    A curt response

The front desk staff were not smiling, and their responses felt overly businesslike, which was disappointing. I had forgotten to add breakfast, but they simply said, “Oh, breakfast isn’t included,” in a curt manner. I wish they had smiled and said, “I’ll add breakfast for you.” When I asked, “Do you have a humidifier?” they replied bluntly, “This Room doesn’t have one.” I wish they had smiled and said, “I’ll bring one right away.” Breakfast was good, with unique options such as Navy curry rather than the usual standard items.

    Close to shopping facilities

The restaurant is closed on weekdays. Most guests are foreigners. Due to body odor or strong perfume, the Hotel, elevators, and Rooms may smell. Because there are few Hotels nearby, accommodation rates are high even on weekdays.

    Mercure Yokosuka Hot...

Mercure Yokosuka Hotel was a lovely Hotel. The toilet and bathroom were combined, but it was comfortable, and the staff were pleasant.

    Reunion

We reserved 8 rooms for the reunion. Since we booked early, we stayed in double-bed single-use rooms for 9,900 yen per person (room only). Great value!

    Thank you for your patronage.

We stayed as a family for our wedding anniversary. The Hotel's traditional elegance, clean rooms, and thoughtful amenities like extension cords and hair irons left a positive impression. The cleanliness was impeccable and truly commendable. It would have been convenient if the pajamas were available in a larger size. Thank you very much!

    The location is excellent.

The high-floor bay view with separate living and bedroom areas was excellent. The TV offered access to YouTube, TVer, and many other content options, making the time spent indoors very enjoyable. It was unfortunate that the loose cash I dropped inside the Hotel was not found, but overall, the Hotel was great. It would have been even better if the amenities included a brush instead of a comb.

    Simple and nice

The Room is small but has a simple and nice design. It is well-cleaned, though the age of the property is noticeable. The front desk staff provided polite service.

    Bitten by lice?

The cleaning was not thorough in areas such as behind the curtains and along the edges of the walls, and there were a few small transparent insects. After staying for two nights, I noticed several insect bites on my neck and other areas. On 7/4, I reported this issue to the Hotel and requested improvements. However, I felt that the staff member who handled my call lacked sincerity, leaving me with an unpleasant impression despite making the effort to reach out. As I would like to continue using Mercure Hotel in the future, I kindly request efforts to improve cleaning and disinfection practices.

    Mercure was said to ...

Mercure was said to have a lounge and delicious buffet, but it turned out to be just an accommodation for staying overnight with nothing else. The price did not match the experience. Very disappointing.

The facility is outdated, so we won't return.

Is it because it's in Yokosuka? Or is it because it's a Mercure? The Facility is too outdated, especially the bathroom. This feels worse than a Business Hotel. The breakfast is not tasty either.

    View

I stayed for one night as I had business in the Kanagawa area. The view of Yokosuka Port from the Room was stunning and breathtaking. There are many attractions within walking distance, and it was especially convenient for the naval port tour. Next time, I would like to stay longer and explore more.

We used it for a family trip.

Stayed for one night starting from 4/26 for a family trip. The hotel is a high-rise building located right in front of Keikyu Shioiri Station, offering an excellent location. Due to our travel schedule, we were able to leave our luggage in the morning before check-in, which was very helpful. After completing check-in past 2 PM and entering the room, we were greeted with an amazing view from the window. The room was much more spacious than expected and very comfortable. One minor downside was that the air conditioning controls were somewhat difficult to understand, and we couldn’t adjust it to our preferred temperature despite trying. The amenities included wooden toothbrushes, razors, and combs with thoughtful designs—not cheap plastic ones—which was a nice touch. As for the TV, it could rotate towards both the sofa side and bed side, which was convenient; however, while there were buttons on the remote for CS channels as well as Netflix and YouTube access, they weren’t available without subscriptions or setup. It would have been better if these features were either accessible or instructions on how to use them had been provided. In any case, I gave up on watching TV and instead enjoyed spending time admiring the stunning view from the window! The next morning’s breakfast exceeded expectations—I headed to the venue first thing in anticipation! You could choose your egg dish from scrambled eggs, omelets, or eggs benedict; I opted for eggs benedict. By the time I returned with my selections from the buffet corner back at my table—perfect timing—the dish had been served fresh! Everything tasted fantastic without complaint. The buffet itself offered stylishly presented dishes with both Japanese and Western options available—ideal even for Multiple Night Stays! They also featured two types of Yokosuka’s specialty Navy Curry so you could enjoy comparing them—a delightful experience. Initially considered staying around Yokosuka-Chuo area but found this hotel offered great value overall satisfaction-wise!

    Satisfaction

The Room was spacious, and having a microwave was great. There were toothbrushes provided, but I had to look for the toothpaste as it was placed separately.

    The amenities were excellent!

This was my first stay at this accommodation. As mentioned in other reviews, the building does feel a bit old. However, I absolutely loved the in-room amenities. The shampoo, conditioner, and hand soap were all from an Italian brand with a natural herbal scent. They felt great to use and helped me sleep soundly. From the window, I could see submarines and other sights that gave a true Yokosuka vibe. The breakfast buffet at the hotel was average—neither outstanding nor disappointing. (I ordered two egg dishes à la carte: Eggs Benedict and pancakes, but unfortunately neither met my expectations... though personal taste may vary.)

    French hotels have delicious breakfasts.

The hotel we arrived at after a drive around the Miura Peninsula. The nearby Japanese restaurant recommended by the front desk was excellent! The young man at the front desk has good taste. The room is clean. The sofa in the suite was already made up as a bed for the third person. As expected from a French-style breakfast buffet, it was delicious. If I had to say, there is a step about 10 centimeters high from the bathroom, which was difficult for my mother who walks with a cane and myself who uses crutches. Without this, it would be perfect.

Do you want to view the naval port from the side or from above?

This was my first time using this service. This year, I saw on social media that various warships from different countries visited, which sparked my curiosity about Yokosuka Port, leading me to travel there. First of all, the location is excellent. There is a shopping mall and a station nearby, making it very easy to find. Travelers like me, who tend to get lost, usually wander around anxiously until reaching the Hotel, but I was able to arrive smoothly. I arrived quite early before the check-in time because I got there so quickly, but the front desk staff kindly accommodated me in an irregular manner. However, to avoid any misunderstanding, please note that luggage storage before check-in and early check-in are generally not available or uncertain. Please keep this in mind. The front desk staff's service was excellent, and they kindly lent me a smartphone charger and took my takeout order. Yes, takeout. There is a bistro inside the Mercure that offers takeout. There is a brochure in the Room with photos, making it easy to imagine. From the description, it seems that drinks, including alcohol, can also be purchased at the bistro. Of course, you can also dine in instead of taking out. Dining while gazing at the illuminated naval port at night would surely be atmospheric. If the location is good, you can enjoy a meal while viewing the U.S. Navy's port and warships, as well as the Japanese Navy's port and warships, through a single glass pane. If you have an ocean view Room, you can enjoy this almost identical view without worrying about your surroundings. You can see the various silhouettes of the ports and ships, from their appearance in the afternoon sun, dyed in the sunset, illuminated in the night darkness, to shining in the morning sun. You can enjoy this while reading a book, lying down, drinking, or working. It's the best. There are probably people with knowledge of warships and naval ports throughout the whole country, but perhaps only those who have stayed at the Mercure Hotel know this view, though that might be an exaggeration. By the way, there is also a FamilyMart nearby, which is convenient for small shopping needs. The breakfast buffet offers the famous navy curry. There is a wide variety of salads, side dishes, and bread, and you can choose from four types of egg dishes, which is delightful. I definitely want to visit this Hotel again.

    It was convenient.

Located right in front of Shioiri Station, it is very convenient. Across the crosswalk, there is a large shopping mall, making shopping and dining easy. Next to the mall, there is a lovely park facing the sea, perfect for a walk. You can also see warships and submarines, giving a sense of Yokosuka. Walking through Dobuita Street, the city center is about a 10-minute walk away, making the location excellent. The Room had a refrigerator with a microwave and freezer. I would like to use it again.

I am very pleased with it.

When staying in Yokosuka, I always choose this Property. I usually bring my own shampoo, but I particularly like the provided shampoo, so I can travel with less luggage. Although it is somewhat old, it is kept clean, so I can stay comfortably. This time, I used a Plan that included access to the lounge, where coffee, tea, YOGA drinks, Shonan Gold Cider, and mineral water were available. I was also grateful for the chocolates and nuts.

    The breakfast is delicious.

This was my fourth stay. Every time I think about it, the breakfast menu is renewed and delicious, making it hard to believe it's a Business Hotel. You can see the sea from the window, and the staff's hospitality was excellent, allowing me to fully enjoy a relaxing morning. I was also able to relax in the spacious Room, and the free drinks were plentiful and satisfying. I will use it again. Thank you very much!

I had a very comfortable stay.

The Room and the bath were thoroughly cleaned, allowing us to rest with peace of mind. It would have been nice to have two bottles of water if possible.

It would be satisfactory as a high-end business hotel, but if it were at the regular rate, it would leave some dissatisfaction.

It seems that about 30 years have passed since the opening of the predecessor Hotel, but the floors and wallpaper appear to have been updated. They seem to be conscious of the SDGs, reducing plastic products like card keys and amenities, but the paper bag toothpaste was difficult to use. Due to the location, there were many American guests, and perhaps to cater to them, the bathtub was long, but unfortunately, it lacked depth, which was disappointing for Japanese guests who want to soak up to their shoulders. For breakfast, there were several handmade dishes from the Hotel's kitchen, as well as a variety of international and local flavors like hamburgers, chili beans, and navy curry, showing creativity. However, the selection of Japanese dishes was mediocre, and the shortcuts like serving diluted instant miso soup from a server were concerning. This time, with a high-discount Plan, the price was about that of a high-end Business Hotel, but since the Facility and services were lacking for a city hotel, it would have felt overpriced at the rack rate.
