac...

    We stayed in a detached guesthouse this time, and the Room was spacious, open, and very comfortable. The view of the five peaks of Mt. Aso from the Room was outstanding. The bath was large, with smooth spring water quality, and we were very satisfied. The meals, created using fresh ingredients, were all delicious. The bed and pillows were excellent as well, and we slept soundly. It’s a wonderful Accommodation with nothing to complain about.\nIf I had to mention anything, the Room didn’t warm up easily even when we turned the air conditioner temperature up quite high—perhaps due to its direction—and it would have been nice to have some furniture for storing clothes.

    Private Onsen Accommodation with Stunning Views

    There is a private semi-open-air bath with beautiful scenery. The meals are delicious, making it an accommodation worth staying at.

    Would visit again

    Stayed for one night. The Onsen was great! The room was comfortable. I chose Japanese cuisine for dinner, but it could be improved a bit more. Breakfast was delicious.

    A wonderful greenness accommodation

    We stayed at this accommodation on our way back from Mount Aso on September 24. We searched for a place to stay in the area and chose this one because of its good reviews. Upon researching, we found that "Spa Grines" means a place with abundant greenery, which perfectly describes this accommodation surrounded by lush trees. The greenery of the garden and mountains was truly soothing. Although there is no large public bath, each room in this cottage-style accommodation has its own open-air or semi-open-air hot spring bath with natural flowing water. It exceeded our expectations with its wonderful atmosphere. We chose the "Akane" room, which was spacious for two people and featured both a large indoor bath and an open-air bath. From the balcony of the room, we could see Mount Aso directly ahead. Despite cloudy skies and light rain that day, we were moved by glimpses of Mount Aso through breaks in the clouds. For dinner, we selected Japanese cuisine at "Hibari," which was within walking distance while wearing casual attire provided by the accommodation. The restaurant had a great ambiance and served delicious food. Breakfast was also delightful—a traditional Japanese meal served at an atmospheric restaurant within the hotel. They even offered boiled seasonal chestnuts as a complimentary service, which made us happy. The staff members were all men who were simple yet kind and friendly—leaving us with a positive impression overall. This is an accommodation we'd love to visit again during another season! While Hoshino Resort Kai Aso is located right next door, we're glad we chose this place instead. Next time, we'd like to try staying in a different type of room on a sunny day—and perhaps enjoy their Italian dinner as well! Thank you very much for such an enjoyable stay!

    A truly quiet hideaway

    Although the cloudy sky initially obscured the view of Aso upon arrival, I thoroughly enjoyed relaxing in the Onsen at the Hotel. I had a delicious dinner at Hibari, soaked in the Onsen again, and truly unwound. The next morning, the clouds cleared, revealing a beautiful view of Aso. I also enjoyed a delightful breakfast and had a wonderfully relaxing stay.

    Overall satisfied, but...

    Regarding meals, although it was mentioned that Bungo beef is the main feature, the explanation given referred to "wagyu from Oita Prefecture," which did not seem to be Bungo beef. If Bungo beef is not always provided, it might be better not to explicitly state "Bungo beef."

    The refrigerator is ...

    The refrigerator is empty, but beer, wine, ice cream, and more are available for purchase next to the front desk. There is no room service, so it might be helpful to highlight this option more. I wanted to enjoy coffee in the Room at my leisure, but since it's not included in the Room service, I had to go to the lounge next to the front desk, which was a bit inconvenient. I stayed for two nights but unfortunately couldn't enjoy the view due to bad weather. The Room was spacious and comfortable. The meals were delicious, so I would like to visit again!

    60th Class Reunion

    Four members of the same club reunited after decades. It was an environment where we could talk until late at night without worrying about others. The meals were just the right amount and delicious for both breakfast and dinner. The Onsen in the room was spacious enough for everyone to enjoy together. We would love to have another reunion here again.

    Highly Satisfied

    I stayed in the "Ai" room. It is rare to find accommodation in this area offering such a spacious room at the same price range. Both the indoor and open-air baths were large enough for 2-3 people to bathe together comfortably, and with a terrace available, it was a bath where you could enjoy taking breaks outdoors and want to stay in for hours. While walking to the Kurokawa Onsen area is difficult, it’s only a 10-minute drive, allowing you to enjoy onsen hopping in Kurokawa. The meals, both breakfast and dinner, were delicious Japanese cuisine made with plenty of local ingredients. Additionally, I was pleased that the prices for alcohol (especially sake), which are charged separately, were very reasonable for a ryokan. The service was also satisfying with just the right balance of attentiveness without being overly intrusive. With many trees on-site, I would love to visit again during the fresh green or autumn foliage seasons.

    The bath was excellent.

    Room with an open-air bath The indoor bath also faced the window, making it semi-open-air. The water was a bit hot, but it was not lukewarm, and it warmed the body well. The starry sky from the room was partially obstructed by tree branches, making it difficult to see in some areas, but the beautiful stars were visible, and the Aso mountains were very clearly visible. The staff were all men, quietly and elegantly serving coffee and lending books, making it a comfortable stay.

    Very good location t...

    Very good location to Oita Yabakei and Kumamoto Oguni Town as well as Aso. Nice environment with private indoor and outdoor onsens. Excellent front desk service. Dinner and breakfast were good. Yet, as we stayed for 2 nights, it will be better if the menu was completely different.
