    Both the Room and th...

    Both the Room and the service were outstanding! I especially loved how close it is to the shopping street... I was also impressed that amenities such as L’OCCITANE shampoo were provided separately! I’d love to stay again!

    Staff training is required.

    The staff seemed well-meaning and genuinely nice, so I didn’t feel like complaining, but it was clear that staff training was lacking. For example, after check-in, the man who escorted us to our Room walked briskly ahead even though the two of us (both female guests) were dragging large suitcases. He did turn around and call out, “Are you okay?” but made no attempt to help with our luggage. At the restaurant, even though we had only just started eating, they brought the main plate at an odd time. Worse still, there was no space on the table yet for the main dish, but the staff member simply stood beside our table holding it and waited for us to rearrange and clear space ourselves. When I said, “There’s nowhere to put it yet,” he replied, “Oh, you can’t?” and walked away. In addition, at checkout we had asked them to call a taxi. A taxi arrived earlier than scheduled, but a staff member sent it away saying there was “no place for it to wait,” without saying anything to us in the lobby. When we asked whether a taxi had come already, he only answered, “I’m not sure.” It was very disappointing—this Hotel could hardly be described as offering attentive hospitality. As for the food: completely average. It wasn’t bad, but nothing stood out as particularly good. Since we came all the way to Ehime I expected at least tai-meshi (sea bream rice), but while there was sea bream sashimi available, there was no broth provided for tai-meshi preparation; local specialties were limited to things like jakoten. Is this really what you should expect from an Accommodation that costs 30,000 yen per person? On a positive note: the bathtub in our Room was made of Tobe-yaki pottery; face towels were also provided at the large public bath; and the open-air bath was fairly nice.

    A convenient and lovely accommodation.

    Located just behind the Dogo Onsen Main Building, with excellent access to the shopping arcade and other nearby areas. This time we stayed in an annex, and the Room was spacious, clean, and each Room had its own bath. We would love to stay here again.

    Your first stay in decades

    I learned that the detached guest rooms were available again for the first time in decades, so I decided to stay here. The meals offered a wide variety of dishes, served in many small bowls that were easy to enjoy, and both breakfast and dinner were very delicious. I used the main building’s bath, which warmed me up and was very relaxing. However, there were a few disappointing points during this stay. The Room also had a bath, but it was cold outside that day, so an open-air bath with free-flowing water would have been preferable. Also, since I arrived early on the day of my stay, I asked about parking and was told that overnight guests could use it only from 3:00 p.m. because it was reserved for lunch customers; however, the website stated it could be used from 12:00 p.m., and no information about any affiliated parking was provided. While the cleaning seemed thorough overall, an information sheet from the previous guest was left behind. In addition, the TV channels would not change, which was also disappointing. I have mentioned several points here in hopes they can be reviewed to improve guest satisfaction. That said, the location is very convenient with good access, and in that respect I was extremely satisfied and made many wonderful memories. Thank you very much.

    The customer service was terrible.

    At check-in, I was shown to a Room different from the one I had reserved, and I pointed out the mistake. At first, they said my Reservation had been changed, but when I showed them the email from my Reservation, I was kept waiting for a while and then told they had actually shown me the wrong guest’s Room by mistake. They asked me to move to another Room at the same price. If I hadn’t noticed, they would have left me in the wrong Room. I couldn’t accept their attitude of trying to show me a Room without saying anything, and even though I specifically chose my Room when making the Reservation (there are three special Rooms with different concepts), they acted as if it was all the same—so I refused. They said they would ask the guest who had been mistakenly assigned my Room to move instead. They inspected the Room briefly and replaced anything that had been used. As a result, getting into my Room was delayed by over 30 minutes. It was supposed to be a luxury Ryokan stay, so this was truly disappointing. I don’t think I will ever go again. The Room and meals were great, but the service was unbelievably bad.

    The in-room Onsen was wonderful.

    We stayed in a detached annex, and the Room was clean. The Onsen was especially wonderful. I was a little surprised that the wooden floor in the bath area felt uneven, but otherwise we were very satisfied. Since this is Ehime, I would have loved to see mandarin orange juice and some local specialties from Ehime or Matsuyama at breakfast.

    The Onsen in the room is excellent.

    I stayed at Chaharu Hanare Dogo Yumezo. The first thing that amazed me was its excellent location, right next to the Dogo Onsen Honkan. Plus, the price for this level of access is truly satisfying. The onsen in the room was very comfortable, allowing me to enjoy a luxurious soak at any time I liked. The meals were buffet-style but each dish was carefully prepared and never boring; the melt-in-your-mouth texture of Matsuyama eggplant left a lasting impression. It would have been more convenient if the smoking area were closer, but overall, I was extremely satisfied. This accommodation is an excellent choice for enjoying a trip to Dogo Onsen.

    Overall, it looks great.

    Overall, it was good, but the meals were buffet-style, so I would rate it 3 stars. The Facility had slightly narrow beds. It would be better if there were no gaps between the beds, as both of us ended up stuck in the gap.

    Highly recommended.

    This price for this room was amazing! It even includes an Onsen, and to my surprise, it's the same Onsen as Dogo Onsen. The view was great, and I had a relaxing time in the clean room. Although I didn't include meals, the location is very convenient with Dogo Onsen right in front. I would love to stay here again.

    Did I expect too much...?

    I chose this accommodation because of the good reviews. Since I only stopped by Dogo as part of another trip, I stayed on the 2nd floor of the annex. The location was excellent. I personally liked that there was an underground parking lot. The service varied depending on the staff, but I felt that new employees should have someone accompanying them for better assistance. I opted for a plan with both dinner and breakfast included, but in hindsight, just having breakfast would have been enough. If you choose the dinner buffet option, it’s best not to set high expectations. (For those who are fine with anything edible, go ahead.) There seemed to be a French dining option as well, but since there are plenty of places to eat outside in Dogo, I recommend exploring those instead. I appreciated having a private bath in my room; however, it felt like the floor was damaged and might give way at any moment, so I ended up using the main building's facilities instead. As for the room itself, some areas were not thoroughly cleaned and parts like torn shoji screens were disappointing. On a positive note, the amenities were great!

    Plush Bathrobes & Pajamas

    The room was "Hanaan," featuring charming floral decorations such as flowers arranged at the entrance, flower-patterned tiles in the bathroom, and a matching sink. The scent of new tatami mats was delightful. The bed had a Tempur mattress, offering a snug and comfortable sleep; however, it felt slightly cramped for us as a couple. A semi-double size would have been ideal! My husband loved the fluffy bathrobe (Imabari towel?), while I appreciated the high-quality pajamas—both were superior to those at any other Ryokan or Hotel we've stayed at. However, there were some inconsistencies: the room's table seemed old, and the hairdryer was quite standard compared to other amenities. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the dining experience. Despite making our reservation three months in advance, we couldn't enjoy French cuisine (was the restaurant closed?). For breakfast, only "Chaharu" buffet next door was available. At the buffet venue—despite having many staff members—the plates weren't cleared promptly; there were two instances of dishes breaking during our meal; and even though the coffee machine was broken, it remained unattended. There wasn't even a greeting from staff members. Additionally, check-in and check-out procedures had to be done at the main building since "Yumezo" was closed during our stay—it seemed like staffing rotations weren't managed efficiently. While it's clear that efforts have been made to renovate this older building into something lovely, we hope for warmer and more attentive service in future stays!

    Excellent!

    The staff were very polite, and I was extremely satisfied. I had used the main building before, but this time I felt like I experienced a higher level of luxury. The hallway connecting the accommodation's entrance to the room had a charming atmosphere, and the bath was excellent. I would love to stay again.

    It was very good.

    We stayed during the February holiday. We couldn't find the parking lot or the separate building, so we checked with the front desk in front of what seemed to be the main building. They told us it was correct, but it turned out to be just a hotel, not a separate building, which was disappointing. Upon further inquiry, we learned that the separate building is a five-story annex built next to the hotel with its own reception desk. The elevator only goes up to the fourth floor; after that, it's stairs. The guide lady was apologetic, but no worries—the top floor is amazing. It's designed like an attic room with Dogo Onsen Main Building right below us; both indoor and outdoor baths in our room use the same hot spring source as Dogo Onsen. Down at Dogo Onsen Main Building there were long lines of over 100 people waiting for their turn while we enjoyed our bath overlooking them—pure bliss! There are two toilets and even though it's small there's a loft too! It feels like they squeezed everything in so you have to duck through something like sliding doors to get outside—it’s a bit tough but adds charm and fun! Dinner was French cuisine almost exclusive for guests staying at this annex—it was delicious! Service was attentive; when asked about karaoke places they went out of their way researching and recommended two snack bars instead—very helpful indeed! This room would surely delight families traveling together—thank you very much! Breakfast buffet inside Hotel is quite ordinary though I wonder if there’s an option having breakfast where dinner served? If so will try next time—a day full of satisfaction indeed

    It was close to Dogo...

    It was close to Dogo Onsen Honkan, making it convenient for walks and shopping. Being a detached building, it was nice not having to encounter many people, allowing for a more relaxed stay.

    I stayed at Hana-an....

    I stayed at Hana-an. The bright Japanese-modern room was very comfortable, and with the floor heating, I was able to relax a lot. The bed mattress was also conducive to a good night's sleep and was comfortable. Above all, the water in the room bath was excellent. It was richer than the water at Dogo Onsen Honkan, and my skin became smooth. It was the first time I was impressed by the water in a room bath. Yukata, pajamas, and bathrobes were provided, allowing me to relax. However, in winter, it was cold to go out without a thick yukata coat. The meals were very delicious. However, having to pay separately for butter and olive oil for the bread was a bit disappointing. Since it was an annex, the front desk hours were short, and there was the hassle of going to the main building. The large public bath and open-air bath in the main building were decent, but they couldn't compare to the water in the room bath. Overall, it was a very satisfying property and I recommend it.

    Poor access and reception対応

    The room was cute, the amenities were good, and we were satisfied with both breakfast and dinner, so much so that we talked about wanting to come again. However, when we asked the receptionist which bus was mentioned in the reservation email on our way back, we were told, "There is no bus. That email is from the reservation site, so I don't know. The property would never guide you about a bus. Please confirm it yourself." While I don't expect an apology, I thought it was unkind not to be told how to get back if there was no bus. We had no choice but to check again ourselves, and found that the property's official website also mentioned a bus as a means of access. I was disappointed because it was completely different from what the receptionist confidently said, "The property would never guide you about a bus." In the end, we had to transfer between two trains and a bus to get there, which took more time than expected, and I thought we would probably never go again.

    The best location of Dogo Onsen

    The cost performance is good, and the Room has an Onsen with a view of the Dogo Onsen main building from the window. The French dinner is delicious, and the wine is not too expensive. The staff is very kind and courteous. It would be even better if breakfast could be served individually instead of a buffet, but I am satisfied. I think I will be staying here again. Thank you very much.

    I'm glad I chose this place for my first trip to Ehime! I stayed at the detached villa, Joya, and it was fantastic!

    The French dinner was high-level and delicious.

    I stayed for consecutive nights in different rooms, and the rooms felt old, especially the air conditioning. The decoration on the bathroom wall was left detached, the wooden frames were discolored, and the windows and screens were very dirty, so I cleaned the screens myself because I didn't want to inhale the dust. The bath is about the size for one person and is quite deep, with a bar attached, but it might be difficult for elderly people to use. However, you can enjoy the high-quality Dogo Onsen hot spring water while overlooking the Dogo Onsen Main Building. Both nights, we had French dinners, and they changed the menu for us, which was incredibly delicious and impressive. Thank you for the congratulatory message as well. It would be perfect if breakfast could be served as a set meal in the dinner restaurant instead of a buffet. Also, I was concerned about the musty smell of the air conditioning at the front desk. Nowadays, the front desks of inns have their own pleasant scents throughout the entire building. I would appreciate it if you could improve this.

    The location is excellent.

    You can view the back of the Dogo Onsen Honkan, which has completed its renovation work, without any obstacles from the room, the room's hot spring, and the restaurant. With a view of Dogo Onsen, we enjoyed the sunset, the illumination, and the sound of drums. The room feels a bit old, but the hot spring bath in the room is spacious with silky water quality, so we bathed multiple times. The French dinner exceeded our expectations with its high level, which was surprising, but the breakfast buffet at the main building was very disappointing in taste. I wish we could have had a set breakfast at the same restaurant as dinner.

    The open-air bath in...

    The open-air bath in the Room was wonderful, and the bed was very comfortable. The French dinner was excellent, and the staff kindly explained the wines in detail. The Wi-Fi seemed difficult to connect to. I was also concerned that the blind cord for the open-air bath was tangled and hard to use.

    The bed is the best.

    The comfort of the bed was amazing, Tempur is truly impressive. The hot spring in the room was the perfect bath to soothe my tired feet after mountain climbing! With the Dogo Onsen Honkan right next door, this hotel is very satisfying. Next time, I would like to stay at the Honkan.

    I stayed on the top ...

    I stayed on the top floor at the annex, Joya. It comes with an open-air bath and an indoor bath, and there are also two toilets. The open-air bath might not be a hot spring (is the main building the same?), but the indoor hinoki bath has a nice atmosphere and I was satisfied. The Tempur mattress was so soft and comfortable that I decided to buy one after returning home. The meal (French) was reasonably tasty. They provide bread, but there was no butter or olive oil included, and I was slightly disappointed that it costs extra (550 yen) if you want it. The location is excellent, right next to Dogo Onsen. *There is a blind, so you cannot see Dogo Onsen from the room.
