    Impressions of Hills Villa

    The Room was clean and nice, but since we were a family of four, we requested two extra beds and they were very hard and uncomfortable to sleep on. Also, the dinner buffet had a limited selection for the price, and the quality was not great. At a Resort Hotel like this, the meals and the Room are important, so it was disappointing.

    A resort that brings you back to childhood and revitalizes you

    We stayed at the newly opened Hills Villa. Having our own private cart was a lot of fun—we zipped around in the breeze and felt like kids again. Since it was during summer vacation, there were many families with children, which was lovely to see. I’m sure they’ll make great memories at the pool and crab catching. For dinner, my husband and I chose the standard seafood course, and it was a fantastic choice. It started with a dashi-based soup—perfectly balanced and delicious. Then came a beautiful assortment of small dishes that paired wonderfully with drinks. The lightly sparkling “Zaku” sake was especially good. Next was the meat course, followed by an unforgettable steamed dish with a dramatic smoke presentation. When we opened the lid, there were abalone, shrimp, white fish, seaweed, and vegetables—needless to say, everything tasted amazing and truly impressed us. We finished with simmered fish and a rice dish together. Thank you for the wonderful meal. The Onsen is located in the basement of the Hotel building. I went in around 7:00 a.m., had it all to myself, and my skin felt incredibly smooth—even on the tops of my feet. They also provide MIKIMOTO cosmetics, along with plenty of towels. There were many staff members on site; including those still in training, everyone was professional, friendly, and reassuring. We actually stayed next door at Amanemu as well. Of course the concepts are different, but both are wonderful—I wish guests could use both facilities interchangeably… though that may be unrealistic. My apologies for saying so.

    It was great.

    Thank you for taking care of us for 2 nights and 3 days. All the staff were very pleasant, and we had a wonderful stay. The food was delicious, but although the à la carte dishes were supposed to be served one by one, they all came out at once, which made us feel rushed and was disappointing. Also, it was disappointing that the fries in the children’s meal were cold on both days. The course meal was delicious. I understand it can’t be helped around the poolside and in the changing rooms, but I would have appreciated a bit more cleaning of hair.

    The only disappointment was that the pool changing rooms were not clean.

    This was our first time visiting on a family trip. The food was delicious and the Facility was clean. However, it was disappointing that the floor of the pool changing room was constantly wet and did not seem to be well maintained. The Onsen was also great. If we had known about this Facility sooner, we would have liked to use it from when our children were younger.

    A Relaxing Trip to Mie

    We enjoyed a Multiple Night Stay! It was our first time at Nemu no Sato, and we fully enjoyed the resort atmosphere. For meals, we chose the restaurant’s chef’s choice course. On the first day we savored seafood, and on the second day we enjoyed meat dishes. The large public bath had three tubs, each with a different type of water.

    Perfect for three-generation family stays.

    We stayed as a large family and everyone had a great time. The pool was very clean. We only stayed for one night, but it wasn’t enough, so we’d like to stay again.

    A True Resort Experience

    The views were absolutely stunning, and the relaxed, open atmosphere throughout the property made it easy to unwind. All of the staff were kind and helpful, which left a great impression.

    First time staying here—slightly disappointing.

    This was my first time staying in a dog villa. The villa amenities were great—there were treats for our dog, and the amenities for guests included MIKIMOTO items, which I appreciated. However, at check-in, the Reservation was registered under a different Plan from what I had booked on IKYU, and the Diamond member benefits were not applied. It was disappointing that this was only addressed after I pointed it out. I’m not sure whether this was due to insufficient confirmation by the Hotel or a lack of coordination on IKYU’s side, but I would like both the Hotel and IKYU to ensure that Reservations made on IKYU are properly reflected. There were also a few disappointing points in the Room that I hope can be improved. The bathroom in the dog villa we stayed in had a very strong body-odor smell that did not go away even with the ventilation fan running, to the point that it made me feel unwell. It would be helpful if the bathroom could be ventilated by opening a window, or if an air purifier were provided. Also, we appreciated having our meal delivered to the Room and carefully set up, and the BBQ was delicious. However, some cutlery sets had spoons while others did not, and some had forks while others did not—the cutlery was inconsistent and it seemed this had not been properly checked. If items cannot be fully provided, I think it would be better to inform guests in advance. At checkout as well, charges for free drinks included as an IKYU Diamond member benefit were added to our bill. If I hadn’t mentioned that they should be complimentary under the benefit, we would have been charged. The staff member then said while looking at their PC screen, “Oh yes—you’re right; it’s included as a benefit,” so if it is already reflected in your system, I believe confirming it beforehand would allow for a smoother checkout experience. I would like to stay again, so I hope these points will be improved.

    We stayed at the Hot...

    We stayed at the Hotel side that had just been renovated. What we liked: the newly built pool, seeing beautiful stars during stargazing, a lovely sunset, riding around in a cart, and the buffet was average. What we felt needed improvement: explanations from several staff members were insufficient (cart guidance, system information, pool guidance, etc.), the Onsen was small and not hot enough, and most of all, although we were given a nice Room right after renovation and it looked clean, it was extremely humid. Maybe that can’t be helped because it’s an older building. The next morning my wife said it was so humid she couldn’t sleep; our children felt the same way. This is only my personal opinion, but I felt it wasn’t worth the price.

    Staying for 2 nights and 3 days from August 17.

    This was our first stay. The spacious Facility offered plenty of activities, and it was truly exciting. We were glad to be able to spend a relaxing, laid-back time that felt just like summer vacation. It’s a Hotel we’d love to visit again.

    Family-Friendly Resort

    We stayed in the main building during the Obon holiday period for a Multiple Night Stay. It was a last-minute stay and we made the Reservation without checking all the details, but overall we were satisfied with our stay. ○What we liked There is plenty of nature, and it was fun getting around the grounds by cart. The food was delicious, and all of the staff were pleasant and welcoming. The pool is new and clean, and the Facility itself was excellent. The Onsen was very relaxing, and the drinks after bathing were delicious. The morning yoga felt wonderful. We had dinner à la carte, which I would recommend for those who don’t eat a lot or who want to enjoy drinks. ○What we noticed In our Room, there was a slight musty smell near the entrance. However, the Room itself was comfortable, so it wasn’t a major downside. The new pool was understandably crowded during Obon. There were many families with children, and most poolside chairs were taken, so as two adults we couldn’t really relax. It didn’t feel ideal for spending a quiet day lounging by the pool. There are no restaurants nearby, and there is no in-room dining or light snacks in the lounge either, so there’s nothing available when you want a quick bite. It may be a good idea to bring something simple like instant noodles. We really enjoyed our stay thanks to the nature, food, and staff. On the other hand, it felt more like a family-friendly resort than somewhere for adults to unwind quietly on their own. We would like to stay again once our family grows.

    We stayed during the Obon holiday. I had visited before the renovation with friends. The Room and the food were excellent, and since the Facility is spacious, we rode around in a cart and had a great time. After having a child, I recommended this place for a trip with my 1.5-year-old, my parents, and my brother’s family with a 5-year-old, because I thought it would be perfect. In reality, it was disappointing, and I felt sorry for choosing this Hotel. First of all, we booked three rooms and informed them that we were one group. We have different last names, so I thought that might make things go more smoothly. However, we had to check in separately; some of our luggage ended up in the wrong Room; and some key cards were issued for the same Room. What was supposed to be an exciting moment when everyone saw their Rooms turned into chaos. The response at that time was not good either—there was hardly any apology, they brought only keys without confirming which family was assigned to which Room. I used to work in hospitality myself, but even so, I honestly wondered if this level of service was acceptable. As for the food: last time I remember dining at a restaurant, but this time it was a buffet. There weren’t many options suitable for children. For reference, our child isn’t particularly picky and eats most things. There also wasn’t much seafood—only something like seared bonito (tataki). The meat dishes were very good: they grilled steak on request and there was roast beef as well. Of course there are good points too. The activities you can enjoy within the Facility and the Rooms themselves are very nice. Maybe because our child is still small, it left us feeling disappointed overall.

    We used the pool.

    While my husband was playing golf, the kids and I enjoyed the pool, so it was great that each of us could spend our time in our own way. However, perhaps because the pool had only recently opened, there wasn’t much information available and we felt a bit confused. Towels were provided free of charge. There was a restaurant next to the pool, but it would have been even better if takeaway iced coffee or iced tea were available. (Basically, bringing drinks into the pool area was not allowed.) I made a mistake with the time and happened to be first in line for the pool, but while I was showing the staff a paper with details such as our number of guests at reception, a large family behind us went in all at once and started reserving seats. Is it okay that there is no headcount check? What is that paper for? Since you need to head straight to reserve seats as soon as it opens, you might consider adding more shaded areas. That was my only concern. Other than that—our Room and amenities, breakfast, Onsen, and the free coin laundry (the dryer doesn’t dry very well)—everything else was wonderful overall, so I would like to stay again.

    This property is a good choice for families.

    Season of stay: Summer Building: Hotel building There are lots of activities, so children will probably enjoy it. The lobby is spacious with plenty of sofas, and the Room was also large. The staff were kind. For lunch, is Dining Satoyama the only option? (There’s nothing around, so if you don’t have a car or other transportation, you really have no choices.) For dinner, they offer a summer-only buffet. There was also a festival-style area at the buffet venue. There is a place called Hilltop House where the pool is open in summer only as well. There are two shallow, smaller pools and one deep, large pool. They do not rent balls, floats, sandals, etc., so it’s better to bring your own. The bath with pearl additives was sparkly and lovely, but it was noisy because there were many children. Below are some points I’d like you to consider: - The buffet (12,100 yen for adults / 3,850 yen for children) is expensive. Setting aside the children’s price, it did not feel worth 12,100 yen—the content and price don’t match. Alcohol is also very expensive. - Since there is nothing nearby, dining options are limited if you don’t have a car. Honestly, I think I would return if you raised prices slightly while improving the food quality and making alcohol included—an all-inclusive plan where guests can eat and drink anytime would be appealing. In its current state, I’m unlikely to return often. - There is a coffee machine in the lobby but it only serves hot coffee. Since it’s summer, I’d like iced coffee as well. Light snacks would be even better. This also applies to the morning/evening buffets: please provide paper cups so guests can take coffee back to their Room(s). - If you look into corners inside the building area , there are many dead insects , human hair , dust , etc . Some people will find this bothersome . There is a ball pit for kids at the back of the lobby , but the balls were dirty . - At check-in there was no guidance on where the pool is; it would be helpful if staff could explain this . - It can’t be helped that Facility(ies) are old , but an outlet in front of ice machine room on third floor was sticking out; since children use this area too , I felt it was dangerous . Please make sure necessary repairs are properly done .

    Nemu no Sato (Former Name)

    There were photos in the elevator from live performances held at Nemu no Sato long ago. I was deeply moved to be able to visit the place I had admired about 40 years ago. True to its heritage, Nemu Resort is a wonderful resort Facility set on a vast property, offering a wide range of activities.

    It was an Accommodation where you could enjoy a relaxed pace of time.

    Both the bath and the Room were exceptionally clean and comfortable. Above all, I was truly impressed by how delicious the breakfast was! The luxurious buffet made me feel happy from the morning. The new pool was also very comfortable. It became a wonderful memory. Thank you very much.

    We have stayed here ...

    We have stayed here almost every year for family trips since our children were little. It has become our tradition to ride a cart around the vast grounds and enjoy a walk. We joined several activities, and the staff were very kind. The pool Facility has been renovated, and it is now closer to the accommodation building, making it easier to use. The changing rooms are also new and have a nice atmosphere, but we were concerned that the floor around the lockers does not drain well and was flooded with water. For that reason, we rated the Facility one star lower. We look forward to improvements in the future. We will be back again next year.

    When you want to unwind, when you want to see the ocean, when you don’t feel like doing anything

    We stayed in a villa with our dog—this was our third visit. For me, it’s the perfect space to do nothing at all: relax in the Room, listen to music, watch movies, and spend time however I like. For breakfast we had the “Forest Breakfast” bento, and for lunch we took out items from the “Satoumi” menu, so everything could be enjoyed in the Room—making it easy for our dog to feel comfortable too. The dog amenities are also well stocked. The dog run is separated into areas for large dogs and small dogs, which feels safe and secure. The staff were polite and friendly as well. What was disappointing was that the refrigerator in the Room doesn’t have a freezer compartment. You can get ice at the service station on the villa grounds, but since it was a hot season and we wanted to keep items like ice cream frozen, not having a freezer felt a bit inconvenient. Also, this time we changed breakfast to the Forest Breakfast for the first time; during a Multiple Night Stay, it would be appreciated if even small changes could be made to the menu. That said, there’s no doubt it was a truly fulfilling vacation both physically and mentally.

    Disappointing dinner buffet.

    I was disappointed with both the selection and the taste of the dinner buffet. At the regular price of JPY 12,100, I didn’t feel it was worth it. The air conditioning inside the building is so strong that it feels cold.

    The Executive Twin is the best.

    As the Room had just been renovated, there wasn’t much information available such as other guests’ Reviews or Room photos, so I was a little worried until I arrived (since some Hotels can be misleading in photos). However, once I arrived at the Hotel, I felt reassured by the calm atmosphere and the front desk staff’s service—and when I entered the Room, I was even more impressed by how wonderful it was. It felt like a thoughtfully designed space, from the interior selections to their placement. It had a sense of luxury while still being so relaxing that it made me want to live there. We stayed for two nights, but it was so great that we wished we could have stayed longer. Since my friend’s birthday was coming up, we requested a cake. It looked amazing and tasted wonderful, and they also provided plenty of cutlery—such thoughtful attention to detail. The whipped cream was truly delicious, and I highly recommend ordering a cake if you’re celebrating an anniversary or special occasion. All of the staff showed outstanding hospitality—not only at the front desk and restaurant, but even housekeeping greeted us with lovely smiles whenever we passed by. Breakfast was also excellent, with a great selection of salads and vegetables. Since it’s easy to fall short on vegetables while traveling, it was wonderful to enjoy plenty of delicious veggies in the morning and feel energized throughout the day. I would definitely love to stay again—thank you very much.

    Forest Villa with Dog

    I’m a longtime repeat guest—I stayed here three times more than 50 years ago. Back then, many Yamaha-sponsored music events were held here. This time, since I was traveling with my Jack Russell Terrier (female), I stayed in a villa with breakfast only. A dedicated cart was provided in front of the entrance, which was very helpful for getting around the spacious Facility and grounds. Of course, my dog enjoyed the ride too. The villa interior was very clean—the living room, bed, washbasin area, bath, and toilet all felt spotless. An ice maker for mixing drinks and a microwave were fully available in a separate building—very thoughtful. The only downside was the noise from what seemed to be a dehumidifier installed near a corner of the ceiling; it was quite bothersome. I asked the front desk about it, but they said it couldn’t be turned off. Breakfast was delivered by staff after 8:00 a.m., and it was delicious. I’d like to visit again in late autumn next time.

    A Golf Getaway for Couples

    Calls cannot be made with a docomo mobile phone in the villa! This is a long-time favorite Accommodation, and I would like to continue using it, so please improve this.

    We were able to relax in a spacious setting.

    I had a relaxing stay. Thank you for accommodating my last-minute request for dinner; it was very delicious. The quiet ocean view from the cart was wonderful. The conditioner in the private bath felt like shampoo, so I didn’t use it. Please check it. I also used the large public bath and felt comfortable using the amenities there. The public bath was very pleasant, and I especially enjoyed the pearl bath.

    Enjoy your stay with your dog.

    We visited with two dogs. This was our third stay since the year before last. Being able to explore the spacious grounds by cart is a real highlight. There’s also a stargazing event at night, so you can truly enjoy nature. The Dog Villa is very well cleaned and comfortable. The terrace and garden are also spacious, which is great because the dogs can relax and enjoy themselves too! If I had to mention one drawback, my mother uses a walker, and there is no elevator to reach the large public bath in the Hotel building, so she has to use stairs and we had to skip it this time. We would be happy if an elevator or similar access could be added in the future. At night, we enjoyed a barbecue on the terrace. Compared with last year, the food selection was much improved and everything was delicious. It’s an Accommodation we’d love to visit again within this year.

    This was my first time staying in the Shima area for two nights. Surrounded by nature, it was a very pleasant stay. The staff were kind without being overly attentive, which I really appreciated. As I am sensitive to noise, I requested a quiet Room, and I’m grateful that you accommodated my request. I would definitely like to stay again.

    Nemu Resort Is Getting Worse and Worse

    Unfortunately, all worthwhile benefits for Diamond members have been downgraded. 1: 2 hours of free cart use 2: 12:00 checkout 3: One extra dish All of these are now gone. It didn’t feel particularly crowded, but the food service was slow, and there were several times when the next dish wouldn’t come unless we asked. Compared with before, breakfast also had fewer items I wanted. Even when I went at 9:00, once the Caesar salad ran out, it never came back. It made me wonder if this can really be called a buffet. I’ve stayed here 4–5 times within the past year and even brought my parents in May, but after these changes, I’m not sure whether I’ll return.

    As we stayed just after the reopening, both the lounge and the Room were new and very pleasant. Dinner was a seafood kaiseki course, and we were surprised by how luxurious it was. We toured the vast grounds of Nemu Resort by cart and were soothed by nature and birdsong. Overall, it was wonderful.

    A resort with stunning nature and breathtaking views

    I stayed one night at Hills Villa, and since it was reopened after renovations in April 2026, it was spotless and felt brand new, with a wonderful natural wood scent. One cart was provided at the villa, making it easy to get around the grounds through nature while enjoying ocean views, flowers, and even spotting animals like foxes—an amazing experience. We had dinner outside the resort, so we only had breakfast at the Hotel restaurant and enjoyed the buffet. Perhaps because we went late, there wasn’t a large selection left, but everything we tried was still delicious. Check-in was handled at the Hotel front desk, where we received clear explanations and courteous service. It was truly a lovely place that made me want to visit again within this year.
