    Thank you very much.

This is an Accommodation I had long wanted to stay at, and I was able to relax in this quiet place with only five groups. The Room had both a bedroom and a Japanese-style room, and it didn’t feel cramped at all. There are four Onsen baths with open-air tubs, and you can check availability on a tablet, so we were able to use them without waiting. The water temperature was just right, and it stayed warm without getting chilled afterward. The main building’s bath is also available at night. Dinner, which I had been looking forward to, was just as delicious as expected: Hida beef grilled over charcoal right in front of us, and salt-grilled char so tender you can even eat the bones. Each dish—such as the apple-based sauce—made me feel happy every time it arrived. Breakfast was also wonderful, with local Hida flavors such as hoba miso grilled over charcoal and dried sweetfish. The late-night pressed char sushi and yogurt were delicious too, leaving both my mind and body refreshed. I accidentally left something behind in the Room, but they contacted me right away, which was very helpful. It’s an Accommodation that’s hard to get a Reservation for, but I’d love to visit again next time. Thank you for everything.

    It was worth the price.

・Room It was compact and clean. With two sons and three adults, it felt a bit cramped. The late-night mackerel sushi was a nice touch. ・Bath The bath at the separate Sansoan annex is spacious and great, but perhaps because it was crowded, there was no key the next morning so we couldn’t use it. ・Meals Everything tasted great, but it was disappointing that the portions were small overall. Breakfast in particular felt quite light; I think it would be more considerate if refills of rice and miso soup were available. ・Service The staff were kind and helpful.

The Finest Dining and Exceptional Hot Springs

This is my third stay at this accommodation, and it has truly become one of my favorites. The highlight is undoubtedly the meals. You can enjoy beautifully crafted dishes made with seasonal Hida ingredients. No matter how many times I visit, I never get tired of it; in fact, I find myself wanting to return as soon as I get home. One subtle but delightful feature is that instead of the usual solid fuel often used in ryokans, meals are prepared over charcoal fire. Another thoughtful touch is finding a fresh yukata prepared for you after returning from your meal. The onsen may be classified as a simple onsen, but it has a faint sulfur scent and offers excellent water quality. There are only four private onsens available, but with just five guest rooms in total, it's rare for all to be occupied simultaneously. The two detached baths tend to fill up more quickly due to their spaciousness and also feature an option to turn off the outdoor lights for stargazing. Other services and guest rooms are sufficient without being excessive. While they may not match the extravagant hospitality or service of high-end accommodations, it doesn't bother me at all. I look forward to visiting again when the seasons change!

    The cuisine seems to...

The cuisine seems to be carefully prepared. However, if you are promoting Hida beef, is it appropriate to have guests cook it themselves? As for the service, I must honestly say it was the worst. Despite accommodating only five groups, the guidance was extremely unpolished and increasingly frustrating. While I will not stay here again in the future, I sincerely hope that a competent manager is appointed and improvements are made for the sake of future guests.

The meals and baths are excellent.

This is my second stay. The meals here are absolutely wonderful. You can truly enjoy the delicious dishes while appreciating the meticulous preparation, presentation, and vibrant colors. The baths are also charming in their own way, allowing for a relaxing experience.

    Gourmet Accommodation

There are four private baths available, and if they are vacant, you can take the key from the front desk and use them. Each private bath has two tubs, and in the open-air bath, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the stars. Meals were served at just the right timing, with hot dishes kept hot and cold dishes kept cold. The dishes made with local vegetables were truly delicious. It was a cozy accommodation where you could relax and enjoy both the onsen and meals at your own pace.

    Okuhida Sansoan Hibikiya

I have stayed here several times, and the meals are always creatively prepared to match the season and are very delicious. The Onsen also has four private baths, each with its own charm, offering a relaxing and pleasant experience.

    Relaxing

This was our second stay at Akariya, and just like the first time, it deserves high ratings in every aspect. The accommodation is limited to five groups, and with four private Onsen baths available, you can always enjoy one unless it's fully booked. You can relax and soak comfortably. Bathing in the open-air Onsen while gazing at the starry sky is truly wonderful. Although there is no shared large bath, this poses no issue for guests who prefer private baths. The meals are elaborate and satisfying, featuring plenty of local ingredients. Adding shabu-shabu to your meal might leave you with more food than you can finish! The Okuhida Onsen area has many wonderful Ryokans and Hotels to choose from, but for us as a couple, Akariya feels like the perfect fit.

    Thank you very much.

A cold front had just moved in, and the weather was snowy, but the Property offered four private baths, each with both an indoor and outdoor bath. It was incredibly relaxing to enjoy the baths while gazing at the snow. I imagine the starry sky would be beautiful on a clear night. The meals were all well-balanced and delicious, offering creative cuisine that left me very satisfied. Dining took place in private rooms within a separate building, where we could enjoy meals cooked over charcoal. It’s rare to find a Property where you can have such an experience, making the dining both enjoyable and unique.

    The meals were excellent.

It's a ryokan with great cuisine! The food was so delicious that I ended up ordering a lot of sake. It became the best anniversary ever! I was a bit bothered by the sound of footsteps on the stairs in the room, but the hot water was excellent, and the onsen in the new building was more charming. Anyway, the food was so delicious that I wish they would offer lunch as well!
