    What a waste.

    The Room was spacious and clean, and the meals were great with a wide variety of small portions. Perhaps because there are many international guests, proper bathing etiquette for women was not well communicated, and the soup broth was too salty to eat, possibly adjusted to suit overseas guests. If it were clearly stated that both the meals and the baths are geared toward international guests, that would help; overall it was very good, so it felt like a missed opportunity. I also think the water level and temperature in the large public bath should be checked more frequently.

    Exceptional hospitality

    The hospitality was outstanding. Despite the reasonable price, dinner was served in a private room, and the staff providing service were excellent. I would like to stay here again when I visit Echigo-Yuzawa.

    Hot Spring Tour Accommodation

    While unloading our luggage from the car before check-in, a Hotel staff member came over and explained various things, but we were expected to carry our luggage to the Room ourselves. We booked a Room with an open-air bath, but there were so many different baths in the large public bath that we couldn’t try them all in one visit. In the end, even though we had an open-air bath, we only used it briefly. Inside the building there is a small game corner, an izakaya that stays open until late at night, and vending machines. The meals were very delicious, featuring a variety of kaiseki dishes made mainly with local ingredients. The made-to-order grilled shrimp with salt was also inexpensive and extremely tasty! The baths are split between the 6th and 7th floors, offering a great variety for bath-hopping, and it felt like an Accommodation where you can truly enjoy Onsen. Since lunch and late-night snacks can also be ordered via room service, this Accommodation is recommended for a Multiple Night Stay or even a short Onsen retreat.

    Forest bathing

    I chose this Accommodation on short notice, and it’s a place I’d like to visit again. I did not have dinner, so I rated it 3. The Onsen areas change depending on the time, so I used them three times—late afternoon, night, and morning. The Onsen on the 6th floor with a view of the forest was especially relaxing; I could hear insects chirping and soak at ease. I recommend going in the morning and late afternoon. Thank you very much.

    We stayed with our 10-month-old baby. Since we chose a Room with a private Onsen, we could relax and enjoy it at our own pace, and the large public bath also had a great variety, which we enjoyed. For dinner, they prepared a private dining room for us, and it was very helpful that we could use a baby bouncer. At the breakfast venue, there were baby chairs as well as table-equipped chairs like a Nemurira-style chair, so we were able to eat together with our child. The Facility feels somewhat dated, but the staff were very attentive, and I think families with children can stay comfortably. The steep slope at the Hotel entrance may be a bit tough for those using strollers.

    Cleaning

    In late May, I stayed in a Japanese-Western style room. Before I even stepped in and took off my shoes, I found several long hairs on the floor! My excitement for the stay instantly faded. I reported it to a female staff member who was still outside the door. Two male housekeeping staff came and cleaned the room for me. I still felt a bit uneasy afterward, but I thought their response was good. At dinner, the proprietress came to greet me and apologized about the incident, which made me feel their management system is properly in place, and my negative impression was mostly cleared. I also felt all of the staff were courteous; however, perhaps due to staffing shortages like everywhere else, I would have felt more comfortable if the changing area of the large public bath had been cleaned more frequently.

    We stayed with one adult and two children. Because we had a room with an open-air bath, my son was able to enjoy the Onsen without having to use the public baths. Dinner was also great, as the menu changed daily. We were satisfied because our children could enjoy the evening activities such as mochi-pounding and bingo.

    Each visit offers a new and unique experience.

    We visit this accommodation once or twice a year, intentionally choosing the off-season, driving from the city as a couple. During our recent stay, as reported in the news, Futaba temporarily closed its open-air baths to prioritize guest safety due to bear precautions. Although it was disappointing since Futaba's open-air baths are truly wonderful, this measure was not unique to Futaba but applied to most accommodations in Yuzawa Town. However!! Even without access to the open-air bath, our satisfaction level was at its peak!! Every time we visit, we are impressed by the high level of hospitality from the staff, the exceptional quality of meals, the comfort of private dining rooms for dinner, cleanliness throughout the facility, and the relaxing atmosphere of guest room open-air baths. We feel that there are very few hotels that surpass this one in these aspects. The staff always exude a warm atmosphere that feels like they genuinely want us to relax and enjoy ourselves rather than simply doing their job out of obligation. Both my husband and I find ourselves saying "I want to go back to Futaba" as soon as we get on the highway after checking out! Haha We look forward to visiting again for many years ahead. Please take care during peak seasons and keep up your great work!

    The open-air bath with a snowy view was amazing!

    We visited for the first time to spend New Year's with my partner. It started snowing upon our arrival, and the open-air bath was covered in snow, creating a very picturesque atmosphere. In the morning bath, we enjoyed soaking in the Onsen while overlooking the snowy townscape. Starting the year together, we were able to experience a heartwarming and serene ambiance.     The bath and meals were excellent!

    We stayed in a Room with a private open-air bath, and there were so many types of baths that one night wasn't enough to enjoy them all. The meals featured various specialties from Niigata and were absolutely delicious! After checking out, we took the nearby ropeway, which was just a short walk away. It was the perfect season for autumn leaves, and the scenery was stunning. There were also free lifts and bobsleds to enjoy. The staff were all very kind, making our stay truly wonderful. Thank you so much!

    The meals and dining...

    The meals and dining staff were excellent. However, there was no luggage-carrying service, the parking lot had no markings and was confusing, the front desk staff seemed impersonal, and overall the service did not match the price, which was disappointing.

    Accommodation to Visit Again: Futaba

    I have visited Futaba multiple times, and this time was after 6 years. The Onsen, meals, and overall experience were extremely satisfying. The bath was perfect for relieving body fatigue and swelling, with the medicinal bath being my favorite. As always, the meals were delightful, and since I mentioned it was my husband's birthday this time, they prepared a celebratory meal set along with a gift of sake, creating wonderful memories for us. I found the chopsticks used during meals very easy to use and ended up purchasing them at the shop. This is an accommodation I want to visit again with my family. I've been there about six times already but would love to go back again!

    For us, this is the ultimate hospitality Hotel!

    This is our fourth visit. We truly look forward to visiting Hotel Futaba once a year. Nowadays, there are countless accommodations both domestically and internationally where you can enjoy "onsen, meals, and stays" with high hospitality. However, the hospitality at Hotel Futaba, the dedication of the staff to meet each guest's needs, the thoughtfulness felt in the cuisine, the impeccably clean onsen facilities, and even the warm expressions in traditional-style signs throughout the facility—everything about it makes us feel that no other place surpasses Hotel Futaba for us as a couple. We always return home completely satisfied. Even though it's just one night we spend at Futaba-san each time, that time gives us strength to tackle our daily lives again—we always talk about this together. Personally, I recommend visiting during off-season from spring to autumn! The relaxed atmosphere of Echigo Yuzawa during this time is simply wonderful. To everyone at Hotel Futaba: thank you so much! Please keep up your great work. We'll visit again soon!!!

    It was a heartfelt accommodation. The meals were also truly excellent.

    We were picked up at Yuzawa Station, and they came promptly after our call, which we greatly appreciated. Despite the busy Golden Week period, the front desk staff, souvenir shop staff, and dining staff all greeted us with warm smiles and provided attentive service for which we are very grateful. The room was clean and well-maintained, leaving us satisfied. One point of concern was the bathroom floor. While we understand that there is frequent movement between indoors and outdoors due to the many open-air baths available, there was a significant amount of sand and dirt on the indoor bath floor. Walking in the indoor bath area left sand or dirt sticking to our feet, which was unpleasant. This is an excellent accommodation with attentive staff who pay close attention to detail; however, this one issue stood out as unfortunate. Overall though, it was a highly satisfying stay that I would recommend to everyone. I look forward to staying here again in the future!

    Truly a relaxing Hotel

    We stayed at the property during the three-day weekend in February as our family's schedule suddenly aligned. Since it was a hotel we found at the last minute, I was curious about what kind of place it would be, but there was an onsen even in the ordinary room, and it was spacious and very nice. The staff's service was also very courteous. On the evening of the middle day of the three-day weekend, there was a surprise when no water came out from any of the baths, but it somehow got fixed by night. Upon leaving, we received some sweets as an apology. Dinner had just the right amount and was very delicious.

    There seems to be a ...

    There seems to be a shortage of staff, as there is too much delay in serving meals, and perhaps the food is left for too long after cooking, as items that should be warm are lukewarm, and sashimi and rice are dry. The bathhouse design is elaborate, but there is a problem with the essential Onsen water quality. After bathing, it felt like I had been in a public bath, and it didn't feel like an Onsen.

    It was very good.

    This year, after my husband's surgery went well, we went to see the autumn leaves in Echigo Yuzawa and stayed at this hotel. We were upgraded from the room we had reserved to a room with a living room, a Japanese-style room, and a bedroom, which was very impressive. I thought it would have been even better if the room amenities were more complete, but there was no inconvenience if you brought your own. The dinner was very delicious with a sense of the season. The staff serving us were also very polite and nice. I thought I would like to visit again.

    It made me think about what high class means.

    It was a repeat visit, but unfortunately, there were several disappointments. The room seemed to be of a higher grade and came with an open-air bath, which was a lucky surprise since we didn't request it. Firstly, regarding the reservation, none of the contents entered in the remarks column were reflected. If it couldn't be done, it should have been consulted beforehand, but it was simply overlooked, causing us a lot of trouble. I think it's questionable for a company not to protect personal information. As for the meals, nothing stood out. The dishes were set up incorrectly and were mixed up, there was no explanation, the meat was burnt, several people mistakenly put soy sauce on their salad, and even the all-you-can-drink beer was wrong. I really felt it was a failure. (Dinner is usually at a different place, but it became unavailable for reservation, and I took the safe option, which is my responsibility.) Breakfast was reliable. I recommend choosing the breakfast option. However, I strongly suggest improving the late start time for breakfast. The billing at checkout was also disappointing. Despite causing so much inconvenience, there were no words of apology. Even though we stayed with a large group, the way they casually handed over the usual two bags of candy and thanked us without making eye contact was not the service expected from a hotel marked as high-class. The staff in charge of the karaoke room provided very polite service. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, and I ended up tired from what was supposed to be a fun trip.

    The whole family was very satisfied!

    Thank you very much for your hospitality. We were able to spend a relaxing time in a spacious room with an open-air bath, upgraded from our original reservation. The bath in the room was also an onsen, and we enjoyed it after dinner, feeling the night breeze and relaxing quietly, which was wonderful. We visited the large public baths on both the 6th and 7th floors, and the Yamboccha open-air bath on the 6th floor offered a variety of types, which was very enjoyable. The meals were all delicious. However, the temperature of the open-air bath on the 7th floor was slightly warm for my elderly parents, and they felt a bit chilly. I thought it might be due to the temperature. Overall, we were very satisfied and would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

    Disappointing and below expectations.

    Since it was a trip with my parents after a long time, I chose this inn with good reviews and no buffet dinner. In conclusion, it was disappointing. The buffet inn I stayed at last month in the same Echigo Yuzawa was cheaper and 100 times better. There are many baths, but the water is lukewarm everywhere. The open-air bath is so cold that you definitely couldn't enter it in winter. The most surprising thing was that there was no hand soap at the sink in the changing room. There's a poster on how to wash your hands properly, but... I also felt it in the dining area, but the hygiene management awareness is low. The meals were not particularly impressive considering the accommodation fee. The room was clean, but despite being a Japanese-Western style room, there were no lace curtains. I thought it was completely visible from the outside. The staff's service also felt superficial. There were many shortcomings in every aspect, and I was disappointed. I felt sorry for my parents. I thought it would be okay based on the reviews and price, but it was a mistake. I will definitely not repeat.

    Overall, it was good...

    Overall, it was good. The sauna in the bath was only open from 3 PM to 9 PM, so my wife couldn't use it. We stayed in a 10-tatami mat Japanese-style room, but the air conditioner was so noisy that we couldn't hear the TV. The bath was wonderful with many options. Although there were many foreign staff, their service was very polite and impressive. It was just the right amount of attention, which was excellent. We ordered beer and a drinking set right after entering the room, but it remained there until checkout, so it would be nice if they could clear it away when laying out the futon.
