This is a wonderful accommodation.
I loved Azumino when I visited three months ago, so I came back—and this time chose Accommodation Nagomino. Surrounded by vivid greenery, everything was wonderful: the scenery, the building, the Facility, the meals, and of course the baths, as well as the excellent hospitality from all the staff. We were informed in advance that due to last week’s heavy rain, the Onsen pipeline to the Accommodation had been washed away and the Onsen supply had stopped, but fortunately it was restored on this very day—what a relief! It’s not a price range we can visit often, but I would definitely like to return in another season.

This Accommodation suited rainy days perfectly.
On a rainy night, the sound of the rain and raindrops rustling the green leaves blended beautifully with the scenery, making this a wonderful and very relaxing Accommodation. The Room was a bit small, as some Reviews mentioned, but we stayed with three people and it was perfectly fine for sleeping. The Onsen had that silky, slightly slippery feel—truly a “beautifying” hot spring. It felt like a real Onsen. They said it’s available 24 hours a day, which sounds common but is actually quite rare. We also really appreciated that towels were provided at each bath, so we could go empty-handed. The shampoo and skincare items (like toner) were from an herb-based brand; the scent suited our taste and everything felt high quality. There are several baths: the private baths lock with a key system so they feel secure, but for the indoor bath and open-air bath, the men’s and women’s entrances are right next to each other—quite close. Curtains were hung to provide privacy, but we still couldn’t help feeling slightly concerned about security. In the relaxation area, several types of tea were available, and we could choose whatever we liked. Dinner was an elaborate creative kaiseki meal. The ingredients were impressively focused on Shinshu Azumino specialties—excellent in every way. We were completely satisfied and pleasantly full. Breakfast was also wonderful. Afterward they brewed coffee for us, and we spent a leisurely time again while looking out at the rainy garden view.

An Accommodation Where You Can Feel Happiness
It’s been a while, but this was our third visit. With prices rising these days, we arrived with both hope and a bit of worry—would it still feel as satisfying as before? Those worries disappeared the moment we arrived at the Accommodation. Being greeted in the parking area, the welcome drink in the lobby, and being escorted to our Room—every interaction was so pleasant that we immediately felt at ease. The interior remains simple and impeccably clean, which is always refreshing. The wellness tea service in the lounge Fresh towels prepared in the bath area, so you can use a clean towel every time you soak Bathing without having to watch the clock Flowers arranged along the corridors and in the Room Tasteful decorative items and tableware with character Natural herb-based amenities throughout Outstanding cuisine, carefully prepared to highlight each ingredient! A well-curated selection of alcoholic beverages After breakfast, delicious coffee on the terrace while listening to birdsong All of our favorite points were unchanged, and we’re truly grateful—and deeply moved—that we were welcomed back just as warmly as ever. At dinner, when I asked for tissues, they brought them together with a small trash container. I thought it was such a thoughtful touch—and even though breakfast was served in a different location the next morning, tissues had been prepared there as well. Everyone working at Nagomino is wonderful and attentive down to every detail. Our stay made us truly happy. Thank you very much—we would love to return again.

It was great.
The Room is a cozy 10-tatami Japanese-style room. Complimentary bottled water was provided in the refrigerator, which was very helpful in this season. The bath had pleasantly lukewarm, silky water that made it easy to soak for a long time. However, it was a bit inconvenient that the indoor bath and the open-air bath were separate. I also appreciated that the meals were small portions with many different dishes—it was nice that it wasn’t the usual branded beef steak or shabu-shabu. One disappointment was that 350 ml canned beer wasn’t available for purchase, so I couldn’t enjoy a beer after bathing or before bed. For that reason, I gave it 4 stars.

A wonderful, relaxing Accommodation without any frills.
• Room We stayed in a Japanese-style Room on the first floor. It was a comfortable size and fairly standard, but when we opened the window there was a small chair outside, and we were able to enjoy the fresh greenery of May. If I had to mention one small thing, it would have been even nicer if there were two chairs on the balcony so a couple could sit together. • Hospitality & Service Personally, everything was flawless. From check-in onward, we felt it would be a great stay—and that impression remained until the end. When talking about the Accommodation and Azumino, it was clear how much they love both, which made us feel calm and at ease. When they drove us to the station at the end (perhaps because it was just us), they kindly departed earlier than scheduled rather than sticking rigidly to the timetable, which allowed us to catch our train with plenty of time—something we truly appreciated. • Onsen & Baths There are indoor baths, an open-air bath, and private baths; we used the private bath twice. It was spacious enough for two people, and being able to use it 24 hours during our stay was excellent. Since it is not reservation-based, I thought we might have to wait quite a while depending on timing; however, none of the other guests behaved inconsiderately and we hardly had to wait at all—perhaps thanks to this Accommodation’s warm atmosphere. • Facility & Amenities There were about two relaxing spaces outside of our Room (such as lounges), and from those areas you could see fresh greenery everywhere—an incredibly soothing environment that felt wonderful. The lounge offered around three types of tea and one massage chair available free of charge, which we also appreciated. • Meals As other Reviews mention as well, we were very satisfied with the meals. Not exactly part of dining itself, but the welcome drink—a herb-infused apple juice—was also delicious. Not only was the food great; I was especially surprised that breakfast and dinner were served in different dining areas (I’ve never stayed anywhere like that before). The attention to detail impressed me so much that although my spouse and I travel every year and have never written a Review before, this is my first time doing so. Overall, this is an extremely relaxing Accommodation. If you are looking for an Accommodation in Azumino, I can recommend it without hesitation.

A Very Relaxing Accommodation
We stayed here when traveling to Azumino for our wedding anniversary, which marked our silver anniversary. The Accommodation may not be new, but both the interior and exterior have an elegant atmosphere and are kept very clean and well organized. All staff were extremely courteous and left a great impression. In addition, both dinner and breakfast were outstanding in both quality and quantity—among the best we have experienced at any Accommodation. On the way home, my wife and I agreed that we would like to return again soon. This was the first Accommodation that made me want to stay again. Finally, we stayed in a Western-style room, and the only improvement I would request is having more power outlets for charging smartphones and other electronic devices.

You can relax and unwind.
A wonderfully relaxed atmosphere fills the entire Accommodation. No matter how many times we visit, each meal delights both the eyes and the palate. The staff are also very attentive and make the stay truly enjoyable. The lounge area just before the large public bath has a great ambiance. With a variety of teas available, spending about 30 minutes browsing books you wouldn’t normally read is genuinely soothing—just as the Accommodation’s name suggests.

It was a quiet Accommodation where I could rest and recuperate.
I visited during the off-season. The gentle, delicious meals were outstanding. I was also able to enjoy the baths at my own pace, not only the private bath but the other baths as well. The dining location changed each time, and every spot was lovely and relaxing. The samue loungewear was very comfortable, and I would have liked to buy one to take home if my bag hadn’t been so full. Thank you for providing Shuttle Service just for me. I would love to visit again.

Enjoy Azumino in winter and its snowy scenery
I have been a repeat guest at Nagomino for over 10 years. I stay here at least once a year, and every visit is truly relaxing. Winters in Azumino are cold, but there are fewer tourists than in summer, which I personally prefer. This time, Azumino Hotaka Onsen Village had an unusually heavy snowfall, making it one of my most memorable trips. Enjoying delicious meals and the Onsen while watching the snow, with the entire view outside turned into a silver-white world, made for an Azumino trip I can’t usually experience. The next morning there was still a fair amount of snow on the ground, but thanks to the warm hospitality of all the staff, I was able to relax again this time as well—thank you. Thank you also for accommodating our various requests. I’m really looking forward to my next stay.

Excellent hospitality, service, and dining.
This was my first time using the service. When I tried to cancel my reservation through the website and rebook over the phone, it was difficult to get through, and there were delays in processing the cancellation despite follow-ups, which made me a bit uneasy. The shuttle service vehicle was also an old Delica, adding to my concerns. However, both the taxi driver and café staff described it as "wonderful." It wasn't until check-in that I realized how great this place is. We had stayed at "Kyukamura Retreat Azumino Hotel" the night before and left our suitcases there. At check-in, we were kindly offered assistance to retrieve our suitcases from "Nagomino," which we gratefully accepted. Originally planning to take a taxi for this task, we instead spent that time relaxing in our room and enjoying a private bath. Although it felt cold during this season—lowering its score—the cleanliness and quality of the hot spring water were excellent. The cuisine was outstanding. We dine at fine restaurants several times a year, mostly in Kyoto, but even compared to those experiences, the meals here held their own magnificently. The dishes not only tasted exquisite but also showcased local ingredients with seasonal touches that beautifully expressed "Azumino's charm." Dinner was truly delightful. Since my wife has knee issues requiring a bed for comfort, we chose a Western-style room. While its age showed and space was limited—minor drawbacks—the room was impeccably clean with necessary renovations completed where needed. For these reasons, guestroom amenities received slightly lower marks. The facility itself is older but features impressive architectural elements such as sturdy beams and wooden window frames crafted from natural materials throughout—a testament to high-quality construction despite not being fully barrier-free; these aspects more than compensated for any shortcomings in accessibility efforts overall! Even dining areas boasted plastered walls reflecting meticulous maintenance challenges faced daily yet handled admirably well! One highlight came during an early morning stroll through on-site woodland trails illuminated by sunlight filtering onto autumn-colored trees accompanied melodious birdsong creating serene picturesque Impressed by the comfort
This was an accommodation I had always dreamed of visiting. Finally, I had the chance to go to Azumino and made a reservation months in advance. From the warm welcome to the guidance on meals, every aspect of the service was exceptional. The food was delicious and generously portioned. The dessert I couldn't finish at dinner was kindly served after breakfast with coffee on the terrace, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Additionally, I deeply appreciate your promptness in mailing back my forgotten earrings. I will definitely make another opportunity to visit again. Thank you for such a wonderful time!

A Relaxing Accommodation for Your Stay
Thank you for your hospitality. Both the meals and the Onsen were excellent. The staff's service was pleasant as well. Although we wanted to stay and relax in the morning, we had to leave early due to our departure time for Kurobe Dam, which was unfortunate. The room, while showing some age, was clean and comfortable. It would be nice if the amenities were a bit more comprehensive. The meals were visually stunning and delicious, reflecting the season beautifully; however, it was disappointing that we couldn't finish them due to a late lunch schedule. We look forward to visiting again at a more leisurely pace!

Excellent accommodation.
I have stayed here more than 10 times, at least once a year. The open-air bath nestled in the forest makes great use of the spacious grounds, offering a relaxing experience surrounded by nature. I enjoy the quiet rest area after bathing, sipping tea while gazing at the forest outside. The tranquil atmosphere throughout the accommodation is one of my favorite aspects. The cuisine is excellent. The Japanese dishes are themed around the seasons, with autumn featuring beautifully crafted dishes inspired by maple leaves, ginkgo, akebi, mushrooms, and chestnuts. The presentation is stunning. Since the dishes are so intricately prepared, I think it would be nice if the staff provided more explanations about the food without waiting for guests to ask. The morning coffee on the terrace is also delightful. The service strikes a perfect balance, being attentive without being intrusive. If I had to point out a downside, the rooms are generally on the smaller side. While they are fine for two people, there are probably only two rooms that can comfortably accommodate three guests. Additionally, while the beds are fine, the futons in the Japanese-style rooms don’t suit me well, and I sometimes wake up with back pain. Despite these minor issues, the excellent baths, cuisine, service, and the overall atmosphere of the accommodation keep me coming back.

This is my second stay.
Run by a warm family, the Japanese cuisine is exceptionally delicious. The room is simple yet comfortable enough for a good night's sleep. While it may appear modest to those seeking luxury, the homely and heartfelt hospitality was truly pleasant and welcoming. Originally visited as a summer retreat, this year’s heat in Azumino reached 35°C, making it quite intense. I look forward to choosing a different season for my next visit to this lovely accommodation.

Surrounded by lush green trees.
I’m a repeat guest who stays here several times a year. I was able to visit again this July and had a truly relaxing time. The Ryokan is surrounded by abundant nature, with lush green trees, and in the evenings and early mornings you can even hear cicadas, which really lets you feel the season. The Onsen is also wonderful—the indoor bath is on the hotter side and helps you relax both body and mind. The meals are carefully prepared and always delicious whenever I come, but breakfast tends to be the same set menu each time, so I’d love to enjoy some variety soon. I also appreciate that there are now more color options for the samue loungewear and that sizes can be chosen. This is an Accommodation I’d like to continue returning to.

The scenery and surroundings are outstanding.
I booked through IKYU based on a 4.8 Review rating, but unfortunately it didn’t live up to that score for us. The Room was far too small—once the futons were laid out, there was no space to walk. It says “with balcony,” but that made me laugh. Other than the Room, the location is wonderful. Quiet and relaxing.

The Onsen and meals are excellent.
The onsen, meals, and staff service are excellent. The room is small and old like a business hotel, but it’s not an issue if you only need it for sleeping. The private bath is fantastic; however, since it’s not reservation-based, availability depends on timing, which could be improved. For example, implementing a 30-minute reservation system would be appreciated. Overall, I am satisfied.

Hospitality Accommodation
My daughter and her husband returned home after a long time, so I arranged for them to relax at an Onsen accommodation for one night after staying at our family home. They enjoyed having lunch at a galette restaurant near the accommodation and visiting the Tencenter, which they had been curious about, as part of their stroll. The next day, they were kindly dropped off at Hotaka Station and explored various spots in Matsumoto before taking the Azusa limited express back to Tokyo. They said it was a fulfilling trip. According to them... the meals were delicious, the shampoo provided was from Matsuyama Yushi (their favorite), and there was a lovely tea space where they could read various books—making it a wonderful stay where they could truly relax. It seems like it was an excellent experience for them! Since this is such a popular accommodation, we were really fortunate to find an available room. A few years ago when relatives visited from afar, we also chose Nagomino for their stay, and they were very pleased with it—so this time too, there was no hesitation in choosing this place again. Although we couldn’t visit ourselves on this occasion, we definitely hope to stay there next time! Thank you very much for your hospitality!

Satisfy your heart, body, and appetite.
We were blessed with a beautiful day of snow-covered scenery. The purpose of our stay was simply to relax, and the three-night Multiple Night Stay was well worth it. The Accommodation had flowers subtly placed throughout, and the interior design was soothing, creating a very calm and comfortable atmosphere. Meals were served in different Rooms each time, all of which had a pleasant ambiance. For breakfast, you could choose porridge, allowing you to adjust based on your condition that day. The highlight was definitely dinner! Each evening featured a different set meal with wonderfully crafted and delicious dishes for all three days! We were extremely satisfied with the heartfelt cuisine provided. Although the Accommodation seemed fully booked, it was incredibly quiet, and we never crossed paths with other guests—everything appeared thoughtfully arranged. We are delighted to have discovered such an excellent Accommodation and look forward to visiting again someday.

A return visit following our stay in January.
I was able to relax and unwind again this time. During the off-season, it is truly quiet and peaceful. When I stayed, it happened to be warm weather, so I was able to take a short walk around the area. No matter when I come, it always feels soothing. I’m looking forward to visiting again.

Relax and unwind in Azumino this winter...
I’m a repeat guest and stay here a few times a year. This time again, I was able to relax and unwind at Nagomino in wintertime Azumino/Hotaka. I stayed over the weekend, but this season is cold and quiet with fewer visitors, so it’s recommended for sightseeing and soaking in the Onsen. The food was truly delicious, and the Onsen is set to a higher temperature, which is especially welcome in winter. In the Japanese-style Room, they provide both a kotatsu and a humidifier in winter—everything is thoughtfully taken care of. Now I’m wondering when I can stay again… I really love Nagomino.

I think it's a wonderful Stays.
Thank you for your hospitality. We used the family bath only once, but it felt a bit challenging for elderly people with weak legs and hips. The food was very delicious, and the staff were very kind and accommodating. I think it is a wonderful property.
