This was an Accommodation I had been interested in for some time. The hot water was pleasantly warm, so I could soak and relax at length. The meals were excellent, and I also ordered grilled sesame tofu as an extra. It was exquisite. Overall, the service was very good, and I would like to visit again.

Luxurious and indulgent dome tent stay

I’d been wanting to stay in a dome tent, and while searching I found Omatsukaku’s “Tenku no Mori” glamping. The dome tent was larger than I imagined, with a high ceiling and plenty of space inside. Because it’s truly in the forest, the view from the tent is lush greenery and tall trees. You can hear birdsong even inside, and if you listen closely you can even hear a nearby river—an amazing location surrounded by nature. And yet, just a 2–3 minute walk away there’s a Ryokan where you can use the Onsen, and enjoy both dinner and breakfast at the Ryokan at a relaxed pace—such a luxurious experience. I’d hesitated about tents because many don’t have toilets, but here there are clean toilets and washbasins right outside the tent. There’s no need to walk along an uncovered path at night, so it felt safe even with children. The washbasin is for handwashing only, and we were told to use the water dispenser for brushing teeth, which was slightly inconvenient—but it also made me realize that if I call this “inconvenient,” camping would definitely not be for me (laugh). Since it’s in nature, the website notes that insects may get in—and as expected for a tent in the forest, there are some bugs. Apparently stink bugs can show up sometimes (they even provide tape), but we didn’t encounter any. I’m not good with insects myself, but I was fine. If you absolutely can’t handle even small bugs under any circumstances, this might not be for you. We were also able to use the Accommodation guests’ lounge and library. They had drinks such as coffee and tea, plus small snacks and ice cream—an incredibly comfortable space. If you like beer, unlimited beer in the lounge is hard to resist. The library also has lots of manga; my son loved it so much he didn’t want to leave. For me too, it was refreshing to find books I wouldn’t normally pick up—I really enjoyed reading. The Onsen private bath (rock bath) and public bath aren’t huge, but they were very clean and relaxing. From the large glass window in the public bath you can see greenery all around—it felt wonderful. Dinner menus change every two months, so I’d love to visit again in another season. Breakfast was especially delicious: gentle Japanese-style dishes that truly matched their phrase “a kind breakfast for your just-awakened body.” The homemade tofu, chirimen-jako (dried baby sardines), and steamed vegetables were particularly tasty—I felt happy from first thing in the morning. Both adults and children were completely satisfied—it was an excellent stay overall. This is an Accommodation I’d definitely love to visit again.

    It was very comfortable.

The lounge offered drinks, ice cream, and small snacks, which was very convenient as it was available even before check-in and after check-out. The staff were also friendly and attentive, making the stay very pleasant.

Close to Ikebukuro and highly satisfying for a relaxing stay!

We stayed overnight while visiting Lake Miyazawa from Hanno. They offered a pick-up service to the station, which was great since taxis can be quite expensive. It’s a wonderful place to relax. We didn’t have much time for a walk around the area, but you might feel that refreshing “forest air” vibe in the valley (just the atmosphere!). Everyone—the front desk staff, attendants, and the proprietress—was polite and friendly, which made us very satisfied. The meals were delicious, and they were very accommodating with our child’s allergies. It was a rare chance for us to travel, and we had a great time. The bath is simple but thoughtfully arranged down to the details. I was especially happy to enjoy a morning bath for the first time in a while. We’d love to drop by again. Thank you very much!

A Relaxing Day Off After Work

I checked into an Accommodation close to the city center after work. At this time of year, the lobby is beautifully decorated for Hinamatsuri, which was very soothing. After that, I enjoyed a draft beer in the lounge and was able to use the free private bath once. Having a large bath all to myself felt like a luxury. I relaxed and unwound in the Onsen. The next morning, breakfast was a classic Japanese set meal made with plenty of local ingredients, and it was delicious. After eating, I had coffee in the lounge and could take my time until check-out. One disappointing point was that even when it was time to sleep in my Room, noise from the floor above and the neighboring Room carried quite a bit, and I couldn’t sleep. Perhaps it’s due to the building’s structure, but sudden loud noises kept me awake.

    The food is delicious.

This was my first visit. The shuttle service to and from Hanno Station was very helpful. Above all, the food was delicious. I enjoyed the Onsen multiple times at a leisurely pace. I would love to visit again!

Autumn Delight: Satisfying Mushroom Hot Pot

It had been a while since we visited in the autumn, as we couldn't come last year. We always look forward to seeing what lovely changes have been made to the accommodation, and this time, when we stopped by the lounge after check-in, there was complimentary beer waiting for us. It was such a thoughtful gesture after returning from golf and taking a bath. This time, dinner was served at a relaxed pace, allowing us to fully enjoy the delicious dishes. One of our favorite highlights is always the mushroom hot pot that comes later in the meal—it's so good that it makes us want to stay here every autumn just for it. As expected, it was absolutely delicious; we savored every last drop of the broth. It was an evening filled with relaxation and just the right amount of hospitality—the cool mountain breeze truly soothed our summer-weary hearts.

    We chose this locati...

We chose this location because it was close to the city center, making it convenient to bring our elderly parents. We opted for the dining course at the mountain teahouse, assuming it would be of higher quality due to its higher price. However, we were unaware that the restaurant was located on a steep slope and required guests to remove their shoes at the entrance. In hindsight, in-room dining would have been a better choice. Although we were informed that the course meal would take two hours, dishes were served quickly and everything was finished within an hour. While we enjoyed the salad and appetizers, most of the meat consisted of fatty portions. The onsen experience was excellent with plenty of towels provided and a wide range of amenities available. The option to reserve a private bath for free once during our stay was also fantastic. Additionally, breakfast made with local ingredients left a positive impression. The lounge offered unlimited Master’s Dream beer and Sayama tea tasting, along with charming toys placed on each table—these thoughtful touches added to our enjoyment. While all staff members were very pleasant and attentive, I unfortunately injured my foot on glass shards embedded in the room's rug. I left a note suggesting more thorough cleaning but received no follow-up communication regarding this incident. I had hoped for some form of acknowledgment or concern about what happened but found this lack of response very disappointing.

A wonderful accommodation found near Tokyo!

I visited with my daughter and granddaughter, making it a three-generation trip for women. The meals were incredibly delicious, and both the large public bath and the open-air bath were wonderful. We also enjoyed the private baths with unique designs. The conversation lounge and reading lounge were thoughtfully designed for guests to relax. My granddaughter was thrilled with the kids' space. Having in-room dining was very convenient with children around. I think this accommodation is enjoyable whether you come as a family or alone. If I had to mention any drawbacks, it would be that the yukata smelled musty, and the pillow was too hard for a good night's sleep. Next time, I’d love to visit with my entire family!

    A relaxing accommodation.

We stayed at the accommodation to celebrate my daughter's birthday. Since she loves reading, the lounge filled with books was very relaxing. Additionally, we enjoyed a variety of drinks like herbal tea in the two lounges. The wooden ornaments placed throughout the facility were also very charming! Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. Although dinner was excellent, we felt sorry for leaving some food as our family tends to eat small portions. The onsen had a perfect temperature—not too hot—and we appreciated thoughtful touches like Sayama tea and ice cream after bathing. There were also activities like table tennis, which added to the fun experience. The staff at the front desk were incredibly kind; they even wished my daughter a happy birthday, which made her very happy. It was so comfortable that I wished we could have stayed for two nights instead of just one! We would love to visit again! Thank you so much!

    First Glamping Experience

I stayed at Accommodation Kibitaki. The view from the room was stunning, and the design was stylish and comfortable. The large public bath and private family bath were also very relaxing. Above all, the kaiseki dinner was exceptional, making me want to visit again in a different season. The warm hospitality of the staff made it a truly fulfilling stay. Thank you very much!

    I stayed in a glampi...

I stayed in a glamping site. The amenities were the same as a regular Room, allowing for a comfortable stay. Dinner was kaiseki cuisine, with almost every dish offering innovative flavors that amazed me—I was impressed by the chef's creative ideas. The lobby lounge was also excellent. The only area for improvement would be to provide an emergency contact tool in the glamping site.

    Excellent

The service and cuisine were both excellent. During the shuttle service to the main building, I was deeply moved by the driver's thoughtful gesture of promptly providing a step stool to assist my mother, who has back issues, in getting in and out of the car. When we went to the main building for breakfast, we had already settled our bill beforehand and left without expressing our gratitude, which was impolite of us. I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you. I will stay again if I have another chance.

Easily Accessible Onsen from the City Center

On the first floor, there is a kids' room, and the lounge features educational toys on each table, making it a family-friendly Japanese-style accommodation for those with small children. While it offers a traditional atmosphere and nice views suitable for adult families as well, the presence of many families with children under elementary school age made it somewhat noisy, which was a downside. The overall ambiance of the accommodation and the staff's hospitality were good. The room we stayed in had a toilet but no bath. This could be inconvenient for guests who cannot use the public bath during certain times (fortunately, this wasn’t an issue for us). The room itself was narrow and of an older style—a single Japanese-style room with an additional small veranda-like space containing a sink. The meals consisted of healthy mountain cuisine that was delicious; however, considering the high prices during Golden Week and comparing it to what was offered overall, I felt that the cost-performance ratio wasn’t great. Therefore, I rated it 3 stars out of 5.

Relax and enjoy quality time at our serene accommodation.

Take the Seibu Ikebukuro Line's Limited Express Laview and arrive in Hanno in just 40 minutes from Ikebukuro. Arriving around noon, I explored the area around Hanno Station until my reserved bus at 3:00 PM. The hotel's bus took about 30 minutes to reach the accommodation. The lounge next to the front desk is surrounded by lush greenery, offering coffee and tea. The fresh water from Naguri is exceptionally delicious. My room was a corner room on the third floor called "Karigaya." It had large windows with stunning views of green mountains, and when opened, you could hear the soothing sound of a river—a truly wonderful room. From the window of the private bath in my room, I could also enjoy views of verdant mountains—pure luxury. Dinner was served in-room as Miyama Kaiseki cuisine. Each dish reflected seasonal flavors and was absolutely delicious. I added hot sake infused with river fish bones, which paired perfectly with the meal. Breakfast was served in a spacious hall on the second floor, where views from the windows resembled framed paintings. Every dish—from tofu to natto—was delightful and felt nourishing for both body and soul. Thank you for an excellent experience with both meals and baths!

    A well-balanced accommodation

I was amazed by the thoughtful attention to detail throughout the accommodation. It truly is a place where all your needs are anticipated, with no compromises on furnishings and exceptional taste. I particularly enjoyed the reading lounge and table tennis room, which were highly satisfying. Although I didn’t have high expectations for the meals (thinking they would be typical Ryokan fare), I was pleasantly surprised by the delicious kaiseki cuisine that exceeded my expectations. I would love to visit again, but here are a few points of concern: - Since my parents are elderly, we requested chairs for in-room dining; however, a large (almost too large) table remained in the room even after dinner, creating a sense of confinement when it was time to sleep. It would have been helpful if this had been communicated beforehand or if it could have been covered with fabric or moved into the hallway. Additionally, as it was placed near the window, we had to climb over it to open and close the shoji screens, which was inconvenient. - We stayed in a room on the 4th floor but were disturbed by constant motor noises ("whirring" sounds) throughout the night that made it difficult to sleep. Is there any way this can be addressed?

    This is our children...

This is our children's favorite ryokan. This time, we stayed as a family of four with a 5-year-old and an infant. The kids' play area, complimentary ice cream, and the koi swimming in the lobby kept even the little ones entertained. However, it's not just child-focused; the lounge drinks and meals are delicious, making it enjoyable for adults as well. The proprietress and staff are always kind to children, which makes it comfortable for families with kids to stay without feeling out of place. If I may make one suggestion, it would be great if the water temperature in the private baths could be slightly lowered as it was a bit hot.

    The service is excellent.

I stayed for one night to celebrate my mother's birthday. The Japanese-style room with an Onsen was spacious and comfortable, featuring a conversation area. The meals made with local ingredients were incredibly delicious, and the beautifully arranged dishes like the dinner appetizers were a feast for the eyes as well. The Onsen and the lounge space full of hospitality were also wonderful. I was surprised to find such a Ryokan in the metropolitan area and felt grateful for this encounter. Although my mother caused some trouble, everyone responded kindly and always with a smile, which I deeply appreciate. My mother also mentioned that she could relax peacefully. I hope to visit again when I have another opportunity. Thank you very much!

    Everyone is completely satisfied.

This was my first time using Oomatsukaku. Upon arrival, I was warmly welcomed by the staff (Phew) and surprised by the complimentary soft drink service (Oh). The view from the bath was delightful (Wow), and we enjoyed a leisurely and delicious dinner in our Room (Wow). Everyone was very satisfied (Yay). We have decided to repeat during the matsutake mushroom season.

    I enjoyed it.

I stayed one night in the Humming Room. I chose the sukiyaki pot that can be served in the room. I was satisfied, but it seems the children were not very impressed. There was a wood stove in the room, and outside there were tools for easily splitting wood, which was enjoyable. The kitchen was well-equipped, so it seems suitable for cooking with No Meals Included. It felt like a Vacation Rental. This time it was February, so I would like to visit in the summer next time.

    A relaxing space

The room and lobby are spacious, providing a nostalgic and relaxing atmosphere. The Japanese tea and the famous water of Naguri are simply delicious. I thought I found the water that suits me. During my previous stay, I was impressed by the delicious boar hot pot, so I chose to make a reservation during the game season again this time, but for some reason, it didn't taste as good as before. It's a mystery whether I idealized it in my memory or if there's a difference in the taste of the boar. The proprietress and the staff were all kind. Since it's close to my home, I would like to repeat my stay.

    Worth a repeat!

We visited as a couple. Arrived in 30 minutes from Hanno Station by the property's shuttle service. The staff were kind and check-in was smooth. After a delicious lunch at the affiliated restaurant, Yama no Chaya, we went to our room. The spacious room in the new building was very comfortable, and the futon was so cozy that we slept soundly. The onsen water warmed our bodies, leaving us feeling pleasantly warm, and we enjoyed dinner in the room. The taste, temperature, service, and portion of the meal were satisfying (even for someone with a big appetite like me). We would like to visit again soon.

I was really looking forward to it, but...

I stayed at the whole rental property, Humming. I have stayed at whole rental properties several times, but this one is quite luxurious in price. However, the property's reviews were very good, and I was looking forward to relaxing for a change. The facility itself was well-maintained, and the autumn leaves were wonderful. In the room, there were various games and instructions on how to use the fireplace, showing consideration for guests to enjoy their stay. Minus one star because there was no heating in the bathroom, which made it very cold, and there was no phone in the room. However, I questioned whether the service was worth the price. First, there was no valet service, and you had to drive directly to the facility. Check-in was done by contacting the property from your smartphone, with only verbal explanations. Detailed explanations were on YouTube, which was very curt. Also, I chose a plan with dinner and breakfast included, but for dinner, there were only ingredients for beef sukiyaki and udon in the refrigerator. There were no side dishes or desserts. Up to this point, I thought, well, okay... but I strongly felt that breakfast needed reconsideration. The top photo attached is from the site, and the bottom is the actual one. I expected it to be the same or better than the site's photo, but honestly, I was disappointed the moment I saw it. Moreover, the breakfast venue and time were fixed, requiring a walk of over 10 minutes uphill, and everyone started at the same time in a large hall, which is unthinkable at this price range. It seemed that guests staying in the main building were given preferential seating. I was so shocked that I was silent on the way back. We talked about how it would have been better to choose a plan without meals, but there was no guide to nearby restaurants, and we didn't want to cook while on vacation, so it couldn't be helped... I believe the price of a luxury property includes service. Especially breakfast, which strongly influences the impression of the property. I could understand if it were about half the price, but perhaps they should learn from properties with similar services. It was very disappointing because the facility was so good.

    Weekday 1 night with baby

We stayed with our 4-month-old baby (grandchild). The staff at the Stays were very considerate, allowing my daughter, who wanted to visit the Onsen after giving birth, to enjoy both the meals and the Onsen. The whole family was very satisfied with the stay. Thank you for taking care of us.

    A little mistake

I splurged and made a reservation at Humming because I had my elderly mother with me. Given the slope and rain, I was grateful for the shuttle service to the main building multiple times, but the ceramic bath at Humming lacks handrails and is not suitable for the elderly. The meals were ordinary for the price, and the interior felt lacking in cohesion. Satisfaction would increase if it were half the price, but for the amount paid this time, there are many places with better amenities, towels, and meals. However, the overall service, especially the phone response, was excellent.

I want to make it my regular Stays!

This is my second stay. No matter how many times I stay, it's still a great property!! If you have small children, this is a property you should definitely visit! There is a kids' space where children can play with toys while parents enjoy reading or coffee in the adjacent lounge. This time, I ordered the limited-time matsutake kaiseki. The matsutake mushrooms were used abundantly, and I thought that if you ate this much matsutake in Tokyo, the matsutake kaiseki alone would cost at least 50,000 yen. Anyway, all the staff are very kind and provide very pleasant service. I had a very meaningful time again!
