    Excellent service

    Thank you for the wonderful service—it made our stay truly exceptional. First, I accidentally made a Reservation with the wrong gender, but you quickly brought us yukata in different sizes, which was very helpful. With fewer guests staying, the attentive, personalized service really stood out. We also enjoyed the complimentary pudding—it was delicious. The Onsen was available at night as well, so we could relax and take our time. The bed felt a bit firm and slightly uncomfortable to sleep on, but other than that we had no complaints at all. Also, it was pouring rain at checkout, and you kindly handed us towels—this helped us so much. We truly appreciated your thoughtful attention to detail. We would love to stay here again when we visit Kusatsu.

    It was my first visi...

    It was my first visit in a while, and once again the Onsen was wonderful—I thoroughly enjoyed soaking in two different natural hot spring sources. The meals were delicious and very satisfying. The guests were considerate, and it was very quiet, so I could truly relax. The staff were kind as well, and I recommend this place to anyone who likes a small, cozy property. Thank you for taking such good care of me. I will visit again.

    We’ll be back!

    The location is outstanding. It’s quiet, with the soothing sound of the river at just the right volume. The Room is easy to use and very comfortable. The Onsen, of course, was wonderful. I was also impressed by how pleasant the changing area felt afterward, as well as the barley tea and water provided. The meals were delicious. I may have overeaten and had a bit too much salt, but that’s on me. I’m glad I got to enjoy a variety of tasty local specialties from Joshu.

    With a pleasantly sm...

    With a pleasantly small number of Rooms, the atmosphere felt very homey and we were able to relax at a leisurely pace. We could enjoy both Onsens without any crowds, and the handmade breakfast was comforting. We’d love to stay again if we have the chance!

    This Accommodation offers excellent value for money.

    Just a short distance from the bustle of Kusatsu Onsen, we enjoyed delicious meals while taking in views of Kusatsu Hotel as if it were part of the scenery. It was our first time visiting Kusatsu Onsen, but we were able to relax at ease thanks to the simple, well-balanced setting and service in this highly competitive hot spring town. The Onsen itself is simple, so we couldn’t help wishing for a bit more, but we could also feel the attention to detail in the amenities. This is an Accommodation we hope to visit again.

    A lovely Accommodation with a warm atmosphere

    Thank you for taking care of me the other day. Just as other Reviews mentioned, the proprietress’s warm hospitality was wonderful. The entire Accommodation and my Room were thoroughly cleaned, giving a fresh, comfortable feel. I wasn’t feeling my best, but you kindly prepared a Room close to the footbath area, which was a great help. Kusatsu’s Onsen is very potent; even just using the footbath made me feel better and reminded me how beneficial an Onsen can be. The location also offers easy access to Sai-no-Kawara Onsen. I went first thing in the morning and, with great weather, enjoyed a truly refreshing time. I felt this is an ideal Accommodation for women traveling solo. I would love to visit again to unwind from work and everyday fatigue.

    Such a relaxing hot bath~

    We stayed again following last year. There are two small bathtubs, each fed by a different Onsen source, and we highly recommend it because you can soak in the rare “Wata-no-Yu.” The water was wonderful every time we went in. If you go during dinner or breakfast hours, you can have the bath all to yourself without seeing anyone. We’ll definitely be back again.

    The Best Casual Stay

    I had a great impression on my last visit, so I came back. This time I was shown to a larger Room, and I was very satisfied with its Japanese-modern atmosphere and spacious layout. I deducted one star because there wasn’t a razor (lol). The bath is also a bit compact, so it can feel awkward if you run into other guests. That said, the young proprietress at the Hotel was incredibly welcoming—my impression improved even more! I’ll be back. Overall, I’m very satisfied.

    I’m a repeat guest.

    I’ve visited Kusatsu Onsen many times, and this was my second stay at this Accommodation. With only a small number of guest rooms, it’s quiet and relaxing. Recommended for those who prefer to avoid large Hotels. The baths offer two different types of spring water. They aren’t very large, but since there are few guests, depending on the time you can enjoy them almost like a private bath. Breakfast was also very delicious—I even went back for seconds. The hearty miso soup in particular was excellent. It’s a bit of a walk from Yubatake, but access to Sainokawara is good. After leaving the bath late at night, I looked around for something like a vending machine to get a drink, but there wasn’t one. There are free tea and coffee drinks, but only during set hours. Even if it were paid, I think it would be even better if mineral water or something similar were stocked in the refrigerator. This is an Accommodation I’d like to return to.

    Favorite Hotel

    Thank you very much for your hospitality. I have visited Kusatsu many times, but the only place I return to again and again is Watanoyu. It’s a cozy, quiet Hotel where you can relax, the breakfast is delicious, and the staff always greet you with warm smiles—truly a comfortable place to stay. I love Onsen, and I especially like the Watanoyu here. I used to stay with the aim of visiting Shirahata-no-Yu, but after learning there is a hot spring source called Watanoyu, I’ve been coming here ever since. The baths are never crowded, and you can soak whenever you like—there’s nothing more to ask for. Everything is clean, and the Room was bright and spacious. The only reason I deducted one star was that Wi‑Fi didn’t work in our Room this time. I don’t remember having much trouble before, so perhaps it was because we were in the Room at the very end. That part was a little disappointing, so next time I’ll request the Room we stayed in previously (lol). We’ll be back again—thank you very much.

    I love the quality of the hot spring.

    As an onsen enthusiast, I travel to various places 2-3 times a month, and this year started and ended with Kusatsu. The hot spring quality in Kusatsu is quite strong, so personally, I feel that a one-night stay is just right. It’s an onsen that gives you energy. Here, you can enjoy the rare "Wata-no-Yu" flowing directly from the source. While I’ve stayed at other hotels and ryokans as well, this place has become my favorite in Kusatsu because the handmade breakfast is very delicious. I decided to revisit here again. The hotel is clean with no unnecessary frills—perfect for onsen lovers. The staff are also very kind. Thank you very much! Looking forward to staying again!

    I had a wonderful ti...

    I had a wonderful time during my 2-night, 3-day stay. I thoroughly enjoyed the two types of Onsen, including the foot bath and the main Onsen! The breakfast was delicious, and I wish I had added dinner as well! The hostess and all the staff were incredibly kind and took great care of me during my stay. (Although there was an incident caused by my carelessness before check-out, the hostess kindly helped me out... Thanks to her, I was able to enjoy exploring Kusatsu on my last day!) This is such a lovely accommodation that I would definitely like to stay here again when visiting Kusatsu Onsen!

    Accommodation for a Quiet Stay

    With a limited number of rooms, the bath is always in a private state, and coffee and cold drinks are provided—it's perfect. The room is compact and well-organized, featuring a small round table, cushions (with just the right firmness for comfort), and chairs—every spot offers relaxation. Additionally, the distance to Yubatake is ideal for a stroll; after a full dinner, you can enjoy walking to the beautifully lit-up Yubatake. Although this Kusatsu trip during the three-day weekend was decided on short notice, I never expected such tranquility. I will definitely choose this accommodation again next time!

    We stayed as a coupl...

    We stayed as a couple and were very pleased with the clean and quiet environment, making this our second visit. We stayed in the newly renovated "Moegi" Room, which was spacious, open, and very relaxing. Dinner offered a wide variety of dishes to enjoy, all of which were delicious. It was truly a satisfying meal. I also appreciated the thoughtful gesture of arranging chopsticks for my left-handed use. Relaxing in the "Wata no Yu" bath was another highlight. We look forward to staying here again!

    I felt relaxed.

    I recently went on a rare trip with my daughter. The accommodation's room was simple yet well-equipped, clean, and very comfortable. What stood out the most was the hot spring water. The soft and gentle texture of "Wata-no-Yu" and the crisp heat of "Bandai-Ko" were truly enjoyable. The meals offered a variety of dishes, with creative use of seasonal vegetables leaving a great impression. However, one small disappointment was that the sashimi had already been served before we sat at our table and had become lukewarm. At checkout, when I mentioned that we were planning to visit Nishinokawara Open-Air Bath next, the hostess provided us with exceptionally kind hospitality. Thank you very much for everything! It was such a wonderful accommodation that I would love to visit again someday.

    55th Wedding Anniversary Onsen Trip

    It was an Onsen trip to celebrate 55 years of marriage. The staff were kind, and the meals were delicious. The sweets in the room's refrigerator were delightful. It's a charming and cozy hotel, and I would love to stay again.

    I had a relaxing stay.

    Overall, the accommodation was clean and pleasant. The meals had a wide variety of dishes and were enjoyable. The barley tea available after bathing was refreshing and very helpful during summer. The footbath was clean and comfortable, so I used it multiple times. The onsen offered two types of spring qualities, which were enjoyable even though there were no open-air baths. One improvement I would suggest is adding a fan in the dressing room during summer. I found the meals to be slightly too salty overall, especially the beef sukiyaki hot pot, which was quite strong in flavor. The room was clean, and the welcome dessert was absolutely delicious and made me very happy. Overall, I had a pleasant stay and would love to visit again!

    The meals and pudding were extremely delicious!

    The pudding in the Room's refrigerator, mentioned in the Review, was truly delicious. Also, both dinner and breakfast were served with warm dishes at the right timing, doubling the deliciousness. The omelet at breakfast was artistically fluffy and served warm, which was impressive. It is the No.1 omelet for me.

    It was a Property with a good atmosphere and all the necessary amenities.

    We stayed here on the first day of our Onsen trip to Kusatsu and Ikaho. The size and amenities of the Room were just right. Although it was compact, we were able to spend our time comfortably without any inconvenience. The meals were delicious, and above all, there was a wide variety and generous portions, leaving us very full. The Onsen allowed us to enjoy two types of baths, and perhaps due to the limited number of guest Rooms, we were able to use it almost privately depending on the time, which was wonderful. (As we knew beforehand, there is no open-air bath, and you cannot enjoy the view, so we rated it 4 stars. However, the quality of the spring water and the temperature of the baths were highly satisfying.) The staff were very pleasant, and they paid attention to small details, such as allowing us to borrow towels when we visited Sai-no-Kawara Onsen. This is a Property we would definitely like to stay at again when we travel to Kusatsu.

    A casual and cost-effective inn

    I have visited Kusatsu many times, but I had been curious about Watanoyu for a while and finally got to stay there. It was my first time at "Watanoyu," and the quality of the hot spring was excellent. Even after returning home, my skin remained smooth. I had been avoiding Kusatsu's hot springs because they are strong, but it was nice to experience "Kusatsu's hot spring" again after a long time. Since you can enjoy two types, including "Bandai Mine," I might revisit. The inn is small and clean, with a casual atmosphere and no unnecessary frills. The quality of the spring is good, and the small bath is not a problem, but I was surprised by the lack of a view. I understood that there was construction going on, but it seemed like bad timing as they were removing scaffolding pipes during the day, which was quite noisy and a bit disappointing. However, it was quiet at night. I opted for a breakfast-only plan, and the breakfast was very satisfying and fulfilling, with a homemade feel. That was a big plus for me. Kusatsu is a renowned hot spring resort, but I was grateful to stay at an affordable price. Thank you very much. I look forward to visiting again.
