A renowned hot spring in a national park.
I visited on a Hokkaido Onsen-hopping trip, and also climbed Mt. Asahidake, the highest peak in Hokkaido. It’s a long-established hot spring Accommodation. This Accommodation has ties to snowboarder Mr. Takeuchi, an Olympic representative, and there is an exhibition room inside the building as well. After checking in and entering my Room, I found it had been renovated with a warm wood-based design that made it very comfortable to stay in. Though compact, it was beautifully arranged and felt very clean—at one point it even reminded me of Aalto where I stayed before. The meals were thoughtfully prepared, and I was satisfied with both dinner and breakfast. The appetizer at dinner featured refreshing dishes based on melon—exactly what my tired, overheated body wanted after hiking and the Onsen. Breakfast was also excellent—I ended up having seconds of rice. The hot springs are wonderful. Since there are also day-use visitors, the bathing area felt a bit small to me; however, “Kami no Yu” is colorless yet pleasantly silky, with a noticeable iron-spring aroma that I really enjoyed. I will visit again.

We were thrilled with the salt-baked abalone. The bath was also excellent. If the weather is clear, be sure to visit Sugatami Station.
It was my first time in 30 years to enjoy salt-crusted grilling, since having sea bass cooked this way in Paris. Abalone wrapped in kelp and baked in a salt crust—truly moving. I tried the baths as well (Yukoman, Shikoro, and Kami-gami no Yu), and my favorite was the original spring (gypsum spring). I’m sorry I checked out without breakfast, but Mt. Asahidake was clear, so I took the 6:50 a.m. ropeway up to Sugatami Station. Seeing Mt. Asahidake on a clear day is breathtaking. From the ropeway on the right side, I could also see Mt. Chubetsu (?) . It clouded over in less than an hour, but since Sugatami Station is above the tree line, you can see many alpine plants with just a five-minute walk. I consider this a true treasure. I hope both the Asahidake Ropeway and Mt. Asahidake become even more widely known.

The Onsen is excellent.
With multiple baths, you can enjoy a varied Onsen experience. We had no complaints at all about the service. The meals were excellent, but both my companion and I felt that being served melon and vichyssoise early in the course made us quite full, so we would have preferred them later. This is a Facility we would like to visit again if we have the chance.

Enjoy the crystal-clear air and water created by Mt. Asahidake, along with one of Hokkaido’s finest Onsen.
We had the pleasure of staying at Yumoto Yukomaso, a member of the Japan Association for Protecting Secluded Hot Springs. The location, Onsen, and meals were all in perfect harmony at a consistently high level, allowing us to fully enjoy everything this Accommodation has to offer. What left the strongest impression was the Onsen overlooking lush spring greenery in a wonderfully rustic setting. Soaking in the water while surrounded by birdsong and the crystal-clear air of Mt. Asahidake was truly exceptional. The cuisine was also outstanding, showcasing the chef’s dedication—deeply flavorful dashi that brought out the best in each ingredient, and beautifully presented dishes plated with great care that conveyed genuine craftsmanship. Our Room was Superior Twin Room 401. We were soothed by birdsong and a refreshing breeze through the window, and thanks to their carefully selected spring water and comfortable mattress—together with the benefits of the Onsen—we felt deeply restored both body and mind. Our walk around Mt. Asahidake is also an unforgettable memory. This has become one of our favorite Accommodations, and we will definitely return.

A secluded Onsen in a hidden location.
I stayed here for sightseeing around Mt. Asahidake. The Onsen offers a variety of spring types and several temperature options, so I was able to enjoy it fully. In the evening, it was crowded during the day-use hours. The meals were more than sufficient in both quality and quantity, and the croquettes and abalone were especially outstanding. The Room has been renovated; while not luxurious, it had everything I needed and I was satisfied.

Definitely coming back!!!
I stayed here on the recommendation of someone who lives in Sapporo. In Furano and other areas, I mostly saw rental cars with “Wa” or “Re” plates, but at Yukomaso’s parking lot there were many cars from Hokkaido locals. I stayed in late May and there was still some snow remaining. The baths were wonderful, and the meals were also very thoughtfully prepared—beautiful to look at, fun, delicious—and I was completely satisfied! I found out after dinner that you can add hokke for 1,800 yen, so I added it to breakfast. It was large, but it had cooled a bit and wasn’t piping hot... I was surprised that the baths are available 24 hours. It was never crowded no matter when I went. The bath in the new annex also felt great with its high ceiling. What makes this Accommodation special is that there’s nothing unnecessary, yet everything you need is properly provided. At the entrance I wondered why there was a Swiss flag??? Then I found out!! The gallery/memorial museum on the 5th floor dedicated to Olympic silver medalist Tomoka Takeuchi is a must-see. You can really feel the love from her family and hometown. Next time I want to come in summer for hiking in Daisetsuzan and stay here again. Definitely coming back!

Accommodation with Onsen and Meals for Complete Satisfaction
The high ceiling of "Kami-gami no Yu" and the phytoncide (aroma of wood) truly permeated my body. I think it’s an amazing Onsen. The meals were uniquely delightful and left a lasting impression, making me want to visit again. The birch furniture in the Moderate Twin room was also very charming.

Highly Satisfied
All staff members are dedicated to providing the best service to guests. While many accommodations promote their onsen, those that rely solely on it tend to decline.

It was a relaxing experience.
This is probably my fifth visit or more, and I am always soothed by the wonderful Onsen and delicious cuisine. It is one of the few accommodations I want to visit again. Thank you for your hospitality.

It was a relaxing experience.
Upon entering the Hotel, you will feel a very calming atmosphere, and the bath is wonderful and truly relaxing. The meals are excellent. Next time, I would like to stay for two nights to enjoy even more relaxation.

Accommodation you'll want to visit again
Overall, this was a very satisfying accommodation. The staff were very polite and kind. - The renovated room was very comfortable. The wooden elements felt pleasant. The duvet was filled with proper down, which is rare, and it was fluffy and comfortable. - Great attention to detail in the face towels; they were sturdy and nice to use. - The wooden structure of the "Gods' Bath" was impressive and had a sense of grandeur. It smelled of wood, which was delightful. It felt new, with floors that were easy to walk on. - Dinner dishes were particularly elaborate for each item; however, simpler options might also be good (e.g., the tomato in the tomato jelly felt slightly firm; the surface of the melon seemed dry when eaten; both were slightly firm as well). The abalone tasted overly salty for my preference. - Portions were filling enough to satisfy your appetite. With various types of tableware used, cleaning up seems like it could be challenging. - Disposable slippers are not provided, so those concerned may want to bring their own. - For women guests, limited amenities might feel inconvenient—cleansing products, toner lotion, or moisturizer would be appreciated. - Baths available for guests had a historical feel to them. As others have mentioned in reviews before me: shower pressure is incredibly strong—almost like getting a massage—but it feels too strong at times and made me worry about hair loss! Additionally: floor stones inside baths are rough-textured & painful underfoot—it’d help if walking surfaces became smoother over time!

I love this place, but I kindly request replacing the showerhead.
Every August for the past 5-6 years, I have visited with the purpose of climbing Mt. Asahidake. I always stay in the renovated Superior Twin Room. What I love about this accommodation are its proximity to the mountains, the friendly service from staff, complimentary coffee in the lounge, surprisingly satisfying dinner and breakfast that you wouldn't expect to enjoy in a mountain setting, and the rustic open-air bath. Recently, even rooms without air conditioning have been equipped with it, making it comfortable even during scorching summers. However, my favorite accommodation has one major drawback: the showerheads in the baths. The showerheads at Shikoro-no-Yu and Yukoman-no-Yu in the main building are old types that cannot adjust water pressure; moreover, their water flow is so strong that it's actually painful. Since we know about this issue beforehand, we manage to use them carefully; however, first-time visitors next to us often exclaim "Ouch! What is this?" due to surprise and discomfort. I sincerely hope these showerheads can be replaced soon. Another point is regarding towel hangers in rooms—there's only one hanger available which can barely hold a single towel. For two guests staying together, there’s no place to dry towels used after bathing. One thing that caught my attention for the first time this year was an incident during dinner: although restaurants close at 8 PM sharp, a group of Chinese guests continued drinking alcohol noisily at their table past closing time while staff appeared visibly troubled by their behavior. It was disappointing as I've never witnessed such scenes before. I look forward to enjoying baths with new showerheads next year!

This is my third stay in three years. I felt the portion of the melon vichyssoise soup was smaller than before. Since I look forward to the melon vichyssoise, it was a bit disappointing.

As expected, a hidden gem of a hot spring.
The room was newly renovated, very spacious, and the bed was comfortable. The Onsen truly lived up to its reputation as a hidden gem, offering a variety of baths, including lukewarm ones that allowed children to enjoy long soaks. The Ryokan's dinner portions are often too large to finish, but the seasoning was perfect this time, and I managed to finish everything for the first time in a while. It was also nice to have free coffee available anytime at the café space. The water was incredibly delicious, so I plan to bring a bottle next time.

There was only one type of pillow, and it was hard, so I couldn't sleep well. It would have been better if there was at least a softer pillow.

The Onsen felt incredibly good.
I was looking for a good Ryokan near Asahiyama Zoo and Asahikawa Airport and came across this Ryokan. It is located up a mountain road, and I was worried about the visibility of the road near sunset, but upon arrival, the staff warmly welcomed me, which was very comforting. The Room did not have photos on the website, which concerned me, but it was clean, the bed was large and comfortable, and it was an easy Room to stay in. The bath in the main building's Onsen switches between men's and women's baths at 9 PM, allowing you to enjoy both baths at night. There are lukewarm to hot options, but most have a gentle temperature, allowing for a pleasant long bath without feeling dizzy. The separate building's Kamigami no Yu was available at night, and I happened to have it all to myself, with the Onsen temperature being comfortable as well. The open-air bath was different from the main building's, with no outdoor lighting, making it a bit scary for me personally. Also, there was only one set of towels and bath towels in the Room, and although I managed to use them efficiently, having about two sets each would allow for a more carefree Onsen experience. The meals, especially dinner, were excellent, with not only great taste but also pleasant service and the fastest serving speed. Unfortunately, it was pouring rain on the way back, but the staff was attentive until the end, making it a very pleasant stay. Thank you very much.

The Western-style room (Moderate Twin) is lovely!
It seems that half of the rooms have been renovated into Western-style rooms, and they are absolutely wonderful! The water in the room is natural spring water, so there's no need to buy bottled water from vending machines. The meals, including a cold potato soup served in half a melon, are very delicious. The hot spring has a high ceiling and is a spacious, pleasant area. The separate building's hot spring, used by day-trippers during the day, has an open-air bath (felt like 42°C) and a large bath (felt like 41°C) that were at a comfortable temperature. However, in the main building, except for the original hot spring (felt like 43°C), the baths were too lukewarm (felt like 39°C), and the water level in the open-air bath was too low to enter. Also, it was disappointing that the sound of the plumbing when the neighboring room used the toilet and the noise from the hallway were quite loud. Since the room was so nice, I wish they would pay attention to the noise as well. The bed was narrower than a regular single bed, but it had an unusually comfortable, not-too-hard mattress for a hotel. It's about a 50-minute drive from Asahikawa Airport. This is a highly rated inn where I was able to fully enjoy my stay.

Overall, I think it'...
Overall, I think it's a very good inn. The dinner was also very delicious, but one disappointing aspect was that the fusion of French and Japanese cuisine was quite mixed, alternating in such a way that I didn't know what kind of alcohol to drink. Since the quality of each dish is high, I think it would have been better if we could choose either a Japanese or French course.
