    Girls’ trip with three friends

    Every year we take a girls’ trip for my birthday, and this year we went to Kaga Onsen in Ishikawa. We had several Accommodations in mind, but we chose this one because it offered great value and a guest room with an open-air bath. The Shuttle Service from the station was very helpful. The lobby was gorgeous and beautiful. The Room was spacious, and the open-air bath was wonderful. However, perhaps because the Room was so large, the air conditioning didn’t work very well and it felt hot. The public bath isn’t very big, but it never felt crowded, so we could relax comfortably. We also used the private bath, which had plenty of space for three people. For dinner we chose teppanyaki; it was filling and satisfying. Breakfast was a reliable Japanese set meal. It was also fun that we could choose either a colorful yukata or pancakes as a complimentary service. It was a lovely Accommodation where we could truly unwind. Thank you very much!

    The room felt different from what was shown.

    The room was very old, and the restroom was far away. There were many foreign staff members, and at times I couldn’t understand what they were saying, though I suppose that can’t be helped. However, all of the Japanese staff provided excellent hospitality and attentive service, and despite the age of the facilities, everything was properly cleaned. I felt relieved whenever I met a Japanese staff member. Thank you very much.

    The meals are excellent!

    The in-room scenic bath is a relaxing Onsen, and the meals are absolutely delicious. The Room was better last time, but I feel lucky that I was able to make a Reservation for a Room with a private bath before the Obon holidays. The front desk service was not great, but the attendant who helped us during the meal service was excellent. I definitely want to visit again!!

    This was my first stay. I stay in Hokuriku every summer, and I really liked this Accommodation. I’d like to stay again. I was also interested in the live kitchen and the restaurant called Benibana, but I chose this Room because it has an open-air bath, so I didn’t get to use them and am still curious about them.

    Warm Hospitality

    We stayed here as a family during our summer vacation. The pancakes, pudding, and every meal were all very delicious. We felt a warmth in the staff’s hospitality that isn’t swayed by changing times, and it made us feel pleasantly nostalgic. It’s a wonderful Accommodation we’d love to visit again in a different season. Thank you very much.

    Chihiro’s Meals

    The female staff member who served us at Chihiro, the dining venue inside the Ryokan, was exceptionally hospitable and made our stay truly comfortable. Of course, the meal was outstanding as well.

    The service was excellent, and it was an Accommodation I’d love to visit again.

    We booked a Plan with various perks. When we stopped by four hours before check-in to pick up the “Yumeguri Machiaruki Booklet” for eating our way around Yamanaka Onsen, the staff kindly assisted us. After we mentioned we were heading to the public bath, they prepared a cute woven basket containing a full set of amenities: bath towel, face towel, shampoo, conditioner, and soap. After check-in, there was a pancake service, freshly made for us at the teppanyaki station. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. The private bath was also free of charge, which was great. On top of the perk-filled Plan, we also received IKYU Diamond benefits and birthday perks for both my husband and me, making our stay truly exceptional.

    A well-deserved reward for all your hard work!

    I stayed for one night starting on 8/20. It was a very hot day, but the atmosphere inside the hotel was calm, and the air conditioning was well maintained, so I was able to stay comfortably. The freshly grilled pancakes served right in front of us, the complimentary drink service, and the thoughtful yet unobtrusive hospitality were truly appreciated as I came to relax. I felt completely refreshed. The large public bath alternates between men and women, so I was able to enjoy it twice. Both baths—including the open-air baths—had different atmospheres, which made them even more enjoyable. I was also able to use the private open-air bath at my preferred time and was very satisfied. The Yamanaka-bushi performance was wonderful as well. With such a wide range of services along with subtle hospitality throughout, everything felt very comfortable—I couldn’t have been happier. It was perfect as a summer treat. Thank you very much.

    Quite disappointing in many ways.

    When I called in advance to Check Reservation, the person on the phone sounded intimidating and as if they were too busy, but I visited anyway. After that, I experienced similarly disappointing service from several staff members multiple times. During meals, the female server had poor timing and did not smile. The male staff did not bow or greet us even when we made eye contact. When we finished eating and returned to our Room, no one came by. We upgraded to a better Room category, but the in-room bath had a very deep tub and felt unsafe unless you were careful getting in. Overall, it felt like an Accommodation of only average standard. Next time, I will choose a different Accommodation.

    Used for a birthday stay.

    We stayed here with our family for a birthday celebration! At dinner, they kindly served a complimentary celebratory dish and a birthday cake, which made it a truly special occasion. We were so happy—thank you very much. However, they took a commemorative photo for us at the time, and we thought we would receive it later, but we forgot to ask at checkout and ended up leaving without it (laughs). We would love to stay again for other special occasions.

    This is a wonderful accommodation.

    I stayed in a Room with a private bath. Not only was the water wonderfully silky, but the Room overlooking the gorge was exceptional. Enjoying pancakes and watching a geiko’s singing and dancing made for a truly fulfilling stay. Above all, the staff were outstanding. Everyone treated us with great care to ensure we had a wonderful stay. This has become an Accommodation I would love to visit again. I am sincerely grateful. Thank you very much.

    It was really great.

    The staff’s greetings and responsiveness were excellent, the meals were delicious, and we were completely satisfied with everything. Even though it must have been a busy Golden Week period, we had a very comfortable stay. The bath was also great. We would love to visit again if we have the chance.

    I had a pleasant stay.

    Because I parked under a cherry tree, fallen petals and small branches covered the hood, windshield, and roof. At checkout, I borrowed a water hose to rinse it off. Although it caused extra work for the staff, they kindly helped me. The meals were generous in portion size, but I felt the taste had changed.

    It was excellent.

    The 24-hour bath and 24-hour all-you-can-drink beverages were wonderful, and choosing a coffee cup and enjoying a drink while looking outside was very relaxing. Even though I can’t eat sashimi, the simmered abalone was delicious, and both dinner and breakfast were excellent. Everything was perfect.

    A Ryokan that satisfies you in every way

    I loved the pancake service, so I stayed again. The crab-focused dishes were delicious, and I was completely full. The complimentary soft drinks and pudding were a nice touch, and having towels provided in the bath area was very helpful. I’d definitely like to stay again.

    Highly satisfied

    My three sons (high school sophomore, middle school second-year, and fifth grader) and I stayed here as a group of four. We chose the Miyabi Room, and it was amazing—spacious, with a private Onsen and even a massage chair. The complimentary afternoon tea pancakes were fluffy and truly café-quality, and the crab kaiseki dinner was incredibly luxurious, including one whole snow crab per person—far more than we could finish. We have stayed at many Ryokan before, but my kids said this was the best ever and were absolutely satisfied. We would love to visit again.

    Neither good nor bad.

    This was my first stay in two years. The deciding factor was the 11:00 checkout. Most Onsen inns in Hokuriku require checkout at 10:00, which leaves no time to enjoy a bath or relax, so this was wonderful. Overall, there are many thoughtful services and I appreciated them, but the entrance carpet color feels a bit dated. If it were more stylish, I think it would feel even more exciting. I would also like you to consider offering Shuttle Service to places like Yamanaka-za nearby—it would add to the enjoyment. We travel with our grandchildren every time. Dinner was delicious, but the items we requested—tempura, fried chicken, fried shrimp, fries, etc.—were all piled together on one large plate. Even though it was a children’s meal, I was disappointed by how it looked. I believe presentation matters too—such as placing tempura on decorative paper or adding parsley for fried chicken—to create a special dining atmosphere. It would have been nice if a little more care had been given to plating the children’s meal as well. The colored yukata were very cute. Thank you very much.

    This was my second stay, and the hospitality was consistently excellent. From the pickup at Kaga-Onsen Station to check-in, throughout my stay, and from check-out back to Kaga-Onsen Station, every staff member provided wonderful service again. Thank you very much.

    We stayed as a mothe...

    We stayed as a mother-and-daughter trip. Since we both enjoy alcohol and it was my mother’s first trip in a while, we booked the Plan with breakfast and dinner, free-flow drinks, and crab. My mother has a discerning palate, but she looked like she was enjoying everything from start to finish, and it became a wonderful memory for us. We’re sorry for keeping you waiting because we were late for our meal, but thank you to the staff for speaking to us kindly and providing attentive service. (The dishes were also served at our pace.) Because it was a course that included crab, the amount of food was quite large! Even without the crab, it would have been plenty. We were also happy that the free-flow selection included brands we like. Overall we were very satisfied; if I had to mention one thing, there were times when we couldn’t get through by phone to the front desk. When we called again at a different time they answered right away, so I assume it’s simply that someone isn’t always stationed there—but I felt that guests who aren’t used to traveling or elderly guests might feel uneasy.

    The Accommodation offered exceptional hospitality and attentive service.

    I usually prefer small Accommodations with just a few Rooms, so I rarely stay at a long-established Ryokan like this. However, I was truly impressed by the many enjoyable services and the heartfelt hospitality. The pancake and pudding service was especially delightful—something many women would appreciate. I even skipped lunch and arrived hungry. For dinner, you kindly accommodated my preferred dining time and even prepared a private room for me. When I left, after snow had fallen all night, you carefully cleared the snow off my car and moved it to a covered area so I could depart right away. In many other small ways as well, I felt your thoughtful attention. Thank you very much. The Miyabi Room has large windows on two sides with a wonderful view, and I was able to spend quiet time watching the snow swirl outside at times almost wildly. The Room was very clean, and it was truly peaceful—I couldn’t sense any noise or presence from other Rooms2 The Onsen was also wonderful—the large public bath, the private bath, and the in-room bath were all extremely relaxing, and I thoroughly enjoyed bathing while viewing the snow. It’s quite far from home so it’s not easy to visit often, but I hope to return someday. Next time, during the green season, I’d love to walk along the promenade. Thank you for taking such good care of me.

    There are lots of events, which is great. 1) The events are packed: 24-hour all-you-can-drink soft drinks Pancake hospitality service Free private bath Performances or koto music Pudding “Berobero” (a ginger-strong egg agar jelly; I don’t eat it because it doesn’t taste good). In Kanazawa, a tasty version is called “Ebisu.” Access to the baths at the sister property One complimentary beer Plus more depending on the Plan details Depending on the Plan, making a Reservation through a travel agency can be much cheaper than booking via the Ryokan’s website. If you contact them in advance or leave a note at the time of Reservation for stays within one month before/after your anniversary, you may receive a nice complimentary service. There was so little time that it quickly became bedtime. The large public bath rotates by schedule. The open-air baths are separated by gender into a semi-open-air bath and an open-air bath. This time, the semi-open-air bath was closed off, which was disappointing. As for meals, it felt like the nodoguro was smaller than before, and I wondered if the person at the grill station had changed. Both were slightly overgrilled (the head was pitch black), so the fat was gone—disappointing. Breakfast is always the same and I’m starting to get tired of it. It would be nice if they could change up the menu for repeat guests. Training here seems thorough, and I think the staff’s service is good. It would be even better if they made the large public bath free-flowing from its natural hot spring source. My request: In December and January, I’d love to see an all-you-can-eat sashimi option—even gando would be fine. Also, it’s extremely disappointing that the town-walk ticket and ice cream ticket were removed from the nodoguro Plan. Why were they discontinued? We were both looking forward to them. This is truly disappointing and could lead to losing loyal guests. Could you please review this again? Thank you very much.

    Completely satisfied! I’d love to stay here again.

    There was so much hospitality that one night wasn’t enough to fully enjoy it all. The woman at the shop and the seasoned Shuttle Service driver were especially memorable—so friendly and warm. Both the meals and the Room were wonderful, and I truly felt glad we stayed; we’d love to visit again. We’d even like to make it our family’s regular Accommodation.

    The Best Accommodation

    Stayed in a Room for four people for one night. The warm welcome, open-air bath, and lobby service were all exceptional. Dinner featured plenty of crab, and breakfast was delicious with impressive attention to detail and creativity. Excellent value for money. It became a wonderful travel memory. Will visit again!

    Valley Side Relax Room 2025/12/22

    The room is good. The toilet is a unit bath. An extension cord is available in the room. The TV is small, but it has an HDMI port. Complimentary bottled water and snacks are provided for each guest. There is also one additional bottle for boiling water. Fresh coffee beans are available, and the aroma when ground with a mill is delightful. The large public bath alternates between men and women. One side features an open-air bath, semi-open-air bath, and jacuzzi. There’s a sauna but no cold plunge pool available. A free massage chair can be found in the changing area along with complimentary ice cream bars. Free shuttle service to sister facilities & access to their large public baths are offered. In the lobby, events or drinks such as pudding or "Berobero" (local specialty) are served depending on the time of day. Pancakes made with bamboo molds are also available; flavors vary by day. Meals here are very delicious! The Nodoguro fish course, Noto beef course, and half-crab course were all excellent. Even though it was only half a crab portion, it had plenty of miso inside which was satisfying. For special occasions like anniversaries within one month before or after your stay date—don’t hesitate to leave comments during reservation or call directly! The ryokan offers special services for such occasions. Yukata robes and sashes can be exchanged on the first floor; extras are also provided in your room. In addition to yukata robes, pajamas for sleeping at night are included—a thoughtful touch! This ryokan truly stands out as an excellent place to stay overall. Lastly: while most staff members provide great service overall—some could improve their friendliness (smiles) or speak more clearly instead of softly—but aside from that minor point everything else about them was wonderful!
