    Room with Onsen

    We stayed here on a trip as a couple. The open-air bath was great, and the free-flowing hot-spring bath in our Room was also amazing! This time we booked a Plan with breakfast; it was delicious and just the right amount for us, so next time we’d like to stay with a Plan that includes dinner as well (we didn’t choose well for dinner this time...).

    Relaxing Onsen Accommodation

    I stayed in a basic Room; it was spacious enough, and the Onsen was also large. It’s a 10-minute walk from JR Yudaonsen Station, but there is a bus stop in front of the Hotel with convenient access to central Yamaguchi City, Shin-Yamaguchi Station, and even highway buses to Hiroshima and Fukuoka.

    We will not take action unless the guest requests it.

    Although it’s a Ryokan, we were shown to our Room (as expected), but there was no explanation of the Room, no tea was served, and the staff just left. I’m not sure if this is normal at this Ryokan. We had many questions about the in-room Onsen (it was empty), yukata sizes (they didn’t fit), the air conditioner, and more. We also didn’t know the phone number to call the front desk. We wanted to use the in-room Onsen multiple times, but after using it once, when we tried to use it again for a second time, it was empty and we couldn’t get in right away. It seems the stopper was slightly tilted, but since a staff member filled it for us at first, I wonder if there is an issue with the stopper itself. For dinner we ordered a fugu course; it was decent overall and the service was good.

    Some guests have poor manners.

    I was surprised to see about five guests with tattoos in the large public bath. My hand towel was taken by someone at the open-air bath. A different-colored towel had been left nearby, so perhaps it was taken by mistake? The area around the water dispenser in the changing room was soaked, and about ten paper cups were left scattered around. The Onsen water quality was excellent and it was clean overall, so this was a bit disappointing. The Room was spacious, and the staff were very kind.

    Good.

    The hospitality was excellent. I visited with my 8-month-old daughter. The attentive service allowed us to relax and enjoy our stay. Since we had a child, we reserved a private bath. It was worth making the reservation as the bath was spacious, and we could unwind in the open-air bath. The food was also delicious! Unfortunately, although we had reserved only a futon for our child, it was forgotten on the day of our stay... Nothing was mentioned even at checkout... However, overall, I am very satisfied. If I have another opportunity to visit, I would like to make a reservation again!

    The meals were excellent.

    This was my first stay at a Yuubel Group Hotel. The building seems to be an older structure, but we stayed in a renovated Japanese-Western style room. There were some steps, but overall it was good. The onsen featured an open-air bath with free-flowing natural hot spring water, which was excellent. As for the meals, dinner included fugu sashimi, fried fugu, and a small hot pot—all of which were delicious. The meat was tender, and each dish was carefully prepared to our satisfaction.

    Wonderful Hotel

    Before making a reservation, I read the reviews and was unsure as they weren't very positive, but I decided to go anyway. It turned out to be excellent and is now one of the top hotels I've visited. I think it's great for families with small children. The lobby is mostly carpeted, which was perfect for our family as our child had just started walking two months ago. The carpet made it safe for them to walk around on their own, and they were so happy with a big smile on their face. The room and bathroom were both wonderful. The dining area had high chairs with belts for children, and it felt semi-private, allowing us to enjoy our meal without worrying about others around us. The food was delicious, and we loved everything about our stay. We would love to stay here again when we visit Yamaguchi!

    Support a clean Facility.

    I used this place for the first time for both sightseeing and business. The front desk staff and the young staff who guided me to my room were very well-trained and pleasant. The facility is old, but both the shared areas and the room were thoroughly cleaned. The Onsen had an open-air bath with natural flow, without heating or added water. The indoor bath was a circulating system, but this was clearly stated, which gave a sense of honesty. I did not use the dining service. I would definitely like to stay here again when I visit Yamaguchi.

    We went on our first trip as a group of three.

    A memorable trip with friends from school days, reunited after 30 years. The accommodation is conveniently located and easy to find, with a very welcoming front desk staff who provided helpful sightseeing information. Our room was upgraded to a spacious and clean one, making it very comfortable. It was a tatami-style room with well-prepared futons that ensured a good night's sleep without any discomfort. The meals were served warm and featured local Yamaguchi specialties. The dishes were thoughtfully prepared rather than just increasing the number of items, which made the dining experience delightful. Breakfast was equally creative and satisfying. The onsen offers natural hot spring water directly from the source, clear and soothing. It warmed us up thoroughly, keeping us cozy through the night and into the morning. The accommodation is clean, simple, reasonably priced, and conveniently located right in front of a bus stop for easy access to various destinations. The atmosphere is relaxed with high-quality guests around—perfect for an enjoyable stay without pretense or stress.

    I stayed at the accommodation on July 25, 2025. The room had coffee brewed with a single-serving siphon, which I enjoyed. The meals were quite generous in portion and very satisfying.

    It was a great bath.

    I stayed here during my first visit to Yamaguchi City. It's surprising to find such an Onsen area so close to the city center in a prefectural capital. I thoroughly enjoyed the Onsen in both the large public bath and the Room's private bath. The meals were well-seasoned, and the service staff provided excellent hospitality, making it a delightful dining experience. Dinner was served at a slightly fast pace, but it was still within an acceptable range. The satisfaction exceeded the accommodation price. I think this is an accommodation with excellent cost performance. Highly recommended.

    I had a very relaxing stay.

    Staying at Yuda Onsen in Yamaguchi was a must on our San'in and Sanyo trip, and choosing Ube Hotel Matsumasa was the right decision. The room was impeccably clean, and despite selecting "Room by Hotel's Choice," we were given a very spacious room, for which we are truly grateful. The meals were served warm at just the right timing and were incredibly delicious. We also appreciated having a private dining space where we could relax. It was a truly memorable accommodation. The service at the front desk and elsewhere was excellent, and the Onsen experience was wonderful as well.

    Solo Trip, East Wing, 2 Nights

    The large Onsen bath (with open-air baths featuring natural hot spring water) was very satisfying. Additionally, the footbath, a specialty of Yuda Onsen, located beside the Hotel was a great point. The Room, though old, was clean and pleasant. Personally, I also enjoyed the coffee at the lounge café—it was delicious and made me happy.

    I stayed in the East...

    I stayed in the East Wing. The cleanliness was fine, but the facility felt outdated, reminiscent of a Showa-era Ryokan. The Onsen and meals were average, but overall, even considering it was during Golden Week, I felt it did not match the price.

    We enjoyed the Onsen...

    We enjoyed the Onsen attached to our room, and we were glad that our wishes were fulfilled this time as well. However, the cuisine was disappointing for the price, with pre-made side dishes even at breakfast. Nevertheless, the convenience was excellent, and we would like to use it again.

    I stayed here for my university graduation ceremony. Since my child started school, our family has used this accommodation many times, and it feels a bit sad to think this might be the last time. The onsen is of high quality, with plenty of towels provided, and the hotel is bright and comfortable. It's conveniently located near Yuda Onsen Station for those traveling by train, and the spacious parking lot makes it accessible no matter how you arrive. After trying several nearby hotels, we ultimately chose Yuubel because of the exceptional friendliness of the staff. This time as well, they were very helpful in reserving spaces for us during ceremonies and meals. Whenever I visit Yuda again in the future, I will definitely stay here!

    The reliable Yuda Onsen

    The open-air bath in the large public bath is fed by a natural hot spring. It feels like a cross between a Ryokan and a Hotel, but it is kept very clean despite its age. I stay here several times a year, so I can spend my time with peace of mind.

    It was a good Onsen.

    I believe this is my third stay, and the bath is spacious and free-flowing, which refreshed my mind. I think just entering the onsen is worth it. The price is reasonable and satisfying, and I would like to come again. Thank you for accommodating my wife's allergy-friendly meals.

    Main building guest room

    The main building rooms are old, and the toilet and washroom facilities are reminiscent of a business hotel from a bygone era, which may be particularly unpopular with female guests due to the amenities. There were no issues with the meals and service, and I am especially grateful for the courteous assistance provided during our meal when we sought advice on sightseeing.

    The bath is very nice.

    It is becoming my regular accommodation when I go on business trips to Yamaguchi. The open-air bath is free-flowing and very pleasant, and since there is also a sauna for women, I always use it. The breakfast is not a buffet, but it is delicious and just the right amount.
