    It was a comfortable stay.

The Room had a private open-air bath, and it was wonderful. We also enjoyed the delicious drinks and snacks. The meals were generous in portion, and the Yamato beef shabu-shabu was especially excellent. The children were thrilled with the table tennis and board games as well!

This was the best accommodation I’ve ever stayed at.

This time, we stayed in a Room with an open-air bath. My wife and I enjoyed it many times, fully relaxing in nature. Meals were not served in the Room, but we were able to dine in a private room and enjoy our meal in a quiet setting. I would like to visit again at least once more in my lifetime.

The service was attentive, and the food was delicious.

I took the shuttle service from Nara Station, but I didn’t realize there was a luggage storage service at the shuttle bus stop, so I ended up carrying my bags around all day. I’d definitely like to use it next time! When we arrived at the Accommodation, my child started crying, but the staff responded so warmly that it really put me at ease. The view from the Accommodation was amazing—it truly felt like being surrounded by nature. There were also some international staff members, and everyone was incredibly kind and attentive, with service just as thoughtful as Japanese staff. The meals were delicious (and I was surprised by how generous the children’s meal portion was!). The chocolates, drinks, and snacks in the fridge were just right as well—overall, it was a very comfortable stay. We even saw deer come into the Accommodation’s garden, which made for a wonderful experience. Thank you very much.

    A lovely accommodation.

We stayed for one night in the “Kaze Wing” Maisonette Room with an open-air bath (Japanese-style room + twin beds, two-story Japanese-Western style Room). When we arrived by car, a staff member ran up to the driver’s seat in the rain, and I immediately thought, “This is going to be a great Accommodation.” That impression was confirmed when, instead of checking in at a counter, we were guided to a sofa in a scenic lobby and completed check-in and received an explanation of the Accommodation while enjoying matcha—truly wonderful hospitality. The staff member who showed us to our Room had such a lovely smile. The staff member who served our meals was friendly and attentive. And every staff member we met while walking around the property greeted us with warm smiles. Every dish was genuinely delicious! The flavors weren’t heavy; each dish let the natural taste of the ingredients shine through. There were so many courses that we were completely full and could hardly finish everything. We had such an enjoyable dining experience. The Room was spotless down to every detail and felt very comfortable. The open-air bath my parents were most looking forward to uses medicinal Onsen water, and they said it was incredibly relaxing with plenty of hot water in a large tub—they went in three times (laugh). In addition to yukata, there was also an in-room bathrobe, which seemed very convenient after bathing before changing into yukata. Having eight bath towels for four people was also extremely helpful! We also appreciated having toilets and sinks on both the first floor and the second floor of the maisonette. Inside the Accommodation, there were even free-to-use table tennis tables and board games, so we had lots of fun. As for why I rated Facilities/amenities 4 stars: there are some areas where stairs or steps can’t be avoided, which may be slightly inconvenient for wheelchair users. Other than that, overall this is an outstanding Accommodation—Room quality, food, service—everything was excellent.

    A Trip to Nara

Because we enjoyed our previous stay so much, we came back again. It was convenient to leave our luggage at the information center in front of Kintetsu Nara Station. The Room had an even better view than last time, and my mother was delighted. We were able to relax in a private dining room for both dinner and breakfast. The meals were delicious as well. Thank you very much.

    Scenery and Dining

This is a rare Accommodation located halfway up Mt. Wakakusa, with wonderful views from the Room. The meals were delicious and so generous we couldn’t finish them. The baths were switched between men and women at night and in the morning, so we were able to enjoy both. There is also a Mt. Wakakusa night tour; the spectacular view from the summit truly lives up to its reputation as one of Japan’s “New Three Great Night Views,” and it’s a must-see if the weather is good. It was a great trip—thank you very much.

A Trip to Celebrate My Mother’s 88th Birthday

We stayed for one night and two days. At dinner, the staff offered congratulatory words for my mother’s 88th birthday and a surprise performance, making it a truly enjoyable evening. Choosing Mikasa for our first trip to Nara was absolutely the right decision. Thank you very much!

    I am very satisfied.

We traveled to Nara with my son and his wife, our grandchildren, and a total of six people. We chose this Hotel because it is in a quiet location, has a traditional Japanese style that feels like Nara, and allowed all of us to stay together in one Room. The Room was spacious—20 tatami mats (two 10-tatami Japanese-style rooms combined)—and the grandchildren enjoyed running around and playing. There were also two toilets and two washbasins, and being next to the lobby was very convenient. The front desk staff were kind as well. When I asked if I could borrow a small screwdriver to open the battery cover on my grandchild’s toy, they opened it right away and even put in the batteries for us. Thank you very much. One disappointing point was that there was no hot water in the indoor bath when we went in during the morning, which felt a bit unfortunate. The children’s meal was also somewhat too adult-oriented, with items our children couldn’t eat (such as grilled fish with small bones), which was disappointing for our 2- and 4-year-old grandchildren. For adults, however, there were many dishes and we were very satisfied—the food was delicious. If we have another opportunity, we would like to stay again.

    Nara Trip

There is an information desk at Kintetsu Nara Station where they kindly stored our luggage, which was a big help both on arrival and departure since sightseeing in Nara involves a lot of walking. They also arranged a bus to the top of Mt. Wakakusa to see the night view, which was great fun. The food was delicious as well. All the staff were kind and welcoming with wonderful smiles, and it really showed how exceptional Japanese hospitality is.

I had a very relaxing Golden Week.

I stayed for two nights with my 81-year-old mother. The fresh greenery view from the Room was beautiful, the food was delicious, and we were very satisfied with the private dinner setting, the staff’s courteous explanations and friendly conversation at both breakfast and dinner, and the front desk service as well. They even took us by free shuttle bus to see the night view from Mt. Wakakusa, and helped by storing our luggage at an information center near Nara Station—everything felt thoughtfully taken care of, and we truly appreciated the attentive hospitality. One small disappointment was that when I requested a cold drink (cold water would have been fine) instead of matcha at check-in, it wasn’t provided. By chance, we were told that part of the bath facilities was out of order, so we used them less often than planned, but it didn’t bother us much. We stayed in a Japanese-style Room, but sitting on tatami was a bit difficult for us, so it would be helpful if there were small chairs for Japanese-style rooms. We will visit again.

    Wonderful Accommodation

This Accommodation made us feel warmly welcomed in every detail, and we were able to spend a relaxing, luxurious time. The meals offered a wide variety of dishes and were truly delicious. The private dining room also had a wonderful view of the city and cherry blossoms. We were completely satisfied with the Room and the baths.

    Excellent value for money

The service at this Accommodation felt on par with a higher price range—for example, we were offered a welcome drink and could check in while seated, and the greetings and guidance to the Room were very courteous. It was great value for the price. Getting the same level of service as an Accommodation around JPY 100,000 for about JPY 60,000–70,000 was a pleasant surprise. The Room felt a bit dated, but it was clean and there were no issues. The in-room sweets (chocolate) were also delicious. Dinner was served in a private dining room with generous portions and decent flavor; breakfast felt somewhat like a budget Ryokan with less attention to detail, but overall it was good for this price. In the large public bath, the chlorine smell in the open-air bath was noticeable, but I also enjoyed trying the medicinal indoor bath. Everyone on staff was kind, and it was an overall good Accommodation—so much so that my family said, “When we come back to Nara, we want to stay here again.”

Thank you very much for your kind support. We had a wonderful family trip.

First, I’d like to apologize. We were told we needed to check in by 6:00 p.m., but we didn’t get back down from the hike up Takatori Castle until after 5:00 p.m. In a panic I called, and was kindly told, “No problem—please come without rushing.” I was truly grateful. We ended up arriving around 6:45 p.m. Even though dinner was served in our Room, they still prepared everything properly from that time. The staff member in charge of our Room spoke with such polite Japanese that you’d never guess they were originally from Korea, and they took care of dinner while chatting with us. And the dinner—how delicious it was. We had rushed back by car and were parched, but even the tea was wonderful. The appetizers were excellent, and the two meat dishes in a row were incredible. It made me so happy to enjoy such a luxurious meal slowly and comfortably. Our family eats quite slowly, but they stayed with us without showing any displeasure at all (in the end we didn’t finish dessert before cleanup time, so we ended up eating it while they laid out our futons…). The bath was also fantastic—the therapeutic effect and aroma were perfect. Aside from me and my son, no one else came in at all. It wasn’t that it was empty; maybe our timing just worked out—but thanks to that, my son and I enjoyed a long soak together and even ended up talking about life. Needless to say, I slept soundly—even without drinking any alcohol. And breakfast: we went well past our promised 7:30 time (at this point it’s clear we’re simply a family that’s lax about time—my apologies), but even so we were able to enjoy breakfast calmly at the dining area. Both dinner and breakfast seemed like generous portions, yet it never felt too much—we finished everything because it was so good. After having coffee in the lobby, we checked out after 9:30 a.m., and they also took photos for us. Now for another apology: on some travel sites there were rather harsh Reviews about your Accommodation—for example about the building, the meals, or the service from staff. But honestly there were no issues at all. We thoroughly enjoyed everything—truly everything—and I’m very sorry for arriving feeling nervous because of those Reviews. Thank you very much for such a wonderful stay—and again I’m sorry for having doubts beforehand. We would love to stay again next time; perhaps as just a couple then. Autumn would be nice—I hope Kyoto will be quiet then as well (without any influence from big historical dramas).

    Great views and good food.

The views from the Room and the lobby were outstanding. For dinner, we enjoyed Yamato beef prepared on a hot stone and as sukiyaki, truly savoring the meat. Not only was the food delicious, but the timing of each course was impeccable—steamed dishes, clear soup, and even when to start cooking at the table were all perfectly coordinated, so everything was served at its best. It was also great that a vinegared dish was served between the meat courses. The next morning, we were given a ride by bus. We got off at Daibutsu Pond, and our luggage was kept for us at the information center in front of the station, which allowed us to sightsee hands-free and was a huge help.

    It was very good.

Everything was wonderful!! Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, but the portions were a bit large for us, and we’re truly sorry we couldn’t finish everything… We had the large public bath all to ourselves, so we could relax and were very satisfied. They also provided meals and yukata for younger children, which was very helpful. If I may make one request, we would be happy if you could also offer child-friendly amenities.

    Excellent hospitality

This is a long-established Hotel, but it has been beautifully renovated throughout. Despite being an exceptionally affordable Plan, both dinner and breakfast were satisfying. Above all, the view of the Nara Basin from the Room, especially the sunset-dyed scenery, was breathtaking. I also enjoyed a relaxing moment with coffee from the front lobby. The staff's attentive service conveyed their heartfelt hospitality and created a pleasant atmosphere in the Hotel. I would love to visit again!

I visit Nara every year and have 3–4 Accommodations I return to, but this was my first time booking two rooms with my daughter and her husband at an Accommodation with a great view of Mt. Wakakusa. It had an open-air bath and a terrace, and since it was a warm day, we were able to relax on the terrace. We enjoyed delicious meals in a private dining room with a wonderful view. It was even better than expected, and I think we’ll stay here again.

    It was very good.

The meal portions were just right, and I was happy to be served a variety of fish dishes. Breakfast was also delicious, and the rice accompaniments were especially tasty. The view from the lobby was wonderful—I went to see it many times.\nThe Japanese-style room allowed the children to relax as well. I’d like to stay again when the night view tour is available.

    Thank you.

I used this accommodation for the first time to refresh myself nearby. The view from the accommodation on the mountainside was excellent, and I enjoyed the scenery. It was a very cold day, but I warmed up with the onsen and sukiyaki dinner. Towels were provided in the bath, so it was convenient not having to bring them from or back to the room. The sukiyaki was delicious, and breakfast the next morning was also luxurious. Both meals were served in a private room where I could enjoy them at my own pace. Thank you very much!

A truly relaxing and wonderful accommodation

Every year after New Year's, our family stays at this accommodation. The lobby is truly spacious, and from the moment we arrive, we are soothed by the matcha tea and sweets prepared for us, as well as the view from the hilltop. The staff are always pleasant, allowing us to enjoy a wonderful time on every visit. Thank you as always!

    Had a great time.

Thank you for your hospitality. The meals and service were excellent. The herbal bath was also very enjoyable. The amenities were plentiful, and everyone was pleased. If I may offer one suggestion for improvement, it would be to reconsider the music played in the dining area. Perhaps a more subtle or different type of background music might be better suited.

This was my first time staying at this accommodation. I had been curious about it for a long time, and when I found a good plan this time, I decided to book it immediately. The atmosphere inside the facility felt somewhat nostalgic, and the staff who guided me were warm-hearted, which made me feel very comfortable. The room was clean, and the view from the window was beautiful and satisfying. The only downside was that the shower in the bathroom was weak (on the other hand, I was surprised by how strong the onsen shower was). Both dinner and breakfast were extremely delicious. Fortunately, I got a private dining room this time, which had an excellent atmosphere as well. Additionally, the outdoor path from my room to the onsen had a charming ambiance with breathtaking scenery that would delight those who appreciate such views. This place truly showcased what makes Nara Prefecture special. I would love to stay here again if given another opportunity!

    The sunset was beautiful.

We arrived around 5:10 PM, and the sunset visible from the lobby was stunning and memorable. While enjoying matcha and admiring the evening view, we completed check-in, which made for a naturally relaxing experience. The Room had a historical charm with a great view, and waking up to the sound of birds in the morning was delightful. Dinner was excellent and delicious, while breakfast featured flavorful rice porridge cooked with dashi broth—different from traditional plain roasted tea versions. The hospitality stood out as well; we received origami deer at the bus stop near the station, had our luggage taken care of, and experienced many thoughtful touches throughout our stay. One highlight was the sencha tea provided in our Room—it came in teabags but tasted exceptional and seemed unique to this place. Could you share where this tea is sourced?

    Just a little thing...

Located near the border of Kyoto and Nara, this accommodation offers easy access to popular attractions such as Nara Park, Kasuga Taisha Shrine, and Todai-ji Temple. Small thoughtful touches, such as providing bath towels in the bathing area (eliminating the need to bring them from the room or request replacements) and offering a complimentary drink during meals, made the stay very comfortable. Even among accommodations in the same price range, these details are not always well-considered. The meals, featuring traditional ryokan-style dishes, were delicious and highly satisfying.

This Ryokan is recommended for families with children.

This was our first trip with my mother and child. Before the birth of my second child, I decided to take a three-generation trip without my husband while I could still travel comfortably during my stable period. We chose a nearby destination, Nara, for this special occasion. I was concerned about not disturbing other travelers, so having a "Welcome Baby Plan" available was very reassuring. Thanks to this plan, we were able to travel with less luggage. Being an established Ryokan, my mother also enjoyed her stay very much. The convenience of having a luggage storage service at the station's information center made sightseeing much easier for us. The staff from the Ryokan at the information center were warm and welcoming, which made us feel relaxed and excited about our stay even before arriving at the Ryokan. Our Room had tatami flooring which delighted everyone—especially the little one who crawled around excitedly throughout our stay! However, we were slightly nervous as they moved around so actively that we worried about them breaking glass cups or damaging shoji screens or hanging scrolls. The meals served were delicate in flavor and perfectly suited our preference for light seasoning. The staff at the Ryokan warmly interacted with our child as well, making them feel safe and comfortable during their time there. We also joined a night view tour despite initial concerns about whether it would be suitable for an elderly person with poor eyesight, a pregnant woman like myself, and a toddler. However, thanks to the tall staff member from the Ryokan who drove us attentively and ensured everything went smoothly—alongside well-lit paths and slopes next to stairs—we safely enjoyed breathtaking views together. On departure day too, we received such thoughtful care that exceeded all expectations! What initially seemed like it might be challenging turned into an unforgettable trip filled with wonderful memories thanks to everyone's kindness. Thank you very much!

I was healed by the hospitality and abundant nature.

We had a wonderful stay during our four-generation family trip. On a hot day, we were grateful to wait at the shuttle service information desk until the shuttle departed. From the shuttle service to the front desk and guidance to our room, everyone provided such warm and pleasant hospitality that it made us excited for the day ahead. The private open-air bath in our room was automatically adjustable for comfort at any time, and there were chairs outside where we could relax in bathrobes after soaking, which felt very luxurious. Although one of the chairs seemed slightly worn out (hence one star deducted), we enjoyed using both the private bath with just a button press in the morning and also visiting the large public baths multiple times. Our room was located slightly away from other areas but being on the ground floor allowed children to play freely without worrying about disturbing anyone below. The accommodation also provided kids' shampoo and amenities, making it very family-friendly. Meals were served in a private dining space where we could enjoy them leisurely. The food was delicious; however, it was unfortunate that we couldn’t finish everything. A smaller portion course option for elderly guests would be appreciated. Situated atop a mountain, this accommodation offers an excellent location with plenty of greenery all around and stunning night views that are truly relaxing. However, due to its location, there are some steps here and there which made mobility slightly challenging for my 80-year-old mother (hence another star deducted). Despite this minor issue with facilities, everyone agreed they would love to stay here again after an incredibly satisfying 1-night-2-day trip. Lastly, on our way back via shuttle service routes—where boarding or alighting is possible at designated spots—we got off at Nara Park while having our luggage stored separately at their information desk. This allowed us to explore freely without carrying heavy bags even after checking out from this wonderful accommodation. Thank you so much!

Shuttle service and luggage storage near Kintetsu Nara Station were very helpful. It was a very quiet and pleasant accommodation located on the hillside of a primeval forest. The sounds of birds like nightingales were soothing. The open-air bath in the room was also excellent. The staff at the accommodation were kind and hospitable. It was a great refreshment. We look forward to staying again!
